District Attorney North had trapped Randi in an elevator, and kissed her. He said, "It's been a long time." Randi protested that she didn't "do that" anymore; she had a husband. North was persistent and asked Randi to get together; he said she owed him. North opened the elevator, and Jesse was outside. He introduced North and Randi, and they pretended not to know each other.

After JR told Erica at the yacht club that Adam kicked him and Little A out so that Annie could stay at the mansion, Erica wondered, "What in God's name has gotten into Adam? You must be furious." JR said he was trying to understand why Adam was dead-set on helping Annie. He thought his father was looking for someone who needed him. Marissa arrived and said she'd fixed it so that JR and Little A could stay at the Yacht club, in a complimentary suite. When they went to check it out, Little A asked if Marissa could come. Little A asked JR to tell him about Babe. JR told Little A and Marissa how he and Babe met in San Diego. Marissa was touched.

Colby overheard Liza's and Adam's bargain, that Adam would help Liza win over Colby if Liza took Annie's case. Colby said she wouldn't be used as a bargaining chip in either of their lives anymore. Colby said to Adam, "Why should I be surprised? You turned your grandson into a time-share." Liza said they were not manipulating her; she only wanted to have a close relationship with her daughter. Colby called Liza a habitual liar and stormed off. Later, Liza found Colby and told her she knew she couldn't force Colby to accept her. Liza said she would be proud of Colby no matter what she decided to do, and that she would never try to destroy her relationship with Adam.

After Aidan ambushed and kissed Annie on the Chandler mansion patio, she got angry, pushed him away and told him, "I don't need you anymore. I have Adam." Aidan said she owed him the truth and asked what she was doing at the mansion. Annie said that Adam had done so much for her, she finally thought that with his help, she could actually be free and live in Pine Valley. Adam believed in her. Aidan said he did, too. Annie insisted she didn't need to explain herself to Aidan anymore.

Annie found Adam inside the mansion, looking at a picture of Stuart. Annie said, "You must really miss him." Sometimes life deals us harsh cards, and how we deal with them shows what we're made of, he replied. She took his hands as Erica interrupted them. "I hope you've hidden all your knives," Erica said coldly to Adam. She told Adam to check into Oak Haven himself, that he was crazy to take in Annie. Adam accused Erica of being jealous. Erica said she just wanted him to stop making a fool over himself for a woman who was using him. Adam insisted he knew exactly what he was doing. Annie saw Erica leaving. Erica turned to Annie and said that Annie wouldn't be in the Chandler mansion long enough to cause any more problems. Annie told Adam he didn't need Erica anymore: He had her. A bit later, Adam presented her with a special meal and champagne. They clicked glasses, and Annie seemed supremely happy.

Taylor found Brot in the hospital and wanted to talk. Brot told Taylor he saw her laughing and relaxed the other day with Tad Martin, and that she didn't act the same way with him. He insisted Taylor was not happy. Taylor wanted to know why he hadn't proposed to her. He said his mother told him never to ask a question he didn't know the answer to. Taylor asked, "You think I'll turn you down?" Brot said all they did lately was go around in circles and never get close enough. They'd been dancing around the issue for so long, things had changed between them, and they didn't know if they could get "us" back. Taylor left, and Frankie showed up to thank Brot for helping him get his courage back. But he could see something was wrong with Brot. Brot told him Taylor and he were finished, and that "real" in Iraq didn't translate to "real" in Pine Valley. Taylor, alone, was thinking the same thing.

Randi visited Frankie, who was smiling, and said he was going through the surgery because of Randi's support and faith in him. Randi flashed back to being in bed with North. He said he wanted to spend his life with her and that Randi was an amazing woman. Randi responded: a woman "who charges by the hour…." North asked her to stay with him forever. Snapping out of her reverie, she told Frankie she'd be with him forever. Frankie said it was weird being a patient instead of a doctor. And suggested running away with Randi, taking the honeymoon they never had. She recalled when North asked her to run away with him. North told her he loved her. Jesse walked into Frankie's room and said he did not like North, that he was a "pompous ass" who only cared about his political career.

