AMC Week of January 5, 2009
Monday
Bianca told Erica about Reese's ex-fiance coming to town as they packed her
things up at the Chandler manse. Erica was clearly bothered, especially when
Bianca said Reese was at the casino with Zach. Erica implied she felt Reese
was interested in Zach, and confessed she had confronted Reese. Bianca
angrily defended Reese and ordered her mother to back off. After Bianca left,
Adam asked Erica about their relationship. Erica claimed they were simply
acquaintances. Adam said he wanted her out by that night. Not a problem, sniffed Erica. He
would be billing her, retorted Adam, and told her not to come back. She happily agreed. Then
she spotted the story about Annie's escape on the front page of the
newspaper.
JR insisted to Amanda that he wasn't using her, but Amanda said if their
kiss stopped him from drinking, she was glad he used her. He thanked her for
everything she had done for him and little A recently. She excused herself
to get back to work.
Greenlee dreamed of her wedding to Ryan. She woke to find a note from Ryan,
saying not to come down until Emma was gone. She went downstairs just as
Ryan sent Emma off to a friend's house. Ryan explained he didn't want
Emma knowing Greenlee had slept there yet, but assured her that Emma was
crazy about her. She told him about her dream and they kissed before going
back to bed. After they made love, they talked about their wedding. They
were interrupted by the doorbell. It was Erica, who wanted to make sure Ryan
was ok. When Greenlee walked down, an argument ensued. Erica pointed out
that Greenlee wasn't giving Ryan a chance to get over what happened with
Annie. Erica left after telling Greenlee she'd see her at the office, if she
could find time to go to work. Greenlee assured Ryan that if Erica was
right, and he needed more time, it was fine. He assured her they couldn't
get married soon enough.
David asked Jake what he was doing at the hospital, and Jake informed him
that he was able to stay until he had a hearing. He had filed a grievance
against David for his firing. Jake told David that the Martins were a strong
family, and nothing he could do would break them. He called David pathetic
and reminded him how alone he was.
A rattled Opal told Krystal about Greenlee's tea
leaf reading — the happiest day of her life would be her last. Krystal tried
to calm her, but had bad news to share: Tad was missing in Africa. Krystal rushed Opal to the hospital
when it appeared she was having another heart attack. When they arrived at
the hospital, David brushed off Jake saying Krystal had called him about
Opal. Jake and JR turned on Krystal as soon as David took Opal away. Krystal
defended herself, and insisted she and David were just friends. Neither of
them believed her.
Reese worked at the casino, but Zach stopped her from doing manual labor. She
told him she had a surprise for him‹the plaque dedicating the room to
Myrtle. She asked him to tell her more about Myrtle, and he obliged. She
told him she felt that way about him. Later, as he directed some
employees, she reappeared all done-up in a dress. Bianca walked in as Reese
was modeling for him. Reese greeted her warmly, and showed her around. When
Bianca commented on how nice Reese looked, Reese admitted it was Zach's
doing. Reese could sense something was wrong, and Bianca told her she knew
about her and Erica's fight, inadvertently alerting Reese to the fact that
Erica thought something was going on between Reese and Zach. Erica was crazy, scoffed Reese. They were interrupted by one of the workers who
said Reese needed to deal with a problem. Bianca assured her she was fine.
When Reese came back as guests began to arrive, Bianca apologized for
letting Erica get to her. Erica arrived shortly after, and told Zach
everything looked great. That was thanks to her future
daughter-in-law, who was pretty special, replied Zach.
Krystal went to Wildwind to see David after taking Opal home. David gave her
some drugged milk, which she willingly took. David thought they should go
out, to the casino party, insisting it was what Babe would want. Krystal
agreed she would go to the party, but alone. Later at the party, David
greeted a shaky Krystal. There entrance together drew a lot of
attention. JR accused Krystal of being on a date with David. Amanda went
after JR when he grabbed a bottle of alcohol and left. She watched him chug
it. Krystal got a call on her cell, and walked off. After saying Tad's name,
she collapsed. Greenlee and Ryan greeted Opal, and Greenlee happily told her
she had accepted Ryan's proposal. Opal insisted they could not get married.
Bianca swore to Erica that Reese would never hurt her, and that Reese was
offended by what Erica suggested. Meanwhile, Reese told Zach they couldn't
be friends anymore.
