CHEW on This

Dear ABC,
Regarding the cancellations of ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIVE TO LIVE, people have been throwing around terms like "creative bankruptcy." Considering the net is replacing the iconic soaps with a food show (THE CHEW) and a weight-loss show (THE REVOLUTION), who can argue? THE CHEW? Really? Are we going to watch people masticate, chomp, and crunch?! I won't say goodbye to my dear friend of 30 years, ALL MY CHILDREN. Pine Valley and its citizens will always live on in my heart and mind. So, au revoir, AMC and OLTL. I know what your value has been to me and tens of millions of fans over many decades. They can't take that away from us.

Cancellation of AMC and OLTL

Just sent an email to ABC.com regarding the cancellation of shows I've watched since 1975.  I will NOT watch anything that replaces AMC and OLTL.  I hope those new talk shows sink like the Titanic.  And after just reading Carolyn Hensey's Just My Opinion in the 6/14/11 issue of SOD I'm even more irritated. ABC proved that TPTB at their network have no brains!!!  Their "feedback" back to me was assinine!  They don't care about their viewers.  They don't care about anything but the bottom line.  They won't have to worry about it once they put their network out of business.  I love GH & will continue to watch that, Castle, Grey's Anatomy, and The Practice.  But other than that nothing!!!  I love Castle because I adore Nathan Fillion who got his start on OLTL.  Hello!!!  I could continue on and on but I won't.   I think my point has been made.  If they think people who are my kids' age (23) are more their demographic & have more purchasing power then me (age 48 and gainfully employed) they are even dumber than I thought.

MARIO

I refuse to watch Mario B ( he will be on the Chew)  on the Food network or the Cooking channel or on GMA. I can't stand that guy!

Is anyone listening to us ?

I really have to wonder about ABC, and whether or not the bigwigs are even listening to us.

Yes, I have enjoyed being entertained with the soaps especially while recovering from surgeries in the past...or just having the flu and knowing I could snuggle under the covers and have tissues and juice close by while the soaps took me away from how bad I was feeling at that time.

Now, if they take AMC and OLTL off the daytime lineup, I'll have to go to another channel and hope I can get involved with the few remaining soaps that are left on the air.

THEN...I'll have to wonder when those soaps will be axed in favor of some crappy talk show with overbearing people who want to talk just to hear themselves talk !

I hate the idea of nothing lasting forever...but I still have hope that ABC will change it's mind about the cancellation of two of our favorite soaps, and say that AMC and OLTL will remain on t.v. for a while longer.

In the meantime, I will continue to do whatever I can to get the point across.

I totally understand this...

I totally understand this... I was very sick for a long time and stuck in bed. If it wan't for AMC, OLTL and GH I would have gone nutts!!!   And don't forget the elderly who watch everyday since day one and now will have nothing to watch!

Save our Shows

It occurs to me that there is a tv channel devoted to just about any interest/hobby someone could have, i.e.-Speed Channel, Golf, Tennis, Food, Country Music, Weather, News, TVLand, Nick at Night, History, Science, HGTV-you get the drift.  And today we soap fans have SoapNet BUT not for long.  Frons began his decimation of daytime dramas by announcing his plans to replace SoapNet with Disney, Jr. (I don't even want to know).  I thought oh well, we still have the shows on ABC daytime. But no, now he is taking that away.  And I believe unless he is brought down GH will be next. This keeps me awake at night, I am angry & frustrated beyond words over this. Why screw over the soap fans, the most passionate tv watchers there are????????

Sayonara, ABC !!!!

I've been posting everyday, and everywhere to save our soaps.   Once they are gone, I'll be lost to ABC as one of their viewers.  Brian Frons decision to cancel our soaps and replace them with garbage that no one wants to see, is going to add to the unemployed people already out there.

Just imagine HOW MANY people it takes to get a soap on the air ?  Writers, producers, cast, makeup, wardrobe, lights, sound, etc ?

Just another way that Brian Frons has hurt people.

Mr. Frons....I hope someone makes you watch The Chew and The Revolution each and every day until you get sick of seeing the garbage you have put before the people who use to enjoy daytime television.

DO NOT CANCEL OLTL AND AMC!!

PLEASE, add my name to all those who are making extreme efforts to save our daytime soaps.  I will never watch anything on ABC if these shows are canceled.

I am on the computer for hours joining all the causes to save these daytime dramas.  We are a loyal fan base and no loyalty or respect is given to us by ABC.

CANCELLATION OF AMC & OLTL

My household is now boycotting ABC, SOAPNET and Disney.  The time to boycott is now, not after our shows are cancelled.  I have joined as many groups as I have found so far.  The kids are a little irritataed that I blocked DISNEY on our TV's.  We are also boycotting products from their main sponsers and hope everyone else will too.  The biggie is gonna be for people to quit watching Desparate Housewives!!!!!!!!!  We need to sacrafise for our favorite SOAPS!!!!

Right ON!!!

Right ON!!!

WHY????????

I think this is so stupid to cancel these shows and replace with the dumbest shows I ever heard of!!!
