The Other Side of Rafe
By Stephanie Sloane Posted: Mar 15, 2011How much am I loving Rafe 2 on DAYS? Let me count the ways. I love Galen Gering's impish, naughty grin when he's being his boorish alter ego. I think the subtle way he punctuates his dialogue with a casual "man" or "dude" is pretty fabulous. I have to laugh at the way he delivers some of his new alter ego's more offensive lines to Sami, like these bon mots from yesterday's episode: "By the way, Johnny, I don't know if you noticed, but he's a boy. Okay? So sorry if when you walked in the door, we weren't eating health food or talking about feelings." Rafe 2 is fun and different from not only the man he's impersonating, but from all of the other characters in Salem. It makes for a fun diversion from the usual fare and I'm hoping there's some way for Gering to incorporate some of this jerk into the stand-up guy that will eventually return to the loft.
