AMC Week of February 8, 2010
Monday
Amanda was upset that Jake was willing to lie under oath to get David out of their lives. Tad left an urgent message for Liza then saw her at the police station. He begged Liza to stop Jake from lying to the cops to nail David. Amanda, Liza and Tad all tried to reason with Jake. Jesse came to fetch Jake, who said that he was ready to make a statement claiming to have been an eyewitness to David's sabotage of Fusion. Amanda was crushed. Jesse quickly saw through Jake's fibs and stalked out. At ConFusion, Jake continued to look for a way to pin the computer sabotage on David. Tad declared that this was an intervention; they wanted him to stop his vendetta. Tad followed Liza when she got upset and walked out.
Erica was stunned when Jack showed up at her door unexpectedly. She figured that he was there because of the attack on Fusion. Jack surprised Erica by revealing that he knows about her involvement with Ryan. He denied that he was jealous. Jack railed at Erica for her insensitivity toward Kendall, Bianca and Spike. She slapped him for trying to use her grandson to humiliate her. Jack told Erica that he cares about her and asked her about "this thing" between Ryan and her. Jack warned that Ryan wasn't over Greenlee and he didn't want to see her get hurt. Erica suggested that Jack is still grieving for Greenlee but that she wasn't willing to walk away from Ryan. Jack told Erica that he and Kendall were speaking again and that he feels that he's lost his heart because he lost her. "You are hell to get over," he said. "What we had was life-changing."
Ryan barged into Wildwind to find Erica, who wasn't there. When Greens entered, she quickly took cover. She listened as Ryan accused David of hating him for the love he and Greenlee had shared. Ryan told David that he had moved on because he'd had no choice. After he left, Greens said that Ryan's comments had made it easier for her to let go of him. David had to leave to go see Jesse about his fingerprints being on the flash drive. David said they could work on their wedding plans when he got back. David signed for a delivery of wedding dresses for Greens to try on before leaving. Alone, Greens looked at the dresses and flashed back to her wedding to Ryan.
Ryan went to the police station and told Jesse that he didn't know what had gone down between David and Erica because he couldn't find Erica. Ryan left and David showed up. Jesse told him that he had an eyewitness placing him at Fusion. Jesse played the tape of Jake talking for David. David told Jesse it was a weak effort and that he doubted that Jesse would arrest him. David went to ConFusion and told Tad, Liza, Jake and Amanda that he's getting married on Valentine's Day and they're all invited. Tad wanted to know who the bride was; David grinned that he'd just have to come to the wedding and find out.
Erica and Jack's intense reunion was interrupted by a phone call from Ryan. She told him that now wasn't a good time and that she would see him tomorrow. He reminded her that they were going on a vacation the next day. He hung up confused.
Tuesday
JR told Adam that he couldn't come over because he had caught a cold from Little Adam. Colby became anxious when Annie relayed that JR wasn't feeling well. "He sounded half-dead," said Adam gruffly, which upset Colby. Colby revealed to Adam that she knows that JR has cancer. Adam refused to believe that the disease would return but that if it did, he would have to rethink "a whole lot of things." Ryan came over with Emma and told Annie that he needed a favor (to watch Emma while he was gone). Annie expressed her surprise over Ryan and Erica's relationship. Later, Annie vented to Scott about Colby's efforts to get Adam to change the merit trust. He was clearly rattled to be working so closely with her. She asked him if he believed that she didn't scheme anymore to get her way and seemed poised to kiss....
At Fusion, Madison, Randi and Erica continued to work on restoring the company's computer system. Erica called Kendall, who claimed not to have a problem with Erica and Ryan's involvement. Kendall told Erica that she and Zach were going away for a while and would be incommunicado. Erica summoned Opal and told her that she had to end things with him. La Kane feared that she had been using Ryan as an escape. She updated Opal on her conversations with Jack and Kendall about Ryan. She told Ryan that she couldn't go away with him. He was crestfallen. With difficulty, she told Ryan that they had to face reality: "We can't do this anymore." Ryan was bummed. She said that she didn't love Ryan the way that he was meant to be loved and didn't want him to settle for less.
David met with a wedding planner without Greenlee. Greens texted her opinions on the floral arrangement from the hallway. Alone with David, Greenlee encouraged him not to give up on his daughter. David told Greens that she had to tell Jack that she's alive before the wedding. David suggested that Greens go to the chapel. When she got there, Jack, who had been summoned there by David, was floored by the sight of his not-so-dead daughter.
