AMC Week of March 9, 2009
Monday
Krystal told David about having found Little Adam drunk at the Chandler manse. David flipped. Krystal assured David that since Little Adam had vomited, the paramedics said that the boy would be all right. David was adamant: "We have to file for custody of Little A." He insisted that he had married her because he loved her, not as a means of boosting his odds of getting custody.
JR defended himself to Adam, who was upset that Krystal's 911 call gave David leverage against them. JR blasted Adam for wanting to use Amanda to their advantage, telling him that Amanda's off-limits. Adam huffed that he would do the dirty work if JR was too weak to do so.
Erica came to ConFusion to tend to Opal, who noted that every time she opened her mouth, lives were ruined. She held herself responsible for Greenlee's demise. Erica jumped at Opal's suggestion that something might be going on between Ryan and Kendall.
At the hospital, Angie tried to calm Reese, who was having a hard time adjusting to her blindness. Angie summoned Brot to clean up the results of Reese's tirade. Jesse arrived and told Angie about Little Adam having downed the scotch.... Brot entered Reese's room and swept up the broken glass on the floor. He tried to get through to a bitchy Reese and opened up to her about having been injured in combat. Taylor listened unseen as Brot delivered a very personal pep talk to Reese. "I'm so sorry," said Reese as she felt Brot's scars. Later, Taylor praised Brot for how good he had been
with the patient.
Jesse came to the mansion to follow up on Little Adam. Adam tried to blame the event on Krystal, claiming that she had tried to set them up to appear guilty of child neglect, but Jesse was dubious. Jesse told Adam to make sure that JR didn't leave town.
JR went to see Krystal at Wildwind to reiterate that her grandson would be okay. He and David got into it and David said that his lawyers were already working on getting Little Adam into his (David's) custody.
Zach walked in on Ryan and Kendall in a cozy moment at Ryan's house. Kendall railed at Zach, insisting that the scene was far from romantic. Zach was convinced that Ryan and Kendall were trying to get back at him. After Zach stormed out, Kendall defended her husband to Ryan. Ryan questioned Kendall about whether she still loved Zach. Kendall said that she wanted Zach all to herself and the boys again, that he cared about too many people. Erica
entered and advised Kendall to pour her heart out to Zach, not Ryan. Alone with Erica, Kendall said she didn't understand why everyone thought she was having an affair with Ryan. Erica urged Kendall to help Zach fix their marriage and Kendall told Erica that she was absolutely right and rushed out. Ryan came back downstairs and blasted Erica for thinking that he was pursuing Kendall. He told her that they were no longer friends and told her
to leave. Erica was taken aback but complied. She went to the Chandler manse, where Adam lamented to her about the possibility that he and JR could lose Little Adam. La Kane advised Adam to take the boy out of town. When JR returned, Erica said that she and Adam were taking Little Adam on a vacation. JR said good-bye to Little Adam. Later, Jesse returned with the social worker to take Little Adam into protective custody. JR explained that that wasn't possible, as his son was out of the country. When David heard the news, he exploded in anger. "Adam took our grandson!" he vented to Krystal.
Zach went to see Reese; when he walked into her room, she mistook him for Brot. When Zach revealed that it was him, Reese felt embarrassed for having opened up to him accidentally. Reese said that she hated the hospital and was was leaving. She asked Zach to help her.... Kendall went to the hospital to see Zach and found him escorting Reese out of the hospital. Zach continued to usher Reese down the hallway without stopping to speak to his wife.
Jack came to see Ryan to thank him for coming to the memorial service. He told Ryan that Greenlee had left her shares in Fusion to Ryan.
Tuesday
At the hospital, David blasted Jesse for letting Adam and Erica leave town with Little Adam. Jesse told David that JR had checked himself into the hospital. Krystal joined them and defended JR to Jesse. David ranted and raved about the Chandlers' conspiracy to keep Little Adam away from him. David privately berated Krystal for not painting a picture of JR as negligent.
Amanda went to see JR in his hospital room. She threw her arms around him when he said that he had nearly killed his son the night before, trying to assure him that it had been an accident. JR explained that he checked himself into the hospital to prove that he wasn't drunk at the time Little A took the drink, and that he had also made an appointment with a therapist. Amanda beat herself up over having tried to drive JR to drink. JR told Amanda that their baby would make them better people. When Jesse entered to question him, JR asked Amanda to stay.
Amanda praised JR for how well he handled Jesse. JR said he needed to go to a meeting. Amanda expressed interest in joining him at a meeting sometime. They were accosted by David, Krystal and a process server. David told JR that he and Krystal were suing for full custody.
