AMC Week of February 9, 2009
Monday
Ryan was stunned to encounter Aidan at Oak Haven. Aidan revealed that he'd been there all along and that he believed that Sinclair had a connection to Richie and was gunning for Annie. Aidan asked Ryan to work with him to safeguard Annie. Ryan didn't know if he could trust Aidan.
Sinclair apologized to Annie for her earlier outburst. Annie insisted that she didn't murder Richie. Sinclair maintained that she wanted to help Annie. Annie said that Sinclair reminded her of her brother and that Sinclair couldn't push her around. A frustrated Sinclair marched into Aidan's cell and said, "This ends now." Ryan listened from behind the door as Sinclair came close to slipping and confirming her connection to Richie. Sinclair left. Through the vents, Annie told Aidan that she had followed his instructions. Aidan praised her for her performance with Sinclair. Ryan, impressed with how strong Annie sounded, agreed to work with Aidan. Ryan sneaked out as Annie told Aidan that he's the only one she trusts. Sinclair caught Ryan on his way out and demanded to know what he was doing there.
Erica and Greenlee put their heads together about how to manage Fusion's financial crisis. Pete was pleased by the détente. Erica expressed her concern about Kendall to Greens. The ladies concurred that something seemed off with Kendall. When they left Pete in charge of the office, he lost his contact lenses while goofing off. He summoned Colby, who helped him search for the missing items. Colby admitted to Pete that she missed the old him.
Reese and Bianca got into a fight when Reese implied that they would be better off had Kendall not woken up. Reese accused Bianca of siding with her family against them and stormed out. Erica came by with the seating chart for the wedding. Bianca was distracted by the argument she had just had with Reese. La Kane comforted her. Binks promised to fix things with Reese, and La Kane promised to redo the chart so that Greens was no longer seated behind a pillar at her own wedding.
Kendall rebuffed Zach's efforts to kiss her good night. He insisted that they deal with their conflict. Kendall tried to explain how remote she feels, like she's watching her life from the outside in, given all the things that happened while she was comatose. He urged her to let him in. She reminded him that she used to ask the same of him, and he had denied her. After Zach left, Greenlee arrived with a dress for Kendall to wear to her wedding. Post-fashion show, Kendall began to vent to Greens about Zach serving as the sperm donor for Gabrielle. Greens said that in Kendall's shoes, she'd be "mad as hell."
Reese and Zach encountered each other at the casino. Zach returned home and asked Greenlee how she seemed to her. "Kendall's still Kendall," Greens offered. "And you're still not off the hook." .... Reese returned to her room and apologized to Bianca. "Me too," said Binks.
Tuesday
Natalia shared her excitement over police training with Jesse at ConFusion. They chatted about Rebecca. Nat then surprised Jesse with a birthday cupcake, a gift and an announcement: She and Rebecca planned to move out to give Angie and Jesse their privacy. Nat gave Jesse a card from Rebecca.
At the hospital, Frank, Angie and Jake celebrated their return to work. David entered and broke up their chat. Taylor, who was hanging out with Brot, congratulated Jake on getting his job back. Talking to Brot and Taylor got to Jake, who excused himself. David warned Frank that he, Angie and Jake would never succeed in ousting him from the hospital.
At the Martin house, Krystal and Tad broke up their estate to finalize their divorce. Tad refused to sell the house. Tad gave Krystal the property beneath The Comeback. The attorneys left and Krystal told Tad that she knew he had planted the drugs at Wildwind, but that she'd kept quiet so that Angie could get her job back. Tad gave Krystal the blueprints of the café she had talked about building on the site of The Comeback. "Good luck," he
offered. "Thank you," she replied before leaving. Jake came over and asked Tad if he'd worked on his moves. Tad said yes, adding that it wasn't going to be pretty.
At Oak Haven, Aidan assured Annie (through the vents) that she would get the help she needs. Meanwhile, Ryan fibbed to Sinclair about what he was doing there. Annie glimpsed him and called out to him not to leave. Aidan urged her to remain calm as she began weeping.... In Sinclair's office, Sinclair probed Ryan about Richie. She secretly recorded him saying that Ryan had killed Annie in cold blood. He then broke Sinclair's "Chicago" mug, provoking a near-violent outburst from the shrink. She pulled herself together and summoned an orderly to escort Ryan out of the building. She
clutched a shard of the mug tenderly.
