All My Children Recaps
AMC Week of August 4, 2008
Monday
Colby, Dre and Cass were the center of chaos at the police station. Tad couldn't believe Jesse was arresting the kids. Tad then discovered that Krystal already knew many of the details of the night, and that Adam had already worked to cover it up. Before he could question her further, Krystal went to console Angie, who was furious that Jesse was arresting the kids. They separated the kids into separate rooms, and their family members followed. JR and Adam suggested they send Colby away to school, but she continued to swear she was driving the car. Dre apologized to Samuel. His dad assured him that Dre was his priority, and told him he would handle it. Dre insisted that he had to tell the truth — he was the one driving. Samuel asked Jesse to let the three kids meet alone again. Dre told them he was going to tell the truth. They tried to stop him, but he had clearly made up his mind. The three of them sat down and confessed, surrounded by their parents. They admitted they had kept the secret because they wanted to protect their parents from a scandal. Jesse said Colby and Cass were free to go, but arrested Dre. He then turned to Adam and told him he was under arrest as well, for obstruction of justice. Samuel called Jackson and asked him to come down to the police station because he needed legal assistance, as his son was under arrest.
Aidan interrupted his and Greenlee's lovemaking when he noticed a gas leak. Once it was taken care of, the mood was ruined and they decided to head out. At Fusion, Kendall and Ryan discussed the key they found. She tried going through Annie's desk, insisting Annie had a secret. Greenlee and Aidan walked in just in time to hear Kendall say the word "secret." Ryan pulled Aidan aside and asked him to look into the key they had found.
Meanwhile, when she couldn't reach Ryan, Annie called Zach and desperately told him about her "accident." Zach arrived quickly, followed by paramedics who rushed her to the hospital. Zach called Kendall with the news of Annie's accident, and she and Ryan rushed to the hospital. Ryan assured Annie he wouldn't turn his phone off again. Jake did an ultrasound, and Ryan and Annie were able to look at their baby. Ryan was mesmerized. Kendall expressed her suspicions about Annie to Zach, and more specifically about the key she'd found at Fusion. Though Zach initially defended Annie, he eventually admitted he suspected her as well. Ryan checked his voicemail and heard Annie's frantic message. He called Aidan and told him to forget investigating the key. Aidan told Greenlee that with the loss of that case, he had a lot of free time on his hands. They decided to take a trip to Las Vegas.
Tuesday
Erica came down to the station to see how Samuel was holding up, which he very much appreciated. When Dre was done being booked, Samuel told him he was proud of him for doing the right thing. Jackson arrived at the station, and Samuel thanked him for coming and agreeing to be Dre's attorney. As Jesse took Jack to review the files, the press burst in to question Sam. Sam and Erica both gave comments before Jesse threw the reporters out. Samuel sat with Dre while he told Jackson the story. Jackson thought it sounded like Richie was already down when the kids hit him. It would be helpful if they had the car for evidence. He asked to speak to Jesse, and pointed out that Richie was probably already dead when they hit him. Jesse told him that without the bumper there was no hard proof of that...and he would make sure Adam would be held accountable for that. Meanwhile, JR argued with Adam in his jail cell. JR insisted he could have had this taken care of already if Adam had clued him in sooner. Adam pointed out that they were stronger together, and Colby needed them. JR agreed to work with him. After he left, Erica walked in, demanding to know how Adam could let this happen. She was furious that he had jeopardized Carmen's bail arrangement. She demanded he fix it, and stalked out. Samuel and Jackson met with Erica outside Dre's room. Jackson promised Erica he was going to do his best. The group headed out to Dre's arraignment, and Samuel privately thanked Erica for her support. He asked if they could have dinner again, alone. She agreed. Meanwhile, Adam was released on bail, but not before Jesse promised to prove that he destroyed Colby's car.
Colby complained to Tad and Krystal about how Adam's lies had made everything worse. They told her she was welcome to move back in with them if she wanted to. When she left to go lay down, Tad suggested that Krystal tell him everything. Krystal told Tad she had begged Adam to go to the police. Tad thought they were past this. He couldn't believe she hadn't confided in him, and warned her that if this was how it was going to be, their marriage wasn't going to work. Krystal told him that she loved him and didn't want to lose him. She asked for another chance to prove herself. Tad told her she didn't have to prove anything — she just had to trust him. They went upstairs to tuck in the kids and ran into Colby, who couldn't sleep. They left her downstairs, where she poured herself a drink. JR walked in and caught her, and he immediately dragged her to an AA meeting.