Marissa tended to JR and was stunned when she received an invitation to David's wedding. She intended to storm over to Wildwind to tell her dad how she felt. JR urged her to ignore him. Adam came by to see JR and deduced that his son is out of remission. He embraced JR.
At the police station, Natalia ordered Brot to leave her alone. He was touched when he found that she had been writing a positive review of his performance. Natalia was tickled when she found a Valentine and some candy from a secret admirer. She assumed that they were from Brot and was embarrassed when she got a text from Jesse confirming that her dad had given her the card and treats.
At ConFusion, Damon told Colby that Bailey had left town with the baby. Colby vented about her stepmom and told Damon about the trust her father had set up. She didn't appreciate his joking attitude toward her woes.
Wednesday
Scott and Annie couldn't resist their attraction and kissed passionately. Colby watched from the window. When her cell phone rang, Scott and Annie jumped apart and tried to act like nothing had happened when Colby strolled in. After she left, Annie told Scott that they had to come up with a cover story.... Damon called and invited Colby to ConFusion make it up to her after their earlier fight.
Adam and JR reconnected over Adam's realization that JR is out of remission. Marissa returned home as JR explained that he'd kept his condition a secret because he didn't want Adam to look at him with pity. JR became upset and collapsed. Adam called the house to talk to Colby. He told Annie to find Colby and send her to the hospital. Annie called Colby, who was at ConFusion and decided not to answer. At the hospital, Adam sent JR out of his room. Scott and Annie arrived and Annie assumed that JR had fallen off the wagon. Adam revealed JR's true condition. Scott felt guilty. Colby arrived and Adam told her that he was proud of her for having kept JR's secret. Colby went to see JR, who thanked her for keeping his secret. Colby excused herself when JR's doctor arrived. In the hallway, Colby told Scott that she saw him making out with Annie. She made it clear to Scott that if he didn't work with her to bring down Annie, she would have to get rid of him.... Adam opened up to Annie about how much he wants JR back in his life.... Scott apologized to Marissa for having thought the worst of JR. She suggested that he go in to see his cousin. Scott took her advice. "I'm an ass," said Scott to JR. While they bonded, Colby confronted Annie about her make-out session with Scott. Annie hissed that Adam would never believe Colby, who whipped out her phone and showed Annie that she'd taken a video on her phone. Annie grabbed the phone and destroyed it.
Erica told Ryan that it was over between them. They agreed that they were both a little sad but wanted to remain friends. He spoke about Greenlee, then apologized, but Erica wanted him to be able to talk to her about Greens. He was grateful. Ryan got a call from Jesse, who wanted to see him. Erica urged him to go. After he left, Erica thought back to her conversation with Jack while Ryan got word from Jesse about David's Valentine's Day wedding.
At the chapel, Jack reeled from the sight of his presumed-dead daughter. He swept Greenlee into a hug. She didn't want to get into a recap of how she had survived but when he pressed her, Greens broke the news that she had opted not to contact her loved ones. David arrived and listened as Jack said he wanted to thank the person who had healed her. David revealed himself. Jack was livid and accused David of playing God. Greens defended David and told Jack that she doesn't want Ryan to know that she's alive. He got the impression that she intended to reveal herself to Ryan on Valentine's Day and she didn't correct him. Greens urged Jack to go back to Europe as planned. Erica phoned Jack and told her that she needed to see him and stressed that it was important. He agreed to meet her.... Greenlee bolted upstairs when someone showed up unexpectedly at Wildwind. It was Ryan, who called David a son of a bitch for scheduling his wedding for Valentine's Day. Greens listened in.
Thursday
Tad and Liza canoodled at ConFusion. She was surprised to see that Damon was now working there; they exchanged unpleasantries. Liza claimed to Tad that she had lost her appetite. He tried to calm her down. Tad asked Liza to come with him to David's wedding. Krystal phoned to report that Kathy wasn't feeling well. Tad and Liza raced back home, where Liza tried to conceal her worry when Krystal broke the news to her that she and Rob had split.
At the police station, Natalia thought that Brot was asking her out but he clarified that he was asking her to go to a charity bowling event and that they could meet there.
At Fusion, Jesse told Randi and Madison that he'd caught a break in the case. He went back to the police station to interview a hacker who Jesse thought could reveal the culprit's identity. Natalia took a crack at grilling him. He agreed to talk in exchange for a date with Natalia.
