Monday

Erica got busy at Kendall's, and Josh pledged his support. He told her he planned to move in so he could help out more, and offered be there for Erica, too. He tried pointing out that she was working like crazy to keep her mind off of Jack, but was interrupted by a knock at the door. Josh welcomed Joe in, but Erica immediately said he wasn't welcome after what he did to her relationship with Jack. Erica made sure they were left alone, and Joe defended his actions. Erica took a few shots, and Joe left. Josh came back in and told Erica he was on her side. She told him the story, and Josh told her if she wanted Jack back, she would have to admit she was wrong and apologize. Erica wasn't keen on the idea, but admitted she shouldn't have forged the papers committing Greenlee to a mental institution.

Ryan accused Richie of coming to Pine Valley so he could get himself killed. He read Richie's life insurance policy: if he died in an accident or by murder, Dr. Chambers would get $1 million dollars. Ryan suggested that was why Chambers got him out of jail. If Richie got Annie to kill him she would end up in jail, like he did. Richie claimed he papers were fake, and accused Ryan of being afraid of how close Annie was to losing it. Ryan promised Richie would never be able to go after Annie again, but Richie said he wouldn't have to — Annie would come to him. With that, Ryan left the room and told Joe he needed his help. He said he had proof that Richie was a danger to himself and to others. He asked what the hospital could do about mentally ill patients.

At the cabin, Kendall was thrilled to find proof that Greenlee and Zach were together, and pointed out that Aidan would never have known without her help. Kendall called Erica and told her she and Aidan were working together now. Next she called and confirmed Spike's surgery. Aidan told her to go home; she needed to be with her sons. Kendall told him how badly she treated Zach the last time she saw him, and said that before the surgery, she wanted to promise Spike that his dad was coming home. Aidan said Greenlee was his priority, but they could work together. He would call with updates every hour. She told him Greenlee was a lucky girl, then left. When she got home, she took a moment before going in to see Erica and Josh. She promised herself she would be okay, Zach would be okay, and Spike would be okay.

Greenlee panicked that they would die in the bomb shelter. Zach told her she had to pull it together. She continued to freak out. Zach told her he wasn't giving up. Finally she began to calm down and started drinking the liquor Zach offered her. After a few chugs, she took a blindfold from Zach and tied it over her eyes. She spoke to Aidan and promised she was coming home to him, and they'd have a life together. Zach got back to digging.

Lily continued to repeat the word "murder." Sean tried to get through to her as Jonathan and Ava arrived at the house. Jack left a message for one of Lily's teachers, and then called Julia and left a message thanking her for her support. Ava attempted to talk to Lily. She offered to switch places with
Lily — to give her her life. When that didn't work, Jon tried. He told her he was trying to solve the mystery, and he needed her help. She told him about Richard. Jonathan showed her a picture of Richie, and realized he was her Richard. He told her he knew about the murder and it wasn't going to happen.
He told her Richie wasn't worthy of her love, and that her love was like no one else's. Ava listened outside the room and was saddened by his words. Jon brought Lily downstairs, and he told Jack that she was all right.

Joe moved Richie out of his room and into the psych ward — where he was greeted by Janet. "I think you took a wrong turn," she quipped.

Tuesday

Tad fed Jenny and gave Krystal the cold shoulder. He expressed his anger that Adam had held Jenny. Krystal pointed out that Adam had helped her and Jenny when she cut her hand. She asked that he respect her feelings. Tad let her know he didn't respect her feelings at all. They continued to argue, and eventually Tad said he was suing for full custody of Jenny. Krystal looked at the papers and saw they were dated weeks ago. "You were planning this all along!" she accused. Tad told her he had no choice anymore. She reminded him that Adam's actions were in the wake of complete devastation at finding out she had cheated on him and was carrying another man's baby. Krystal warned him he was in for a battle.

