AMC Week of January 3, 2011
Monday
Erica wrote her annual New Year's letter to her late mother, Mona, confiding in her about her love for Jack and her confusing feelings for Caleb and seeking guidance about Kendall. Jack returned home and Erica insisted that they go to the hospital to see a comatose David. Jack took a call; Liza approached Erica and showed her a security camera picture of Kendall in David's room with the pillow. Jack rejoined the ladies and warned Liza not to come after Kendall. Erica tore the picture in half and left with Jack. Erica admitted to Jack that she knew about the near-smothering. Jack was upset that she hadn't told him.
Bianca and the girls played with Caleb at Wildwind.
Erica caught up to Kendall at Krystal's. Kendall had a cough, which Erica observed. Bianca and Caleb showed up. Caleb took Erica aside with some questions about the night David was shot. She told him about her conversation with Liza. Erica took off after Kendall. Caleb asked Bianca to help him with something. Asher entered and he and Caleb wished each other a happy new year. Asher agreed to help Caleb out, as well. Caleb took Bianca and Asher to Ryan's roof to reenact David's shooting.
At the Slater house, Erica urged Kendall to take better care of herself. Kendall waved away her concern. Erica lost her cool and shocked Kendall by taking a swig of champagne. She explained to Kendall what it's like to be a recovering addict. She tried to leave to go to an AA meeting but Kendall wanted to understand what was going on with her mom. Erica broke down in tears over missing Mona. La Kane warned Kendall that Liza knows about the pillow incident. Erica told Kendall she would do whatever it takes to protect her. Kendall's coughing got worse and she collapsed in the arms of an arriving Caleb. At the hospital, Frankie diagnosed her with pneumonia. Griffin warned that Kendall needed careful monitoring because of her heart condition. Caleb took Erica aside and confronted her with his suspicion that it was Kendall, not Erica, who shot David. She adamantly denied it, but on the roof, he explained how he had realized that she couldn't have fired the gun. Erica sighed, "You're right." She told Caleb about arriving on the roof moments after Kendall fired the weapon and how she had swiped it to protect her daughter. Erica explained that Kendall had no memory of the event. "And that's the way it's going to stay," she said firmly. Caleb assured Erica that he could count on her and kissed her passionately.
Bianca and Jack got to the hospital and wondered where Erica was.
Tuesday
Erica and Caleb kissed at the stroke of midnight. Caleb thought the kiss was inevitable and promised not to say a word about Kendall being the shooter.
Ryan and Greenlee got word that Kendall was in the hospital. Griffin updated Jack and Bianca on Kendall's condition. A fitfully-sleeping Kendall asked for Zach. Caleb and Erica arrived and Jack pressed her about where she'd been; she fibbed. Griffin was unhappy to find Ricky in Kendall's room and they had words. Griffin tried to keep a restless Kendall calm. Erica got permission to visit her daughter. She tried to soothe Kendall's frayed nerves — and to keep her from remembering anything about the shooting.
At the Chandler manse, Asher asked JR how he planned to juggle two women. JR deflected. Meanwhile, Annie was freaking over JR's absence. Ryan called and asked Annie to come look after Emma. JR came by and when Annie asked him to join her at Ryan's, he declined. Annie went to Ryan's and let it slip that she's with JR. JR and Caleb encountered one another at ConFusion. Asher joined them. They toasted to 2011. JR went to the penthouse to be with Annie; she was overjoyed but couldn't get him to stay the night.
Greenlee went to Kendall's and found Madison there (she was baby-sitting). Madison acknowledged that she was having a hard time with the idea of moving. Greens snippily sent her home. Mad went to the hospital and talked to Bianca, clearly having second thoughts about leaving town. She bumped into Ryan, who wished her well. Ryan met up with Bianca and got the latest on Kendall. He went back to the Slater house and found Greens asleep with Spike. Greens woke up and she and Ryan toasted to the new year. After talking to Frankie and Randi, Madison called Greens and told her that she was not leaving town, after all.
Erica implored Griffin to provide Kendall with the best possible care. Ricky observed Griffin observing Kendall. Jack, Erica and Bianca toasted the new year. Erica went pale when she saw Caleb had returned.
Wednesday
JR tried to talk business with Ryan, proposing that they team up to win back Cortlandt. Ryan was more interested in what JR was up to with Annie. Ryan warned JR not to hurt his ex.
Amanda went to see Annie, who was sick. Annie asked Amanda to set up a double date for them with Jake and JR.
Marissa met with Scott to update him on her efforts to get him released early. Scott told Marissa about JR’s visit. Marissa went to the mansion and bickered with JR about Scott. Annie, who was faking sick, called JR and told him she was in trouble and needed him to come to the hotel right away. JR rushed to Annie’s side; she faux-collapsed in his arms. When Marissa called, JR divulged that he was with an ill Annie. Marissa reminded him that because of his weakened immune system, he should stear clear of Annie. JR decided to leave, upsetting Annie, who admitted that she had faked her condition. JR remembered Ryan’s cautionary words about Annie potentially losing her mind again.
Greenlee went to see Frankie; he accused her of fishing for info on whether he could have fathered Madison’s baby. She denied the charge.
Madison visited Kendall in her hospital room. Kendall was itching to get home to her kids. Griffin entered and warned that she wasn’t ready to be released. The room cleared out when Greenlee entered. Madison was warned by Frankie not to trust Greenlee. Greenlee wouldn’t tell Kendall about Madison’s pregnancy despite Kendall’s request for gossip. Greens tried to fix Griffin up with Madison. They had words about David. Griffin suggested to Kendall that she see a shrink; she took offense.
