JR pulled back from making love with Marissa after being overwhelmed with memories of Annie. JR swore to his wife that he doesn't still think of Annie.
Scott admitted to Annie that he stole the specs for technology that Palmer had developed for Cortlandt. Annie approved of him claiming the invention as his own. To prove that she was sincere in her interest in him, she took off her wedding ring. JR came downstairs and Annie exited. While Scott and JR bickered over whose leadership would be best for the company, Marissa dragged Annie to BJ's for a private chat, where she asked Annie to begin to consider the consequences of her actions to others. Annie told Marissa that she wasn't responsible for the problems in Marissa's marriage and stalked off. Annie returned home and saw JR with Scott's schematics. JR accused Annie of making a play for Scott to make him jealous or because she thought Scott was going to get rich. She accused him of still wanting her. Marissa privately observed how flustered he seemed.
Ryan told Jesse that Erica is innocent. Jesse wondered if Ryan was responsible, at which Ryan took offense. Ryan frantically tried to reach Erica.
David panicked that Erica's plane had taken off, since he had paid a technician to tamper with it in the hopes of keeping it grounded. He had to hang up when Greenlee entered. Greenlee went to Fusion, where Madison reported that Jesse was questioning Ryan about the Miranda embezzlement. Greens felt guilty. She called David at the hospital and learned that he'd lied to her about being headed straight for the hospital. She went home and confronted him. David came clean with Greens about disabling Erica's plane. Greens was horrified. He stopped her from calling for a rescue party, begging her to give him some more time to figure out their next move. Ryan showed up to discuss Erica.
Erica's plane made an emergency landing. Someone came aboard the wreckage to carry the injured pilot to safety. He returned to carry her to safety, as well. In the wilderness where the plane had crashed, Erica tried to get the man to talk to her. He finally snapped and revealed that the crash had destroyed his home. The man told Erica that no one was coming to rescue her. Erica told him who she was and he claimed never to have heard of her. Erica insisted to the man that he help her get down the mountain. The man told Erica that she couldn't stay at his nearby cabin. Erica told him that she would buy him a new house. He very reluctantly agreed to let her stay but refused to help her with her luggage for the long trek to his cabin. He threw two of her suitcases into the forest.
Liza came to see Colby and encouraged her to take an internship in New York. Colby saw it as a ploy to get her away from Damon but the women had a mature, connected conversation that moved Liza. After Liza left, Damon offered to go to New York with Colby. She dug the idea and they went to the yacht club to try to get him a short-term job to raise cash for the trip.
Krystal informed Tad that she had purchased BJ's and renamed it Krystal's. She asked him to buy her half of the house to help her fund it, though she would still pay him rent. He didn't like the idea because he didn't want her to move out down the line but respected her desire to fund the venture on her own. Liza showed up to try to make amends with Tad. It didn't go that well. Liza went to the club in time to foil Damon's job interview.
Ryan went to Wildwind to confront David and Greenlee about Erica. They denied being responsible for the Miranda scandal or Erica's disappearance. Before Ryan left, Greens told him that she was still planning to attend Emma's birthday party. Ryan went to the casino, where Jack was waiting to discuss the whole mess. Back at Wildwind, David tried to soothe Greenlee's frayed nerves. David revealed that he had sent a text to Jack "from Erica" after hacking into Erica's PDA.... Ryan protected Madison from an aggressive reporter seeking comment about Erica.
Greenlee went to Fusion and told Randi that she was going to make a video statement about Erica. Jack went to Wildwind to warn David that he'd "better not" find out that David is behind Erica's crisis. David watched Greens's video conference pensively. Jack arrived to watch his daughter in person. Greens felt terribly guilty while chatting with her dad. Jack left a message for Erica and fingered the engagement ring he planned to proffer to her. Back at home, David told Greens that she'd done a great job with the conference and that they should celebrate, but she was in no mood for a party, worried over Erica's disappearance and what it would do to her father.
Erica's rescuer and Erica made their way to his cabin, bickering all the way. He got injured and Erica had to pop his shoulder back into its socket. In the cabin, Erica entreated the man to bring her to rescue, but he was determined to remain in seclusion. Frustrated, Erica decided to set out on her own, but promptly tripped and hurt herself, which forced her to return indoors. The man finally coughed up his name: Caleb.
