Nancy's tribute on ATWT was such a tearjerker. Kudos to the show for
honoring portrayer Helen Wagner's memory by dedicating the episode to her.
How wonderful was it to see that amazing footage from the early days? Nancy
was such a firecracker, as evidenced by the flashback scene when Nancy gave
Katie pearls on her wedding day (to Jack!) and shared the "secret" to a
happy marriage: "Whenever Jack is angry with you, climb into bed with the
pearls on and nothing else," she winked.  Love that! While I appreciate what
ATWT did, I have to admit that I found the transition between the moment
when Bob announced her death at the tail end of Monday's episode ( quite a
blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment) to the following day, which took place
after the off-screen memorial, quite jarring. I don't blame some viewers for
thinking that the Monday tag should've been replayed the following day
before everyone started talking about a memorial service we didn't even get
to see. Still, the show made up for that misstep by giving us some great
Hughes moments and loads of Nancy memories.
