AMC Week of October 6, 2008
Monday
Erica came to see Adam and expressed her concern over Opal's visions of
impending doom. He accused her of actually coming over because she didn't
want to be alone; she denied it.
Kendall and Zach took a feverish Emma to the hospital.
At Fusion, Greenlee and Amanda cheered the latest positive numbers for
Bella. Greens was mesmerized by the image of the moon in Bella's logo.
Ryan admired Stuart's in-progress painting of the moon. Kendall called with
the news about Emma. Ryan took off. Taylor jogged by and stopped to chat
about the moon with Stuart.
A pensive Annie sat on the Chandler patio. Babe briefly joined her, then
went inside. Someone was watching from the trees and Annie called for help.
Adam, Erica, Babe and JR came running. Annie sensed that no one believed her
when she said she'd seen someone spying on her. Annie phoned Jesse, who
asked her to come down to the station. There, Jesse grilled Annie again
about how the gun had ended up in her room. "Why doesn't anyone believe me?"
she wailed. Jesse made it clear that he found it suspicious that she hadn't
called about the Richie case in a while.
At the hospital, Jake examined Emma. Down the hall, a man and his
bride-to-be were flipping out because she was having a bad reaction to Bella
perfume. Ryan arrived and Emma jumped excitedly into his arms. Zach was
upset with Kendall for calling Ryan but not Annie. Kendall defended her
decision. Kendall was confronted by the angry groom, who recognized her as a
Fusion exec. Angie took the bottle of perfume in question for testing.
Ryan showed up at the police station as Annie was on her way out. Ryan told
Annie that Emma had been to the hospital. Annie was upset that Kendall
hadn't called her. Ryan went back to admire Stuart's painting again.
At the manse, JR accused Erica of being in cahoots with Adam to take over
Fusion. She sniffed that he watched too much TV. Adam entered and insisted
that Erica found him irresistible. He told JR to leave ("Don't you have a
wedding to plan?").
Kendall arrived at Fusion while the group was celebrating Bella's numbers.
Kendall broke up the party with the news about Bella sending people to the
hospital. Kendall railed at Amanda and Babe for not having followed through
when they got a call from a retailer that indicated a possible problem with
the product. Angie called to confirm that the product was tainted. Kendall
raked Babe and Amanda over the coals and demanded that they carry out a full
recall. Kendall took Greens aside and said that she thought Adam might be
behind the tainting, possibly with Pete's help. She left after vowing to
prove it. Kendall stormed into the Chandler mansion to accuse Adam of being
behind Bella's possible downfall, interrupting Erica's efforts to get Adam
to 'fess up.... Amanda blasted herself for the crisis with Bella.
Jake sidled up to Taylor at The Comeback. He accused her of having been
avoiding him. She tried to leave but he got her to admit that she feels
vulnerable around him. "There, you happy now?" she groused. She explained
that being touchy-feely makes her feel weak. Jake told Taylor that he thinks
she's amazing and that she challenges him; she said she was done thinking
for the night. He put on some music and asked her to dance. They were both
affected by their slow dance.
Annie went to the Slater house to rant and rave about Kendall not having
called her about Emma. Zach let Annie visit with Emma. After she tucked Emma
in, she chatted with Zach and asked him if she thinks he's crazy. Annie told
Zach that she was being stalked by a man who had grabbed her the previous
evening. Zach told Annie that he would help her get Emma back.
Ryan and Greenlee had a chance encounter as they both were out reflecting
and gazing at the moon.
Tuesday
Taylor was uncomfortable with her attraction to Jake and pulled away during
their dance at the Comeback. Jake tried to understand why Taylor was so
reluctant to let her guard down. She said that the old Taylor had died the
year before, when Brot died. Tad walked in as Taylor was rushing out and
Krystal filled him in on what had just happened. Tad sat down with Jake and
probed him about his interest in Taylor. Jake got defensive when Tad brought
up Carolyn, then left when Amanda beckoned by text. Krystal got Tad to admit
that he's working on a new case, investigating Taylor. Tad said his client
was anonymous.... Taylor made a cryptic phone call and froze when a woman
answered.
