Greenlee saw Aidan at Dr. Hilliard's office and refused to leave. As the doc
tried to see her out, Greens was upset that the doc was forcing her hand.
She stated that allowing Adian in would ruin everything. Just then, the
doctor recognized her as Spike's kidnapper. Greenlee vowed that she loves
Spike and begged the doctor not to let her actions dissuade him from trying
to help the poor boy. Greens explained the entire drama and begged the doc
to treat Spike. Dr. Hilliard stated that what started out as a medical case
has become a circus and he's no longer interested, then he returned
Greenlee's money. Greens stormed out and blasted Adian for ruining anything.
At home, Annie informed Ryan that Spike can't live with them. Ryan was
shocked. In Annie's head, she was haunted by, "Ring Around the Rosie." Ryan
pointed out that since Kendall's so grief-stricken, Spike needs to stay with
them and wanted to know why she was resistant. He asked if Annie's visit to
her
dad had anything to do with it. She claimed no, stating that she doesn't
want to separate a mother from her son. "What if this is what pushes her on
the edge?" she asked. Ryan appreciated Annie's concern but asked her to
trust him. He then acknowledged that he should have discussed it with her
first. Then, when Annie spoke in Greenlee's defense, Ryan asked what his
wife was hiding. "I can't help you if you don't tell me what it is," he
stated. She denied nothing was going on and went to check on Emma. Annie
found Emma singing, "Ring Around he Rosie" and scolded her. Then, Emma said
that grandpa told her what mommy did.
At the hospital, a dazed Kendall freaked out a new mother when she asked to
hold the woman's baby, but Zach arrived and smoothed things over. Kendall
regretted how it's been so long since she's been peaceful. Kendall
apologized for scaring the woman, then explained what had happened to her
boys. On their way out, the mother sympathized and offered to let Kendall
hold the baby. Zach and Kendall were most appreciative. In the hall, Kendall
was revived and renewed and realized her joy for motherhood. She told Zach
how much she loved him and how much she needs Spike. She stated that Ryan's
plan was not going to work.
Jack showed up at Erica's doorstep. He was furious she went ahead with the
TV show, despite him voicing his objections. Erica attempted to explain why
she told the network he would do the show, but Jack didn't want to hear it.
Erica pointed out that if the show goes, it will benefit charities for
children with hearing disorders and an organization dedicated to helping
premature babies. "Don't you want to make a difference?" Erica asked. Jack
turned the discussion around and asked if she needed him. Erica blustered
that including him in the project was the network's choice, not hers. Their
discussion got flirty and comical, until it came to their respective
daughters. However, Jack appeared to be caving and strongly considered that
the show might do some good. He admonished Erica for going ahead without him
but made one condition: They had to make "mad, passionate love."
Zach and Kendall showed up at Ryan's to take Spike home with them. "We
changed out minds," Zach stated. "Well, I haven't changed mine," shot back
Ryan. Annie entered with a possible solution — that they all move in
together.
Tuesday
Annie encouraged Kendall and Zach to move in with her and Ryan. "No way in
hell," Ryan responded. Annie tried to reason with Ry, who asked Zach what he
thought about the idea. The men talked in private, while Kendall thanked
Annie for her sacrifice. "It's for all of us," she replied. Kendall wondered
if Spike knew that something was going on. "I don't want him out of my sight
again," she cried. Kendall wondered if she's losing it, like Zach suggested.
She filled Annie in on her situation at the hospital when she wanted to hold
another woman's baby. Annie provided comfort, and the women thanked each
other for being a great friend. On the balcony, Ryan proposed to Zach that
he and Annie keep Spike with them and Kendall visit the boy whenever she
wants. Zach said Kendall needs to be with her two boys. Ryan mentioned
having them all living under one roof with not help Kendall, it will enable
her. Ry informed Zach that Annie wanted to leave town when Spike got out of
the hospital, so he's confused by her now wanting them all to live together
in Pine Valley. Zach asked for Ryan's approval for them to go for it. They
walked back in and told the women they can all be roommates and celebrated.
