All My Children Recaps
AMC Week of March 2, 2009
Monday
At the casino, Adam threatened to use the information that Kendall was the
driver who ran Greenlee off the road against the Slaters. Zach asked Adam
what he wanted. Adam said he'd get back to him. After Adam left, Kendall
asked Reese why she was still in Pine Valley. Reese said that she intended
to prove to Kendall that she genuinely loves Bianca. Zach warned Reese not
to come after his family and stormed off. When Zach got home, he found that
Kendall had locked him out, so he smashed down the door. A major fight
ensued. Zach told Kendall to choose between loving him or hating him,
leading to a hot and tender lovemaking session. After, she asked him if he
thought it was bizarre that she had someone else's heart. "You've always had
someone else's heart," he replied. "Welcome back." Kendall's face clouded
when she saw Reese looking at them through the window.
JR walked in on Jake comforting Amanda. Jake covered his real reason for
being there and had words with JR, warning him not to hurt Amanda. After
Jake left, JR demanded to know why Amanda had shoved the DVD of Babe at him.
Amanda denied it initially, then admitted that she had put in the DVD
because she wanted him to drink. She was not, however, honest about her
motives for doing so.... Pete accosted Adam at the Chandler mansion with the
news that all of the cash Adam invested in Fusion is gone. When he entered
the study, JR told Adam, "Amanda is a lying slut who's been playing me ever
since Babe died. Amanda swore that she didn't get pregnant on purpose. JR
said he believed her. Adam called him a fool.
David and Krystal celebrated their engagement. He promised to try to be more
open with her and they made love. Once he was certain that she was asleep,
he got dressed and was on his way out when Jake showed up to confront him
about having put Amanda up to getting JR soused. David goaded Jake about how
desperate he seemed.
JR told Amanda that if she promised that she wasn't hiding anything else,
perhaps they had a shot at a future together. She lied through her teeth,
saying that there was nothing more that she was concealing. David burst in
and exposed to JR that he had paid Amanda to get JR drunk. Hayward spared no
detail as a teary Amanda begged him to shut up. JR asked him why he'd done
it; David said it didn't matter, but JR deduced that it was as a means of
getting Little Adam away from him. "I want you gone," JR hissed to Amanda
after David left. Adam couldn't resist an "I told you so" after Amanda was
gone. Adam told JR to do whatever it took to get Amanda's baby for them.
When David got back to Wildwind, Krystal grilled him about his whereabouts,
and he presented her with two wedding bands. He told her that they were
getting married tomorrow. She was delighted.
Taylor joined Tad at the casino. They bonded as they played cards.... At the
hospital, Brot admitted to Frank that he was avoiding Taylor. He opened up
about his difficulties with intimacy, to which Frank could relate.... Frank
and Brot showed up at the casino and joined Tad and Taylor. They had a
blast, and Taylor and Brot went home together. They enjoyed an easy intimacy
as they joked on the couch. He led her into the bedroom....
Jake joined Tad at the casino bar. Tad told Jake about the nice time he'd
had with Taylor and reported that Taylor had left with Brot. "Can I get a
drink?" was Jake's response.
Tuesday
Tad teased Jake for putting up a profile on a dating Web site. Jake chased
Tad around the bachelor-pad-messy living room. When they ceased their
roughhousing, they looked over the person with whom Jake had been matched;
Jake dismissed her because her profile pic was of her dog. Kathy ran in,
disturbed because she had misplaced a toy. Kathy got the impression that the
family was getting a puppy from glimpsing at Jake's computer screen and the
chaos deepened when Jenny woke up and started crying. Then, the contents of
Tad's closet came spilling out, but the upside was that among the tumbling
objects was Kathy's missing toy.
Taylor woke up in Brot's arms. They enjoyed breakfast in bed. He was happy
that she hadn't given up on him despite his best efforts to push her away.
