AMC Week of February 23, 2009
Monday
David commanded Krystal never to answer his cell phone. She asked him where
he had gone when he recently went AWOL. He fibbed that he'd gone to
Manhattan for a concert. He took off when, per his instructions, a nurse
called to inform him that JR and Amanda had arrived at the hospital.... Adam
overheard JR planning to make a donation to Babe's wing and blasted him,
noting that Chandler Enterprises was going down the toilet. David arrived
and goaded Adam about his business woes.... Frank warned Amanda that her
secret about the baby's paternity might be hard to keep.... After Amanda's
exam, David demanded an update on her efforts to get JR to fall off the
wagon. Seeing JR approaching, Amanda told David to meet her at the casino
later. David asked Frankie how Amanda was doing and demanded to see her
chart. David hinted that he thought Frankie may have falsified Amanda's
records. "I play by the rules," insisted Frank. David, Krystal and JR left
for a meeting regarding the Campbell's benefit. After the meeting, David
praised Krystal for her great ideas then left to meet up with Amanda. Amanda
told David that she saw him outside of the chapel in Connecticut the day
that Greenlee died. David warned Amanda not to tick him off.
Annie received a visit from Aidan in her hospital room. She thanked him for
never giving up on her. She hoped to see Emma before she went back to Oak
Haven. Aidan said he would ask Ryan.
Ryan asked Opal to help him communicate with Greenlee. Opal tried to summon
Greens but Ryan's desperation and anger interfered, per Opal. Opal beseeched
Ryan to let go of his desire for revenge, but that was not in the cards for
Ryan, he made clear.
At the casino, Reese pleaded with Zach to help her stop Bianca from leaving
with Gabrielle. Zach refused, making it clear that he would not choose Gaby
over Kendall. Zach advised Reese to let Bianca and Gaby go. Next, Reese went
to see Ryan. She asked him for his help; he threw her out. Aidan was Ryan's
next uninvited guess. He flatly turned down Aidan's request to let Annie see
Emma.
At ConFusion, Erica tried to convince Kendall to help Bianca protect Gaby
from Reese. Kendall's fury at Bianca remained apparent as she said that all
she shared now with Bianca was blood. The women sat down with Bianca's
attorney, who warned them that Reese had a legal right to Gaby. As they
discussed their options, Adam came to pull Erica away regarding his
plummeting finances. Erica said that he would get his money back, but right
now she was focused on her family. She stalked off and he was approached by
Zach, who got in a dig about Adam's grim finances. Zach joined the Kane
women and informed them that he'd told Reese to leave town. Kendall was not
impressed. Reese showed up as Kendall was trashing Reese was trashing her
to the attorney. She announced that she would sign whatever Bianca wanted
her to sign. Reese told Bianca that she hoped that one day Binks would
forgive her. Adam told Reese that she shouldn't turn her belly up to the
Kane clan.
When Kendall and Zach returned home, she informed him that they were going
to sleep in separate rooms.
Tuesday
Krystal and David got intimate at Wildwind. They toasted to Babe — and to
themselves — for keeping her memory alive.
At the casino, Adam tried to worm his way into Reese's good graces and
offered her custody advice. Reese insisted that she didn't want a battle.
At ConFusion, Amanda and Jake discussed her concern about how to safeguard
her baby from David. JR entered and Amanda and Jake covered the real subject
of their conversation. After Jake left, JR asked what they were really
discussing and she claimed that she was upset about how much Adam dislikes
her. They went to the hospital, where David waved in a loaded way in
Amanda's direction. Amanda brushed past Adam, who was there for a cardio
exam. JR threatened to move out of the mansion unless Adam backs off on the
issue of Amanda.... David grabbed Amanda in the hallway and ordered her to
get JR drunk at the benefit and claim that JR was about to drive off drunk
with Little A. "I won't," declared Amanda. They got into it and Krystal
observed as David warned Amanda that she was one DNA test away from being
kicked to the curb by JR. Krystal asked what was going on and they both
covered.
Kendall and Zach got into another argument at their place. He beseeched her
to express her pain and anger, unnerved by her calm iciness.
Bianca had drinks at ConFusion with Jack and Erica. She told Jack that she
considers herself his daughter, which he said meant a lot to him.
Bianca and Erica came to see Kendall and to say good-bye to the boys. Bianca
and Zach said a tense farewell. Erica blasted Zach for not trying harder to
keep his daughter in town. Bianca asked if Kendall would ever forgive her.
"Probably," Kendall responded. "But not anytime soon." Still, she wouldn't
let Bianca hug her. When the Kane ladies went to the casino, they found
Reese, who asked if she could say good-bye to her daughters. Binks said
she'd go upstairs to get them and returned with the kids. Reese broke down
crying as she held Gaby for the last time; the Kanes were unmoved. Zach
showed up and Bianca gave Zach the chance to hold Gaby. Bianca wept as Zach
said good-bye to the child. As all of the Kanes said good-bye, Reese wept,
too. With difficulty, Kendall and Bianca shared the hug that Kendall had
previously denied her.
