AMC Week of July 28, 2008
Monday
An injured Frankie stopped by Randi's and ominously noted that he had put an end to Fletcher. Randi asked Frank if he had killed the pimp; he was evasive. Randi got word that Fletcher was en route to the hospital, having survived Frank's attack. Randi copped to being relieved that Fletcher was alive because it meant Frank wouldn't go down for his murder. Randi and
Frank kissed but he pulled back from having sex, noting that she didn't owe him anything. "I want you, but not like this," he said.
Angie blasted Jesse for hiring someone to follow Cassandra. He defended himself, explaining why he thinks Cassie may have knowledge of how Richie died. Angie was worried when Jesse indicated that Cassie might be in danger from Richie's real killer and Jesse apologized for not having come clean with Angie from the start. Angie came home and a skittish Cassie hid her drawings from her mom, who announced that Cassie had broken her heart.
Annie was upset when Ryan destroyed the footage from the nanny cam. Ryan accused Annie of wanting to nail the teens for Richie's death. Ryan told Annie point-blank that he's having a hard time believing anything she says these days. She turned on the waterworks, effectively playing on his sympathies. Ryan and Annie shared some tender moments but once alone, Ryan could think of no one but Greenlee.
Greenlee didn't buy it when Kendall blurted out that Ryan loves her but quickly realized Kendall believed it to be true. Kendall worked to cover her big-mouthed tracks, then went off on Annie to Greens. The gals met up with Aidan and Zach at ConFusion, then left with their respective loves. Zach advised Kendall to mind her own business; she saw the wisdom of his suggestion and switched her focus to getting busy with her hubby.... Aidan
and Greenlee made love.
Tuesday
Babe was impressed with the progress JR was making in taking over Chandler Enterprises. She was less impressed when JR copped to having planted the tabloid story about Adam's trip to the loony bin. JR told Babe he planned to acquire control of Fusion and put her in charge. A fuse broke, making Babe skittish since it reminded her of being kidnapped by Richie. JR made it clear that he aimed to protect her from now on. Babe told JR she didn't want him to get Fusion for her.
Adam ordered Barry to make sure that Colby's car with the blood on the
fender did not come back to haunt the girl. He then met with a Chandler
board member who reported that as Adam had requested, he'd told JR that the board would support him (JR). Stuart met up with Adam and Stu accused Adam of trying to control Colby. Adam sniffed that he wouldn't take parenting advice from his brother.
At the loft, Angie tried to get a pensive Cassandra to open up to her. Her
efforts failed, so Angie told Cassie that the man who'd tailed her was a
cop. Cassie's stonewalling continued so Angie went against her daughter's wishes and looked at her sketch book. Cassie's drawings of the country road where Richie died freaked Angie out. A teary-eyed Cassie asked her mom if Angie had defended her to Jesse. Angie made it clear that she would always protect her baby girl. Cass kept her wall up with Angie.
Jesse came to see Frank at the hospital and angrily confronted him about
attacking Fletcher. Jesse told Frank that he'd put a tail on Cass and that
Fletcher wasn't the one who'd intimidated the teen. Frank was unremorseful and told Jesse he planned to kill Fletcher. Frank told off his dad, then stalked off.
Krystal followed Colby to the yacht club and busted Colby for drinking. She beseeched the girl to talk to her about what was troubling her. They talked about the blood on the fender of her car. Krystal tried to console Colby and assure her that she wasn't a bad person. She urged Colby to come forward to Jesse but Colby insisted that no one could ever know what happened the night Richie died. Krystal condemned Adam for trying to control a situation he might not be able to but promised not to breathe a word. Colby called Cassie, who noticed that she sounded off.
Wednesday
Erica gave herself a pep talk as she prepared for her dinner date with
Samuel. She was interrupted by the unexpected arrival of Zach and Kendall, who wanted to take her to supper. Kendall was stunned when Sam showed up with flowers for La Kane. The two pairs departed for the Valley Inn.
Jack and a gussied-up Carmen met at the Valley Inn to discuss her case, but she was more interested in Jack and Erica's relationship. Carmen beseeched Jack to get back to the business of wooing Erica. Just then, Erica and Sam entered to a flurry of paparazzi interest. All six Pine Valley-ites ended up breaking bread together. Sam became overwhelmed and decided to leave; Erica followed.
Jake was fretful when he encountered a beaten-up Frank. When he heard about Frank's attack on Fletcher, he urged Frank to be careful where Randi was concerned. Randi entered B.J.'s and Frank and Jake watched as she was given the third degree by the restaurant manager with whom she was interviewing for a job. The scornful potential employer all but told Randi to take a hike, discouraging the gal considerably.
Aidan went to the fertility clinic to investigate Ryan's unperformed
vasectomy, then went to the penthouse to subtly question Annie, who had just told Emma about the new baby. Aidan got the strong sense that Annie was hiding something.