Tuesday
Opal told Greenlee and Ryan about the tea-leaf reading. Jake suddenly
shouted when he found Krystal collapsed, and everyone rushed over. Krystal
explained that she had gotten a call from Africa, and Tad, Jeff and Jamie
had been found. Tad would be home soon. When everyone dispersed, Krystal
growled at David to leave her alone. Opal called Joe and shared the good
news. After, she and Jake talked about David and Krystal. Opal confronted
Krystal, but Krystal claimed David was just trying to help her through the
loss of Babe. Opal vowed not to let David steal Krystal away from Tad.
Later, David continued to try to help Krystal, who was clearly upset. She
admitted she actually didn't want to Tad to come home, and claimed she was a
horrible person before walking away.
Reese filled Zach in about Erica's assumptions. Zach told her they didn't
want them to move out just as Bianca walked up. Bianca insisted they weren't
moving. Zach said he would talk to Erica, and Bianca promised Reese she
would always side with her.
Angie, Rebecca, Jesse, Natalia, Frankie and Randi arrived. Everyone headed
for the blackjack tables. Randi and Frankie sat down next to Pete and a
woman. Randi pulled Pete aside and asked where he found the girl. He
admitted she was a hooker that he brought to make Colby jealous. Elsewhere,
Adam and Erica sniped at each other but stopped when Jack walked in with
Carmen. Jack sent Carmen to the tables and went to check in with Greenlee.
Ryan told Greenlee he wasn't going to let Opal stop their wedding. Jack
congratulated them, but hoped they weren't moving too fast. He said they had
his blessing as long as Greenlee was happy. Alone again, Ryan pushed
Greenlee to pick a date on his Blackberry. She picked Valentine's Day, and
he said that was when they would get married. Bianca, overhearing, warned
them that was when she and Reese were getting married. Greenlee said they
would have to change the date, but Ryan didn't want to. Bianca suggested
they have a double wedding. Over at the tables, Jack checked in on Carmen,
but Jake asked if he could talk to him. He wanted Jack to represent him in
his case with the hospital board, and Jack agreed.
JR wanted more to drink, but Amanda wanted to take him home. He wasn't
interested. Colby excitedly told JR that Tad had been found, and was shocked
to find JR drunk. She asked him to stop but he just sent her away. Colby ran
to tell Adam. David approached Amanda and said she earned every
penny he paid her. JR began dancing wildly with Pete's hooker. Amanda pulled
him away as he made a scene. JR overheard Greenlee mention Babe, and freaked
out. Adam confronted JR and blamed Amanda. JR yelled that it wasn't her
fault, and even blamed Adam. Adam walked away from him, and David
approached, telling the room that this was the man taking care of his
grandson. When JR tried to punch him he keeled over, and Amanda removed
him from the room. Adam vowed to Colby not to let Amanda take JR down.
Seeing Colby's distress, Randi gave Pete a pep talk. He said he loved Colby
and needed to find a way to get her attention. When she went back to the
tables, Frankie got annoyed at a guy who was checking her out. He thought it
was someone that recognized her from her hooking days. When he walked away,
Carmen tried to console her. Randi didn't want to talk about it, and asked
about Jackson. Carmen admitted they weren't really going anywhere. Angie and
Frankie watched Rebecca and Jesse dance. Angie wondered about their life
together. Later, when Angie and Jesse danced, Angie told Jesse that Opal
thought Krystal was cheating on Tad, and admitted she saw Krystal and David
kissing. After Angie went to work, Frankie and Natalia watched Jesse and
Rebecca dance.
Erica tried to talk Bianca out of the double wedding. Bianca suggested if
Erica felt so strongly about it she shouldn't plan the wedding. Meanwhile,
Zach congratulated Reese, Greenlee and Ryan on their decision. Erica asked
if Jack heard about the double wedding, and urged Jack to persuade Greenlee to get out
of the whole thing. He pointed out how happy Greenlee was. Carmen
interrupted Erica and Jack's conversation, and Erica rudely dismissed her.
Carmen walked away, but Jack followed her. She accused him of still being in
love with Erica, and loudly said she was leaving. Erica apologized after
Carmen stormed out. Jack told her to butt out. Zach made a toast, and
thanked everyone for coming. He toasted to loved ones that couldn't make it
and to new unions and new friends. Later, everyone danced. Reese told Bianca
she was fine with the double wedding, but she pointed out how unfair it was
that Ryan and Greenlee's vows would be legal, and theirs wouldn't be until
they went to another state. Ryan and Greenlee danced nearby and Greenlee
said their wedding would be perfect. Zach danced with Erica, and they talked
about Kendall, and then Bianca and Reese. He told her that Reese loved
Bianca the way he loved Kendall, adding that it was alright for her to admit she was
wrong.
