AMC Week of March 1, 2010
Monday
At the hospital, the Chandler clan was upset to hear that JR's condition was worsening. Adam tried to comfort a distraught Colby while Marissa sobbed at JR's bedside. Annie showed up late to lend her support to Adam, who admitted he wouldn't have even been there if it weren't for Brooke. Then Adam got a call and inquired if he's a donor match.
Ryan surprised Erica with a visit, suggesting that they join forces to take David down together and persuade Gayle to confess everything he's done to the authorities to put Hayward behind bars for good. Erica was hesitant to team up with Ryan and admitted that she wasn't using Gayle as leverage to take down David, but she's really going after Greenlee because Greens tried to take down the company. "I refuse to let her destroy my daughter's dream," Erica explained and pleaded her case about why she won't assist Ryan at all if it benefits Greens. He persuaded her to help, anyway.
At Wildwind, Jake tried to keep Greenlee from entering and berated her about Ryan. She explained she went back to the castle to get closure on her relationship with Ryan. Jake wasn't buying it and assumed Greens was up to no good. Meanwhile, David called Gayle, who refused to answer her phone. He stepped out on to the terrace and demanded that she show herself or he's calling the cops. He was surprised to see Amanda reveal herself, claiming she's looking for a toy for Trevor in the bushes. David called her bluff and wondered what Jake is up to now.
David greeted Greens, who said she didn't go out for a walk but went back to the castle instead to say good-bye, but she's really just lying to herself. She admits that although she loves Ryan, David's trust means more to her. David also came clean and told Greens that Erica is basically blackmailing him into forcing Greenlee out of Fusion. She was miffed and said they have to unite to beat Erica at her own game. Meanwhile, Jake went to see Gayle who, realizing she's never going to get a real relationship with David, agreed to go along with the plan.
Jake brought Gayle in to see Erica and Ryan. Erica assured the nurse that David would pay for all the rotten things he's done to them over the years. She worried about being arrested herself for helping David; Ryan and Erica promised her safety. Ryan worried to Erica that their plan might not work. "It has to," she said. "If anyone can make this work, it's the two of us." Jake, meanwhile, informed Ryan that Greenlee was there before. After, Jake went home but didn't tell Amanda where he'd been.
Back at the hospital, Tad bristled when Damon approached and warned him to stay away from Colby. Damon explained he got tested to see if he can help JR. Tad softened and urged Damon to talk to Colby. He cheered her up. In the waiting room, an emotional Adam wondered how Brooke could stay so strong when she lost her own child. She brought up Laura and expressed the grief and pain she felt, saying it never goes away but you find a way to go on. They went to the chapel, where Adam was overwhelmed with thoughts of Stuart and said it was tough to pray. He did anyway, and pleaded for God not to take his son as punishment for all he's done and offered himself as a sacrifice instead. Meanwhile, Angie informed Annie that she's JR's best hope yet for a transplant because she's a partial match. Annie agreed to have the procedure but didn't want to inform her family. She went to JR's room and coldly said she's not sure that JR's worth the bone marrow procedure. "The person you hate most may the only person in the world who can save you," she spat. JR somehow managed to mumble, "Get out, you bitch!" Annie stormed out.
Tuesday
At ConFusion, Liza and Ryan met to discuss bringing down David. They went to see Erica and Gayle; Gayle was hesitant to trust them but Erica assured her that she had her word. The trio eventually convinced Gayle to join in their efforts to pin David's crimes on him. Liza fretted to Ryan that Gayle's instability could be a liability. Ryan expressed to Liza his confidence that eventually, he and Greenlee would get back together. Liza and Ryan then questioned Gayle about the DNA switch. Gayle didn't know the name of the person David had bribed at the coroner's office. Gayle and Liza seemed to think all hope was lost, but Ryan made it clear that he had something else up his sleeve.
At the hospital, Frankie was distracted while talking with Randi, who assumed he was worried about his mom. Frank told her that the patient's death was his fault, not his mom's.
A chipper Greenlee told David that she'd had good dreams about taking down Erica. She left for work, where she was surprised to find that practically no one was there. Madison introduced herself. Greens told her to forget everything Erica told her. Randi entered and Greenlee asserted to both women that she, not Erica, is in charge. Erica entered and the women squabbled over who was rightfully in charge. Erica dismissed the staff so that she and Greenlee could talk privately. Their conversation reached a peak of nastiness and Greenlee proposed that they figure out a way to work things out.
Jesse approached Angie in the hospital chapel. She sighed that she had made a huge mistake that had cost a man his life. She told Jesse about what had happened while they were at the yacht club and he tried to reassure her that she wasn't at fault. Frank told Angie that he wasn't going to let her take the fall. David eavesdropped as Frank insisted that the death was his fault. Frank looked at the pain pills that Randi had insisted he take. David surprised Angie in her office with photos of her with Jesse at the time of the patient's death. Angie stood up to David, then told Frank to focus on getting back into the operating room. Frank then popped a pill as David watched.