Annie wrote in her journal about Aidan and wondered why he hadn't been by to see her. Annie's new doc tried to explain to her that Aidan wouldn't be by now that she was safe. Aidan materialized with flowers and Annie was thrilled. The therapist was surprised by Aidan's presence. Once the duo was alone, Aidan told Annie that their kiss was a mistake. Annie disagreed and
convinced him to see things her way, planting another kiss on him. "I like kissing you," Annie beamed. But she said she would back off if he believed that keeping his distance would help her to heal. "Nothing could keep me away," he replied. She left for a group therapy session, but not before he pinned a flower to her hair. Annie's physician entered and urged Aidan to keep his distance from Annie, saying that she would never recover if she was dependent on him. The doctor also reminded Aidan that Annie, once convalesced, would likely stand trial for murder. Later, the shrink caught Annie fantasizing about dancing with Aidan.
Kendall received a visit from Ryan. Kendall told him that Zach hadn't come home the night before. Ryan asked if she wanted a new partner at Fusion: "Me." Kendall was stunned to hear that Greenlee had left her shares to Ryan. She told Ryan about seeing Zach walking Reese out of the hospital. Ryan assured Kendall that he wanted to help her get Fusion back on its feet. Kendall left to try to mend fences with Zach. Pete dropped by with Fusion files. Ryan tricked Pete into giving him access to confidential Cambias
financial data. "Game on," grinned Ryan to himself.
Reese was testy with the specialist that Zach had brought in for her. Zach dismissed the doc and told Reese that he wanted her to let him help her. She bellowed at him to stop bothering her and he left. When he met with the specialist, the doc told him that there was nothing they could do but wait to see if the injured tissue healed. Once alone, Zach relived the accident. Kendall entered Reese's room and Reese accused the person, whose identity
she did not know, of trying to mess with the blind girl. Reese tripped and fell and demanded to know who was in her room. "It's Kendall," said Kendall. Reese assumed that Kendall was there to go off on her, as usual. She blasted Kendall for thinking, wrongly, that Zach wanted to be with her (Reese) and reminded Kendall that it is she, not Kendall, who lost the love her life, her family, "who lost everything." She yelled at Kendall to get out. Shaken by the experience, Kendall went downstairs and told Zach that she had spoken to Reese and realized that a) Reese isn't to blame for everything and b) Reese isn't that terrible a person. "You have to help her see again," Kendall pleaded. Zach asked if he was worthy of a similar show of compassion. Kendall asked her hubby not to let her push him away. After Zach left, Kendall left a message for Bianca informing her of Reese's accident. Zach returned home and told Ryan to get out of his house. Ryan told him that he was now the owner of Greenlee's shares in Fusion. Zach accused him of trying to make a play for Kendall and repeated his order for Ryan to leave. Zach met with Aidan and said he had a project for him concerning Ryan. Ryan went to see Kendall back at the casino. Kendall asked Ryan to swear to her that he isn't using her to bring Zach down.
Wednesday
Amanda told JR that she would testify on his behalf at the custody hearing
for Little Adam and tell the court that David had paid her to get JR drunk.
David panicked to Krystal when he realized that Amanda was going to spill
the beans on the stand. He lamented that he no longer had leverage to force
Amanda to keep mum. Back at Wildwind, Krystal made David promise that he
would never leave her, then divulged that David is the father of Amanda's
baby. David was ecstatic and assured Krystal that he wanted to raise a
family with her, not with Amanda.
At the casino, Kendall made Ryan swear that he isn't using her to bring down
Zach. They discussed Greenlee and agreed to be Fusion patners.
Tad went to the hospital looking for Jake and encountered a testy Brot.
After their run-in, Tad went to see Taylor at her place. Taylor explained
that today was the second anniversary of Brot's accident.... Brot went to
the casino, where he was haunted by memories of his time in combat. Two
soldiers entered, psyched to deploy to the war. As Ryan watched, Brot
approached them and showed them his scars. "War is not a video game," Brot
chastised. Ryan came over and took Brot aside, offering to buy him a drink.
Brot sniffed that Ryan didn't know anything about suffering but felt bad
when Ryan told him about Greenlee.... Brot came by Taylor's and together,
they worked through their memories of the tragic accident.
