Well, as I made clear in my previous posting, I was hoping for lots of OLTL nominations in the acting categories. They got one — a well deserved nod to Brian Kerwin (Charlie). However, in my most humble opinion, Kristen Alderson (Starr), Robert Woods (Bo) and Robin Strasser (Dorian) were robbed. I was thrilled to see that so many behind the scenes people WERE nominated. I talk to costume designer Susan Gammie on a regular basis for style stories in Soap Opera Weekly so I was very happy that she and her team got a nomination. The music team headed by Paul Glass also got some nominations. In fact, three of their original songs for Prom Night: The Musical were nominated, so that also made me glad.

Thursday is one of the busiest nights (along with Mondays). That means the ol' remote thumb gets a workout...

On SURVIVOR: MICRONESIA — FANS VS. FAVORITES, the Black Widow Brigade was in full effect, plotting to oust the menfolk, but this season's curse did most of the work: James' finger boo-boo forced him to be medically evacuated, but Alexis somehow managed to soldier on with a bum leg. However, James was still in the game for the always-emotional visit from loved ones (in his case, dad James Sr.).

I have to admit, I'm glad the Gus drama is on its last leg. Here's hoping Harley digging through the rest of his belongings today, then sharing a surprisingly sweet moment with Natalia as she offered up Gus's old motorcycle jacket for Rafe signals the beginning of the end of her struggle to move on because I'm ready for some fresh storylines to unfold.

So, I have crazy, depressing moral issues about THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL's Storm shooting himself and Katie getting his heart. But rather than frothing at the mouth about that (it's kind of like getting me on the subject of ATWT's Ameera), I'd like to touch upon LESS froth-inducing issues.

To set the scene, here's an excerpt from an e-mail exchange with my colleague Joe Dilberto from a few weeks back:

While weekending in Palm Springs recently, I was invited to join Judith Chapman (Gloria, Y&R) for lunch at her lovely restaurant, The Vineyard Tuscan Grill (265 S. Palm Canyon Dr). I arrived at 3 p.m., between the lunch and dinner crowds, and Judith sat us on the front patio so we could take advantage of the wafting desert breezes.

I'm getting a little sick of the whole "Theresa is disguised as Gertrude" storyline. It's getting more and more difficult to believe that even Ethan could be that clueless that he wouldn't catch on to the fact the nanny is an alive Theresa.

I just came back from THE VIEW, where the Emmy nominations were announced. To say there was dismay in the green room would be an understatement — we're used to surprises but the list this year is so weighted to CBS, there are glaring omissions.

I've just returned from the 35th Annual Emmy Award nominations announced live at THE VIEW! Press was herded to a lounge area (where we had a Whoopi Goldberg sighting!) to watch the noms on TVs. I must admit, as annoyed as I was that I had to watch Tyra Banks blabber her way through an interview with Whoopi, Joy, Sherri and Elisabeth (no Barbara today, sadly) when there was not a single soap-star interview, it was hilarious how Banks managed to dominate the interview.

I am not a fan of PICK A NUMBER — er, I mean, DEAL OR NO DEAL, but I happened to be at my brother's house at 8 o'clock, and my nephew is a big Star Wars fan, so he insisted on watching the stormtroopers hold briefcases (but an early bedtime meant no slave Leias for him). So Howie Mandel can rest assured that he has the under-10 demographic sewed up.

Hello all! I just got off the phone with the wonderful Laurence Lau. Larry, best known to soap fans for his work as AMC's Greg Nelson, is, as you may have heard, coming back to the show on May 20 for a multi-episode stint that kicks off with Greg's return to Pine Valley on the eve of Angie and Jesse's wedding.