North found Randi later, asking why she never showed up to run away with him. Randi said she was just "some hooker he helped out of a jam." North replied, "So, I was just a get-out-of-jail-free card?" Randi admitted it was much more than that, and he knew it. North asked why, if she felt that way, did she disappear? Randi explained she felt she would have ruined his plans of being some big politician. North said, "You did." His career was all he had, he said. He married his wife for her connections, not out of love. Randi said she was sorry. North said he loved her more than he ever loved anyone; Randi countered that she loved her husband , and North needed to forget about her. "We're strangers," North agreed.

Ryan confronted Liza about getting Annie released. He was concerned for Emma's safety. She insisted the court's evaluation would be fair. Ryan said Annie could fool any shrink, just like she fooled Adam. And Liza. Liza noted that Ryan's testimony would weigh heavily on Annie's fate. Ryan stood firm, and said he would not let a dangerous, unstable woman take his daughter away from him. Liza insisted Emma would need her mother some day. Ryan said Annie was sick and needed help, and he was not changing his testimony. Then he told Liza to leave. Emma woke up, and asked why Annie wasn't there. Erica walked in, and told Emma that Annie loved her, but she couldn't see Emma until the judge said so. Ryan said he thought Erica had been swamped with work. She said he wasn't going to like what she saw at the Chandler mansion. Ryan told her about his visit with Liza. And that he couldn't let Annie anywhere near Emma. Erica said that together, they'd prove Annie was still dangerous.

Tuesday

Erica arrived and told Ryan they needed to expose Annie for the conniving manipulator she was. Ryan suggested they divide and conquer. They discussed Annie's therapy appointment, knowing full well she could totally manipulate her doctor. Erica and Ryan were concerned about Annie's affect on Emma, both wanting her to grow up safe and sound. Erica told Ryan to go to Adam's so he could speak to Annie. Meanwhile, Annie told her therapist she was afraid if she lost her case, she would lose Emma.

Liza and Adam discussed Annie's therapy session, too. They agreed it was critical Annie proved her mind was sane and that she wasn't a danger to anyone. The conversation turned to Colby. "She needs to know she can have us both," said Liza. "Are you suggesting we get back together?" asked Adam. Liza wasn't. She just wanted them to be responsible mature parents, who worked together. Adam agreed to try if Liza would, and they shook on it.

Tad and Krystal enjoyed a tea party with the kids. Amanda watched and was clearly affected. Jake arrived and sensed Amanda was having a tough day. Amanda admitted she was in pain. She knew she'd made the right decision to keep her baby safe, but couldn't stop dreaming about him and how it wasn't right. Watching Tad with his kids only made things worse. Amanda said that part of her was taken away with her baby, and didn't know how to get it back. Jake suggested they go out for a walk, and she agreed. Later, Tad confronted Jake about leveling with Amanda, i.e., giving her baby to Liza. At least she'd be able to see him again. Jake opposed the idea, insisting he'd done the right thing and would handle this.

Kendall and Zach showed their kids the boats in the harbor. For a moment, Kendall said, she was able to escape all the bad stuff happening in her life...namely, the murder charges against her. Zach got a call and had to go.

Jack ran into North, who vowed he was going to convict Kendall of first-degree murder. "Kendall is innocent," proclaimed Jack. North promised Jack would lose the case. He could prove motive and opportunity, and told Jack to prepare his client for life in prison with no parole. North and Madison headed to the gambling tables. Zach offered them some champagne. North assured Zach that champagne wouldn't make him forget the charges against Kendall. Meanwhile, Kendall called North to talk. Later, Kendall met with North. Jack was there and advised against it; then he left. Alone, Kendall told North she didn't want to go to prison for life. North suggested she plead guilty. Kendall thought he could do better than that.

After her session, Annie went to see Adam. She worried she'd be declared competent and would go to jail. Adam assured Liza would defend her and left for an appointment. Alone, Annie put on some music, started dancing around, and poured herself a drink. Ryan walked in on her.