Tad found Damon snoozing on a hospital gurney. Tad told him that JR was still comatose. Damon wanted to know how Colby; Tad suggested that he go ask her but Damon hedged that Colby isn't his biggest fan at the moment. Damon revealed that he and his folks aren't speaking so Tad decided to buy him breakfast. Tad admitted to Damon that he'd been in Damon's position before. Tad held himself responsible for not having ensured that Miguel came to Pine Valley. Damon learned from Frankie that he's not a match. Damon told Tad that his estranged mom's name is Hillary. Tad gave Damon a key to his place and invited him to stay for a while in exchange for him doing some odd jobs.
Wednesday
Greenlee told David that she thinks she may have Erica running scared. David warned her not to underestimate La Kane. David spoke to Gayle and tried to win her back to his side. He got her to reveal her whereabouts before she hung up. Ryan and Jake entered Gayle's room and Ryan quickly deduced that she'd been speaking to David. David arrived at the castle room but Gayle was gone. In her place? Ryan. After a war of words over Greenlee, Ryan took his leave. He went to ConFusion and saw Greenlee. He sat down at her table after congratulating her on her wedding. She told him the only reason that she'd gone to the castle on her wedding night was to say good-bye to him. David arrived. Greenlee tried to conceal how flustered she had been left by her encounter with Ryan, who was confident that he was making inroads.
At JR's bedside, Tad apologized to his comatose son for not having done more to find Miguel. In the waiting room, Krystal tried to console Tad. Annie showed up and Angie told her that she's the only person who's even a partial match for JR. "Are you going to be JR's donor?" queried Angie. Annie listened as Brooke dazzled the Chandlers with a Web site she'd constructed overnight to make a plea for marrow donations. Annie went to Angie's office for a private chat about the pros and cons of donating her marrow. Colby went to sit vigil at JR's side. Liza showed up with the papers that declared her to legally be AJ's mom. Liza went to the chapel to talk to Tad. Tad got word of another possible route to Sonia Reyes and gave the info to Adam so that Adam could phone her. It was a dead end, Adam learned. Brooke threw her arms around Adam, much to Annie's chagrin. Tad told Liza about finding Damon on the gurney. Liza and Tad discussed Tad's past with his ex, Hillary, who shares the same name as Damon's mom. Marissa tried to stay strong for AJ's sake. Liza was hurt when Tad excused himself from her to console Krystal, who was breaking down over her own despair over JR and her frustration over her inability to provide Marissa with enough support. Amanda went in to JR's room and tried to snap him awake as she weighed her options. Accompanied by Brooke, Adam then went into speak to JR and to declare his love for his son. Adam broke down in tears. Annie spied Brooke and Adam together. Scott reminded Annie that Adam's son is dying and that this isn't a competition between Annie and Brooke. Annie stormed off. She then pretended to Adam that she had just gotten the news that she's a partial match for JR.
Jake brought Gayle home with him and tried to explain the situation to Amanda. Amanda reluctantly agreed to keep an eye on Gayle and the ladies began to bond. Jake went to ConFusion to escalate his plan with Ryan to bring down David.
Opal and Jenny welcomed their new houseguest, Damon. Damon scored points with Opal by fixing Jenny's clock. Damon opened up to Opal about his love for Stuart. Damon went back to the hospital and Colby thanked him for his words of encouragement the other day.
Angel Dixie appeared at JR's bedside and took his hand.
Thursday
Erica unloaded to Opal about her problems with Greenlee. Just then, Greens
arrived, seeking an answer to her proposal about them trying to work
together. "I'll think about it," Erica replied. The women agreed to speak to
their attorneys, and Greenlee left.
David called Gayle again, but Liza hung up on him. Then, David tried to
leave home but Natalia showed up and told him he was not going anywhere. She
was there to collect the $2,500 in unpaid parking tickets. David wrote her a
check and asked why everyone hates him. Nat said when he took on Angie,
David took on the entire Hubbard family. David then called her a "snot-nosed
rookie" and tried to leave, so Nat had his car towed. David was furious.
Natalia then called Ryan and said, "It's a go."
At the hospital, Annie confessed to Adam that she's a partial match. Adam
wanted to tell JR but she asked her hubby not to. Adam agreed, and was
thankful to his wife. They discussed the procedure with Angie, and Adam
learned that Annie had been sitting on this information, but he didn't hold
it against her and called Annie his angel.
The spirit of Dixie reached out to JR. "Mom?" he asked. "Come with me,"
Dixie smiled back. JR arose from his bed and found himself in a garden. "Is
this heaven?" he asked. "It is to me," Dixie replied. She hugged JR, and he
was filled with happiness. They shared warm memories of the past, then Dixie
told JR that he needed to look to his future. JR said he didn't have one.
"I'm dying," he sighed.
In the hospital chapel, Tad chatted with Brooke and recalled JR and Jamie's
youths. Brooke then mentioned Dixie. They discussed all the losses they've
endured, and how they managed to keep moving forward.
Erica met Jake and Ryan at ConFusion, and they discussed their plan to take
down David. Erica wanted to play a part but Ryan implored her to stay out of
things. Jake implored Amanda to keep Greenlee occupied while they worked
with Gayle. Amanda was hesitant but agreed. Jake then met with Gayle, handed
her a gun and said, "It's show time!"
