Monday
At the penthouse, Jesse showed surveillance footage to Ryan and Greenlee of Annie and David together in the park. Ryan was livid, huffing that David had helped Annie kidnap Emma to get back at him for marrying Greenlee. Jesse said that he didn't have enough evidence to pin anything on David. Ryan had an idea as to how to get it.
At Krystal's, Marissa and David discussed his desire to rehabilitate his reputation. David insisted that he genuinely wants to turn over a new leaf and Marissa agreed to assist him. Ryan, Greens and Jesse showed up. Ryan didn't question David about the surveillance footage, telling Greens he planned to use David to lead him to Annie and Emma. Meanwhile, David again asked Liza out. She again declined. David told Liza about his image rehab plan.
Colby and JR argued about Annie at the Chandler mansion. Asher defended JR, but JR said his sister was right about the many mistakes he'd made. Colby went to the park and was touched when Damon called to see how she was doing. Colby went to Krystal's and told Liza about Damon's call. Liza opined that Damon and Colby just weren't meant to be. David went to the park and got a call from Annie. David instructed Annie to go to his cabin. Ryan revealed his presence to David; he had tricked David into thinking the call was really from Annie.
Marissa went to see JR at the mansion and told her ex that she was going to help her dad regain his medical license. JR surprised Marissa by inviting her to move back into the mansion. She refused and accused him of making the offer because Annie was out of the picture. After she left, Asher questioned JR's tactics. Marissa went to the hospital and Greenlee asked to speak to her.
Cara was floored when federal agents arrested her at the hospital for passport fraud. Amanda was mortified as Jake and Tad rushed to Cara's aid, but were unable to stop the agents from dragging her off. Amanda informs Tad that she is to blame. At the yacht club, Cara tried to defend herself as the agents interrogated her (and even accused her of being a terrorist). Jack showed up and offered his legal services to Cara. Cara succeeded in convincing the agents that she isn't a terrorist, but the passport fraud she could not sidestep. Jack told Jake that he would try his best to block Cara's deportation. Amanda steeled herself to come clean with Jake. Tad stunned Cara by bursting into the room and telling that agents that Cara is his fiance.
Tuesday
Ryan tricked David into revealing that he's in cahoots with Annie. David then tried to cover. Ryan told David about Annie's attack on Marissa and told David that he would make sure Marissa knew what David had done.
Greenlee told Marissa that she has a lead on Annie's whereabouts and that David helped Annie escape. Marissa was livid. She went to the park to confront David, who was still with Ryan. David reluctantly spilled that Annie is in Vermont. Ryan called Jesse. Marissa blasted David. Ryan taunted David about losing his daughter before stalking off.
Liza urged Colby to forget about Damon. Colby went to Krystal's to dig for info on Liza's motives. She talked to Opal and began to wonder if Liza had slept with Damon. Colby returned to ConFusion and asked Liza point-blank if she'd bedded Damon. Mother and daughter cried as Liza couldn't deny Colby's charge. David saw the sobfest from across the restaurant.
Tad identified Cara to the feds as the woman he was planning to marry. Cara showed the agents her engagement ring (from Jake).
Amanda struggled to find the words to admit to Jake that she was the one who called the feds. A call from Tad interrupted them. Tad soon returned home with Cara. They broke the news of their "engagement". Jake had a strong reaction to Cara explaining that they would have to be married for three years to pull off the ruse. Jake and Amanda went to the hospital, where he assured her that he was fine with his brother marrying Cara. Back at the house, Tad and Cara discussed their ploy and their future as Mr. and Mrs. Tad Martin.
Scott offered to go to Madison's doctor appointment with her. At the hospital, Mad was overwhelmed when she found out how much her doctor's visit cost. Greenlee had a quick confab with Scott, then was approached by Madison, who asked her if she could work extra hours to offset her medical costs. Ryan updated Greens on his encounter with David. They went back to the Chandler manse to await a call from Annie. Scott advocated for Madison to the insurance company.
Wednesday
Colby and Liza came face-to-face at the Chandler mansion. Colby begged Liza to help her understand how she had ended up in bed with Damon. A weeping Liza did her best to explain. Colby told Liza that she wasn't her mother anymore and threw her out of the house. Asher approached Colby and urged her to talk to him. Colby told Asher about Damon and Liza. He was about to tell her that he already knew when she asked him not to hit her with anything else that day.
Cara told Griffin about her deportation-dodging engagement to Tad. Griffin had many reservations.
Opal and Krystal confronted Tad about his engagement. Tad told them about the immigration situation and they raised their various objections. Tad went to the hospital, where Griffin grilled him. Tad assured Griff that he had Cara's best interests at heart.