At Fusion, Amanda reported to Pete that she had been kicked out by the
Chandlers. JR and Adam strolled in and JR asked to speak to Amanda
downstairs. Adam hung up Erica's phone and called her out on her having lied
to him about his money. "You have robbed me blind," he huffed. Erica wanted
to know what Adam was using Reese for; Adam remained evasive. Adam told Erica that he had kicked
Amanda out of the house. La Kane maintained that she had a strategy for
digging Fusion out of its financial hole. He deduced that she was suggesting
that they become partners. At ConFusion, Amanda tried to defend herself, but
JR told her not to bother. He said he wanted peace between them, but on his
terms. He told her that he wanted to raise the baby on his own. "Go to
hell," she snapped. After blasting JR, she tore off and he followed her back
upstairs to Fusion. Erica tried to calm Amanda down. She told Erica that she
quit and went back downstairs to ConFusion, where David had just told Jake
that he was marrying Krystal. She and David had words; Jake tried to defend
her. Amanda made a slip to David about how he wouldn't get "his" child;
Dave's ears perked up. She tried to cover, but he remained suspicious, so
Jake intervened and dragged her away. "I thought you covered nicely,"
offered Jake. When Jake heard that Amanda was going to move into the Pine
Cone, he told her to follow him. After they left, David raised a toast to
Amanda's unborn child.
David woke up Krystal on the morning of their wedding. "Get away from me!"
she barked. Turns out, she was just cold: The heat was out at Wildwind. As
they shivered, David vowed to Krystal that Jenny would one day be a huge
part of their lives. They reminisced about their first meeting. When they
went downstairs, the fire warmed them up a bit, but she was missing her
girls. He pooh-poohed her insecurities when she wondered aloud if she was
truly the love of his life. David took a private moment to ensure that, per
his instructions, Amanda's yacht had sailed off without her, leaving the
mama-to-be homeless... Krystal came by the Martin house to see Jenny, but
the baby was napping. A pensive Krystal broke the news that she was marrying
David. Krystal smacked Tad when he asked if she and David were trying to
replace Babe and told him she felt sorry for him if she didn't know what it
felt to love someone the way she loves David.
David brought his lawyer to Wildwind to have Krystal sign a prenup. David
convinced her to sign it without reading it. The minister showed up and,
with the lawyer as the only guest, joined David and Krystal together in holy
matrimony. Back at the Martin house, Jake gazed at Amanda as she played with
Jenny and Kathy. JR went to ConFusion and craved a drink. He proceeded to
get wasted.
Back at Fusion, JR stormed out after Adam gave him a tongue-lashing for
thinking that Amanda would just hand over the baby. Pete gave Erica an ice
pack to administer to Adam's hand. La Kane reminded Adam that he wasn't
going to be able to control JR's life. After looking over Erica's proposal,
Adam told her that yes, she had a partner. He then swept her into a kiss ‹
and she hardly protested.
Jake brought Amanda to her new home: Tad's. Sensing Amanda's hesitation
about imposing, Jake insisted that Amanda was more than welcome to move in.
Tad seconded Jake's offer.
Tad came by Taylor's with some food for a late lunch. She invited him in but
things became awkward when Brot emerged from the bedroom. An embarrassed Tad
bolted despite Brot's invitation for him to stay. Brot and Taylor
slow-danced in the living room; Tad returned home to his daughters. Amanda
suddenly ran upstairs. When she returned, she told Jake and Tad, "I'm
spotting."
Wednesday
At the Martin house, Jake and Tad rushed to Amanda's aid when she announced
that she was spotting. She didn't want to go to the hospital, fearful of
losing the baby.
Kendall came to see Reese at the Chandler manse to confront her about having
watched her and Zach through the window. Reese said that she hadn't meant to
intrude. She didn't deny that she had had feelings for Zach but insiste that
their kiss had been a mistake. Kendall accused Reese of planning to
blackmail her with the knowledge that Kendall was driving the car the night
that Greenlee died but Reese maintained that all she cared about was proving
her love to Bianca.
