Greenlee teased Aidan at ConFusion, who was clearly upset about something. Unable to coax a smile out of him, she tried to buy him a drink, but Aidan turned the tables on her, asking if she'd told Kendall the truth about what
happened with Spike. Greenlee said she'd done something better than tell the truth. Aidan told her she didn't know when to stop. She needed to leave them alone. Greenlee refused to tell him what she'd done, given the attitude he
was giving her. Suddenly it dawned on her that Di was moving to New York, and must have broken up with him. Greenlee delighted in Aidan's pain, and Aidan wondered what he'd done to deserve being stuck with her. Greenlee
asked for the story, and Aidan shared. They ended up joking over their bad
relationships, but Aidan suddenly left, leaving Greenlee with the bill.

Annie asked the anonymous caller why they were bothering her, and hung up when they didn't answer. Annie called Emma's camp, and told them she would be picking her up early, only to find out she wasn't there. She lost it and was about to call the police when there was a knock at the door. Annie opened the door to find Emma with Jonathan. Sending Emma to get a snack in the kitchen, Annie laid into Jonathan for picking Emma up without warning. Jon reminded her that she had asked him to pick Emma up. Annie apologized, and Jon wondered what was wrong. Annie attributed it to Spike and Ian's situations, but Jon wasn't buying it. Annie said she just got carried away,
and Jon encouraged her to tell Ryan if there was a problem. Annie insisted there was no reason to tell Ryan. All she needed was good news from the
hospital and some sleep. The phone rang and Annie jumped. Jon took the call and it was Ryan, who asked to speak to Annie. Ryan asked if she'd heard from Kendall. Annie only half-listened and said she had no idea where Kendall was. She hung up, and Jon was about to get into it again, but Emma
came in asking him to make cookies with her. Jon agreed, and once she was alone, Annie made a phone call. Later, Jon left with a handful of cookies, and Annie locked the door behind him and hugged Emma.

Joe talked with Zach about Ian's need for brain surgery. Zach wondered where Kendall was. Meanwhile, Ryan and the nurse were unable to find Spike or Kendall. Ryan arrived at Ian's room, where Zach filled him in on Ian's
situation and on the doctor that contacted Kendall. Joe reported that Kendall's car was no longer in the hospital lot. Ryan told Zach to stay with Ian, and he would go find Kendall. Ryan called Tad and told him there was an emergency and he needed his help. Joe continued to press Zach to allow Ian's surgery,
and eventually Zach signed the papers, realizing he couldn't wait for Kendall. Josh came to Ian's room, and Zach filled him in on Kendall's
disappearance. Josh told Zach he was staying with him. Zach wondered if Ian knew what was going on, and Josh said he didn't know, but that the doctors here knew what they were doing. Josh reminded him that everyday Ian was with
them was a day closer to the baby making it. Joe arrived with nurses, and they
wheeled Ian away to surgery.

Tad came to the hospital and together he and Ryan tried to figure out where Kendall could have gone. Ryan worried that Kendall would do something crazy, like she had in the past, and Tad did his best to calm him. Tad made a call
and finally got information on Dr. Hilliard. Ryan took off for his office.

Kendall took Spike to meet Dr. Hilliard, unaware of the events at the hospital. When her phone rang, Dr. Hilliard asked her to switch it off. Kendall obliged, then asked the doctor why he thought he could help Spike. Dr. Hilliard
said he didn't believe that Spike was permanently deaf. He agreed that while Cochlear implants were an option, to him they were a last option. Kendall examined Dr. Hilliard's portfolio, full of patients who once shared Spike's diagnosis. The doctor told Kendall that the first step would be getting Spike healthy, using vitamins. He gave her some pamphlets laying out the steps of his treatment plan. Kendall admitted to Hilliard that her husband
and Spike's father weren't aware she had taken Spike to see him, and that she felt she was being torn in two between both her sons. Hilliard told her she had to focus all of her attention on Spike's recovery. He then told
Kendall the treatment was free, because he currently had plenty of "benefactors."
Someday down the road, if she felt he had done something for Spike, she could make a donation as well. Kendall said goodbye and was about to leave when Ryan walked in.

Tuesday

An angry Ryan asked Kendall what she was doing at Dr. Hilliard's office. Kendall told him not to freak out — the doctor thought he could help Spike. Ryan took Spike from her, said he was taking the boy back to the hospital, and told Kendall her other son needed her — Ian was in surgery. Kendall quickly left for the hospital. Ryan told Spike they had to go back to the hospital, and asked Dr. Hilliard what game he was playing. Hilliard told him he wasn't playing games; he'd had success with his method of treatment. He told Ryan
he had no idea Kendall was bringing Spike for a consultation before he was discharged. Ryan said there was no way Hilliard was treating Spike, then left.