Colby, Damon, Tad and Krystal met up at Krystal's. Krystal agreed to hire Damon. Liza looked at the foursome from the outside of the restaurant before wandering off alone.
Annie cheered on Scott, who was preparing to announce Chandler's new invention, which, of course, he had stolen from Palmer. JR burst in, upset because someone had told the press that Adam had left town due to a family betrayal. After bickering with JR, Marissa stormed out. In front of a reporter, JR told Annie that she could have Emma's birthday party there. Annie told the reporter that she is the one who betrayed Adam. She claimed that she had developed feelings for someone: Scott. After the reporter left, JR lashed out at Annie, but Scott and Annie both took the position that Annie had saved JR's hide. Marissa overheard the tail end of the conversation and accused JR of being upset that Annie was turning to Scott. Scott, meanwhile, asked Annie to move back into the mansion. Scott and Annie made out as JR pledged his devotion to Marissa, who was not so easily sated. JR saw Scott and Annie smooching.
Tad delivered proof to Damon that Damon is not Stuart's father. Tad and Damon negotiated Damon moving in with Tad, which Tad wanted him to do. Liza went to Krystal's to discuss Tad and Damon. Krystal refused to help Liza separate Damon and Colby.
Jake and Amanda luxuriated in bed. He wanted their wedding to be in two weeks. She loved the idea of having their wedding on their one-year anniversary. They went to Krystal's and Amanda asked her to be in her wedding party. Marissa came to vent to Krystal about JR and Annie. Tad showed up next to chat with Krystal. Amanda wanted to play cupid for Tad and Liza. She left and went to Fusion, where Jake had surprised her with a selection of wedding dresses.
Liza went to the Chandler manse and offered Damon money to stay away from Colby. When Colby entered, Liza and Damon covered. Colby and Damon went for a stroll and he told her about the check. Damon assured Colby that he planned to use the money to fund their New York trip. He told Colby that he was going to move back in with Tad. Jake showed up with more gifts and a photographer to document their engagement. Liza and Tad converged at Jake and Liza's house. Tad asked Liza to back off Damon and she said no. Colby and Damon decided to consummate their relationship the night of Jake and Amanda's wedding.
Today's episode was pre-empted.
Jesse and Angie did work at Krystal's. She was under great stress due to David's new hospital ownership. He was preoccupied with Erica's disappearance and the Miranda scandal.
JR and Marissa found AJ playing with Annie before Emma's birthday party. Marissa privately lashed out at Annie for committing AJ to going to the party. JR assured AJ that things are fine between him and Marissa. Scott overheard JR telling AJ that only people born into the family are the only true Chandlers.
At the yacht club, Emma invited Madison to the party. Madison went to Fusion, where Jesse came for a chat about David. Frankie stopped by in search of Randi. After catching up with Frankie, Madison found out that the Fusion hospitality suite was available for the night and decided to stay there.
At Fusion, Greenlee was overwhelmed with guilt over Erica. David entered. He tried to talk her out of going to Emma's party, but she insisted. David left after reassuring Greenlee that he still thinks Erica is alive.
David and Angie talked at the hospital. She wanted to try to get along for the sake of the hospital, she claimed, and invited David and Greenlee to dine with her and Jesse. She then broke the news to Jesse. Angie had to tend to a young boy in a medical emergency.
Annie tried to keep her cool when Greenlee arrived for Emma's party. Emma wanted to open Greens's present first. Annie walked out of the room to calm herself down and encountered JR. Greens tried to stay calm when Emma said that she wished Erica had been able to come. Ryan said that Annie had gone upstairs; an upset Marissa went in search of them. Annie enjoyed the flustering effect she had on JR. Marissa found out that the leak in the gatehouse had been fixed and reported it to Scott. David came by with a gift that he claimed was from Erica. David was thrilled when Marissa asked him to help her get rid of Annie. Greens was livid with David for bringing the gift. Annie thanked Scott for letting her have the party there. Marissa told JR to get rid of Annie if she wanted to save their marriage.