Zach summoned Aidan to the house to discuss Ryan. He wanted to hire Aidan to
stop Ryan from taking his assets. Aidan agreed to work with Zach on the
condition that Zach get Annie released from Oak Haven. As the sealed their
pact, Kendall returned home. Zach explained that Aidan would be working for
Cambias, then saw Aidan out. Kendall wanted to know what was really going
on. Zach claimed that he had hired Aidan in order to get past his issues
with Devane. Kendall didn't buy it and an argument ensued. Kendall claimed
that Zach's flirtation with Reese was worse than her own infidelity with
Aidan. Zach countered that Kendall becoming business partners with Ryan was
a worse betrayal. Zach made it clear that he wasn't going to let Ryan
destroy his beautiful family. A teary Kendall told Zach that she felt like
she wasn't enough; he assured her that she was. Zach said he was going to
stay at the casino for a while to give them some space. Kendall thanked him
for making the difficult choice for the both of them but redeclared her love
for her husband. Zach said the problem was that she had never stopped loving
Ryan and walked out of the house. When he opened the door, Ryan was standing
there.
At the Martin house, JR and Amanda broke the news to Tad that Krystal and
David were suing for custody. Tad was upset about Krystal's role in the
suit. He went to Wildwind and went off on Krystal; an explosive fight
ensued. Tad attempted to drag Krystal out of the house and she resisted,
knocking him over the head with a vase. Back at the Martins', David took
pleasure in revealing to Amanda that he knows he is the father of her baby.
He threatened to tell everyone unless she kept mum on the stand about what
he had paid her to do.
Aidan went to see Francesca at the casino and told her that Zach had hired
him. When Francesca excused herself to verify Aidan's claim, Aidan sidled up
to Ryan and told him he was working for Zach. Ryan warned Aidan that Zach
can't be trusted.
Thursday
David threatened Amanda, warning her to keep her mouth shut or the world would know that he fathered her baby. A tearful Amanda complied to his wishes. Just then, Krystal called and claimed she might have killed Tad. David showed up and laughed when he heard about Krystal's fight with Tad. "Wake him up!" she insisted. David grabbed a vase and threw water on Tad, prompting him to wake up. When Tad brought up the custody battle, David stressed that he and Krystal were only looking out for Little A's best interests and that JR was not a suitable dad. Just then, the lawyers showed up to take Krystal's statement. Tad asked his ex, "So, this is the day you sell out Babe's son?" and left. Afterward, Krystal had trouble selling out JR but David was reassuring and comforted her enough to get her through it.
Petey and Colby had a good time at the movies, until the returned home to a fire. Colby called 9-1-1 while Petey was insistent on saving his mother, who was babysitting Kathy inside. Petey rushed in. Just then, Taylor and Brot showed up. Though Brot was nervous about the fire, Taylor snapped him into soldier mode and they rushed in to help. Brot ordered Petey out. Taylor carried out Kathy and Petey collapsed from smoke inhalation.
Aidan told Annie he'd fight for her freedom. "I care about you," he claimed. "You love me," she replied. "Maybe," he smiled back. "I love you, Aidan," she beamed. "And I'm falling in love with you," he returned. The pair kissed passionately. Annie pushed him down on the bed. After sex, Annie was jubilant and Aidan reassured that he'd always be there for her.
Kendall told Zach that despite everything, she still loved him. Zach said he knew, but stated she loves Ryan, too. Just then, Ryan arrived to find Zach moving out. After Zach left, Kendall and Ryan discussed their romantic past. Ryan asked if Kendall was still in love with Zach. "Yes, of course I am," she replied. Then they talked about all the "What ifs?" in their lives. Ryan stated that Zach probably went to go see Reese. Kendall began to cry and
Ryan hugged her. They pulled back and looked into each other's eyes. Would they kiss? Just then, she heard, "Mommy!" After Kendall got Spike a drink of water, Aidan showed up looking for Zach. "Zach doesn't live her anymore," Kendall huffed and slammed the door in Aidan's face.
JR visited Amanda, who was on edge. JR couldn't wait for the deposition to crush David. Just then, Amanda had an abdominal pain. JR rushed her to PVH. Alone with Frankie, Amanda cried that David has her exactly where he wants her. JR complained to Angie that he wasn't able to see the mother of his child. Just then, David, Krystal and the lawyers showed up to take Amanda's
deposition. After consulting with Frankie, David examined Amanda and said she was fine but wanted to keep her overnight for observation. David said he'd call in the lawyers now for the deposition.
A dejected Zach showed up at the casino, ready to gamble and drink his troubles away.
A frantic Tad at PVH. Colby filled him in about the fire, stating
that Brot and Taylor saved everyone and were heroes. Angie then informed Tad that Opal was unconscious but stable. Afterward, Angie warned Krystal that David was just using her, but Krystal refused to listen. When Jesse told Angie to back off of Krystal, Angie confessed that David could ruin Frankie because he tampered with Amanda's medical records. Meanwhile, Tad caught up with Taylor and thanked her. "I am so grateful," he whispered, then gave her a hug.
After being examined by Frankie, Brot confessed that the fire freaked him out and he lamented that he had hesitated. Frankie told him that his behavior was normal and pointed out that he saved lives.