At the Chandler manse, Kendall warned Adam not to mess with Fusion. Erica
tried to play referee as Adam and Kendall bickered. Babe and JR entered and
asked Adam if he was responsible for tainting the perfume. Adam turned the
tables on his son and future daughter-in-law, revealing that Babe intended
to use Bella to take over Fusion herself. Babe denied it. Erica privately
told Kendall that she was hurting her cause by flinging accusations around.
Kendall accused Erica of believing Adam over her. After Kendall left, JR and
Babe blasted Adam for throwing Babe under the bus. Once alone with Adam,
Erica told him she agreed with him that Kendall was in over her head at
Fusion.... JR and Babe discussed whether Adam could truly have tainted
Bella; JR thought it smelled like Adam through and through.
Zach told Annie that he would help her get Emma back. He asked Annie if he'd
go see a therapist friend of his.
Greenlee and Ryan encountered each other at the boathouse. They chatted
about their shared love of the moon. Via the listening device he'd planted
on his wife, Aidan listened in on their exchange.
The press descended upon Fusion seeking comment on the Bella disaster.
Amanda tried to field their questions. Greenlee, Randi, Pete and Amanda did
some brainstorming about how to handle the crisis. Pete looked away when
Greens reported that Kendall thinks Adam is behind the mess. Kendall came in
and picked up on the fact that something seemed different about Greenlee.
Randi gave Kendall a delivery to take home; it was Stuart's moon painting,
which Greens correctly guessed Ryan had purchased for Emma. Jake arrived and
was glad to offer moral support to Amanda.... Adam called a press conference
indicting Fusion for the Bella situation, which was watched in the office by
the Fusion staffers. Adam urged his fellow citizens to sue the company.
Amanda broke down in tears.... Pete's conscience began to eat at him....
After leaving Fusion, Greens returned to the boathouse. Aidan followed.
Ryan sat down with Zach and they chatted about the upcoming custody hearing.
Annie returned and was thrown to see Ryan. Their brief meeting was a tense
one, though Ryan told Annie he knows that he loves their little girl. He
admitted to Annie that he thinks he's going to prevail in the custody
hearing. When Kendall returned home, she ignored Annie, who vented to Zach
about feeling invisible. She told him that she would meet with his
psychiatrist friend. Annie threw her arms around Zach when he agreed to go
with her to her appointment.
Wednesday
At the Chandler manse, Pete beseeched Adam not to sue Fusion. He tried to
convince Adam that he'd be made into mincemeat on the stand. Adam excused
himself when Colby showed up. Pete blabbed to Colby that he's the one who
tainted Bella. Colby was horrified.
After Annie bolted awake and nearly injured Babe in the process, JR and Babe
concurred that Annie was nuts and needed to leave the house. Babe told JR
that she feared they wouldn't make it as a couple. She proposed that they
give themselves a fighting chance by moving back to San Diego. He readily,
and emotionally, agreed. Babe excused herself and JR broke the news to Adam
that he was leaving town. Colby arrived and told JR she didn't want him to
leave. "I give it a month, tops," scoffed Adam. JR left. Colby assured Adam
that she wouldn't leave him — on the condition that he come clean about the
Bella scandal. Adam warned that such a move would end up ruining Pete's
life. Colby was disgusted that Adam would sell out Pete to save himself.
Zach was surprised to learn that Ryan had spend the night at his place. He
phoned Annie and escorted her to the psychiatrist. Ryan told Kendall not to
let him become an issue in his marriage. Kendall assured Ryan that she and
Zach were on solid ground.... At the therapist's, Annie claimed to be over
her efforts to win back Ryan, but did some ranting and raving about the
"bitches" who are trying to brainwash people against her. She also insisted
that she was being stalked but that that too was a plan of Kendall and
Greenlee's.... Ryan, who learned that Emma had strep throat, told Kendall to
focus on her own family when Kendall again pressed him to make a move on
Greenlee.... After her therapy session, Annie went back to the mansion and
again became aware of the presence of someone watching her. She challenged
the person to show themselves.... The doc, as it turned out, was in cahoots
with Zach — to secure custody of Emma for Ryan, not for Annie.
