Shame another character down the drain. I had read somewhere a long time ago that he was leaving but he never did so I was hoping that it was just a rumor. Wonder how they will write him out of the show?

Since they have it on the SOD home page, I am assuming that Austin Peck has been let go, and he will not be recast. The only scenario that makes sense is Brad dies or is assumed dead, but kidnapped by James Stenbeck or something. Brad would never leave a pregnant Katie.

so SOD breaking news says he'll leave in a "shocking" way, which means a proper send off integrated into the storyline that impact story appropriately....glad it wasn't some "escorted off the set" firing that I have read has happened to other actors , on other soaps, on other networks....Just in passing , AP /Brad S. has put in some good work /had good work to do lately .... "Meatball continuity " will not be forgotten anytime soon, and the whole Katie-Brad -Vienna-Henry rectangle about pregnancy and surrogacy was funny , fun, contemporary , cool, and sometimes, even moving...

ugh! i hate this. he is one of the best characters on the show. i loooove katie and brad.they'll prolly kill him which is so stupid. they were just gonna get what they wanted. they could create story for them some other way.

There is more about this rumor on Austin's Wikipedia page. It also names the woman co-star.....

whoa.... whatever aspect of truth there is to this.... the cast has been acting up a storm ( to cover their feelings in regards to castmates)... one of the hazards of soap( and generally acting overall) relationships is that sometimes people can get too close , blurring the lines between the fiction and reality.... sometimes it really is about love ( notable soap romances have evolved to become stable and celebrated unions) .... though sometimes the work environment may become toxic and tense because actors have brought too much of their off screen lives to the set and/or vice versa.In any case , put aside judgements one way or another. Lessons to be learned from this...

Exactly. Which is why I wouldn't post the co-stars name here. We don't know the whole story, but I can imagine it would be tough for their co-stars as they were both married. Hopefully, things will work out for all involved....

That is true that Wikipedia is not reliable. However, going through all his married co-stars, the one listed does make the most sense. It's on her Wikipedia too, and interviews with other co-stars in the past make note of socializing with her and her hubby. Regardless, I guess none of it is anybody's business but theirs and their spouses, unless it creates an unwelcome work environment. But there are other co-stars past who have gotten together this way on many soaps. It's too bad if it is true that this is what was partially to blame for Austin Peck losing his job. I hope that it at least stirs up some good story so all will be not lost. But I think it is a terrible waste of a good actor and a good character.