Jack thought about his promise to Greenlee not to tell anyone that she's alive as he approached Erica's door. She thanked him for coming over and told Jack that she had ended things with Ryan. She noted to Jack that she and Jack hadn't really gotten closure with each other, but he was hugely distracted. When he snapped to, he told Erica that he agreed with her assessment that the situation required honesty. Opal showed up and warmly welcomed Jack back to town. He insisted that he had to leave. Erica told Opal that she broke up with Ryan. Erica was floored by David's wedding invitation. Erica told Opal about how distracted Jack had been, "like he'd seen a ghost."
Greenlee hid as Ryan railed at David for planning a wedding for Valentine's Day. After decking David, Ryan warned David not to hurt Erica. Ryan stormed out and Greens yelled at David for antagonizing Ryan, since now he wouldn't come to the wedding. David urged Greens to go after Ryan and tell him that she still loves her. David insisted that Ryan is still in love with her. Jack showed up to see his daughter. He informed her that he wasn't leaving town, but would respect her desire to reveal that she's alive in her own time. After he left, David assured Greens that Ryan would attend the wedding once he saw the invitation.
Ryan went to the police station to see Jesse, who had to hold him back from attacking the hacker who was in the interrogation room. Jesse told Ryan that the partial fingerprint on the flash drive belonged to Greenlee but Ryan balked at the notion that Greens would have given David the power to destroy Fusion.... The hacker, escorted by Brot and Natalia, went to Fusion and began to restore the computer system. Brot was upset that she had agreed to dine with the creep.... Ryan went to the Martin house to talk about David's mystery bride with Liza, Tad and Krystal. Tad agreed to go to Gloucester to work on Nurse Gayle. Liza was startled to hear that he was leaving right away and going to the city where a restraining order had been taken out against him. He assured her that he would be careful.... Ryan got home and opened his wedding invitation. He seethed when he saw that David had put a butterfly inside it.
Friday
Jake called Amanda out for trying to seduce him to stop him from going after David. She was upset that he was dead-set on going to David's wedding. Liza came by and said that she and Tad were going to the wedding. Jake stormed out after insisting that he was going to the ceremony. Amanda and Liza commiserated over their inability to talk their guys out of their desire for revenge against David.
Greens told David that she was worried about her dad and Ryan. He assured her that everything would be fine. David presented Greenlee with a red rose and wished her a happy Valentine's Day. She was moved by his gifts, including Leo's St. Christopher medal. Jake arrived at Wildwind to have words with David and Greenlee took cover. Jake departed; David was honest with Greenlee about what he had put Amanda through. She said that she wanted to marry him anyway. Greenlee pressed David to tell her what he'd done to ensure that Ryan would attend the wedding. He copped to sending Ryan a dead butterfly. Greens decided to do something extreme to lure Ryan to the wedding.
Ryan went to see Erica at Fusion and told her about the dead butterfly David had enclosed in his wedding invitation. He admitted that he felt Greenlee's presence. Tad called Ryan and asked to meet with him about what he'd learned in Gloucester. Ryan wouldn't promise Erica that he wouldn't fight with David again. Erica went to ConFusion, where Jack was organizing a party. He was evasive about what he was celebrating. Erica assumed it had to do with another woman. When Erica reported that David was getting married that day, the color drained from Jack's face and he raced out.
Brot, Natalia, Jesse and the hacker looked at the security footage of the Fusion break-in. Jesse noted that it looked like the culprit was a woman. Tad and Ryan met with Jesse. Tad reported that David's bride was not Gayle and that Gayle had referenced a mysterious woman patient. The men concluded that the woman in the security footage was likely David's bride. Ryan went home and poured himself a drink. He was looking at the dead butterfly when Greenlee called, said, "Happy Valentine's Day, Ryan," and then hung up.
JR told Marissa that he was feeling better and announced that he wanted to go to David's wedding. He talked her into attending. Krystal agreed to attend David's wedding as Opal's guest. The foursome met up at the Wildwind chapel. The Martins joined them. David sauntered in and thanked everyone for coming. "We're ready to begin," he announced shortly. David took his place at the altar. Greenlee entered with a voluminous veil that obscured her face. The guests peered at her, trying to figure out her identity. David began to speak his vows. When it was the bride's turn to say her vows, Jack raced in, screaming, "Why? Why?" Erica trailed him and was present as Greenlee lifted her veil and gasps echoed throughout the church. "I'm getting married, Dad," stated Greenlee. Ryan showed up and his jaw dropped as he asked hesitantly, "Greenlee?"
