All My Children Recaps

AMC Week of April 21, 2008

Monday

Angie was adamant with Jesse in her opposition to his plan to dig up "his"
grave. Tad berated Robert for bringing the issue up in the first place. After Rob left, Tad came around to the idea of Jesse being present for the exhuming. Angie reluctantly agreed to let Jesse go — but insisted on coming, too.... Rob called an associate to say that Jesse was going to lead them to what they needed.

In the prison, Erica was accosted by a group of tough inmates. They all had
various demands for La Kane and expected her to come through for them. In short, they wanted new beginnings of their own.

Kendall was uncomfortable at the dinner with Aidan, Greenlee and Zach
celebrating Aidan and Greens's engagement. Greens picked up on Kendall's discomfort but Aidan (who took Kendall aside to tell her not to do anything to jeopardize Greenlee's happiness) encouraged her to drop it. Zach and Kendall went home. "Are we okay?" she asked him. He responded by drawing her into his arms. They made love, as did Aidan and Greenlee.

Colby talked to Frankie about her fears about Adam's health and also tried
again to convince him that their age difference should not be an obstacle to a romance between them. She didn't succeed.

Tuesday

At the penthouse, Ryan and Annie literally sidestepped the sexual tension
between them, then decided that he would move back in, but stay in the guest room. Although they talked about how they were going to start over as "just friends," once alone, Annie resolved aloud to get her husband back.

At home with Zach, Kendall fretted about the tension at dinner last night
with her, Aidan, Greenlee and Zach. Zach implored her to drop it and to
focus on the future.

At the prison, Erica tried to make Kendall feel better about where things
stood between Zach and Kendall in the wake of her confession about her night with Aidan. Kendall discussed her enormous guilt over Greenlee, which Erica urged her to dismiss. Erica returned to the laundry room and caught up with Carmen, who was steadfast in her belief that La Kane still carries a torch for Jack. Erica told the warden she needed to see her attorney, Jackson Montgomery.

After a tender morning with Aidan, Greenlee met up with Zach. When he
wouldn't cop to trouble at home with Kendall, they discussed her engagement. Kendall phoned and told Zach to drop everything and come home. Aidan, meanwhile, went to Jack to ask for Greenlee's hand in marriage. Jack was thrilled for his daughter.... Greenlee ran into Ryan.

Wednesday

Ryan encountered Greenlee at The Comeback and they chatted about how things were going between him and Annie. She confessed that she wasn't sure anymore that she wanted kids. They parted company on great terms.

Adam asked JR for his help at Chandler. "I'm slipping," he confessed with difficulty. Colby entered and when she and JR began bickering, Adam was
pleased, as things felt back to normal. Once Colby left, Adam apologized to
JR for not supporting him in his struggle against alcohol. JR pledged to
help Adam however he could.

At home with Jesse, Angie expressed concern about Frankie in light of
Jesse's decision to be present at the exhuming of Jesse's coffin. Frankie
(who asked to be called Franklin) was understanding when Jesse explained why he felt the need to dig up the coffin. The Hubbards headed to the cemetery. Being there was emotional for all.

Kendall tried to convince Zach to go away with her. He believed that they
didn't need to go away to put their relationship back together. The duo
shared some quality time with the kids but Kendall was frustrated with Zach
for not continuing their conversation.

Tad was peeved with Krystal for visiting Adam in the hospital and on edge about Jesse's grave-digging mission. He was not relishing seeing Dixie's grave because he had failed to fulfill his promise that he would find Kate. Krystal tried to allay Tad's guilt, then sent him on his way to the cemetery.

Thursday

Ryan went to see his therapist and she probed him about his relationship
with Greenlee. They talked about how, unlike Annie, Greenlee isn't waiting
for Ryan to remember his past.

At the cemetery, the Hubbards and Tad prepared themselves for the exhuming of Jesse's grave. Lurking nearby, Robert made a call and said that by the end of the night he would have a ginormous diamond in his possession. Rob brandished a gun, unseen, as the digging got underway. Angie began crying; Jesse comforted her. When the casket was opened, Angie gasped, "Oh, my God, Jesse!"

Julia came to the Lavery penthouse and reminded Annie that even back in the halcyon days of their time at Wildwind, she and Ryan had challenges to overcome. Julia left and Annie reflected on her courtship with her hubby, realizing that he'd always played her savior. Annie then tripped and hit her head and broke a vase. Ryan came in and Annie fibbed that there had been a break-in. He vowed to protect her.

Erica and Carmen met with Jack and Samuel at the jail. La Kane presented Sam with a list of injustices in the prison that she desired for him to fix. She also wanted Jack to represent Carmen. Jack was happy to do so (once she let him get a word in edgewise). While Carmen and Jack got better acquainted, Sam warned Erica that she would face opposition in her crusade from the prison warden. Sam and Jack both agreed to work on Erica's causes.

Kendall beseeched Zach to open up to her about his real feelings regarding
her night with Aidan. "It feels like a knife in my throat," he said coolly.
He copped to being unable to get the image of Aidan's hands on her body out of his mind. Kendall ran out, upset. Kendall arrived at Sylvester's cabin and flashed back to what had unfolded there with Aidan. "This is where it ends," she vowed. As she doused the place with gasoline, Zach showed up. Together, they set about burning the place down. As they watched it go up in flames, they agreed to put everything it represented behind them. "Always,
only us," they vowed, kissing passionately.

Friday

At the Chandler mansion, a disheveled Adam was rattled by strange phenomena (like waking up to find his shirt undone). JR showed up with good news about the meeting Adam had sent him to (and a new haircut). Adam remained flustered by the bizarre things happening at the house (glass breaking, music playing seemingly out of nowhere).

At the prison, La Kane was giving a pep talk to her fellow inmates that was
interrupted by a loud protest outside: A "Free Erica" rally replete with
live performance from B5. Erica met with the warden to discuss the changes she wanted implemented at the prison. The warden proved to be a tough customer and insisted on placing Erica in "protective custody" —a.k.a. solitary confinement.

Kendall and Zach watched the cabin burn to the ground and agreed to leave the past behind them. The Slaters headed home for a night of tender lovemaking. However much progress Zach had made in forgiving Kendall, it was still clear that his rage against Aidan remained.

Tad, Jesse, Angie, Frankie and a hiding-nearby, gun-wielding Robert were shocked when Jesse's casket was opened and a stuffed animal Jesse bought for Frankie was revealed to be buried inside. The Hubbards left the
toy with forensics experts and headed home; Rob followed and eavesdropped as the Hubbards and Krystal talked about how the buried toy was actually a duplicate of the one Jesse gave to Frankie — Angie had actually kept the real toy and given it her daughter, Cassandra, and that it later ended up going to charity, news that did not please Rob. Angie urged a worked-up Jesse to stop investigating his past. He agreed. But Tad, stoked by a visit to Dixie's grave, renewed his drive to find Kate. Jesse and Tad agreed to team up on the Kate case.... Cassandra phoned home from Paris, declaring her intention to come home to meet Jesse. Cassie actually still had the elephant.