Jake assured Ryan and Annie that she and the baby were fine. Annie made a call to Zach and Kendall's nanny, asking her to bring Emma to the hospital. Ryan told her that Dre had been arrested for Richie's hit and run, and Annie expressed her concern for the kids. She told Ryan she wanted them to be happy the way they used to be, and Ryan told her they would be. She told him she would do whatever it took for them to have their dream life. Suddenly, she noticed Richie standing in the corner of the room. Ryan noticed her reaction, but she insisted she was just lightheaded as Richie disappeared. Emma was brought into the room, and Annie showed her the picture of her new brother or sister. Ryan told Annie their new baby was their second chance. He told her he wasn't going anywhere, which brought Annie to tears. Later, while Ryan was signing her release papers, Annie looked up to see Richie again. He taunted her, and wondered if anybody else had to die to make her happy.
Frankie expressed his frustration about Cassandra's situation to Jake. Jake told him to go home and be a good brother, and said goodbye, heading off for a run. Frankie ran into Randi before he got to leave. Randi said she heard about his sister and just wanted to check on him. Frankie said he was glad she was there. He confided in her, and she reassured him that Cass was going to be okay. Frankie asked her if he could take her to dinner, on a date, and she said she "might be down for that."
Wednesday
Erica visited Adam to enlist his help for Dre. Jesse told Dre he was free to go until the trial. Adam didn't see why he should help. Erica pointed out that helping Dre would help Colby as well as himself. Adam thought Erica just wanted to score points with Samuel. As Erica and Adam sniped at each other, Carmen jumped in, coming to Erica's defense. Adam got fed up and decided to do something that would make him feel good — he fired Carmen. After he left, Erica apologized to Carmen for pushing Adam too far. Erica called Kendall and left a message saying she had a friend who was looking for a job.
Angie and Frankie talked about how best to help Cass. Frankie told her that he had a date with Randi that night. Just then, Jill showed up, saying she hoped she wasn't late. Angie thought it would be better if they did dinner another time, with everything going on with Cass. Jill said she understood, and left. Frankie immediately questioned her decision to set him up. She expressed her continued concern regarding Fletcher. He assured her he could handle Fletcher. Frankie headed out for the hospital, but he was grabbed in the hallway by two thugs.
Colby was about to leave the house but JR stopped her, saying that they needed to go to an AA meeting, since they weren't able to go the night before. She insisted she didn't have a drinking problem, and JR reminded her of all of their family members, himself included, who were alcoholics. Babe begged her to go, and she finally caved. Babe went to work, and they headed to the meeting. Colby listened uncomfortably as JR shared his story with the group. She seemed affected by his speech, but after the meeting she insisted she was not “one of them” and stalked off.
Zach suggested to Kendall that they take a trip to Las Vegas with Annie and Ryan. Kendall wasn't into the idea, but Zach was able to persuade her. Zach went to the police station and asked to see the accident report for Annie's car accident. Jesse walked in and asked what Zach was doing there. Zach admitted he was curious about Annie's accident. Another officer brought over the report, and Zach said goodbye. After he left, Jesse asked for a copy of the report as well.
At Fusion, Amanda and Babe complained to each other about Kendall and Greenlee never being at work. When Kendall did arrive, with coffee and breakfast in hand, she got major attitude from both girls. Kendall apologized and then told them that she needed to take a very important trip to Vegas to try to work things out with Annie. Babe, furious, immediately announced she was quitting. Amanda she said was going with Babe. Kendall begged them not to leave, and tried to explain why it was so important that she spend time with Annie. Babe and Amanda suspected there was more to it than Kendall was admitting. She told them this trip might be the only way to figure out what was really going on with Annie. Babe said she wanted to hire people to help out, and Kendall agreed. Seeing that she convinced Babe, Kendall headed out.