Zach had a daymare in which Joe told him they lost Ian during surgery. In
reality, Joe came over and told Zach and Josh that Ian was holding his own.
Tad let Zach know Kendall was on her way, and left to talk to Joe. Lily came
over with Zach's work, and also gave him a book she'd gotten for Ian. Zach
thanked her, and Josh left to take Lily back to work. Zach read the book,
and as he finished Kendall walked up. She asked how Ian was, and apologized
for not being there. Zach wasn't quick to forgive. "While you were gone, our
son could have died," he noted. The doctor who performed the surgery came over to let them know that Ian survived. He warned them that until he told them otherwise, they couldn't go into the room with Ian. Zach and Kendall looked in on their son, but he was under too much machinery to even see him. Zach read Lily's book to Kendall. She begged him to understand why she left, but he couldn't, and left her there alone.

Jamie came into Joe's office while Tad and Joe talked. Joe told Tad that
Jake had called saying there was a position for a med student in Africa,
where he was working. Joe offered it to Jamie. Jamie wanted to take the
position, but Tad was not happy with the idea. Joe admitted that even though
he didn't want Jamie to go, it was the opportunity of a lifetime. He left
Tad and Jamie to talk. Jamie said he would stay, because he didn't want to miss Jenny growing up. Tad reasoned he had to go, because he couldn't give up on his dream. They hugged. After leaving, Jamie ran into Josh in the hall. Josh wished him luck in Africa, and Jamie suggested Josh give the Martin family a chance. Ryan brought Spike to see Joe. He wanted Joe to make sure Dr.
Hilliard hadn't done anything to him. Ryan calmed down, and apologized to
Joe for acting crazy. He wanted to know if they could have more security for Spike's room, and Joe pointed out they wouldn't be able to stop a mother
from taking her son. Jonathan came in as Joe left and Ryan filled him in. Jon reminded him that the important thing was that Spike was all right. Jon then said he was going to accept Ryan's offer to work together. Ryan thanked him for the support. Before leaving, Jon suggested Ryan call Annie. Ryan called and discovered her phone had been disconnected. Back in his office, Joe talked to Tad about Jamie's decision to go to Africa. Joe said he was proud of Tad for letting Jamie go. Joe said Tad
was a wonderful father, and Tad replied that he learned from the best.

At Fusion, JR watched Babe work. Amanda kissed him hello, and Babe caught
it. JR told Babe he wanted to take Little Adam on an overnight yacht trip with him and Amanda. Babe replied that she was worried Little A would sleepwalk — he'd been doing that lately. JR suggested a day trip instead, and Babe
said fine. Ava's manager Andy walked in and introduced the new and improved
Ava, who strutted in behind him. Ava told them that Andy had her set up for
a few movies, the names of which sounded like porn films. Andy didn't think
being the face of Fusion was going to work for Ava and showed Babe his
contract with Ava, which Babe proceeded to tear up. Ava was furious, but
Babe pulled out the contract that Ava had with Fusion, stating that Fusion
owned all rights to her. Andy got a little too close to Babe, and JR was
about to step in when Babe tore into Andy herself. Andy left, telling Ava it
wasn't worth the grief. Ava yelled at Babe who quickly returned fire,
shutting Ava up. Babe and Amanda went online and showed Ava Andy's "success"
stories. Ava was eventually convinced that Andy wouldn't have gotten her anyplace good. Babe still thought Ava needed someone like a manager to help her out, and suggested Amanda. Amanda wasn't thrilled by the idea, but agreed, as did Ava. Ava and Amanda left, and JR stayed behind to talk to Babe. Jamie burst in via the stairs, and told Babe about Africa while JR looked on. Babe told him he couldn't leave — she needed him.

Wednesday

Jonathan came back in as Ryan realized that both his home phone and Annie's cell had been disconnected. Jon sent Ryan home to check on her, promising to stay and keep an eye on Spike. After Ryan left, Jon promised Spike he would get better. Ava burst in, complaining about being given a "handler." She eventually shut up, and Jon hugged her. Ava told him she had plans, and they went beyond Fusion. Jon got a call about Spike, and left Ava with Spike while he took the call. Ava talked to Spike, and told him it wasn't so bad to be
different. Jon came back in, and Ava went back to talking about her plans.