Ryan went to see Scott. Scott warned Ryan that JR is planning a takeover of some Cambias holdings. Scott indicated to Ryan that he’s interested in working with him. Ryan said he couldn’t hire him at the moment. He left and told Greens about the encounter.
Madison and Amanda encountered each other at Krystal’s. Their conversation fed Mad’s anxiety about being a single mom. Mad went back to the hospital; Kendall asked her if she would do her a favor. She agreed, and with Ryan’s help, arranged for Kendall to visit with the boys. Greenlee observed the scene. Griffin saw her and deduced that she wanted him to date Madison to keep Mad away from Ryan. Greens insisted that she wasn’t insecure about her relationship with Lavery.
Thursday
At the Chandler Mansion, Annie had a quick chat with JR about his lunch
plans, then hopped onto his laptop computer after he left the room. Marissa entered and saw her. "Find anything interesting?" she asked. Annie told Marissa to butt out.
Liza lamented to Damon that Colby won't have anything to do with her. Damon encouraged Liza to keep trying to mend fences with her daughter. Meanwhile, Asher and Colby had a close moment at the manse. Just then, Damon called and interrupted their gaze.
Erica was determined that Kendall not recall that she was the one who shot David. Suddenly, Erica flashed back to her kiss with Caleb. She suggested that they work apart for a while and reminded him that she was still marrying Jack. Just then, Bianca entered. Caleb excused himself, but Binks knew there was something going on. Erica denied having any feelings for Caleb, though she did concede that perhaps there was a small attraction -- on his part only. Erica then rushed out.
At the hospital, Kendall woke up screaming, believing David had been there. Griffin assured her that no one had been in her room. Reverend Ricky entered and helped calm Kendall. The Reverend encouraged her to get out of the hospital and reclaim her life. Griffin then offered to take her somewhere. Griffin got Kendall in a wheelchair and took her to David's room. Once inside, Griffin encouraged her to speak her mind to the unconscious David.
Colby went to meet Damon for lunch and was upset to see Liza there. Colby resented the way Liza was taking up Damon's time with work, even though Damon insisted that he liked his job. Liza apologized to Colby for the mistakes that she made. But when Liza brought up Adam, Colby accused Liza of taking away all the men in her life and stormed out.
Back at the Chandler mansion, Annie asked Asher for JR's password but he
refused to give it to her. Annie insisted that when she asked Asher for
something, it's just like if JR was asking her. She then put Asher on notice
to show her some respect. "Good luck with that," he smiled.
At his checkup, Marissa met with JR and expressed concern about his health. JR made a veiled apology for all the pain he caused Marissa. She advised him that no matter what the results, he needed to slow down and enjoy life. JR got his results: he was still cancer-free. JR and Marissa were both thrilled and embraced. Annie, who'd just arrived, saw them and left. She met with JR later and asked him how his day was. He lied about his appointment with Marissa and Annie called him on it.
Damon escorted Liza back to her place; she was upset that she blew a chance at reconciliation with Colby. Caleb then stopped by and offered Liza a deal regarding Erica's plea. "No deal," Liza huffed. Caleb stated that she'd regret her decision.... An angry Colby returned home and vented to Asher. They kissed, just as Damon walked in.... Back at PVH, Kendall sat at David's bed and told Griffin she was still haunted by an image of David. Just then, Erica entered and was shocked by what she saw.
Friday
JR berated Annie for telling Ryan about their relationship, but he assured her that he doesn't think she's going nuts again.
Erica blasted Griffin for bringing Kendall to see David. Ryan entered. Kendall and Griffin explained that she had hallucinated about David being in her room.
Jack and Liza had words at ConFusion. She went to the hospital where she found the group in David's room. Liza told everyone to leave. Ryan wheeled Kendall back to her room as Erica beseeched Liza to ease up on Kendall. Erica went to Kendall's room and Kendall told her about her visions of David. Erica urged Kendall to stop worrying. Jack entered. After they left, Griffin told Kendall her vitals were improving.
Colby tearfully apologized to Damon, who had caught her smooching Asher. He was furious and told her that their relationship was a mistake. JR found Colby alone in the living room. She reported that things with her and Damon had blown up. After she left, Marissa came over and talked to JR about his cancer-free diagnosis.
Annie went to the penthouse to confront Ryan about talking to JR about her, then went to the manse and eavesdropped on JR and Marissa. Marissa told JR that she had seen Annie at the house earlier. Annie seethed as Marissa suggested that JR fire Annie. When Marissa left, Annie revealed her presence, and she all but clung to JR for dear life. JR then met with Asher, telling him that he wanted Ash to work with Colby on a Chandler project.
Liza encountered Damon in the park. He was clearly upset but she noted that they had a ton of work to do. Back at her place, she hit a nerve with Damon when she brought up Asher. Damon admitted that he had walked in on a Colby/Asher kiss. She was sincerely sorry to hear it and assured Damon that she no longer considers him not good enough for Colby. Damon wanted to leave town. She tried to dissuade him. As she comforted him, Liza and Damon ended up in a steamy kiss.
Marissa saw Colby at Krystal's but Annie interrupted Marissa's efforts to figure out why Colby was upset. She confronted Marissa about trying to get her fired. Annie asked Marissa if they could be civil to each other for their kids' sake. Marissa agreed.
Ryan and JR talked about Annie at ConFusion. Ryan warned JR that he would hold him responsible if Annie went nuts again.
Still unconscious, David uttered Kendall's name.