Liza went to see Tad, noting she couldn't get Jake to tell her the baby's due date. Tad explained how miserable Amanda was. Liza felt for Amanda, but reminded Tad this was all her idea. Tad said Amanda's idea was to have her baby adopted by strangers, and noted how she cried herself to sleep every night. Tad said that Liza was the only person who could change that.

Adam went into a dress shop, saw a woman trying on a sexy black dress, and said he wanted it. When the woman turned around, he envisioned Annie in the dress. Erica walked in and asked if Adam was alright, noting he looked flushed.

Ryan was suspicious of Annie when Annie said that she had accepted that she couldn't see Emma right now. He opined that she was more dangerous than ever. Ryan scoffed that she could play sincere with Adam but not with him. He made it clear that he wouldn't be played. She accused him of being paranoid. He swore to her that she would not take his daughter. Annie struggled to remain composed and eyed the fireplace poker.

At the blackjack table with Zach, Madison placed a huge bet and when she lost, she panicked and begged Zach not to tell her husband. He erased her debt. Madison thought that he was trying to curry favor with her to get her to get her husband to drop the charges against Kendall. Madison told Zach that Henry wouldn't be going after an innocent woman. Zach said that Henry wasn't a good man and that she deserved better. Madison wondered why Kendall had called Henry earlier to set up a private meeting. Madison told Zach that Kendall should take whatever deal he offered. Zach wondered what deal Madison had taken from Henry.

Kendall reminded North that he doesn't have an airtight case against her and losing would be a PR nightmare. He said he would take his chances. Kendall said that if he dropped the charges, she, Zach and Erica would all support Henry's career. He accused her of trying to bribe him; she described her offer as friendship with political benefits. Henry turned her down and once again urged Kendall to take the plea. He spat that he had married a woman just as entitled as Kendall and that she's not above the law. Kendall sensed marriage issues. Henry told her that he looked forward to seeing her go to jail.

Tad begged Liza to reconsider taking Amanda's baby or failing that, at least raise the baby away from Pine Valley. She refused. Tad reminded Liza that because of Jake's love for Amanda, he might take the baby and put her back in Amanda's arms. Liza was shaken to learn that Amanda had held her son.

On the waterfront, Jake tried to assure Amanda that everything would be fine. An emotional Amanda told Jake that nothing would be okay anymore as she could not see or smell or feel her son again. Jake did his best to comfort his devastated wife.

At the boutique, Erica and Adam traded barbs about Annie as Erica shopped for dresses. A dress for Annie was delivered to Adam. He explained that he was having a dinner party for Annie and invited her to join. She purred that she had just the perfect person to bring as her date.

Wednesday

Madison warned Zach that Kendall would be wise to take whatever deal Henry
offered her. Madison stonewalled Zach when he questioned her about her
marriage.

At the Slater house, Henry told Kendall that he looked forward to her being
in jail. She maintained her innocence and North stormed over to the casino
to have words with Zach, revealing to him that Madison has a gambling
problem. Kendall called to tell Zach that she had screwed up with North; he
assured her that it would be fine.

Erica told Adam that she'd be bringing a guest to his dinner party for
Annie: Ryan. Adam burst out laughing. "Let the fun begin," he said.

At the Chandler manse, Annie struggled to hold on to her composure and
insisted that she was a well woman. Ryan wasn't buying it and said that when
she could no longer sustain her act, he would be there. Back at his place,
Erica showed up to invite him to the dinner at Adam's.

Annie had a bad reaction when Adam told her that they'd be dining with Ryan
and Erica. Adam tried to set her mind at ease. Erica and Ryan arrived for
dinner and Annie claimed to be thrilled. Erica made a dig at Annie's ankle
monitor; she made a dig at Erica's jail stints. Angie cut her hand on glass
when Erica noted that Annie was facing a jail term of 20 years to life. Adam
tended to her. Ryan couldn't believe what he was seeing and stepped into the
hall to take a call from Corinna. Erica assured Annie that she and Ryan were
taking great care of Emma and enjoyed goading Annie about her daughter, who
Erica claimed now wanted to be on a talk show. Annie commanded Erica to stay
away from Emma, completely losing her cool. Ryan returned and asked what
was going on.... Erica and Ryan went back to the penthouse and debriefed on
Annie's behavior. Erica thought that all they needed to keep Annie from Emma
was make Annie lose her cool in public or in front of the judge. Ryan
thanked Erica for her help and said they should do dinner again sometime,
without Adam or Annie. Ryan kissed her goodnight on the cheek.... Annie
berated herself for having lost her cool. She kissed Adam passionately when
he said that he believes in her.