Kendall spoke to Ian through the glass. She apologized for not being there sooner. Just then, Zach walked back out of the elevator. Kendall apologized again. Zach still wouldn't budge. He told her he couldn't tell her what she did was okay, and left again. Joe walked up, and Kendall told him she would have been there for Ian if she'd known. Joe sat her down, and told her it was all right. It was hard enough to have one child in the hospital, let alone two. Joe got a call and walked off. Kendall went into Ian's room and talked to him
through the incubator. Meanwhile, Zach visited Ethan's grave. He told Ethan
he wanted to be a better father. Zach went back to the hospital and listened
as Kendall spoke to Spike. They hugged.

Ryan walked into the apartment, and no one was home. Emma and Annie walked
in with dinner right behind him. Ryan told Annie they found Kendall and
Spike, and asked what happened with the phones. He told her how scared he
was, and Annie explained that she just forgot to mention it, and said he
would never lose her. She suggested they go away, take a break from everything. Ryan told her they she knew they couldn't do that right now, and
wondered what had her so freaked out. She said there was nothing wrong. Emma
came back out, ready for bed, and Annie left to tuck her in. When she came
back, she told Ryan that she only overreacted, and Ryan filled her in on
where Kendall had gone and about Ian's surgery. Annie felt awful that she
wasn't there with him. Ryan signed that he loved her, and they kissed.
Later, Annie woke up on the couch, hearing the song the prank caller sang in her head.

JR eavesdropped as Babe and Jamie talked. Babe tried to convince Jamie not to leave. JR walked in as Babe cried, and Jamie told him he was going to
Africa. JR seemed as unhappy as Babe; he couldn't believe that Jamie would
bail after what the three of them had been through together, now that things
were finally okay. Jamie said he wasn't bailing, and JR hugged him. The three
of them sat down and discussed their past. JR left, leaving Babe and
Jamie alone. Babe cried and told him she didn't want to lose their connection. They both admitted they'd dreamed about each other recently, and Jamie kissed her. Babe pulled back, and Jamie told her she was his first love and would always be a part of him, no matter where he was. He gave her a charm bracelet with a cow charm. Jamie promised he would come back safely, then left.

Thursday

Zach talked to Ian, encouraging him to keep gaining weight so they could
hold him. Lily came to visit Ian, and Zach told her the book helped him. He
showed Lily how they fed Ian, and let Lily try it. Lily pointed out that she
and Ian were very similar — needing confined spaces, not being able to be touched, etc. Meanwhile, Kendall visited Spike. Ryan came in and signed to Spike, which infuriated Kendall. To her, teaching him sign language would be giving up. Kendall thought Ryan should be grateful that she was looking for ways to cure Spike. Ryan said he just wanted to do those things together. He pointed out that they had to accept the fact that there was a chance Spike would
never hear again. Kendall couldn't believe he was becoming a quitter. Ryan
promised he wasn't quitting, and told Kendall he arranged for Spike to go
home to his place. He thought it would help Kendall so she would be able to
spend time with Ian too. Kendall was not happy. She thought Ryan was trying
to take Spike away from her. She was offended that Ryan would suggest she
wasn't spending enough time with Ian, and pointed out that Ryan was to thank
for Spike being hurt in the first place. Ryan told her he was taking Spike
home with him whether she liked it or not, and Kendall became hysterical.
Zach walked in wondering what was going on. Ryan said he was just offering
to take Spike home so that Kendall could focus on Ian. Zach thought he was
right. He told Kendall that they would be able to hold Ian if he gained a
little more weight. Zach and Ryan both pointed out that Spike was fine the
last time he stayed with Ryan and Annie. Kendall finally agreed, and Ryan
took Spike. Zach suggested they go see Ian.

Annie brought Emma to Fusion with her. Greenlee touched Annie's shoulder
from behind and Annie freaked out. Greenlee was surprised to see Annie at
the office at night. She'd been doing work at night to avoid everyone who
was angry at her. Annie said she wasn't angry, just sad for her. She added that the pain Greens was feeling wouldn't last forever. Greenlee told her
to stop pretending to care, but Annie continued to insist that Greenlee
would find happiness again someday. Greenlee thought she was talking like
she knew what it felt like, and Annie quickly tried to end the conversation.
Greenlee wondered if it was about Terry, and having to start her life over
from scratch. "Something like that," Annie told her. Emma called Annie
over because she found rose petals. Greenlee could see that Annie was shaken up. Annie began having an asthma attack. She wanted to go home, and Greenlee said she'd drive her. Once they arrived, Emma told Annie she had to lay down, and asked Greenlee to help her make tea. Ryan came in with Spike just as Greenlee and Emma carried tea in on a tray for Annie.