Opal came to Ryan's penthouse, which was a mess, and called out for its
occupant. He materialized and his demeanor concerned Opal. After she left,
Ryan had a mournful series of flashbacks about Greenlee. Jack stopped by as
Ryan was on his way out and asked Ryan to come with him to the river in
Connecticut. "I need to say good-bye to Greenlee," Jack explained. Ryan
refused to accompany Jack and stormed out. He arrived at ConFusion, where he
encountered Zach and they had another tense exchange. Later, Opal returned
Emma to the penthouse and Ryan was moved by the gift Emma gave him. Emma
wanted to try to send the present to Greenlee in heaven. Being with Emma put
a smile on Ryan's face.
At the hospital, Krystal and Jake discussed her work with the Campbell's
benefit.
Wednesday
David summoned JR to ConFusion. David proposed a truce. JR was dubious but
agreed to keep things civil at the benefit that night. Adam arrived and
attacked David; JR pulled him off and David left. Reese arrived and Adam
asked if he could escort her to the hospital benefit.
With help from Randi and Amanda, Krystal set up the Go Red Ball. Krystal
tried to get Amanda to tell her what was really going on between her and
David. Amanda insisted that nothing was up.... Frank assured Amanda that he
had covered his tracks about her doctored medical records. Jake and David
showed up and Jake privately asked Amanda if JR knows that she's being
blackmailed by David. "No," admitted Amanda. Jake figured out that David is
her baby's daddy. "Welcome to my hell," sighed Amanda.... David tried to
assure Krystal that nothing was going on between him and Ms. Dillon. He gave
her some meds to reduce her anxiety.
A morose Jack met with Erica at the casino. He told her that he'd been
unable to say good-bye to Greenlee in Connecticut. Erica tried to comfort
Jack.
At the Slater house, Zach and Kendall argued over his obvious upset about
Gabrielle's departure. He admitted that he would never stop thinking about
Gaby, but that he wanted Kendall, not Reese. He went to the casino, where he
bucked Erica's efforts to empathize with him about Gaby's departure.
At the hospital, Annie was chipper until Aidan arrived and broke the news
that Ryan refused to let her see Emma. Annie flipped and lashed out at
Aidan. Aidan got her to calm down and they grew closer. Angie observed the
intimacy between them when she interrupted with the news that the Oak Haven
folks were there to take her back to the facility. Annie was scared but
Aidan assured her that Oak Haven would be better this time around. Aidan
admitted to Angie that he has strong feelings for Annie.
The ball got underway. David and JR did their best to remain cordial as they
greeted the arriving guests. David made a dig at Randi's porn past; Frank
tried to comfort her. Jake and Amanda discussed her paternity pickle.
Kendall didn't want to discuss Zach with Erica. When Reese entered on Adam's
arm, Kendall confronted her. Zach sidled up to Kendall to add his voice to
the "Reese should leave town" chorus. Reese said she was staying regardless
of what they wanted. Erica berated Adam for bringing Reese to the party.
David took the mic and spoke about the cardiac wing opening in Babe's
memory. When it was JR's turn to speak, David put the screws to Amanda,
reminding her that he expects her to get JR drunk that night. Krystal put a
pill in a glass of wine but JR summoned her to the podium before she could
drink it. Erica gave Reese a tongue-lashing and Reese accidentally downed
Krystal's pill-spiked glass.... Krystal overheard Jake and Frank discussing
that David is the father of Amanda's baby. Krystal immediately confronted
Amanda.... Zach took Kendall aside and Reese heard Kendall reminding Zach
that she was the one who drove Greenlee off the road.
Thursday
At the Campbell's benefit, Krystal confronted Amanda about David being the
father of her baby. She tried to deny it, then stalked over to Frank and
Jake and blasted them for talking about the paternity secret within earshot
of Krystal.... Reese overheard Kendall talking to Zach about how she had
been driving the car the night Greenlee died. JR and David continued to make
nice, which confused Tad. After having more icy words with Erica, Adam tried
to stop Reese from leaving. Krystal stopped short of telling David the
truth.... Adam told Erica and Kendall that
Reese had gone back to the casino to pack up her things. "Happy now?" he
snapped. David gave a speech in Babe's memory, then passed the mic to
Kendall, who announced a $250,000 donation to the American Heart Association
in honor of Greenlee. Erica urged the other partygoers to donate generously
and tried to console a weepy Kendall. Brot and Taylor arrived but Brot was
testy and lashed out at Taylor. He stalked off; Tad asked her if she was all
right. Adam complimented JR on the speech he gave about Babe but warned him
against donating too much money.... Amanda told Krystal that yes, the baby
is David's, but pleaded with her to keep quiet. Jake sidled up and pressured
Krystal to remain quiet by suggesting that David would leave Krystal in an
instant if he knew that Amanda was carrying his baby. Krystal agreed not to
say anything for JR's sake.... Kendall apologized to Zach for not mentioning
him in her speech. "You never did come back to me" after she got out of the
coma, he suggested. He walked away.... Taylor opened up to Tad about her
problems with Brot. She found Brot outside and apologized for having made
him feel uncomfortable. Brot told her that he knew he had been tough to be
around. "Yes," she nodded. The sweetly made up and kissed.... When JR
approached Amanda and Krystal, they covered what they were talking about.