Adam visited JR in jail and asked if he remembered anything. JR told him he hadn't. Adam informed him that he had paid his bail, but the terms stated he was to be under house arrest at the mansion. JR said there was no way he was going home with him. Adam tried to convince him, to no avail, and left frustrated. Meanwhile, Amanda watched a video she made of JR the night of Zach's accident. In the video she asked him to tell her every bad thing he'd ever done. He admitted to trying to kill Babe, to faking his kidnapping and making Greenlee think her embryos still existed. Amanda chuckled to herself, saying she was finally going to make the Chandlers pay. She called her mother's institution, and told them she wanted her Janet's accommodations upgraded as high as possible. Then she made a call and bought a sports car.

At the hospital, Kendall, Ryan and their family gathered around Spike in preparation for his surgery. Ryan gave him a pep talk, and then Kendall handed him over to Joe. After settling Spike in, Joe came back out and showed them the implant. He left after promising to keep them updated. Kendall broke down, wishing her husband were there with her. Josh walked in and gave her Zach's Red Wings jersey, thinking she might have wanted something of his with her. Josh worked to cheer her up, and Ryan and Annie apologized for not being there for her. Kendall told them she understood they had a lot going on with Richie. Jack arrived, saying he still thought of Kendall as his daughter. Kendall tried to bring up Greenlee, but he said they weren't going to talk about Greenlee right then, they were there for Spike. Julia came out and told them everything was going well so far. She asked Jack about Lily as Erica looked on suspiciously. Jonathan and Ava showed up with a present for Spike. Annie and Ryan commended him on helping Lily.
Erica asked what was wrong with Lily, and Julia explained that she'd had a breakdown, but that Jon helped her through it. Erica couldn't believe Jack hadn't called her. She said she still thought of Lily as a daughter, just as he felt that way about Kendall. Joe came to let them know that everything was going as planned, much to everyone's relief. Ryan told Kendall that he'd seen her on the phone earlier, and she filled them in on her combined efforts with Aidan. Ryan promised they were going to find Zach. Kendall said she knew they would, but for him to miss Spike's surgery he had to be in real trouble. Ava talked to Jonathan about what he'd done with Lily. She couldn't believe how connected they were, and Jon wondered if she was bringing this up because she'd been seeing JR. He knew she'd visited him in jail. She reminded him she was a witness — she'd seen JR the night of the accident. They agreed it wasn't the time or place to continue discussing it. Joe came out and announced that the surgery was over and everything went well. In a couple of weeks they would turn the implant on and see if it worked. Kendall hugged Zach's jersey and told him Spike made it — and he would, too.

Adam returned home to find Amanda in his living room. She told him she had JR's alibi. She was with him all night, and she had proof in the form of a video, which she would provide — for a million dollars. He became distracted when Amanda reminded him of the box of Kathy's things she had brought him when he was blackmailing her. Amanda left, telling him to call her if he wanted to make a deal. Adam pulled the birth certificate he found under the couch out of his pocket. He quickly realized the birth certificate belonged to Julia's little girl, and that Dixie was her birth mother. He called his lawyer and asked him to investigate — he thought he'd found Tad's missing daughter.

Wednesday

Greenlee told Zach she knew why he was in such a bad mood — Spike's operation was that day. She was sure the surgery would make Spike better. Greens confessed that she was guilty of taking Spike. She lost her mind for 15 minutes but quickly realized what she was doing. She would do anything to take it back. Zach had nothing to say in response. Clearly annoyed, Greenlee said it was his turn to make a confession. He told her to help him with the digging.

Ryan and Annie told Kendall there was plenty of reason to celebrate — Joe said Spike's surgery was a success. Jason came to visit and brought a present for Spike. He told her the implant worked for him and he hoped it would for Spike too. Ryan was reassuring Annie that Richie wouldn't be a problem anymore when Kendall brought Jason over and introduced them. Before he left, Kendall promised to let him know how Spike was doing, and said she'd set up a meeting once Spike recovered. Annie left to check on Emma. Ryan admitted he had to tell Kendall something: He saw Aidan escaping with Greenlee and let them go. Kendall wasn't sure how she felt about it, and he asked if she would have confessed if she'd had the chance. Kendall got upset and said she would do anything to bring back Greenlee and Zach, and rushed out. She ran into Hannah in the hall, who blamed her for Zach's disappearance. Kendall was infuriated. They sniped at each other, and Kendall called her out on trying to seduce Zach. Ryan approached after Hannah walked away, and promised Kendall that everything would be alright.