At home, three generations of Woods men argued about Dre's situation, and why he didn't tell Samuel at first. Dre pointed out that Sam wasn't exactly forthcoming with him, either — Dre only knew he was dating Erica because he saw it on TV. They discussed strategy, and Sam suggested Dre stop seeing Cass. Dre balked. Sam explained that Cass wasn't in the clear yet, and being seen with him could hurt her. Dre agreed he would avoid seeing her in public if it would help her. Sam apologized for not telling him about Erica, and the three men embraced.
Thursday
Greenlee and Aidan played at the casino tables. Greens spotted an older couple who looked very much in love. She decided to send them a bottle of champagne. The couple, Foster and Babs, came over to thank Greenlee and Aidan for the gesture. They sat down together to share the bottle. Babs and Foster told them about being together 40 years ago, and only now finding each other again. They planned to get married that day. Greenlee and Aidan told Babs and Foster their story next. Babs and Foster gave Greenlee and Aidan advice. Later, Babs and Foster left to prepare for their wedding. Greenlee told Aidan that they had gotten her thinking, but was interrupted when Babs and Foster came back and asked them to be witnesses at their wedding. Greenlee said they would be honored.
Meanwhile, Zach, Kendall, Annie and Ryan awkwardly flew to Vegas. When a sick Annie ran to the bathroom, Ryan asked Kendall and Zach what this trip was really about. They insisted they just wanted to spend time with them. Kendall asked if Ryan had discovered t anything about the key they found. He said no and basically told her to drop it. Ryan went to check on Annie, and Zach reminded Kendall that they were supposed to be non-confrontational. Kendall again insisted she thought Annie was hiding something. Annie assured Ryan she was fine, but he thought she seemed uncomfortable. She told him she was trying. She wanted things to go back to the way they were before. Ryan assured her that their family came first. Annie apologized to Kendall for not being herself lately, and Kendall agreed that they could try to get things back to the way they used to be between them. Kendall started questioning her about her car accident, and Annie wanted to know why she was grilling her. Ryan interrupted, and Kendall told him they were just talking about putting the bad stuff behind them, and joined Zach. Later, Ryan sat on the plane, starting into space, imagining Greenlee. When Annie asked what he was thinking about, he said "the woman he loves."
The thugs brought Frankie to Fletcher, who pulled a gun on him. Meanwhile, Randi arrived at ConFusion for her date with Frankie, but found that he hadn't arrived yet. Fletcher called Randi, and told her that he was releasing her from his business. She was very appreciative, but he told her he was only doing it because he knew she'd be back. All the while, he had his gun trained on Frankie. After he hung up, Fletcher told Frankie he could buy Randi's freedom, and if he didn't, Randi's life was in danger. He warned him that if he told anyone, including Randi, Randi was going to going to find herself in pain. With that, he sent Frankie out. Jake arrived at ConFusion and noticed Randi. She told him she was waiting for Frankie. Amanda arrived, unhappy to see Jake talking to Randi. She immediately broke up the conversation. Jake got a phone call, and left the two women alone. Amanda told her about working for Fusion. Jake got off the phone and told them he'd been stood up. He left, foiling Amanda's attempts to keep him there. She and Randi got back to talking about Fusion. Amanda told her they were looking to hire someone, and Randi said she would be interested. Amanda said they could talk details later, and left. Frankie walked in and Randi greeted him with a big hug. She told him about Fletcher's call, and that she thought she got a job. He asked about the job, and she told him. All the while, he was thinking about his conversation with Fletcher. He suggested Randi not jump at the Fusion offer, and suggested she consider a move to LA or Miami, where she could get a fresh start. She flipped out when she realized he was truing to get rid of her. She was mad at herself for believing in him. Frankie immediately denied her accusations, but she left nonetheless. After, Frankie called Fletcher and told him that he would meet his price, but that he would need more time to get the cash together. Fletcher gave him a week.
Jake was jogging when a woman passed him. He caught up and tried to make small talk, but she quickly picked up the pace. Later, as the woman cooled down on the beach, Jake approached her and introduced himself, but she excused herself without telling him her name.