David pounded on Krystal's door, and walked in to find her sitting in the
dark. She admitted she never loved Tad the way that she should. She thought
when Tad got home she should tell him what happened. She threw David out of
the house, and yelled at him to get out of her life. Standing outside, David
clasped her necklace in his hand.
The hooker followed Pete home and reminded him that he paid for the whole
night. She pushed him up against a wall and kissed him. He told her he
couldn't she wasn't Colby, and said that though his plan to make Colby jealous
hadn't worked, it showed him that he couldn't give up.
Amanda took JR back to the yacht, where he said he didn't deserve Babe's
son. He told her she should stay away from him, but she said she cared about
him. He kissed her and though she clearly had second thoughts, she
eventually kissed him back.
At the hospital, Angie got Rebecca's MRI. Another doctor told her that
Rebecca's tumor had stabilized. She actually had a chance.
Wednesday
Colby found Adam preparing to take little A to the doctor since JR hadn't
come home the night before. Meanwhile, Amanda woke up to find JR standing at
the window. She asked if he was ok and said he would be as soon as he had a
drink. Amanda tried to get him to let her make breakfast, but he grabbed a
bottle of vodka instead. She grabbed it and smashed it on the floor. JR finally
acknowledged that it wasn't possible for him to haven even one drink without
taking it too far. Despite this, he told her he didn't regret the time he
spent with her. Colby burst in, relieved to find JR ok. She laid into him
for blowing off his son. He went off on her, called her a stupid kid, and
demanded she get out. Crying, Colby left. JR vented to Amanda about the
demons in his life particularly Adam.
Jake was greeted by the lawyer Jack sent over to fill in for him while he
was tied up with another case. He ran into Taylor and Brot and when Brot
went to get the car, Jake pointed out that Taylor's condition seemed to have
worsened. She told him she was taking her time in order to keep Brot in
town. Jake gave her a hard time as she tried to explain herself.
Bianca called Ryan to set up lunch for the four of them to discuss the
wedding. After, she went to get Reese and found her joking around with Zach.
After Zach left, Bianca freaked out about the wedding, suggesting that Reese
wasn't giving it enough attention. She made a snarky comment about Reese
planning a wedding with Simon, but quickly apologized. Reese realized it was
really about Zach. Bianca apologized again and said she was stressed. They
kissed and made up.
David greeted little A at the hospital, and asked Adam if JR made it
home the night before. Adam blew him off. Later, David headed over to
Amanda's yacht, where he found JR and Amanda together. David ordered Amanda to
leave him alone with JR. When JR said it was ok, Amanda reluctantly
left. David told JR it was good to have the old him back, adding that he was a
danger and an embarrassment to everyone around him‹ Babe would be ashamed.
JR warned David that he had just gotten too close to a dangerous man.
Greenlee happily greeted Ryan and told him she was forgetting about the
readings and the nightmares. He filled her in on lunch at the casino. Emma
ran down and hugged Greenlee, asking if she could stay. She missed her mom.
Ryan took her downstairs to catch the bus to school. Alone, Greenlee
suddenly had an idea. When Ryan returned, Greenlee was in an apron and her
underwear with a meal on the table. She hopped on his lap, and they made
love on the couch. After, Ryan gave her a ring‹ a moonstone.
Colby came home and told Adam that he was right, JR was with Amanda. She
said JR looked awful. Adam insisted JR wasn't going to accept their help,
all they could do was take care of little A. Colby played with little A for
awhile, and Adam said Colby
was a wonderful aunt. After Colby vowed to make little A's life as normal as
possible, Adam embraced her.