In Frank's hospital room, he complained that he had yet to regain movement
in his hands. Angie urged patience. Randi left to go grab Frank's tunes from
his car. Frank asked Jesse to get Angie to turn down her optimism a few
notches so as not to get Randi's hopes up about his prospects of recovery.
Jesse did as he was told, but Angie wasn't receptive. Dr. Wexler told Angie
and Jesse that Frank could regain full motion in his hands. Zach and Kendall
came to see Jesse, who told them not to interfere with his efforts to prove
Kendall's innocence.... Frank was frustrated by Angie's efforts to push him
into physical therapy.... North wanted Jesse to throw Zach in jail. Jesse
refused and suggested that Henry would be wise to fear Zach. Randi saw them
talking and Henry left. Jesse told Randi not to worry about his battle with
the D.A. Randi approached Henry in the waiting room and asked what had
happened with Jesse. Henry trash-talked Jesse and told Randi that she's the
only person who ever loved him and saw the good in him. He caressed her
face.... Frank felt a slight movement in his hands.

Back at the Slater house, Zach and Kendall traded notes about what they had
learned about Henry and Madison's clearly troubled marriage. Zach vowed to
take care of the D.A. Zach got a hang-up phone call — it was a weepy
Madison, but she wouldn't identify herself. Zach was sure that it was
Madison and told Kendall that it was obvious that Madison should have left
her marriage a long time ago.

Thursday

Randi received a bouquet from Henry. Frank approached to show her that
movement has returned to his hand; they embraced happily.

Brot threw Taylor for a loop at the hospital when he whipped out an
engagement ring and proposed. With other staffers looking on, Taylor
accepted. They toasted with Randi and Frank. Brot arranged to meet Taylor
later at ConFusion. Randi ran into Henry, who asked her to come away with
him to D.C. She told him that they were done and that she's a married woman.
Frank approached and Henry introduced himself as the D.A. and his father's
colleague.

JR and Scott chatted at B.J.'s and JR said that he was happy, enjoying
Marissa's company, and that living away from the mansion suited him and
Little Adam. JR deduced that Scott is into Marissa himself. Scott denied it.
Marissa returned from the jukebox with Little A and JR left to take Little A
to the restroom. Scott told Marissa that JR was right: She had an amazing
smile. Scott told Marissa that he wanted to honor his father's memory by
changing the mission statement of Chandler Enterprises to something more
humanitarian. She approved heartily, then went for a walk by the water with
JR and Little A. He told Marissa about being on the pier in San Diego with
Babe. She declared him to be the new and improved JR. They ended up sharing
their first kiss. He broke away, apologized and ran off to fetch Little A
from the beach.

Tad told Krystal that Amanda's baby's ashes had just arrived. Tad was
behaving oddly, commenting that it's like the baby wasn't even gone,
arousing Krystal's suspicions.

Amanda woke up from a dream about her baby to find David there. He said he
was there to apologize for having harassed her during her pregnancy. She
told him to shut up. He said that if the baby had lived, he might have let
her raise him in peace. She called him a liar and tried to get him to admit
it. Krystal entered with the ashes. Amanda began to weep and Krystal tried
to comfort her. David told them that he had planned a memorial service for
their son.

Liza lashed out at Jake for letting Amanda hold her son. Jake snapped that
Liza would just have to find herself another child. Liza refused. Jake tried
to talk her into leaving town but she wouldn't leave Colby or ask Colby to
leave with her. Jake left and Colby arrived. Liza told her that she was
thinking about moving away. She asked if Colby might want to join her. Colby
was not into the idea and was upset that Liza was leaving town. Liza
insisted that Colby was everything to her but Colby still stormed out.