At ConFusion, Zach stared mournfully at a photo of Greenlee. Opal was
getting the place ready for Greens's memorial service.... Adam berated a
soused JR. They bickered about Adam's desire to get his hands on Amanda's
baby. "Sometimes I wish I was never a Chandler!" bellowed JR. "I wish I
wasn't ashamed of my son," retorted Adam. Tad arrived and advised the men to
stop tearing each other apart. Adam left to tuck in Little Adam. Tad blasted
JR for being a pathetic drunk. He informed JR that Amanda was in the
hospital. Tad defended Amanda to JR, reminding him that she had been
manipulated by David just as he had done to Dixie and Krystal. "Sober up,"
advised Tad.
At the penthouse, Ryan told Jack that he wasn't interested in attending
Greenlee's memorial service. Jack tried to dissuade him but Ryan was
adamant, explaining that he wasn't ready to hear Greenlee referred to in the
past tense. After Jack left, Reese arrived and told Ryan that Kendall had
been driving the car; she was shocked when Ryan indicated that he had
already figured that out. Ryan then went to ConFusion and told Zach about
the visit he'd received from Reese. Zach asked what he planned to do with
the info about Kendall. Ryan said he just wanted to know why Zach hadn't
gotten rid of Reese. Kendall arrived and said she was curious about the same
thing. After a Reese-centric squabble, Zach marched out. Ryan told Kendall
that she was right to demand that Zach get Reese to leave. Kendall fretted
that she may have lost Zach for good by pushing him too far. "When did
everything get so out of control?" she sighed.
At Wildwind, David and Krystal were wed. Shortly thereafter, Krystal began
to weep; he comforted her and they made love. She had a nightmare about
giving birth to David's demon child. David's mole called to inform him that
Amanda was admitted to the ER. Krystal told him that she missed Jenny; he
assured her that everything would be okay. He told her that he had to leave
and asked her to wait up for him.
Frank and Jake visited Amanda in the exam room. Amanda admitted that she had
gotten psyched about having a baby. Jake and Frank cheered her up. Angie
entered and told Amanda she knew about David being the daddy. "I'm on your
side," Angie assured her. Angie dispatched the men and, once alone with
Amanda, offered her comfort. Frank and Jake tried to block David from going
to see Amanda but he wouldn't be deterred. When the men burst into Amanda's
room, Angie tried to toss them out, but Amanda said that she would talk to
David. Angie called Krystal and reported that David was with Amanda, who
might be losing the baby.... After David and Amanda traded accusations of
blame for Amanda's condition, he asked her if she was attempting to muster
up the courage to tell him that the baby was his.... Krystal and Angie
talked at the hospital. JR showed up looking for Amanda. JR came in to
Amanda's room as Amanda was about to tell him the truth. "I want to be alone
with the father of my child," said Amanda to David. JR told him to get out.
David and JR nearly came to blows. JR assured Amanda that everything would
be fine. He promised to protect her and the baby from Adam.... Tad reeled
from the news of Krystal's marriage. David saw them and asked Krystal what
she was doing there. She said that she was concerned about him. Tad left and
David told Krystal that he wanted to have a baby with her. "I want us to
have Babe's sister or brother." Krystal looked baffled. Tad rejoined Jake
and Tad wondered why Jake was so concerned about Amanda and the baby.
Zach stormed into the Chandler manse and told Reese to pack her things and
go. Reese refused. "I'm staying in Pine Valley," she declared, "and you and
Kendall can just deal with it." He grabbed her arm and she resisted, sending
her sprawling into a tray of glass, which shattered beneath her.
Thursday
Angie told Frank that the baby would be okay. She was going to tell Amanda,
but David swept in and delivered the news to her himself. David pressed for
a DNA test but Amanda continued to maintain that JR is the father. After
defending David to Angie, Krystal saw JR, who asked her why she seemed so in
favor of his involvement with Amanda. David left Amanda's room and JR
entered, promising that he would protect Amanda and the baby from David.