Ryan and Greenlee arrived at the casino, and everyone sat down to discuss
the wedding... including Zach. Reese liked Zach's idea of getting married in
the casino, although Bianca wasn't thrilled about it. Greenlee wasn't either
since her last wedding was in a casino. Zach and Reese tried to convince
them. Reese told Zach to tell them about the music, and he said his friend,
a music exec, would get any one of his artists to play at the wedding. Zach
ran off to take care of something, and Reese continued to talk about the
plans she and Zach had made. Greenlee and Ryan looked taken aback, and
Bianca interrupted her, pointing out that Greenlee and Ryan clearly hated
it. Greenlee backed her up, admitting they were looking to do something much
more low key. Reese insisted it would be low key. A frustrated Bianca yelled
at her and stalked off. Ryan went after her, and Greenlee asked Reese what
was going on. Pitching a fit was more Kendall's style. Reese admitted she
hadn't been open with Bianca about her past, and told her that Erica had now
created new problems by telling Bianca that Reese was lusting after Zach.
Reese swore she and Zach were just close friends. She wished she'd been
honest with Bianca from the start. Zach walked over as Greenlee said she
couldn't think of a way to solve Reese's problem, and he wanted to know what
problem she was talking about.
Bianca vented to Ryan, and Ryan asked if she thought something was going on
with Zach and Reese. She told him that
Zach was Gabrielle's biological father, and admitted Kendall didn't know.
She explained how close Reese and Zach had gotten, and how much it was
beginning to bother her‹ something didn't feel right. She wanted to figure
out a way to find out what was going on for sure. Ryan said
testing them was a bad idea.
When Brot brought Taylor home, she tried to get him to have a picnic with
her, but he thought they should work on her stretches. She pushed him to sit
down and eat with her, and he opened the door to leave. She begged him to
stay, saying she really needed his help. Brot caved and they set up a picnic
on the floor. They talked about their time in Iraq and he briefly mentioned
his recovery. Taylor told Brot they could get back what they had, and asked
him to dance with her. He did. They got close, and Brot went to leave. When
Taylor walked toward him to stop him, Brot realized she had been faking her
slow recovery.
Amanda rushed to the hospital and told Jake about JR and David. She asked
for his help, and he went back to the yacht with her. When they arrived they
found a broken, bloody oar on the floor. At Wildwind, JR had a drink while
he chatted with a tied up David. JR demanded he confess to everything:
seducing Krystal, planning to steal his son. David told him to go to hell,
and JR casually mentioned that by the time he was done, one of them might
just be there.
Thursday
Greenlee claimed she and Reese were just trying to think of a place for the
wedding. Reese expressed her frustration about the wedding planning. Greenlee
watched Zach console Reese. Reese pulled away from his hug and excused herself. Greenlee asked Zach about their living situation. He wondered what she was getting at, but she claimed to just be happy they were getting along so well. Meanwhile, Ryan tried to talk
Bianca out of testing Reese. When they went back to the other room, Bianca
found Reese had left. Bianca went after her. Zach was about to follow
her, but Ryan and Greenlee stopped him. He didn't understand why it wasn't
ok for him to check on them, but both Ryan and Greenlee said they needed to
work through their issues without him.
Taylor admitted she had been trying to keep Brot in town. An angry Brot
turned to leave, but Taylor warned him if he left he couldn't come back. He
confessed he was afraid that when he opened up to her she wouldn't like who
he was now. Taylor said she never stopped loving him. He didn't know if he
could say the same thing, but Taylor insisted she knew he loved her. She
told him he was still gorgeous to her, and asked him how he felt when she
looked at him. He said it felt the way it used to. They kissed, but he
pulled away, saying he wasn't ready yet. She told him they could take
it as slowly as he wanted. They cuddled on the couch, and he said he had
something to tell her, but Taylor said they didn't need any more words.
Opal caught Krystal trying to call David, and an argument ensued. Finally
Krystal admitted she was drawn to David and she didn't know what to do about
it. Krystal admitted to Opal that David had been giving her anti-anxiety meds.
Opal thought David was drugging her, but Krystal said it wasn't like that. She
noticed that Opal had brought a bag over, and Opal told her she was moving
in to keep an eye on her. At Wildwind, David yelled at JR that he didn't
know what it was like to lose a child. They sniped back and forth before JR
left the room and came back with a bottle of wine. He went searching for a
cork screw, but found a gun instead. David continued to rile him, and
suddenly JR fired multiple shots into the ceiling. Then he called Krystal,
who picked up the phone thinking it was David. JR suggested she come over to
Wildwind—he had something he wanted to show her. After Krystal hung up, Opal
walked back into the room and said she would
keep her secret as long as Krystal stayed away from David. Jenny cried, and
Opal went to fetch her. Of course, Krystal took the opportunity to leave. When
Opal came back and found Krystal was gone, she called and left a message
saying she hoped she wasn't with David.