Back at Wildwind, David caught Krystal taking a pill but said it was fine. When Krystal showed him plans for a café to be built on the grounds of the Comeback, David had a bad reaction, then changed his tune when Krystal noted that she and Babe had shared good times there.
Brot and Taylor had a great time hanging out at ConFusion. He said that talking to the patients made him feel like a stud again. Across the room, Nat stalled for time but Jesse tried to leave ‹ until a chorus of "For He's A Jolly Good Fella" broke out, led by Jesse's family, topped off by Tad jumping out of a cake in a cop uniform and doing a birthday striptease for Jesse. "Looks like Martin finally found his calling," scoffed David as he arrived with Krystal. They quickly left. Krystal, Frank, Randi, Angie and Tad congratulated themselves for pulling off the surprise. A call came from Rebecca's number; Jesse took it, thinking it was his ex. But it was a doctor
in Denver informing Jesse that Rebecca had passed. Nat accepted comfort from her dad. Frank told Randi and Angie that he had known that Rebecca was dying but had been sworn to secrecy. Angie sighed that she should have known, since Rebecca behaved so strangely before she left. At the loft, Nat wept and Jesse read aloud Rebecca's poignant farewell letter to her daughter. Nat ran out, saying that she had to be alone.
Sinclair tormented Annie with the tape of Ryan saying that Annie had killed Richie in cold blood. Sinclair pushed Annie to her breaking point and finally she snapped, confirming that she'd killed Richie because he was evil. "Now that you've confessed," said a smug Sinclair, "all the pain will go away." She left and Annie ranted at Ryan's picture, "How could you do this to me?"
Aidan broke into Sinclair's computer and found hidden files that showed that Sinclair had had an indiscretion with an inmate at the correctional facility in Chicago (i.e., Richie). Ryan grinned a "pay dirt!" kind of grin.
Back at the Martin house, Tad and Jake discussed their romantic woes. Tad observed that seeing Taylor with Brot was obviously difficult for Jake. Jake and Tad discussed him moving in with Tad.
Krystal and David returned to Wildwind. He told her that he threw the blueprints into the fire because he wanted them to do something together in Babe's memory. He offered his support of a coffee shop. They snuggled together.
Wednesday
Erica was aflutter with wedding preparations. She left when David came by
the Slater house to examine Kendall. She asked him for a favor: Declaring
her medically unable to attend Bianca's wedding. When Zach came home, he saw
through David's comment that he advised against Kendall going to the
wedding. He confronted Kendall, who admitted that she didn't want to go to
the wedding. They had words over Kendall referring to Zach as Gabrielle's
father, as opposed to donor. Zach accused Kendall of sounding like a child.
He refused to go without her.
At Oak Haven, Annie couldn't rid her thoughts of Greenlee and Ryan's
imminent nuptials. Aidan tried to get her to unblock the grate, to no avail.
Aidan demanded to see Sinclair. Sinclair told Aidan that Annie copped to
Richie's murder. "Finally, justice will be served," the doc crowed, noting
that Annie will now spend the rest of her life behind bars. Aidan winced as
Sinclair played Annie's taped confession. Sinclair understood when Aidan
claimed he wanted the satisfaction of looking Annie in the eye before he
left the facility. When Aidan and Annie came face-to-face, he informed her
that he was leaving, and whispered in her ear to keep playing along with
Sinclair. After Aidan left, Sinclair gloated to Annie that her so-called
friend, Aidan, had betrayed her. Annie was shaken.
Ryan and Tad discussed how to prove that Sinclair and Richie were involved
in Chicago. Greenlee arrived and Ryan covered, explaining privately to Tad
that he was keeping Greenlee in the dark about Aidan being at Oak Haven.
Ryan and Tad left. After leaving Oak Haven, Aidan went to the penthouse,
catching Greenlee trying on her wedding dress. She was thrown when Aidan
explained that he had spent the last few months in Oak Haven. Ryan returned
home and asked Aidan what he was doing there. Aidan explained that Sinclair
kicked him out of Oak Haven after Annie confessed to the murder. Ryan
reported that he got proof that Sinclair had lost her job due to her
romantic involvement with Richie. Greens returned downstairs and Aidan left.