Tad went to see Taylor and told her that he could help her get back to Iraq.
He used this as his means of asking her personal questions about her
background and she clammed up. A stonewalled Tad came home and a flustered
Krystal told Tad that she remained worried about Opal's prediction of
impending doom. Babe showed up and privately told her mom that she was
moving to California. Krystal approved.... Tad learned of JR and Babe's
plans from JR and told JR he was proud of him. JR, Babe, Tad, Krystal and
the kids embraced as they prepared to say good-bye.
Randi and Frank moved into their new place. Taylor came by and Randi left.
Taylor asked Frank if he would help her with something.
JR and Babe returned to the manse with Little Adam. Adam fought back tears
as he embraced his grandson. He told JR that he would like updates on Little
A but otherwise didn't need to hear from JR. "Have a nice life," he said.
Thursday
JR was livid after Annie nearly took his head off. Babe and Colby tried to
do damage control as Annie ranted that Greenlee was after her, but skeptical
and annoyed JR simply told her that it was a good thing. Annie warned him
to stay out of her life and stormed off. JR said that he was glad to be
getting out of Pine Valley, but Colby told JR and Babe she wished they would
stay. JR reassured Colby that she would always have a place in their life.
Colby said that in spite of everything, she was really happy for her
brother. JR jokingly warned his little sis that when Pete proposed, just
say no. JR was sad that Adam wouldn't speak to JR before leaving. JR gave
his home one last look, and called out "goodbye dad."
Zach and the doctor discussed Annie's unstable mental state.After
observing her paranoid behavior (she was convinced she was being stalked),
he told Zach he would have no trouble testifying. Annie met with her doctor
to continue her tirade. As her stream of consciousness picked up speed,
Annie accidentally admitted that she killed Richie! Horrified, Annie tried
to cover her tracks to no avail. Though the doctor feigned sympathy, Annie
panicked, realizing he'd have to go to the police and that Kendall, Richie
and Greenlee have won. Just as the doc was getting through to Annie, Zach's
cell phone rang. Her paranoia finally warranted, Psycho Annie smashed the
mirror (Seven years bad luck? That's the last thing this poor girl needs!),
but Zach had snuck out.
After Greenlee returned home to shower, Aidan tested out her bugged earring.
After showering, Greenlee and Aidan resisted the urge to get busy when
Greenlee insisted she get to Fusion to do damage control. Aidan stopped her
from leaving without her earrings. Over at Fusion, Amanda was overwhelmed
with the Bella backlash. Kendall dryly asked where Babe was, noting that
Bella was, after all, her idea. Greenlee arrived at Fusion and got into it
with Kendall over Ryan as Aidan listened in. Kendall told Greenlee that
Ryan needed support. Babe walked in and shocked the girls by announcing her
resignation. Babe told the Fusion girls to blame her for everything. Babe
admitted to them that she was plotting the takeover. Babe said that most of
all she'd value her friendship and that she'd miss everyone — everyone. As
Babe tearfully told the girls that she was moving away, Greenlee got a phone
call from Ryan — he needed to see her right away. Greenlee rushed out.
Fusion then suffered another blow when Kendall was informed by the FDA that
Fusion was being shut down. hen Jake arrived to comfort a devastated
Amanda, Aidan mistook their smooching for Greenlee and Ryan's — Greens had
left the earrings on the desk.
Opal weirded out Jake as she ranted about her horrible visions. When Opal
saw Ryan walk in to the hospital, she realized that her visions were about
him. Ryan, Jake and Opal had an awkward moment. After hearing about Opal's
bad dreams, Ryan questioned her. Opal told Ryan that she had a bad omen —
and it was about him. Later, Ryan lamented to Greenlee about his loveless
marriage, the custody battle, and decided that he was going to fight for
what's right. Ryan reached out to Greenlee, telling her that they belonged
together, that they were destined to be together. He implored her not to
deny her feelings. As she stood, speechless, Ryan pulled her into a kiss.