At The Comeback, Krystal and Babe talked about Jamie leaving Pine Valley. JR
brought Little A in, and after saying hello to his mom, his nanny took him
home. Babe thanked him for giving her a chance to talk to Jamie alone. JR
asked about Ava's contract, and Babe quickly realized that JR wanted to
steal Ava from Fusion. JR showed Babe a drawing Little A made for her, and
left saying he was there if she needed him. Jack came in, and sat at the bar
talking to Krystal. She talked about owning the bar with Babe, and how it
was started with love. Jack wondered if love would be enough for him and
Greenlee. He explained that Greenlee was mad because she thought Jack wasn't
defending her, and Erica was mad because she thought he was. Krystal pointed
out that Greenlee missed out on having him as her dad when she was a kid,
and her attitude was just covering up the hurt of not having a history with
him. Krystal said that even though she and Babe faced a lot of hate when
they got to town, they had each other and that made it okay. She told Jack it
was never too late to pick his daughter up when she fell.

Friday

Zach told Kendall that Spike was fine with Ryan, and they would be with Ian
as much as they could be. Kendall was adamantly opposed to going home, because she didn't want to leave Ian. A nurse brought in Spike's blanket, saying he'd left it by mistake. Kendall became frantic, saying Spike needed his blanket. She worried Greenlee would get near Spike, and Zach told her Ryan
wouldn't let that happen. Kendall laid down in the hospital room, and Zach
told her they would be normal again someday. Kendall swore they would fix
Spike.

Greenlee looked on as Ryan sat down with his family. Annie explained that
Greenlee drove her home because she was in no shape to drive. Greens said
Spike looked great, but Ryan quickly reminded her that he was deaf. Annie
sent Emma to the other room, and Ryan took Greenlee out in the hall. Ryan
reminded her that he'd told her to stay away from his family. She said there
had to be more options for Spike, and Ryan told her Spike was none of her
business. He made it clear that he would never forgive her, or himself, for
letting her into Spike's life. Ryan told her she would never see Spike
again, and she left. Back inside, Annie told Ryan that Greenlee wasn't there
for Spike. Ryan found that hard to believe. He could tell Annie was upset,
and Annie wondered why he would bring Spike home with him. Ryan said he
wanted to let Kendall spend time with Ian. He told her about Dr. Hilliard,
and how badly Kendall wanted him to treat Spike. He worried Kendall wasn't
thinking clearly. Ryan wanted to know why Annie didn't want Spike staying
with them, but his cell phone rang before she had a chance to answer. It was Kendall, asking how Spike was doing. She told Ryan that she had Spike's
blanket. Kendall asked Ryan to put Spike on the phone. She said he would
feel it even if he couldn't hear her. She told Spike how much she loved him,
and that she would fix him. After Ryan hung up, Annie wondered if it was a
good idea to keep Kendall away from Spike right now.

Zach told Kendall that if they wanted to be a normal, happy family they had
to take care of themselves, too. He told her he was going to tell Joe they
were going home. He came back and Kendall was gone. Elsewhere in the
hospital, Kendall looked in on a woman with her new baby. She walked in and
asked to hold the baby.

Tad and Aidan chatted with Krystal at The Comeback. Krystal told Aidan he
needed to regroup. She liked to go out and find a new guy to make the old
guy jealous. Aidan told them he'd already had an offer. Tad guessed it was
Myrtle. Aidan admitted the offer wasn't real, but the woman was. Krystal
made Aidan dance with her, while Tad looked on, cracking up. Aidan fell
over, and Krystal and Tad couldn't help but laugh at him. Aidan excused
himself to go to the bathroom. Tad and Krystal noticed Ava outside. Ava and
Amanda sat down for drinks, and Amanda told her about Fusion's problems. Ava
wasn't understanding, and really only cared about drinking. Amanda tried to
stop her from going inside, but she did anyway. Ava recognized a photographer from a previous Fusion photo shoot, and asked him to take pictures. He wasn't interested and walked away, leaving Ava very offended. She climbed up on a table and started taking her clothes off. Krystal quickly pulled her down. When Aidan came out of the bathroom, Tad told him he had a better idea for distracting him — some work. Amanda came in to collect Ava, and Ava, annoyed at the lack of attention she was getting, grabbed her and kissed her. Cameras snapped away.

Greenlee went to visit Dr. Hilliard, asking how Kendall and Spike's
appointment went. He told her he wouldn't be seeing Spike again because Ryan didn't want him to. Greenlee asked if he would still see Spike if she was
able to convince Ryan, and Hilliard told her he would. Hilliard got a call saying
someone needed to see him. Aidan was out in the waiting room.