Ryan apologized to Greenlee for keeping secrets from her; she accepted.
At the casino, Bianca tried to get Reese to share her wedding vows. The two
frolicked romantically. Zach arrived and broke the news that Kendall was
refusing to go to the wedding. Binks bolted to confront her sister. Reese
told Zach that she didn't regret having Gabrielle. Zach tried to persuade a
resistant Reese to agree to return to Paris, and to convince Bianca that it
was the best idea for the family.
Natalia was excited about her first ride-along. Jesse thought she shouldn't
go to work, given Rebecca's passing. Nat insisted that she was okay. After
she left, Angie urged Jesse to express his feelings over Rebecca's death.
Later, Nat broke down to Jesse about her mom's demise.
At the hospital, David was annoyed with Angie for being late to work.
Krystal and Angie patched up their friendship, though Angie made it clear
that she despises David. David apologized to Krystal for having been rude to
her friend. He then offered her a ring, something to wear until she decides
whether or not to marry him. She happily accepted.
Sinclair waxed to Annie about how wonderful Richie was. Annie told Sinclair
to get out of her room, which Sinclair did, with a parting shot to Annie
about how she hopes that Richie haunts her every day for the rest of her
miserable life. Distracted, Sinclair didn't lock the door behind her.
Annie's wheels started to turn. Later, Sinclair was mortified to find Annie
missing.... Annie, clutching Ryan and Greenlee's wedding announcement, made
her escape from Oak Haven.
Bianca stalked into Kendall's house and tried to strongarm Kendall into
attending the wedding. Kendall said that there was something Binks could do
to get her to change her mind: Return to Paris with Reese and the kids after
the wedding. Binks couldn't believe that Kendall meant what she said, but
Kendall made it clear that she needed time away from Bianca. With a heavy
heart, Binks agreed to Kendall's ultimatum.
Thursday
In Connecticut, JR told Amanda that he was relying on her to keep him sober.
Erica arrived at the inn for the wedding, followed by Zach and Kendall. Erica was thrilled that Kendall had decided to attend. Zach asked Kendall what had changed her mind. Kendall told Zach that Binks had agreed to return to France with Reese and the kids. Kendall thought Zach was upset with her because he feels a connection to the baby. Zach countered that he had told Reese to leave town, too, for her sake. Kendall asked Zach if he would choose Gabrielle over Spike.
Bianca and Reese celebrated that their wedding day was so near at hand. Binks and Reese discussed returning to Paris after the wedding. They had mixed emotions but agreed that it was a good idea. Erica interrupted them mid-smooch; Reese left to check on the girls. Bianca broke the news of their imminent return to Paris. Erica was bummed and urged Bianca not to let anyone pressure her into leaving. Reese and Binks went to the church, where they reconfirmed their desire to pledge their troth.
Ryan and Greenlee made love, then arrived with Emma at the inn. Jack greeted the clan, followed by Opal and the Martins. Everyone went to the church for the rehearsal dinner.
At Oak Haven, Aidan asked Sinclair for 24 hours to find Annie. Sinclair didn't want to grant it, so Aidan threatened to expose Sinclair's past with Richie.
Annie arrived at the church and the female minister mistook her for the bride. Annie pretended to be interested in the site for her own upcoming wedding. Later, she spied on the revelers as they gathered for the rehearsal dinner. During the rehearsal, Gabrielle was fussy in Opal's arms, so, much to Kendall's upset, Zach held and quieted the baby. Greens told Kendall that the way she looks at Zach and the baby scares her a little bit.... Aidan arrived at the inn looking for Annie. He made his way to the church, where Annie promptly knocked his unconscious as Jack delivered his toast to
Greenlee and Bianca. Kendall stood up and gave a toast to her new
sister-in-law, Reese — a nasty toast at that. Upset, Reese grabbed a bottle of champagne and bolted, with Binks in hot pursuit. "You certainly stirred the hornet's nest," said Erica to Kendall.... Bianca tried to calm down Reese, to no avail, then exchanged words with Erica and Kendall, both of whom criticized Reese.