Greenlee pulled away and once again reaffirmed her love and loyalty to
Aidan.
Taylor and Frank talked about Brot. Taylor told Frank that she wanted to
meet Brot's mother and wanted Frank to go with her. Taylor told Frank that
she wanted to tell Brot's mother how much she loved him. They arrived at
Mrs. Monroe's house and the two awkwardly introduced themselves as Mrs.
Monroe got choked up. Taylor and Frank paused when they saw Brot's badges
and flag. While the three discussed Brot's life as a soldier, Taylor
realized that he'd never mentioned her to his mother. Heartbroken, she ran
out. Later, Taylor wondered to Frank if Brot ever even loved her.
Friday
Erica came to see Adam, who was playing in Little Adam's room. Disturbed by
Adam's comment about Carmen being off cavorting with Jack, Erica suggested
that she and Adam have some fun, too. As they were heading out, Jack and
Carmen returned from an overnight jaunt. Alone with Erica, Jack probed La
Kane about why she was spending time with Adam. Real feelings appeared to be
brewing between Erica and Adam.
Angie and Jesse nuzzled at their place before heading out for the night.
Jesse hung back in the house for a moment while Angie encountered a young
lady in the hallway. Jesse joined and the young lady introduced herself as
Natalia. Jesse's smile fell, then he hurried Angie into the elevator. Frank
bumped into Nat when he came by to collect the rest of his stuff from his
folks' place. She asked if she could use the restroom. He invited her in.
Natalia subtly questioned Frank about his folks. Jesse called Nat's cell
phone; she took the call privately and told Jesse that she needed to see
him. Jesse summoned Natalia to the boathouse. Natalia described her mother
as extremely depressed and in need of Jesse's help. She referred to Jesse as
her dad and Jesse said that she would always love her. Jesse argued that her
mom is stronger than Nat is giving her credit for. "Not anymore," countered
Natalia.... Angie came home and sent Frank packing so that she could set up
a romantic dinner with Jesse.
At Fusion, Ryan challenged Greenlee to look him in the eye and say that she
didn't love him. Disgusted, Aidan, who was listening in via the listening
device he'd planted on Greens, headed out of the penthouse — missing
Greenlee's firm declaration of love for him (Aidan). Before exiting, Ryan
pointedly asked why she kissed him if she was committed to her hubby. Aidan
entered and exposed to Greens that she had bugged her. Greens told Ryan to
leave as Aidan ranted and raved, accusing her of infidelity. Greens was
horrified and tried to defend herself to Aidan, and he was remorseful when
she said the kissing and moaning he'd overheard was courtesy of Jake and
Amanda, not her and Ryan. The reveal did nothing to temper the duo's
argument.
Annie, Zach and Kendall arrived at the courthouse for Emma's custody
hearing. Zach revealed to Annie that he'd been spying on her and that he
knew she killed Richie. Furthermore, Zach added, the doctor was going to
testify against her unless she forfeited custody to Ryan. When the hearing
got underway, Annie interrupted the judge's opening remarks. With
difficulty, she told the court that she was unable to provide Emma with a
stable home environment. After the case was resolved in Ryan's favor, the
doc congratulated Annie for her courage. Ryan and Kendall puzzled over
Annie's change of heart. Ryan and Emma had a warm reunion. Kendall figured
out that Zach had been working to get Emma back to Ryan. Ryan and Annie told
Emma that she would be living with Ryan. Greenlee arrived and was happy to
hear that Emma was going home with Ryan. Annie lashed out at Greenlee before
collapsing in sobs.
Pete came by the mansion to see Colby. Pete tried to explain that he'd
teamed up with Adam in an effort to win her over. Colby said that such a
tactic might work with a woman like Erica, but not with her. Colby reported
that she'd told Adam she would keep quiet about what he did to Bella so long
as he protected Pete; he was moved. "You really want to impress me?" she
asked. "Quit trying to be someone you're not."