Annie ran into Babe and told her that they had Richie committed to the psych ward. Babe replied that just because they snowed some doctors didn't mean they could snow her. Annie explained that Richie came to Pine Valley to put her in prison. No amount of explanation could convince Babe, however, and in the end she stormed off. Annie joined Kendall and Ryan and told them everything was fine at home. Joe came in and told them he had high hopes that Spike's implants would help him hear again. They went to see him. After saying hello, Ryan and Annie left Kendall alone with Spike so they could go spread the good news. Kendall told Spike she thought he was okay because she'd made a life-changing promise to the cosmos. She wondered how she would keep it.

Janet chatted up Richie, who wanted nothing to do with her unless she could find him a way out of there. Janet warned him she was the last person in the world he wanted to offend. Richie apologized, and Janet accepted, but only if he told her everything about himself. Richie told her about Annie, and that he had leukemia. Janet told him she'd help him escape.

In the woods, Aidan spotted a sleeping bag. When he approached, a man grabbed him from behind, but Aidan quickly got the upper hand. He was convinced the man was in the Army (which he denied), and asked for his help. He explained that he was searching for a woman, and showed him Greenlee and Zach's pictures. The man finally admitted he was a soldier. Aidan told him where he'd already searched, and asked that he search the remaining areas and be discreet about it. He said he would. After Aidan told him the house was open to him, he told him his name was Quentin.

Thursday

Kendall visited Spike and told him how well he was doing, and that Zach wanted to be there. She told him she couldn't keep her promise, because of him and Ian — she couldn't leave them. She would do anything else, but she couldn't abandon her boys. A nurse came in to check on Spike, and she went into the hall, where she found Aidan. He asked how Spike was. Kendall told him Spike pulled through because she made a deal with God, and she couldn't go through with her end of the deal. She couldn't confess to what she did to Greenlee. Aidan told her confessing now wouldn't do any good, and said that Greenlee didn't want her behind bars; she wanted her with Spike. Kendall suspected Aidan was giving up hope of finding them alive, but he explained that he'd waited his whole life for Greenlee, and it couldn't be too late. Kendall was moved by the depth of his feelings for Greens, and promised him they would find them.

Greenlee gave Zach another opportunity to say something about her confession, but he just stared at her. Meanwhile, a snake slithered on a wall unseen. Zach asked Greenlee what food they had left. She told him everything left was inedible. Zach tasted the water and informed her they couldn't drink it. She figured they could at least bathe with it, but Zach just wanted to keep digging. As he did so, Greenlee muttered to herself but suddenly jumped up and cried out. She'd seen something. Zach told her it was nothing, and she searched the floor for the love letters, needing a distraction. She screamed and grabbed her arm — something had bit her. Then she spotted the snake.

Tad visited JR and told him about the custody suit. JR compared it to when Adam tried to cut Dixie out of his life. Tad told JR it wasn't the same. He just couldn't be constantly worried about Adam's presence in Jenny's life. JR told him that Adam had paid off a judge and gotten him bail, but he had to be released into his custody and remain under house arrest. Tad worried about him going back to Adam's home, but said he would support whatever decision JR made.

Krystal vented to Babe about Tad's reaction when he found Adam holding Jenny. Babe told her mom that Tad was justified in flipping out. Krystal couldn't believe Babe was on Tad's side. Babe said she wasn't, and that they would find a way to fix things. Babe suggested Krystal was struggling with not being Jenny's only parent. With Babe, she didn't have to consider anyone else, but Tad has as much say in Jenny's life as Krystal does. Babe left, and Krystal stood deep in thought. Later, Tad walked in as she was packing a suitcase, and demanded to know where she was taking his daughter.