Krystal told David that she was there to escort him to Greens's service. He
doubted that he would be welcome. Krystal urged him to attend anyway.
Aidan visited Annie in her new home at Oak Haven. Annie was thrilled to have
a window, generous visiting privileges, etc. She threw her arms around him
gratefully. He gave her a blank journal in which to record her feelings and
explained that he had to leave for Greenlee's service. She urged him to deal
with his emotions over the loss of his ex-wife. Aidan opened up to her about
how much Greenlee had hurt him, and made him happy. Once alone, Annie wrote
in her diary to Ryan, saying she now understood that it was time to let him
go and move on. She doodled Aidan's name in a heart, then was called to go
to her group therapy session.
Ryan was home alone, staring at a picture of Greenlee, when Erica called to
leave him a message beseeching him to attend.
At ConFusion, Jack put the finishing touches on his daughter's service.
Erica said that she hadn't been able to reach Ryan. Jack warned Erica that
Mary was coming; La Kane promised to be on her best behavior.
At the police station, Kendall told Natalia that she was there to post bail.
Inside a holding room, Jesse told Zach to just tell him that it was an
accident. Zach refused, saying that he had been angry and that he'd wanted
her gone. Jesse left to sign off on the paperwork when Kendall told him that
she had posted bail. Zach asked Kendall if she was happy that Reese was in
the hospital. She took offense. Zach said he was going to the hospital
instead of Greenlee's memorial.
Reese was at the hospital with bandages over her eyes, having had surgery to
remove the glass from her eyes. Jake couldn't assure her that she would be
fine. He pressed Reese to press charges against Zach. When Zach showed up,
Jake was nasty to him. Erica arrived and Zach told her that his marriage was
in trouble not because of him but because of the fact that the "new" Kendall
wasn't as understanding as the old one. Despite Erica's urgings, Zach said
that he was going to be there when Reese's bandages were removed even though
that meant missing the memorial. He reminded La Kane that she is Kendall's
mother, not his. Zach entered Reese's room and she told him that he and
Kendall both had to get used to the fact that she was staying. She told him
that she didn't want his pity and told him to leave, but he was there when a
specialist entered and removed her bandages. When she opened her eyes, she
couldn't see anything.
Kendall went to Ryan's to try to talk him into attending but she seemed to
fail to get through to him. When she returned to ConFusion, she watched as
Erica warmly welcomed a weepy Mary. Jack and Opal were amazed by the dtente
between the women, both of whom had just lost children.... Ryan showed up
but nearly bolted. Opal stopped him and pleaded with him to stay. Aidan
arrived and Jack asked him to say a few words. "I'd rather not," Aidan
replied. Jack kept Erica's hand in his as he addressed the crowd, which
included JR and Amanda, Jake, the Hubbards, and Randi. Mary and Erica spoke
next, followed by Amanda, Jake, and Kendall. Everything ground to a halt
when Ryan revealed his presence to the group. Kendall greeted him, telling
him that she was glad he was there, and handed the floor to him. Ryan
addressed the other mourners, saying that he didn't know how to say good-bye
to his love. Ryan said he wished he had a sign that she was all right. Just
then, lights flickered.
Aidan came back to see Annie after the memorial. He told Annie that he
realized that he no longer loved Greenlee. Annie and Aidan shared a sweet
first kiss.
At ConFusion, Opal felt Greenlee, cold and alone, tugging on her, which
David dismissed as nonsense. "She's in trouble," Opal insisted. "She's
trapped." .... Kendall consoled Ryan and insisted that he wasn't alone.
