Is this really the best we can do? The Emmy awards were just awful. I did like the tribute to Dick Clark and I do like that Maura West and Michael Park won and a few others but mostly I am upset about the "Best Show". Bold and the Beautiful is not a good show. Nothing original on it and it to me actually makes fun of soaps. I used to watch and I gave up on it after Brooke and Ridge broke up and got back together for the 100th time. Now I read she has just had sex with another one of her daughters loves and this is the best show? Please. AMC wasn't good this year but there are other shows that didn't get nominated that should have been like One Life To Live. I am sorry but if this is the best we can do, than I am done...

I've watched the Emmy Awards for years, now.....and I can say without a doubt that this was the worse show ever!! CBS was more concerned with promoting Vegas than the soaps. Why waste so much time with The Lion King performance or the Blue Man Group? Which has absolutely nothing to do with daytime. No tributes to the people that we lost in daytime this past year. Are you kidding me? I'm happy for the people at As The World Turns, but CBS if you're feeling guilty for cancelling their show and think that an Emmy is going to ease things over, you would be wrong. They did no tributes to GL or ATWT....because I'm sorry that little clip thing that they did for As The World Turns was crap and doesn't count in my book. A show that's been on the air for 53 years and that was all you could do? Give me a break. And the final nail on the coffin....B&B winning for best soap. You've got to be f&*$*@# kidding me? B&B is a joke, and I feel like so many others, B&B does a good job of making fun of soap operas rather than celebrating them. I want to know who paid off who to make this happen? OLTL, the show and it's cast, were ignored once again, and I think it's a crying shame. It is by far the best show on daytime, but they get no recognition. What's the point of doing the show if you are going to go out of your way to make is sooooo bad? And I still believe that the voting system should be changed. One person from every show should be nominated and every show should go up for the best soap....just to even out the playing field. Too much of the same old thing happens every year.

I used to looked forward to the Daytime Emmys ever year - it was my Oscars! And even though I don't watch soaps anymore, I still watch the Daytime Emmys. IMHO it was the worst Daytime Emmys in a really long time! First of all I think there were more commercials than awards show, and every commercial break started with Feed the Children (a charity several soap stars have adopted). Secondly, I think there was more glop in the show than actual awards. I realize the awards show was held in Vegas and someone felt they needed to capitalize on that, but it's about DAYTIME TV people! That means I want to see people from daytime tv, NOT Entertainment Has-Beens who's careers went to Las Vegas to die. Thirdly, was it any surprise that the awards show was on CBS, and all of the major soap awards went to CBS soaps? This award show seriously damaged the daytime television industry IMO and if the Daytime Emmys get canceled permenantly I'll know who to blame!
