I'm very torn on Y&R's Sharon and Adam. When they first got together last year, I thought that they were an interesting pair, in a trainwreck sort of way, because both felt like outsiders and were turning toward each other during a time of need. And there's no denying that portrayers Sharon Case and Michael Muhney have sizzling chemistry. However, now that Sharon knows about the terrible things that Adam has done, including stealing her baby and giving Faith to Ashley, I'm not quite comprehending what it is that's drawing her to her shady ex. Yes, their love scenes in New Orleans were hot, but they felt a little empty to me because I wanted more beats and more explanations leading up to their liaison. Is Sharon attracted to Adam because unconsciously she knows that it would hurt Nick when Nick has hurt her so many times? Is she sick of playing the "good girl" and is looking for something — or someone — to bring out her naughty side? Is she punishing herself? I wish that some of these questions would be addressed. Chemistry is indeed very important when it comes to pairing characters, but understanding what makes said couple tick is also key.