Jake returned home and Tad blasted him for his crazy baby plan. Jake
insisted that it would work out. Tad warned Jake that Amanda would recognize
her son. Jake went to the loft and Amanda berated him for the faux baby
ashes. She told Jake about David's apology and she feared that they had made
a huge mistake. Jake told her that they had to stay strong.... Krystal told
Tad that David was a mess. Tad cracked more bad jokes. She urged him to
grieve. Krystal went to the memorial without Tad. Jake was upset to see Liza
there. She said she wasn't leaving town. David arrived and Liza expressed
her condolences. David spoke to the audience about the son he'd never gotten
to meet and apologized for the role he'd played in his child's death. Amanda
struggled to hold back her tears. "Make him stop," she said, standing up.
Jake tried to get Amanda to sit down as she declared that "this whole thing
is a sham."

Taylor bumped into Tad at ConFusion. They were both down. He said he had a
secret that was weighing him down. She said that she had one, too. She
showed him her ring. "I'm not so sure I love Brot anymore," she confessed.
Talking to him made her feel better and he said that his headache was gone.
Brot arrived.

Colby went to Scott's office to sign some papers related to the family
trust. Colby told Scott about her encounter with Liza. He urged her not to
give up on her relationship with her mom.

Friday

Taylor opened up to Tad about her relationship woes. Brot entered ConFusion
and Tad congratulated him on his engagement before excusing himself. Brot
told Taylor that he thought they should talk. Taylor and Brot had a frank
heart-to-heart and came to the realization that while they love each other,
they are not in love anymore. They tried not to be sad as they shared a
final slow dance.

Colby and Adam met with Erica at ConFusion. She was determined to get them
to talk. Colby was resistant as Adam defended his new alliance with Annie.
Colby and Adam both ended up storming out.

Annie met with the court-appointed therapist at the Chandler house. Ryan
secretly observed from the patio as Annie discussed the jealousy she had
felt toward Greenlee. After the specialist left, Aidan revealed his presence
and presented Annie with a device that disables her ankle monitor, allowing
her to visit Emma as she pleased. Annie was confused as to where Aidan's
loyalty lay. Ryan continued to secretly watch as Aidan pledged his devotion.
After she left, Ryan called Erica to tell her to stall Adam longer; she
reported that he had already left. On the porch, Aidan and Ryan were
revealed to be in cahoots, setting up Annie. Ryan decided to wait around to
see if Annie took the ankle monitor bait. Inside the house, Annie eyed the
gun in the desk drawer. When Adam entered unexpectedly, she pointed her gun
at him.... Ryan and Erica had a quiet confab on the terrace, awaiting
Annie's next move....

After David's apologetic soliloquy at the memorial service, Amanda stood up
and called the event a sham. Jake tried to get her to sit down. To create a
distraction, Liza announced that she was in labor. Jake, Tad and Liza raced
back to the Martin house to continue the ruse and Tad resisted his
assignment (fetching Amanda's baby for Liza).... Amanda spoke at the
service, blaming her baby's demise on David. Her words cut David to the
quick.... Jake brought Liza to the basement and dispatched Tad to fetch the
baby. When Colby and Pete entered, Liza faked a contraction.... David,
Krystal and Amanda agreed to bury the ashes next to Babe's grave.... Liza
insisted that Colby stay for the "birth" even though Jake hissed, "You want
her to witness the birth of a pillow?".... With difficulty, Amanda, David
and Krystal went to the gravesite. After crying on Krystal's shoulder,
Amanda left. David asked Krystal for some time alone. First, she wanted to
know if the baby's death would make him a better man. "I don't know," he
replied.... Tad bonded with the baby en route to the house.... At Jake's
insistence, Colby went upstairs.... David blamed himself for the baby's
death but Krystal said that God didn't kill babies to punish their
fathers.... Tad had a run-in with the police on his way back to the
house.... Colby called the paramedics as Amanda returned home. She went down
to the basement and Jake tried not to betray his panic.