Agent Trumbull phoned Amanda and demanded to meet her at ConFusion. Jake approached Amanda and wanted to take her to ConFusion, sending Amanda into a panic. Amanda made an excuse then went to meet with the agent. She tried to get him to drop his investigation. Jake spotted Amanda and she gave him a half-truth version of events. Jake went back to the hospital and talked to Cara about her decision to marry Tad. Griff spied them together and grimaced. Griff warned Jake that Cara is still in love with him. Griff told Jake that someone had turned Cara in to immigration. An arriving Amanda heard and gulped.
Erica snuggled up to Jack at Krystal's. They had a frank conversation about the difficulties they'd been having. Krystal entered to meet with Jack regarding work and she got in a dig at Erica. Krystal told Jack about Tad's engagement. Erica, meanwhile, went to ConFusion and talked to Opal about Caleb and Jack. Erica called Caleb and told him that she had something urgent to discuss with him.
Liza showed up at Tad's, who realized Colby knew about her and Damon. He tried to console Liza. Opal came home and Tad broke the news to Liza about his wedding. Cara entered and Tad identified her as his fiancee.
Thursday
Liza was skeptical about Tad and Cara's engagement and demanded the truth. Tad insisted that nothing fishy was afoot. Liza wouldn't back down without a fight.
In Kendall's house, Ricky took a mysterious phone call from an accomplice, making reference to having scoured the house for the evidence Zach had on them and noting that they hadn't killed him just to have him "bite them in the ass." Ricky had to cover when Erica entered. Gertie (played by HOT IN CLEVELAND's Wendie Malick's alter ego, Victoria) showed up and announced to Erica that she was the new cleaning lady. Gertie's attitude did not agree with Erica, who promptly fired her.
Amanda burst in on Griffin and Jake's talk about who had called the feds about Cara. After defending her husband to Griffin, Amanda privately talked to Jake and, through tears, divulged that she was the one who had turned Cara in. Jake was devastated (and angry). Cara showed up at the tail end of their conversation but didn't overhear anything critical. Amanda and Jake went to the park and had a big blow-up. Amanda was heartbroken when Jake walked away from her.
At the hospital, Ryan updated Kendall on the search for Emma and told her that he needed to tell her something about Zach and his plane crash. He told her that an investigator he'd hired had found a metal box from Zach's plane and Kendall was determined to open it when she got it. Erica went to the hospital; Griffin assured La Kane that Kendall was ready to be discharged.
Ricky met with his mysterious associate, who called him out on not being a real minister. Ricky's sinister side was in full effect during their conversation. Ricky went to the hospital and Erica told him about the box Kendall was going to receive from Zach. They agreed that Ricky should take Kendall home. Back at the house, Ricky probed Kendall about the box. A messenger arrived with said box. Despite Ricky's attempts to get Kendall to give him the box on the premise of her avoiding stress, she insisted upon opening it herself. In the box was a letter from Zach that began, "In the event of my untimely death."
Griffin and Cara commiserated on their grueling days. She went back to Tad's and told him about having run into Jake and Amanda.
Erica went to ConFusion, leaving another frantic message for Caleb, and was displeased to see that Gertie was her bartender! She again needled Erica, who whipped out of her phone to call Kendall to have Gertie fired for the second time in one day.
Friday
Griffin chatted with Madison at the hospital about an experimental study she was signing up for cash. Scott told Madison that he was signing up for the same study. Given their cash flow woes, Scott suggested that Madison move in with him.
Ryan thanked Greenlee for her support. She left to go visit Kendall and he continued to monitor JR's calls. When it appeared that Annie was calling JR, he ran out of the penthouse.
Marissa and JR bickered at the mansion when he claimed to be too busy to discuss AJ. Ryan burst in and demanded answers about Emma's whereabouts. JR begged Ryan for time to do things his way. Marissa revealed to JR that she had helped Ryan bug the house. JR told them that Annie and Emma are in Canada.
Kendall read Zach's letter in which he referred to his own untimely death. Ricky tried to run interference, deflecting Kendall's belief that the letter proved Zach had been murdered. When the boys came home, an arriving Greens offered to take the kids to the park. Ricky took the opportunity to swipe the last page of Zach's note. Greens left after Ryan texted her about the Canada situation. She phoned Griffin and asked him to check in on Kendall. Ricky covered up the missing page with a fake. Ricky left; Griffin showed up to examine Kendall. Kendall read the new last page of the letter and freaked out because it didn't say what she remembered it saying.
Marissa saw Scott and Madison and was shocked to hear that they are expecting and moving in together. Scott and Mad completed the move. Emma called Mad, who tried to figure out the little girl's whereabouts. Emma didn't know and hung up when she saw Annie coming. Mad called Ryan and told him what Emma had said. "Annie saw us," a crestfallen Ryan told JR and Greens.
Ryan, Greenlee and JR went to Canada to try to intercept Annie at the honeymoon suite where JR had arranged to meet her.
Ricky brought the last page of the letter to Diane and warned her that the info was stored on a hard drive that they had to find to cover their tracks.