At ConFusion, Ryan ran into Greenlee. He tried to conceal his disappointment when Greens updated him on how well she and Aidan were doing. Greens noted to Ryan that she feels like Kendall is keeping something from her regarding Ryan. He didn't cop to the secret Kendall is keeping (that he's in love with Greenlee). Greens expressed her desire to see Ryan and Annie live happily ever after. Annie walked in in time to see the pair together.
Thursday
Erica was flattered when Sam publicly declared his interest in Erica. Sam
then took La Kane to BJ's, far from the glare of the paparazzi. They enjoyed
their low-key date, during which Sam lamented his lack of closeness with
Dre.
At the police station, Angie told Jesse that Cassandra lied to her face
about the Richie situation. Cassie, meanwhile, vented to Colby, Dre and Pete
about how hard it had been to deceive her mom. Pete proposed a road trip;
Colby blasted him for getting involved in their business. Cassie became
concerned when she caught Colby drinking. Colby threw Pete out after telling
Dre and Cassandra her idea about what to say if they were questioned by the
cops. Cassie leaned on Dre for support.... Jesse showed Angie a picture of
Cassandra and Dre together on the night of Richie's death. The pics also
proved that they were in Colby's vehicle that night.
Babe and JR talked about JR's plans to take over Chandler Enterprises. JR
copped to having doubts about whether he was doing the right thing. She
expressed her pride in the man JR had become and sent him off "into battle"
(as he put it) with a passionate buss.
Krystal implored Adam to take Colby's drinking seriously. She felt it would
be in Colby's best interests to come forward about her role in Richie's
death. Adam scoffed at the notion despite Krystal's deep concern, noting he
had an important appointment for the good of his family.
Friday
After Greenlee and Aidan shared a kiss, she asked about house-hunting. He replied that they were going to build the house of their dreams themselves. Greenlee loved the idea, especially when Aidan showed her all the preparation he'd done for it. He then announced that he bought them 10 acres out by the yacht club. Greens was ecstatic looking at Aidan's plans on his laptop. "That's it. That's our home!" she enthused. Then, they made love.
At Fusion, Kendall found a picture of Greens missing her head and knew Annie was responsible. Kendall said Annie needs help and may be dangerous but Zach didn't buy it.
Ryan caught Annie holding a wrench but she laughed it off as some plumbing problem that needed attention. After Ryan left, Annie went into the other room where she saw a banged-up Richie sitting in a chair. "Hi sis," he smiled. "Glad to see me?" Zach knocked at the door and Annie let him in. "Bad time?" he asked. Zach was sympathetic to Annie's condition and she confessed that if she had her druthers, she and Ryan would pack up and leave
Pine Valley. Zach suggested taking a trip. Annie said she loved the idea and she wanted Kendall and Zach to join them. He said he'd mention it to Kendall and left. Afterward, Richie returned and tormented Annie, saying she wasn't going anywhere until Greenlee was dead.
Adam told JR that he wasn't going to fight the call for his resignation. He told JR that his son had beaten him and earned the position, then shook his hand. JR was skeptical as Adam sang his son's praises. Father and son discussed their past scheming against one another and laughed about their indiscretions. Once Adam got JR to spill everything he'd done, he thanked his son for his confession, "You lying, spineless ingrate!" Adam pulled out
a tape but JR said it didn't matter, the board still thinks he's crazy. Just then, Babe interrupted, saying "Colby's here. And so are the police." Colby entered and said she's being sought for questioning. Adam demanded an attorney for her but Colby said she's ready to go.
Angie and Jesse confronted Cassandra and Dre about the night Richie was killed. "Cassandra, no more lies," Angie ordered her daughter. Cassandra barked at Jesse for having her followed. When she told Jesse that he had no proof of her involvement in Richie's death anyway, Jesse pulled out photos taken by the surveillance camera at the gas station where they stopped to fill up, five miles from the accident site. The tire tracks found at the scene matched Colby's car. Jesse said he knows the kids aren't killers but
they needed to come clean. Cassandra pulled out her cell phone and planned to call her father and return to Paris. Angie grabbed the phone and said she needs to trust them. "I will never trust you again," she cried. Angie told Jesse to do what he needs to do.
Ryan showed up at Kendall's office and asked why she spilled to Greenlee that he loves her. "Lay off Annie," Ryan insisted. Kendall confessed that Annie scares her. She also said that Annie knows he still loves Greens.
After Jesse brought Cassandra to the PVPD, Colby was brought in, too. She assured Cassandra that everything would be okay. Adam was furious that Colby refused to have an attorney present for her questioning. JR belittled Adam for his lame attempt to cover up for Colby (ie: reporting her car stolen). Adam said no one speaks like that to him, especially in public. During questioning, Cassandra, Dre and Colby all confessed to driving the car. Jesse was furious and arrested all three of them.
On a rural road, Annie faked a car accident, then called Ryan for help and left a message on his cell. "You better not be with Greenlee," she huffed. Meanwhile, as Greens and Aidan made love, gas filled the room.