Once Kendall and Zach headed out, Ryan asked Annie what the real motivation
for her idea was.
On the beach, Greenlee blamed Aidan for interfering in her plan to get Dr.
Hilliard to help Spike. Aidan apologized. He opened up and told Greens that
he's scared of eels, and he punishes himself by swimming in lakes at night.
"You really are one of those James Bond types," she smiled. After a swim,
Aidan returned to Greens with food. She asked him about his days as a
soldier, and how many people he killed. "The wrong people died," he sighed.
Greenlee related his tale to her car accident that changed so many lives.
Aidan assured her that Spike still has a chance. As Aidan threw rocks into
the water, Greenlee asked if he wanted to talk about what's bothering him.
"Do you blame yourself for the death of a child?" she asked. He said he
didn't want to talk about it, and quickly lightened up their conversation by
mentioning a hot-dog-eating contest. She asked him to teach her a defense
move, but he refused, saying he didn't want her to use it on him. They
continued to laugh as he imitated Austin Powers. She began choking and he
quickly performed the Heimlich maneuver.
Lily informed Jonathan that Spike went home with Ryan and Annie, and Zach
was with Kendall. She said she was sorry that Ava is a lesbian. A confused
Jonathan was surprised when Lily showed him a picture of Ava and Amanda
kissing on the Internet. He explained that Ava most likely did it for
attention; Lily didn't understand why she would kiss a girl if she likes
boys. He went on to say Ava is feeding her ego by doing these things.
Tad and JR arrived at The Comeback and saw Amanda and Ava arguing outside.
Amanda told Ava to leave her out of the spotlight. JR came out to taunt them
after receiving the smooch photo on his PDA. Ava was proud of her publicity
stunt, while Amanda fumed. Once JR went back into the bar, Amanda tried to
talk sense into Ava. She, however, said she was in control. "I'm going to be
a huge fricken movie star," Ava declared.... Tad left, and Crystal asked JR
how Tad is holding up with Jamie gone.
Wednesday
At the Slater/Lavery house, Kendall and Annie got acclimated to their new
living arrangement. When Annie excused herself, Kendall phoned Dr. Hilliard,
who told her that he could no longer treat Spike because Ryan had hired a
private eye to investigate him. She begged the doc to reconsider, then came
down hard on Ryan for his maneuver. Ryan defended his actions. Kendall and
Spike, followed by Ryan, barged into the doctor's office. Ryan made his
skepticism quite plain to Hilliard and when the doc again refused to treat
Spike and showed Ryan and Kendall out, she made her displeasure with him
clear. Ryan promised that he wasn't giving up on a treatment for Spike, and
they called a truce. Then, behind Ryan's back, Kendall returned to Hilliard
to make another plea for him to treat Spike. Back at the house, Ryan gave
Annie a package that was delivered to her. With trembling hands, she opened
it and retrieved a locket, that obviously had great personal
significance, with a note that read, "Our anniversary is coming soon. What
are you going to get me?" Ryan asked who it was from.
At the hospital, Aidan and Jack were bemused when Greenlee, hopped up on
pain medication ... acted like she was hopped up on pain medication. After
Aidan left, Greens told Jack about Dr. Hilliard. After Greenlee fell asleep,
Aidan returned with a get-well gift for Greens, and Jack was grateful to
Aidan for his friendship toward his daughter. Down the hall, Zach told Josh
about his new living arrangement with the Lavery marrieds. A nurse
interrupted, asking Zach if he was ready to hold his son. Josh demonstrated
the process, kangarooing, that would be required given Ian's fragile state.
Zach was overwhelmed with emotion as he cradled his baby, but a problem
occurred and the nurse had to intervene and return Ian to his incubator.
At Fusion, Amanda tried to quit, fed up with being Ava's "handler." Babe
tried to dissuade her, then tended to a skittish Annie, who confided that
she'd been getting some creepy phone calls. Babe, speaking from personal
experience, urged Annie to be honest with her husband, but Annie doubted
that Ryan would still love her if he knew the truth.
