Adam tried to calm Annie, who was upset that Emma was in the hospital and she couldn't see her. "My daughter needs me," she cried. She urged him to pull some strings. He assured her he would once the judge called him back. Scott came in and revealed that he was working with the judge to get a court order to help Annie. Adam called the judge to thank him. Now alone, Annie and Scott discussed the night Stuart died. She wished things had been different. He insisted nothing would have changed and Stuart would still be dead. Scott asked if she could go back, would she stay and help Adam or run off with Emma. She admitted she didn't know. A courier arrived. Scott signed for the papers and handed them to Annie. He offered to drive her to the hospital, but she said he had done more than enough and took off.

At the hospital, Jesse was about to enter Kendall's room but Erica stopped him, claiming Kendall was sleeping, but really, she was talking to Aidan. Jesse asked Erica why he bailed Aidan out of jail. Angie approached during their conversation and pulled her husband aside. She chided him for being in the hospital when Natalia was getting her shield that night. Jesse said he couldn't make it, explaining that he was helping Zach help his family. "Again, at the expense of your own," Angie pointed out. Inside, Aidan asked Kendall what was going on. She explained that she needed him to violate the conditions of his bail. He asked which. "All of them," she replied. She explained what she wanted him to do; he pointed out if he did, there was no going back. He left her room and ran right into Jesse, who warned him to stop whatever he was doing. Aidan shrugged that Jesse worried too much. Jesse went into Kendall's room and urged her to not let Zach take the blame for everything.

At the station, Natalia was beaming in her uniform. Frankie gave her a hug — and a gift from him and Randi. She groused that their father didn't come. He pointed out that it might have been a blessing in disguise because people might be distracted by Jesse's presence. She thanked him for coming and began her first shift. Brot entered, holding a uniform. He said he was starting the academy and would be on an accelerated path because of his experience in Iraq. A sergeant came over and gave Natalia a transport assignment at the hospital.... Frankie went to the hospital and ran into Angie. She asked how the graduation was. He said it was all okay, except for the fact that Jesse didn't show. Angie defended her husband. Frankie wondered why she was so on edge. She said they were short-staffed. He said he could pitch in. She handed him a bunch of charts.

Liza got into a physical brawl with Kendall's double.... Zach asked Ryan to take care of Ian. Ryan asked why; Zach cryptically said he'd find out soon enough. Ryan pushed him to explain but Zach was still evasive. He urged Ryan to trust him. Ryan relented, noting to Zach that he was only helping for Emma's sake.... Liza called Zach and revealed that the double had escaped. He said it was okay; they didn't need her anymore. He insisted he had everything under control.

Zach called D.A. Willis and asked him to come to the hospital. Erica overheard the conversation and asked why he was contacting Willis. He thought Kendall told her. Zach hurried off and ran into Aidan. He warned Aidan not to do whatever Kendall asked. Aidan insisted Annie needed to pay for what she had done. Zach entered Kendall's room while she was talking to Jesse.... Liza headed to the hospital, looking for Zach. Jesse told her he was in with Kendall. Liza panicked that she would wind up in trouble with the double now on the loose. Jesse told her it would be okay.... In Kendall's room, Kendall lamented that she was losing Zach just when she got him back. He assured her he wasn't going anywhere. Kendall asked him to promise to wait for her, no matter how long it took. "It's you and me. We're for always," he declared. Jesse poked his head in to say it was time for Kendall to go. Zach asked for a minute alone with her. With tears streaming down her cheeks, she told him she loved him and only him. They kissed. Zach headed out. Aidan came in, karate chopped a cop and hustled Kendall out of the hospital. Before they made it to an exit, Jesse and two cops pulled guns. Aidan did, too. A cop alerted the D.A., who was meeting with Zach. They rushed to the scene. Natalia arrived at the hospital and sneaked up behind Aidan and Kendall, with a gun in hand. She fired her weapon.

Erica visited Emma and urged the little girl to open her eyes. She said she might fill Emma's room with stuffed animals or get her favorite singer to perform if Emma would wake up, but said that the best reason for Emma to wake up would be for Ryan. Ryan came into sit with his daughter and also urged her to wake up. Annie entered and asked how Emma was. Ryan answered tersely. Annie handed Ryan her court order and told him he wouldn't be able to keep her from her daughter. Angie and Frankie wanted to perform some tests on Emma. They asked Annie and Ryan to wait outside. There, they argued over their little girl. He told Annie to come forward and admit that she killed Stuart, noting that only she could get Emma to wake up by telling the truth.