When Krystal arrived at Wildwind, she found JR drunk and David tied up. She
noticed the bullet holes in the ceiling. JR told Krystal that David had a
confession for her, but then took it upon himself to announce that David was
using her to take little A away from him. Krystal said that wasn't true.
When they got home, Greenlee and Ryan talked about Zach being Gabrielle's
father, and then Ryan admitted Bianca was planning to test Reese. Greenlee
thought it was a horrible idea, and pointed out how Aidan bugging her
earring was the beginning of the end for them.
Bianca went home and apologized to Reese. She told her that she wanted a
real wedding, not a commitment ceremony. She thought they should look for
places in Connecticut, and asked if Reese could come with her to scout
locations. Reese had a bunch of appointments scheduled, and asked if they could
do it the following week. No problem, she would check it out on her own, Bianca replied. She went to pack when Zach walked in, and
Zach asked Reese what was going on. From down the hall, Bianca listened as Reese and
Zach talked about whether or not Reese should accompany Bianca, ultimately
deciding she should stay in PV.
Friday
Erica visited Tad's, to find Opal minding Kathy. Opal and Erica were concerned about the pills David is giving Krystal. Erica mistrusts Reese for "trying too hard" to be likable. And she's hiding stuff from Binks, like her past engagement to a man. La Kane was concerned Reese has her eye on Zach, but Opal reminded her Zach only has eyes for Kendall. After she left, Kathy came downstairs looking for Krystal. Opal started to read her a book when Tad returned, and was shocked to find Krystal gone. Opal made excuses and quickly exited. Krystal was, in fact, at Wildwind, where JR pulled a gun on David, baited him. JR shot into the ceiling, then threatened David. When Krystal pleaded David's case, JR realized she's sleeping with David. She dodged, but David insisted they were helping each other through the pain over Babe's death. Disgusted, JR tossed his gun aside and left. Krystal stopped David from calling the police, but he vowed to make JR pay. Krystal was overcome with remorse, but David reassured her. He kissed her — just as Opal entered and caught them! The indignant Opal revealed Tad is back, then retreated. David urged Krystal to go fight for her marriage. At home, Emma told Tad a joke "Dr. David" told her on Christmas, stunning Tad. When Krystal returned, Tad asked where she'd been. JR suddenly appeared, noting, "I can tell you exactly where she's been."
Emma invited Greenlee to go on her field trip as class helper in Annie's place. Ryan suggested Greenlee become more than a helper; what if she became his wife? "What about mommy?" Emma asked. Ryan explained he and Annie just want to be friends, and promised he would always love her. Greens offered Emma flower girl duty. Later, an anguished Bianca arrived. Binks told Greenlee she's testing Reese by leaving her alone with Zach. Greenlee warned that spying will ruin the relationship (look at her and Aidan). For their part, Reese and Zach were home sharing baby tips and wine. Reese called to check on Bianca, and when she hung up, Binks felt like an idiot for suspecting Reese and her "incredible connection" to Zach. Bianca feared Zach has given up on Kendall and turned to Reese. Ryan and Greenlee defended Reese. Bianca saw the light and left in shame. Alone, Ryan asked Greens to start spending the night, but she argued for abstinence. Greens wondered if he felt guilty for being happy when friends like Bianca are troubled. Greens pointed out that Zach was loyal to Kendall while he was trapped underground with her. Erica was surprised to find Reese and Zach alone, so she needled Reese about keeping secrets, and accused her of sharing meaningful glances — and an embrace — with Zach. Reese insisted they were just friends. Zach said all he's been thinking about is Kendall. Erica asked if he thought of Kendall when he fathered Binks' baby? He said he did it for Bianca, and that Reese has been nothing open, kind and gracious. Erica insisted she wasn't questioning Zach's love for Kendall, but Bianca "deserves far better" than Reese. After Erica left, Zach pointed out how Erica manipulates people — and was saddened that Reese fell for her mind games. Erica returned home to find Opal stretched on her couch with a cold compress, moaning about seeing "David and Krystal pawing each other like a couple of dogs in heat."
Meanwhile, Zach apologized for yelling at Reese, who reminisced about how much better things were in Paris, and how everything is screwed up in Pine Valley. "You're the best thing that ever happened to her," he told Reese, embracing her and giving her a kiss on the forehead — as Bianca watched!