Friday
The Hubbards arrived at the Martin home for a barbeque. When Jesse arrived, Cass flipped out on him for arresting Dre. Angie defended Jesse. Jesse pointed out that Dre was out on bail, and Cass immediately wondered why he hadn't called. Jesse pointed out that he was trying to protect her. A tearful Cass continued to lay into Jesse, and tried to leave, but Colby, Krystal and Angie convinced her to stay. Tad took Jesse downstairs, and Jesse confessed his concerns about how his job was affecting his family. They decided to play some Wii to relieve stress. They continued to talk about the accident, and they thought that there was a chance Richie had been murdered before the kids hit him with the car. Proving that would be a way to take the blame off Dre. They tried to think of possible suspects. Jesse didn't think Zach had done it, and suggested maybe JR or Babe, but there was no proof either of them was at the scene of the hit-and-run. Next he suggested Kendall and Greenlee, but they had alibis. Then he considered the idea that whoever helped Richie escape the cabin, killed him. Tad thought that person could be Annie. Jesse admitted he thought Zach had something against Annie that he didn't want to share. Jesse said he wished they still had Richie's body, but Annie had him cremeated immediately. They both wondered if she did that to cover up evidence. Krystal found Colby up in her room lying in bed. She expressed her concern about Colby's drinking. Colby splashed water on Krystal trying to prove her water bottle wasn't filled with alcohol. Krystal wanted to know what happened to the woman who she choose as Jenny's godmother. Colby told Krystal she wouldn't drink anymore, that she wanted to be able to take care of Jenny. She begged her not to take Jenny away from her. Krystal hugged her, and told her she would do anything for her. Cass told Angie how much she cared about Dre. Angie thought she should take things slowly, and Cass insisted she wouldn't turn her back on Dre just because he was in trouble. Angie said she just wanted her happy and safe. Cass changed the subject to Frankie dating a hooker. Angie wasn't easily derailed. She said that she would tell either of her children if she thought they were dating someone who wasn't good for them. Angie joined the men downstairs, and apologized to Jesse for the way Cass talked to him. She asked them to come upstairs — the food was almost ready. Tad excused himself to run out to buy ingredients for smores, and Jesse quickly followed, claiming to need beer. On the phone Colby told someone she would "make it happen." She joined Cass outside, who complained that she didn't want to stay for the barbeque, she just wanted to go see Dre. Colby told her that she was going to owe her, and then they walked inside where Krystal had just been telling Angie about her concern for Colby. Colby told Angie and Krystal that they were going to Sharon's. After they left, Angie told Krystal she was scaring herself because she was sounding like her father.
Kendall, Zach, Ryan and Annie arrived at the casino. Richie appeared again when Annie was alone at a table. Ryan returned and Richie was gone. Meanwhile, Kendall told Zach she couldn't honor their agreement that she would keep her mouth shut. Zach insisted he would handle Annie. Zach approached Annie and told Ryan that Kendall needed his help at a slot machine. Ryan warned Kendall that if she didn't lay off Annie their friendship would be at risk. Kendall begged him not to let Annie come between them, but Ryan continued to defend Annie — he was committed to her. Meanwhile, Zach brought up his own crazy brother to get Annie talking about Richie. It worked. Annie began talking about how buts Richie was, and much to "Richie's" delight, she slipped and basically told Zach she had spoken to Richie after he kidnapped Babe. Of course, when Zach questioned her, she denied it. Ryan and Kendall joined them, and Ryan asked Annie if she would marry him, again. Annie agreed. Ryan asked Kendall and Zach to be witnesses. Kendall reluctantly agreed. When they were alone, Kendall asked Zach what Annie told him. Zach said he thought Annie knew more about Richie's murder than she was letting on. Ryan and Annie returned saying they had found a chapel.
Meanwhile, Greenlee and Aidan went to the chapel for the wedding. Babs and Foster arrived in hippie gear (since they'd met at Woodstock). Greens and Aidan watched as they danced down the aisle. They were soon pronounced husband and wife. Before they left, Babs told Greens and Aidan not to lose 40 years like they did. Alone in the chapel, Greenlee told Aidan she didn't want them to lose 40 years. She asked Aidan to marry her, right there, right then.
Jesse caught Tad trying to break into Annie's car.
