Star of the Week

2006 Daytime Emmys

Jeff Branson
— George De Sota/JPI

Making The Scene

A Star Is Born
Jeff Branson (Jonathan, AMC) flew in from New York after the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of The Big Bad Swim, in which he plays the lead role. "I was happy," he said after seeing the movie for the first time. "And I'm never happy!"

Justin Bruening
— ABC

Bird Watcher
The highlight of the night for Justin Bruening? "I met [SESAME STREET's] Caroll Spinney [Lifetime Achievement Award honoree]! He's Oscar and Big Bird all in one, and I can die happy now!"

Sydney Penny
— ABC

Family Reunion
Sydney Penny (Julia, AMC; ex-Samantha, B&B) hit the CBS party to visit with her former castmates. "Look, it's my daughter!" she beamed, showing off Kayla Ewell (ex-Caitlin, B&B).

Leven Rambin
— ABC

Fine Living
"Everybody keeps asking me if I'm okay," chuckled Younger Actress nom Leven Rambin after the show. "But I wasn't expecting to win and I'm having a great night."

Ron Raines
— John Paschal/JPI

The Best Story
Ron Raines (Alan, GL) didn't let losing the Outstanding Lead Actor Emmy bring him down. At the post-show dinner, he enthusiastically praised co-star Jordan Clarke's (Billy) Outstanding Supporting Actor Win. "Isn't it the most? And Jordan ... this is the story of the night. He's hit so many valleys, gone to the bottom and come back up. No one deserved [to win] more."

Ian Buchanan
— ABC

Low Rider
Ian Buchanan's (Greg, AMC) low-waisted pants proved a distraction. "They were made for me and this is the latest style," he laughed, "but I keep trying to pull them up!"

Stephanie Gatschet
— Brian Lowe/JPI

The Little Touches
Stephanie Gatschet (Tammy, GL) received a lot of compliments on the gorgeous necklace that she wore with her eye-catching aquamarine dress. "Everyone has been complimenting me," she winked, "and this is from Forever 21. I'm such a bargain-shopper that I'm psyched to wear this!"

Marcy Rylan
— Brian Lowe/JPI

The Great Motivator
Newcomer Marcy Rylan (Lizzie, GL) was inspired by GL's multiple wins. "Tonight has made me want to work harder on acting," she confessed. "It was great seeing all the wins, and the fans."

Renee Goldsberry
— ABC

Broadway Baby
Renee Goldsberry (Evangeline, OLTL) circulated the ABC party with her mother. A former star in The Color Purple, the actress was all smiles after singing with fellow Broadway moonlighters Kathy Brier (Marcie, who starred in Hairspray), and Kerry Butler (Claudia, who did Little Shop of Horrors)."The performance was short, but so fun," beamed Goldsberry, an Outstanding Supporting Actress nom. "It was a great way to help close the show, I thought."