Amanda met with Adam, and told him her price had gone up to $5 million. He insisted she show him the video, and he claimed it wasn't enough proof until she pointed out that the radio was on and an announcer was talking about a one-night concert that was about to begin at 7:30, proving the video was taken during the time Zach was hit. Adam took at jab at Janet, and Amanda warned him he should be playing nice with her. She deleted the video but Adam didn't blink an eye; he knew there were other copies. Amanda conceded and pulled out the backup DVD. Her price, however, remained at $5 million and ownership of JR's yacht. Adam agreed to her terms. Once Amanda confirmed the money was in her account, she handed over the DVD. She left, but only after getting the papers for the yacht. Adam got a call from Livia saying that JR had taken the deal and was on his way home. Adam ordered all of JR's favorite foods to be made, and smiled to himself: He would have paid a lot more than $5 million to keep his son out of jail. Adam greeted JR at the door. Before Adam had a chance to tell JR the good news about the DVD, JR gave a speech about not being there to bond, and just being there to figure things out. Adam told him he wouldn't get involved at all, handed him the DVD, and asked him to put it in the vault on his way upstairs.

Friday

Adam wondered if JR was curious about the content of the DVD he put away. JR assumed it was dirt on some poor person. He then told Adam that Tad was suing Krystal for custody of Jenny. Enraged, Adam tried to leave, but JR stopped him. He reminded him that Adam did the same thing to Dixie, and laid into his dad for what he did to Jenny. Adam insisted Krystal had forgiven him. JR said Adam needed to let Tad and Krystal hash this out alone. If he really loved her he would let her go; he'd be stupid to go up against Tad. Adam called his lawyer to see what he'd found out about Kate. Barry told him that Kathy is definitely Kate.

Krystal told Tad she wasn't running away from him, she was running away from Adam. She agreed that Jenny should be nowhere near Adam. Krystal wanted to start over somewhere else, with Tad. He told her Adam would find them wherever they went, so he refused to go along with her plan. Infuriated, Krystal agreed they would work it out in court, and announced she was taking Jenny to Babe's. Tad said Jenny was not leaving their house. They argued, but eventually Krystal handed her over. Tad took her upstairs as Krystal left.

Kendall and Ryan brought Spike home. After Kendall put him to bed, Ryan asked if she would like to order in dinner. She told him she didn't have to babysit her, but quickly realized he didn't want to leave Spike. Kendall told him he and Annie were welcome to come stay so they could all be together. She also told him about the promise she made to God that she would confess to setting up Greenlee if Spike survived...but she hadn't kept her word. Ryan asked if she regretted what she did. Kendall said she had second thoughts the whole time she was planning it, but she would never be able to forget that Greenlee caused Spike's deafness. Ryan said he thought she'd been punished pretty severely. He asked what she would say to Greenlee if she came through the door right then. Kendall didn't know. Joe stopped by with big news: Spike's post-op test results showed his hearing loss was not caused by Greenlee's car accident, after all. No one was to blame; he would have become deaf regardless.

Quentin brought Aidan a rock covered in blood that he found in near where Aidan had found Greenlee's cell. He warned Aidan that the temperature was supposed to drop considerably, and Zach and Greenlee didn't have gear. Aidan got in his face for suggesting that Greenlee was probably dying or dead, and Quentin shoved him off. Aidan apologized and they went outside to search, all the while talking about their Army experiences. Then Aidan came across something hard on the ground and began uncovering it. They found a hole in the ground. In the bomb shelter, Zach killed the snake as Greenlee panicked that she would die from the poison. Zach said they had to get the poison out, and he sucked on the bite. After, he wrapped it up, gave her the alcohol, and then suggested they eat the snake for dinner. Greenlee said that wasn't happening, and told him he should have let her die. Zach said they had to stick together. He got back to digging, but Greenlee stopped him because she thought she heard something. Meanwhile, Quentin was lowering Aidan into a hole in the ground.

Adam showed up at Tad's and told him he had information he would want — and once he heard it, he'd want to drop the custody suit.