As David waited for a cab, Gayle burst in with the gun. Just then, Ryan
entered. David told Ryan to do something. Ryan said he wanted to watch and
see what happened. Gayle pulled out a sheet of paper and told David to sign
it. It was his confession, which absolved her from wrongdoing. "Clear me!"
she shouted. David noticed Gayle's hand shaking as Ryan advised David to
sign. Just then, Erica entered and pleaded with Gayle to stop. David laughed
and realized he was being played. "Go ahead and shoot me!" he dared Gayle.
Adam went to JR's room and announced to his sleeping son that he had good
news. He said there's a donor, and begged JR to hold on tight. In the hall,
Annie finally couldn't contain herself any longer and went off on Brooke,
accusing her of wanting her husband and her life. Colby told Annie that
nobody wanted her there and ordered Annie to leave for good. Annie agreed,
and said she'd be checking into a spa for the next several days. Shortly
afterward, Angie announced to the gang that a donor had been found. Everyone
was greatly relieved.
Amanda met with Greens and asked for a job at Fusion. Greenlee was happy to
have Amanda back. Amanda then filled Greens in on her experience with David,
Jake and Trevor. Amanda also advised Greenlee to follow her heart where Ryan
was concerned. Greens then realized that Amanda was stalling her and rushed
off.
Gayle grew frantic when the plan didn't work, grabbed Erica and held her
at gunpoint.... JR's loved ones wished him well before his surgery.... In
"heaven," JR told Dixie he needed peace. "Do I have to go back?" he asked.
Friday
Gayle held Erica at gunpoint to get David to give up the coroner's name.
A concerned Ryan tried to reason with Gayle, as did David. Erica begged
David to give in and tell Gayle the name. When David refused, Gayle pressed
the gun into Erica's side, which caused Erica to fight back. After spinning
around to face Gayle, Erica was shot. David, clearly distraught and
panicked, told Gayle the name. Gayle discovered David gave the wrong name.
Out of fear for Erica's life, David gave the real name and then signed the
confession. As he passed the paper back to Gayle, Erica snatched it out of
his hands and said, "Forget the hospital. I'm just gonna need a good
dry cleaner." David realized they faked the whole thing and condemned Erica
for betraying him. Enter Greenlee, who was concerned and then angered to
realize what Gayle, Greenlee and Ryan did to David. Greenlee pushed Ryan and hurt her back in the process. A worried Jake ran in to tend to her, which is when they realized David got away. Greenlee stood up perfectly fine, making it clear that they had been duped.
While JR was being prepped for the procedure, his family tried to
cope. Back at the mansion, Adam thanked Annie for donating her marrow.
Annie reminded Adam they must keep it all as secret because JR would never
want her bone marrow. Annie then told Adam she loved him and has written a
letter for Emma in case anything happens to her. Adam reassured her that
everything would be okay. A little while later, Colby walked in and began to
berate Annie for saying she was headed to the spa. Adam defended Annie,
which angered Colby so she took Emma and left. As Annie was leaving, Brooke walked in. Adam informed Annie that Brooke would be staying at the mansion, then escorted Annie out the door. Brooke and Adam chit-chatted over all the changes that have happened since she’s been gone. She tried to comfort
Adam when he talked about how he killed his own brother.
Outside the chapel, Tad believed he heard someone singing. He went in
and discovered a book opened to a song Dixie used to croon. Krystal came into
the chapel to comfort Tad. The two then went to ConFusion to get something
to eat while they waited for word on JR. Tad confessed to Krystal that he
was upset he couldn't save JR with his bone marrow or bring Miguel to Pine
Valley. Krystal told Tad the truth is, he's been saving JR his whole life,
which comforted Tad.
Damon was at Tad's when Colby arrived. The two talked a little before
Liza arrived to discuss Damon's trial. Liza informed Damon that he could
just be looking at community service if some of the people he stole from
would speak on his behalf. Colby agreed to help Damon and brought Tad up to speed when he and Krystal arrived. Tad aid he would vouch for Damon.
After Colby left, Liza expressed concern to Damon over his relationship with
her daughter. Damon assured Liza that he and Colby were just friends.
As JR's family faced their own realities, JR was still with Dixie. Dixie
told JR he was giving up like he always does. JR admitted that he was ready and wanted to walk through the door to the other side. Just as he said that,
Stuart walked out and greeted JR. Stuart assured JR that he was "better than
fine" and was at peace. Dixie and Stuart tried to explain to JR that he has
unfinished business, but he didn't want to hear it. After Stuart left, JR told Dixie he doesn't have a future. She gently assured him that, "You have so many
futures. What it turns out to be just depends on you." She then went through
the door, but when JR tried to follow, it was locked.
At the hospital, Annie imagined Adam leaving her for Brooke. Because of her fear and paranoia, she stopped the procedure.
When Erica arrived back at her place to clean up, David was there
waiting for her. She asked him what he wanted. He said, "You betrayed me and
you broke my heart. Did you really think I would let you get away with
that?"