Thursday
In his office, Kendall made an impassioned plea to Dr. Hilliard to agree to
treat Spike and ultimately wore down his resistance. He gave her
instructions as to how to administer a vitamin regimen to Spike.
Jonathan took Ava to The Comeback, where Krystal, Babe, Joe, Ruth, Colby and
Amanda had gathered for a surprise birthday party for Tad. JR was in charge
of getting Tad to the bash, but he had a hard time completing his mission
— as Tad was bound and determined to stay home to watch the start of
PVU's football season. Krystal introduced the gang to Wes, The Comeback's
new bartender. Babe tried to broker peace between Ava and Amanda; Colby then
thanked Ava for helping to clear Sean's name. Joe warmly greeted Josh, who
made it clear he was newly open to embracing his membership in the Martin
clan. JR called Krystal and said he'd broken the generator out of necessity
and would have Tad at the bar within the hour. However, the surprise was
spoiled when JR showed up with the news that he'd "lost" Tad.
At the Lavery/Slater house, Ryan pressed Annie for answers about the
mysterious locket she'd received. "It's from my dad," she fibbed, lying also
that her father wanted her to come back to Chicago to visit. Ryan insisted
on coming along. Annie tried to talk him out of it, to no avail. Later,
despite assurances from Ryan that everything was fine, Annie was plagued by
a vision of Ryan falling out of a window to his death.
Erica arrived at the hospital in time to see Zach holding Ian, a sight that
clearly moved her. Zach came outside of the nursery to warmly greet Erica,
who expressed her concern about Kendall. Zach returned to Ian's side;
Kendall arrived and was pleased when Erica filled her in about Zach having
held Ian. After saying good-bye to Ian, Erica convinced the Slaters to
attend Tad's party with her, though Kendall insisted on going home to check
on Spike first. Ryan called Zach to let him know that he and Annie were
leaving town and that Emma was spending the night with Julia and Kathy
(Julia, according to Ryan, had gotten back from California a few nights
before).
Friday
At The Comeback, everyone waited for Tad to arrive at his own surprise
party. They didn't notice when he slipped in and took a seat. Zach and
Kendall showed up, and Tad finally revealed himself. The revelers settled in
for a game of "Guess the Year" (a Tad trivia contest). Julia and Jonathan
had a warm reunion when she showed up. Babe told Julia that Jamie is doing
well. Jack walked in on Jon and Ava making out and on Tad and Erica
mid-flirt. Tad enjoyed several speeches in his honor (including one by video
from Jamie in Africa) and a serenade from Krystal — and withstood
ribbing from his folks about his girl-craziness — which is how Colby
learned that Tad had had a thing with her mom, Liza. Kendall was sensitive
to Ruth's well-meaning comments about cochlear implants and decided to get a
ride home from Julia, leaving Zach behind to play poker. At home with Spike,
Kendall gave him his first dose of Hilliard's vitamins.... Back at the
party, Tad surprised Krystal with a passionate kiss.
Jack visited Greenlee in the hospital; she is set to be released. Greens
wanted to know if she'd done or said anything whilst doped up on pain meds.
Jack claimed she'd been the picture of discretion. Greens declined Jack's
offer to attend Tad's party and went to the Valley Inn to dine alone. She
was approached by an old acquaintance, to whom she lied that she was meeting
a handsome man for dinner. Later, Greens showed up at The Comeback, but
hesitated to enter. On her way in, Aidan ran into her (literally).
Ryan and Annie landed in Chicago and enjoyed some passionate alone time.
After Ryan drifted off to sleep, Annie crept out of the room and secretly
met up with her father. She showed Walter a picture of her new family; he
said she would tear apart her new family just as she'd torn apart theirs.
Annie begged Walter for help in stopping whoever was tormenting her. Ryan,
meanwhile, was startled when he woke up in bed alone.
Zach came home to find Kendall asleep on the sofa, Spike's vitamins in plain
view on the table...