Friday
JR and Amanda showed up at Tad's door after Greenlee's memorial service. Amanda thanked him for taking her anywhere but the mansion — and for forgiving him. "After what I did to you, getting involved with David." JR told Amanda not to worry about anything but herself and the baby's health. Amanda said, "Our baby." JR said he would do whatever he could to keep the baby and Amanda safe at Tad's house. After Jake took Amanda upstairs to get settled, Tad congratulated JR for sobering up and choosing to be with Amanda. Krystal showed up. JR told her Amanda was there, and that Amanda had been on David's payroll – her job was to get JR drunk and show he was an unfit father. Tad confirmed David's plan. Krystal didn't want to believe them.
A bit later, Krystal stormed into her house, angry as hell at David. She asked him if he would deny what he did. David blamed it on Amanda, saying it was practically Amanda's idea. But he maintained he was just protecting Little A; he didn't want the Chandlers to have custody of his grandson. Krystal wasn't buying it. She said it was all a game of David's, that David had been lying all the time. "Adam and JR would never let anything happen to that little boy," Krystal said.
JR returned to the Chandler mansion and saw Adam, told him what he'd done. Adam referred to JR sarcastically as a "knight in shining armor," and implied he was playing Amanda, just until the baby was born. JR replied he was protecting them from Adam. Adam tried to put doubt in JR's mind by asking him if JR thought Amanda would want to live with an irresponsible drunk?. JR poured a drink and set it in front of Adam. "Leave it there all week," JR said. "I'm not going to touch it. Then maybe you'll see how serious I am."
Krystal showed up at the Chandler mansion a bit later, and found Little A alone and passed out on the living room floor, having helped himself to the drink JR left on the table. JR ran in and affirmed Little A drank a full glass of scotch. Little A says, sleepily, "I wanted to be like you, Daddy." Krystal was astonished that JR left the glass out on the table. She immediately called the paramedics. Adam rushed in and accused Krystal and David of setting the whole thing up to get custody of Little A. After the paramedics arrived, they told JR Little A threw up the alcohol and should be fine.
Krystal rushed home to tell David he was right — "about Little Adam, the Chandlers, all of them."
Reese was devastated over the turn of events once the bandages were removed from her eyes. Her specialist asked her to tell him what she saw. "Nothing," she replied. Reese became increasingly hysterical, and knowing that Zach was in her hospital room, started screaming at him: "You need to get away from me! You did this!" Reese pointed out that she was staying in PV for Bianca, and then realized she might never see her or Gabrielle's beautiful faces again. Angie arrived to tell Reese there was a good chance the blindness was temporary. Her specialist said drug therapy was the first step, and Angie explained it would take time for the injuries to heal. Outside Reese's room, Jesse asked Angie how Reese was doing, and wondered if she wanted to press charges against Zach. Angie said she didn't know. Jesse said he didn't think Zach was having an affair with Reese, it was just a complicated mess of circumstances, and he thought Zach still loved Kendall.
After Greenlee's memorial service, Ryan admitted he felt alone, and Kendall hugged him, assuring him, "You're not." Opal walked in on them with David and Krystal. David awkwardly offered Ryan his condolences. There was a flash of lightning. Kendall jumped and said it felt just like the night of the tornado. She said the tornado was an act of God, and wondered what she did to make Him so angry. She noted that the tornado brought David back to town, killed Babe, and caused Reese and Bianca to stay in town, and those circumstances are what ultimately killed Greenlee. Ryan didn't want to think of that night and wonder "What if?" "How do we move on?" Kendall asked. Ryan admitted he didn't have a clue. Kendall said, "Maybe the only way for us to move on is to try and get past it together." Ryan took Kendall home, despite her protesting she didn't want to go because she was afraid Zach would not be there. Kendall said she knew she was driving Zach away.
Zach returned to the site of the memorial service, looking for Kendall. Opal told him she last saw Ryan with Kendall, and assumed he was going to take her home. The lights went out. Ryan admitted he was thinking about Greenlee. Ryan asked why it was important to Kendall that he and Greenlee got together. She explained she needed to see Ryan happy. She started crying, and Zach walked in on what appeared to be a very intimate moment.