Amanda then went to David and delivered all the money he had given her to
get JR drunk back to him, in the form of a donation to Babe's wing. While JR
thanked Kendall for her generous contribution, David warned Amanda that he
still expected her to get JR drunk.
Ryan went to the casino and ordered five scotches. When Reese showed up, he
was nasty to her, but invited her to sit down. He informed Reese that he
intended to steal the casino from Zach. Reese left and the bartender refused
to serve more liquor to Ryan. Reese ended up in a minor car accident
(spurred on by the pill she'd accidentally ingested at the benefit). Adam
showed up and tended to Reese, whisking her back to the mansion. Zach
arrived and asked Ryan what he was doing there. Ryan told her he was there
for the entertainment, e.g., watching Reese drive her car into a tree.
Kendall's arrival prevented Ryan from being tossed out. Ryan wasted no time
in reporting to Kendall that Zach had torn off after Reese. Ryan informed
Kendall that he was going to take Zach down and started to destroy the place
to make his point.
Pete came to the Chandler manse and told Colby that he got an e-mail from
Greenlee "from beyond the grave." He explained that he had been doing some
corporate espionage work for Greens and that the e-mail, sent the day that
Greenlee died, concerned Adam. Colby was touched when he flipped open his
laptop and she saw that a picture of her was his screen saver. Colby reeled
when she absorbed that Erica had lost all of Adam's investment in Fusion.
Colby panicked about ending up broke. Reese and Adam arrived and Reese let
it slip to Adam that Kendall was the one driving. Adam's wheels started to
turn but he assured her that he wouldn't breathe a word about what she had
just told him. Zach then showed up at his door. "Well, well," grinned Adam.
Friday
Krystal praised David for his performance at the benefit. David blasted
Amanda to Krystal. He said he had an errand to run and left; Angie entered
and Krystal told her that David, not JR, impregnated Amanda. Angie was
stunned to learn of Frank's involvement. Angie begged Krystal not to tell
David; she said she wouldn't. Angie confronted Jake about getting her son
involved but had to admit that keeping David from the baby was worthy project.
Adam refused to let Zach in when he came to the manse to see Reese. Reese
regretted telling Adam that Kendall was driving the car when Greenlee died.
Adam cautioned Reese that remaining involved with Zach will get her hurt.
Adam promised never to use the info about Zach and Kendall against Reese.
Adam told JR that Reese would be staying at the mansion. When Reese went
upstairs, JR demanded to know what Adam was up to.
Kendall tried to stop Ryan from destroying the casino. He hurt his hand as
she warned him that if he hurts Zach, it will hurt her. She nearly
collapsed; he tended to her as Zach arrived. Zach ordered Ryan to leave,
then told Kendall that Reese knew the truth about who was driving the car.
Kendall said it was time to come clean, as she didn't want to owe Reese
anything. Zach called Reese and asked her to come to the casino. Reese told
Adam she was going to see Zach and he offered to drive her. When Reese
arrived, Kendall was icy to her. They told Reese that they know she knows
that Kendall was the driver, but Reese insisted that she wasn't going to
tell the cops. An arriving Adam said that while Reese may not use the info
against them, he most certainly would.
JR told Amanda that she and the baby were the best things that had happened
to him since Babe died. As she nursed her swollen feet, JR left to go change
and David entered the living room, surprising Amanda. She tried to dissuade
him from making her go through with his plan to make it look like JR was
poised to take Little Adam on a drunken joyride. He wouldn't budge. Amanda
threw him out before JR returned. They chatted flirtatiously and Amanda
popped in a DVD that she claimed was of the wonderful speech he'd given at
the benefit — but it was actually shots of Babe. JR became upset, so Amanda
excused herself. "I'm sorry, Babe," uttered JR mournfully. Jake watched from
the patio as JR was about to down a drink; a weepy Amanda burst back into
the room and grabbed the drink, telling JR not to do it for Little Adam's
sake, the baby's, and hers. JR ran off; Jake entered and praised Amanda for
not having gone through with the awful scheme. He promised her that
everything would be all right. JR returned to find Amanda crying in Jake's
arms. "What the hell is going on here?" he barked.
Angie examined Ryan's hand and gave him advice as to how to cope with the
loss of Greenlee. He wept in Angie's arms.
At Wildwind, a pensive Krystal reunited with David. She grilled him about
where he had been; he was evasive but tender. Krystal told David that would
marry him. He was thrilled and promised to love her for the rest of her
"beautiful life."