Zach caught up to an inebriated Reese, who cried that she wanted to go back to Europe, where she didn't have to be so afraid. Zach embraced her and they ended up sharing a steamy kiss — which a horrified Ryan witnessed. Ryan made himself scarce (unseen) and Reese and Zach broke from the smooch, agreeing that it had been a huge mistake.
Aidan came to and grabbed Annie before she could harm anyone....
Reese and Zach returned to the inn with guilty expressions on their faces. Reese went upstairs; Ryan confronted Zach with what he had seen at the church. "Nothing happened," hissed Zach, warning Ryan to back off.
Friday
On the morning of her wedding to Bianca, Reese chastised herself for dreaming about Zach. She went to the lobby for coffee and shared an icy good morning with Kendall. Reese flashed back to kissing Zach. When Zach came downstairs, Reese made herself scarce.
Greenlee panicked when Ryan saw her in her wedding dress. He said it didn't matter because they weren't getting married, explaining that he had caught Reese and Zach in a passionate clinch that was, to his eye, clearly en route to sex. Greens had a hard time buying it but agreed with Ryan that they should postpone their nups. She tried to reach Zach at the inn but he had already left. She was about to tear off in search of Zach but Opal showed up with more dire warnings. Opal was relieved when Greens said the wedding wasn't going to take place that day.
Bianca woke up and received a visit from Erica, who made a gentle plea for Binks to remain in Pine Valley. Reese returned and she and Erica made nice. Erica ordered Reese a hangover cure and said that she would meet them in the lobby. Once alone, Binks confessed to Reese that she wanted to stay in Pine Valley. Reese gave her assent. Later, she joined Bianca and Erica at the chapel and reported that her headache was gone. Flower girl Miranda arrived. Ryan called with the fib that Greens was ill.
Aidan woke up with an awful headache, thanks to Annie, who happily claimed responsibility. She asked him why he hit her. She replied that he had been trying to stop her from doing what she had to do. Aidan begged Annie to return to Oak Haven with him so that she could get better. She agreed, but he got woozy and fell asleep, at which point she fingered a gun. Annie took off in pursuit of Greenlee.
JR told Amanda that he wanted to be with her. The arrivals of Jake and Tad interrupted their flirtation. Tad and JR chatted privately and Tad advised JR not to rush into anything serious with Amanda, despite her pregnancy. JR admitted that he was thinking about getting married. Tad noted that JR already had a lot on his plate, namely protecting his son from David. Amanda, meanwhile, asked Jake for advice on getting rid of David. When JR and Amanda arrived at the church, she said she was happy to be there with him. Frank and Randi arrived and JR was somewhat alerted by the look Amanda and Frank shared when JR thanked Frank for helping Amanda at the hospital the other day. Amanda sent him off for a glass of milk. He tried to question her, but Amanda shut him down.
Kendall was still cranky when she and Zach arrived at the church.... Erica was overjoyed when Reese told her that she and Bianca were staying in Pine Valley. Kendall, who overheard, was far less thrilled.... Zach tended to a fussy Gabrielle.... Kendall tore off to her car. Zach hopped in. She refused to let him drive and sped off. As she drove wildly, Kendall complained to Zach that Reese and Bianca were staying in town, hissing that Reese couldn't
bear to leave Zach. Greenlee was on the same road, speeding along on her motorcycle.
Ryan was petrified when Annie turned up in his car. "I am so glad I found you before you married Greenlee," said an emotional Annie. Ryan reminded Annie that she needed help. He tried to summon help; she pulled out her gun. He told her that he cared about her but was going to marry Greenlee. He ordered her to put down the gun, a command echoed by an arriving Aidan. Annie acquiesced and cried in Aidan's arms.
Jake observed to Jack that it was strange for Greens to reschedule the wedding.... Opal expressed her relief to Tad over the postponed Greenlee/Ryan nuptials.... Opal warned Erica that Kendall and Zach had rushed off.... Bianca and Reese enjoyed some quiet time that was pierced when La Kane reported that Zach and Kendall had left. Bianca said that they weren't going to delay the ceremony despite Kendall's absence. In front of their loved ones, Reese and Bianca walked down the aisle together. As they began to exchange vows, trouble was a-brewin': Kendall ran Greenlee off the road and
over a cliff.
