AMC Week of January 24, 2011
Monday
Annie confronted JR about him postponing the divorce. He tried to soothe her but ended up insulting her by asking her not to go crazy. He apologized. She demanded that he ask Marissa to reschedule the court date. Marissa showed up and JR told Annie that she had to leave. As Annie eavesdropped, Marissa asked JR if there was a reason he hadn't set a new court date for their divorce. Marissa left and Annie confronted JR about fibbing to her about where things stood with the divorce proceedings. "Fine!" he snapped. "I'll set the court date today." Annie went to Krystal's to dine with Emma and learned that Ryan and Greenlee are engaged. Marissa and JR entered laughing, cuing Annie's jealousy. JR explained that he was helping Marissa with the decorations for Damon's farewell bash. Annie had more hallucinations about Marissa and JR.
Tad and Damon discussed his move out of P.V. Damon denied that he was running away from his problems. He exited to leave a thank-you gift for Angie for giving him his first job. Opal entered and Tad asked her to help him plan a good-bye bash for Damon.
At the hospital, Ryan grilled Liza about her relationship with David. David, meanwhile, spied Greenlee's engagement ring and reminded her that she's still married to him. He picked up on her being upset about something but she stonewalled him and asked him to grant her a divorce. David agreed to sign the papers. Ryan observed them together from the hallway. She urged him not to waste more of his life on revenge. David watched Greenlee sink into Ryan's arms. Liza entered David's room and told him he was headed to prison. They discussed his divorce and Liza thought it was positive that Marissa was giving David a second chance. David revealed to Liza that he knew about her Colby woes because he'd heard everything she said to him when he was comatose. "Your secret is safe with me," David assured. Meanwhile, Ryan and Greenlee decided to wed on Valentine's Day.
Damon ran into Liza at the hospital. They talked about how Colby was holding up. He told her he was leaving town and that to avoid suspicion, she had to attend his good-bye party. Tad showed up and Liza told him that her tenure as David's medical advocate is over and that David's going to jail. Liza told Tad that she had found a good law opportunity for Damon in California. Opal sidled up after Liza left and Tad told her that Liza had done something truly benevolent for Damon. Tad went to tell Damon about the slot being held for him at UC-Davis. Damon was overwhelmed but decided to go.
Tuesday
Scott got to work at the hospital. Jake informed Cara that the parents of the little girl with cancer had filed a complaint against her. Cara maintained that she hadn't done anything wrong. Jake wanted to understand why Cara had had such a strong reaction to the child's situation. Amanda arrived to fetch Jake for Damon's good-bye party. Cara left Jake saying that she would try to smooth over the situation with the patient's parents.
Colby told Liza she was going to Damon's farewell party in the hopes of getting him not to leave. Colby sensed that Liza knew the identity of the "slut" Damon had bedded. Liza deflected. Colby asked Liza to come to the party with her. Meanwhile, Damon and Asher had words over Colby.
Tad went to see JR at ConFusion and JR defended his feelings for Annie. Later, Scott confronted JR about JR's latest efforts to undermine him. Back at the hospital, Scott chatted with Cara.
Annie and Marissa came face-to-face at Krystal's and verbal sparring ensued. Annie accused Marissa of trying to get rid of her. Marissa denied wanting JR. Opal and Krystal entered with the girls. Annie stalked out. Marissa updated Krystal on the altercation. Marissa left; Tad, Jake and Amanda entered. Damon showed up, followed by Colby and Liza. Colby asked Damon to give her another chance but he insisted that it was too late. Amanda told Jake she thought she might be pregnant. They smooched as Cara entered. Tad and Liza talked about Damon's departure. Cara asked Jake for a moment of his time. Outside, she admitted to Jake that she had been sick as a child. Liza was weepy so Tad thought she should get out before Colby became suspicious. Colby stopped her from leaving and asked why she was crying. Liza apologized for hurting Colby, which confused Colby.
A panicked Annie left a message for JR and back in her hotel room, hallucinated that JR and Marissa were in bed together, spurring her to trash the room. She made another desperate call to JR, which he ignored. Marissa entered and told JR about her encounter with Annie. Annie told JR's voicemail that she was about to do something they would both regret. In the hall, she ran into Scott, who guessed that she was there because of JR.
Wednesday
Annie asked Scott not to mention seeing her at the yacht club. He sarcastically wished her luck with JR before leaving. Annie listened to a message from JR and took off.
Tad tried to cover for Liza's slip of the tongue in front of Colby and Damon by revealing that Liza had arranged for the California opportunity for Damon. Colby told Damon to go to California with her blessing. She suggested joining him. He told her no. Tad warned Liza to be careful. Scott went to Krystal's and Marissa invited him to stay for the party. JR and AJ arrived. Annie watched JR and Marissa from outside, hallucinating that Marissa was talking trash about her. Asher showed up and he and Damon made peace. Amanda discovered that she's not pregnant and tried to block Annie from crashing the party. She reluctantly summoned JR for Annie. Outside, Annie passionately kissed JR. He reminded her that PDA was a no-no. When he asked what the big emergency was, she fibbed that she had been followed — by Scott. Back at the party, Marissa saw how many missed calls were logged on JR's cell phone. After talking to Scott, Marissa went outside and listened to Annie's hysterical message to JR.
Liza and Damon had a nice farewell talk and agreed that they hoped they'd be able to maintain their secret from Colby. Unfortunately for them, Asher was secretly listening and learned that they slept together.
