Greetings, dear readers. Sorry to have been away so long. I was just thinking.... I hate it when people diss soaps by saying things like, "Oh, they just tell the same stories all the time." Well, sometimes there is some deja vu in daytime but as I watched today's sampling, I saw B&B's Nick struggle with quitting cigars (a true nightmare for anyone who's ever gone through nicotine withdrawal). On DAYS, I relished seeing soap hopper Robin Mattson (ex-Janet, AMC; ex-Heather, GH, et al) add a new villainess to her resume as an organ stealer working inside a prison to harvest organs and sell them on the black market. Coma meets The Shawshank Redemption. Brilliant! And on GH, Chad Duell delivered the goods when Michael finally admitted that he was raped in prison last year. Considering the horrific subject matter, I'll be darned if my eyes weren't welling up when Michael actually the words, "I was raped." So take that, suds naysayers! If you're reading this and you haven't watched a soap lately, check one out this week. You're in for a pleasant — and engaging — surprise.