During Amanda's deposition, JR was shocked when she told the lawyers that she did not try to get JR to drink.
Jesse lit into his son for falsifying Amanda's records.... Colby was
thrilled to reunite with Petey. Just then, Angie and the other doctors rushed into Opal's hospital room.... David told JR that the baby was his. "How's it feeling, Junior, knowing both your kids belong to me?" David lorded to JR. "You bastard!" Amanda screamed. Tad found David and was ready to punch him when Brot held him back.... Aidan caught up with Zach at the casino.... Kendall told Ryan he could come back any time, day or night. Ryan left and Kendall sat down and sighed.
Friday
Angie examined Opal at the hospital and told Tad that his mom would be just fine. Opal was devastated about the loss of the mansion. Opal told Tad that she's the one who started the fire. Jake arrived with solemn news: she's broke.... Pete fretted about how Colby would react to his new pennilessness. Randi tried to reassure him. Natalia then inadvertently broke the news to Randi that Frank is headed back to Iraq in a week; Randi was understandably upset.... Tad told Jake that Opal and Pete would be moving in with them.
Frank and JR fought over Frank having helped Amanda conceal the true paternity of her baby. Krystal entered and JR blasted her, as well. "You disgust me," he spat, telling her that Babe would be ashamed of her. Krystal smacked JR across the face.
David warned Amanda that she would live to regret it if she tried to keep his kid away from him, "or maybe you won't." He went into the lobby to find Angie, Frank, Krystal and JR bellowing at each other. David and JR almost ended up in fisticuffs. JR went back into Amanda's room to demand to know if he was literally the last to know about David being the father. Amanda told JR that she loved him. He said that he was there to say good-bye, that he never wanted to see her again. "You don't mean that," she wept. Jake pulled Amanda out of the room when he violently told her that she and her baby could go to hell. Tad intervened and Jake told Tad to get JR out of there. Tad promised JR that he hadn't known the truth about the baby. JR warned Tad that if Tad lets Amanda stay with her, she will poison him, too.... Jake offered to help Amanda protect the baby from David at any cost.... David told Krystal that he'd exposed Amanda's secret "because she had it coming." David was unconcerned about the damage Amanda could do to their bid for custody. "You want Amanda's baby, don't you," accused Krystal. He denied it.
Annie and Aidan flirted in her Oak Haven room and ended up having sex. She told him that with him, everything makes sense. Aidan assured her that Emma was doing well. Aidan evaded Annie's questions about whether he was working for Zach but his ears perked up when she mentioned Pete's savvy with computers. After Aidan left, Annie got a visit from a psychology student named Torie, who wanted to interview Annie for her thesis. Annie offered to help her find a boyfriend. Annie lost her cool when Tori mentioned Ryan. Torie excused herself.
Kendall came to Fusion with Spike and Ian in tow. She discussed Zach with Ryan who urged her to call her hubby, despite his hatred for him.
Zach was present when a specialist told Reese that there was no change in her condition. After the doc left, Zach told Reese that he left Kendall. Kendall called and asked him to come to Fusion; he agreed. When he showed up, Zach took Spike out of Ryan's arms. Ryan made himself scarce. Zach sarcastically suggested that Ryan become the new face of Fusion. Zach left and met up with Aidan at the casino. He told him that Ryan had been using Kendall to gain access to Cambias documents but that he had installed a higher-security firewall. Pete, meanwhile, helped Ryan to overcome the
firewall. Ryan swore Pete to secrecy. Ryan once again swore to Kendall that he wasn't using her to get to Zach. Zach told Aidan that a firewall wouldn't be enough. Aidan wanted Zach's reassurance that he would get Annie released. Zach was pulled aside when a letter for Reese arrived from Bianca.... Ryan slammed down his laptop when Kendall entered the room. "What are you hiding from me?" she asked.
Frank went to ConFusion and confided in Randi about what had happened with Amanda at the hospital. She was testy, knowing that he was hiding a huge secret from him. He figured out that she knew that he was going back to Iraq and asked who had told her. "It doesn't matter," she snapped. "It wasn't you." Frank explained that he had planned to tell her when it felt right but made it clear that he had no choice but to return to combat.
Angie visited Reese in her room at the casino. Reese softened and the women bonded as they talked about their respective lost loves. "What if I never see her again?" sighed Reese about Bianca. Angie was confident that she would get a miracle just like Angie had.... Zach read Bianca's letter to Reese. Reese sobbed in Zach's arms. "I want Bianca and I want my family," she wept. She pushed Zach aside.
Pete took Colby to the Valley Inn for their date (free hors d'ouerve). When he broke the news that he's destitute, she made it clear that she couldn't care less.