Cara revealed to Jake that she'd had leukemia as a child and let it slip to Jake that she still loves him. Jake questioned Cara about why she had left him. She claimed she had left him to maintain her freedom. She went back to the party and bonded with Tad, who was heartbroken over Damon leaving. Cara gave her good luck charm to Tad to give to Damon. Amanda questioned Jake about where he had been but he was saved by Tad kicking off the speeches in Damon's honor. Jake had to go back to work, so Amanda drove him, and she broke the news to him that she's not expecting. Jake admitted that he had left the party to talk to Cara and assured Amanda that everything was fine.
Tad and Damon shared an emotional good-bye.
Scott caught JR outside of Annie's hotel room door. Scott indicated that JR was a fool for believing Annie's story about him following her.
Annie saw Marissa with JR's phone and demanded it back. Marissa told Annie she'd already heard her messages.
Thursday
Liza tried to console Colby in the wake of Damon's departure. Asher entered and fumed at Liza, "I think you've done enough." Asher privately told Liza that he knew she'd bedded Damon. Asher promised to keep quiet unless Liza hurts Colby again. Liza left and Asher tried to lift Colby's spirits with a game of cards. She kicked his butt at poker. Colby asked Asher what he had been talking about with Liza. He claimed that he just apologized to her for speaking to her harshly. Colby sighed that she couldn't get the other girl Damon had slept with out of her head. Asher told her to let it go but she said she couldn't.
Scott and JR traded barbs in Annie's hotel room before parting ways.
Marissa told Annie that she was going to tell JR how crazy she is. Annie accused Marissa of being jealous of her. Annie hallucinated that Marissa was renewing her vows with JR. Annie blurted out that she and JR are together as JR approached, looking none too pleased. Annie told JR to tell Marissa that JR and Annie are in love but he maintained that their relationship was strictly business and that he had to fire her from Chandler. Back at Krystal's, Marissa told JR that Annie was disturbed and had threatened her. JR went to meet Annie at her room and confronted her with Marissa's accusations. JR warned Annie that because of what had just happened at the park, he really did have to let her go from Chandler. JR left to do more damage control with Marissa. In the hotel room, Annie's hallucinations of Marissa escalated. JR called Dr. Burke about Annie.
Jake and David had words in David's hospital room. Liza went to see David. David told Liza that he actually didn't remember what she said to him when he was in the coma. He urged her to open up to her about what was going on with Colby. Liza felt that David was playing her to postpone having to go to jail. David took offense but made it clear that he didn't intend to go to jail without a fight.
At ConFusion, Ryan stepped away from Greenlee to tell Madison that he and Greens are engaged. Scott sidled up to Greenlee to discuss the Madison situation. Scott urged Greens to tell Ryan the truth, then fetched Madison from Ryan. In the park, she thanked him for rescuing her and they grew closer. Ryan and Greenlee went back to the penthouse and found a gift from David. Ryan assured Greens that he was going to make sure David never came anywhere near her. Jake called Ryan to let him know that David's medical test results were going to delay his trip to prison. "We'll see about that," huffed Ryan.
Friday
Cara sent Kendall off to her return to work at Fusion. Kendall skipped her check-up, against Cara's orders. Griffin wasn't surprised when she didn't show up. Cara went to the hospital and was upset to learn from Griffin that Kendall was a no-show.
Jake talked to David about his test results, which showed that David is anemic. Jake wanted a new batch of tests, convinced that David had tampered with them. Griffin entered as David accused Jake of wanting to tamper with the results of the new tests. Griffin defended Jake to David.
Greenlee confronted Ryan about his plan to make sure David is sent to prison. Greens went to Fusion to welcome Kendall back. The other Fusion gals soon followed. Griffin showed up at the office to examine Kendall; she tried to block him but he insisted on them speaking in private. Kendall begged Griffin to let her stay at the office. Griffin agreed to postpone the exam until the next morning. Meanwhile, Randi revealed to Greenlee that she knows Madison is pregnant by Ryan. Greens and Mad insisted to Randi that everything is fine. Greens urged Kendall to take care of herself. Kendall admitted that she's exhausted. Kendall then began to have disturbing visions, flashbacks of her shooting David.
Brot and Natalia made up for lost time in bed. Jesse and Tad caught up at the police station. The commissioner entered and told Jesse that he had to fire either Brot or Natalia for violating policy with their involvement. Jesse was forced to summon Brot and Natalia. He explained the situation to them. Brot privately spoke to Jesse, volunteering to be the one to be fired. Jesse tried to talk him out of it but Brot insisted.
Tad went to the hospital and Jake hired him to look into the meds that were going missing. Ryan came by on a David mission and entered Hayward's room at his invitation. They exchanged barbs. Ryan excused himself when he got a call. "Are we all set?" he asked the caller. Ryan phoned Greenlee and told her he was working on her wedding present. As Ryan listened in, Jake told David about a new battery of tests he had ordered for him, some of which were sure to be painful. Griffin returned to the hospital and learned from an orderly that David was missing. Ryan, posing as an orderly, had brought him to the roof.
Tad met with a hospital staffer at Krystal's as part of his investigation. Cara entered and sat down at Tad's table, threatening to blow his cover. Cara went along with Tad's ruse when she caught on. Once they were alone, she expressed how much fun she'd had playing private eye.
