Okay, it's bad enough they made Gus screw around on Harley but now - making Gus a bad cop? Why are they totally trashing him? That's not the Gus we all love! It's bad enough they killed him off. He will never be back so why tarnish his image.

I know they had to come up with someway to kill off Harley, but making it gus 's fault makes me mad. I guess they also have to destroy his rep as a way to get all the women who loved him to move on, but remember he was a real scondrel when he first came on and was after Danny Santos wife. I really liked the Santos family, maybe someone in that family could be responsible for Harley's murder and they could bring them back into the mix. What do you think?

I stopped watching for awhile so I didn't know that about Gus. I only know him as a good guy! So they are going to KILL Harley off? I didn't know that either!

I used to LOVE GL. All I can say now is this show SUCKS! I stoped watching it.

Do they really think that turning Gus into a bad cop will make us forgive them for killing him off...GL Writers/Producers, GET A GRIP! Your show is going down the toilet!

I have to agree. I DVR all my soaps and if I don't have time to watch them all, GL is the first one sacrificed. It just doesn't hold my interest anymore. Too many couples with no rooting value, storylines that make no sense and characters that have no history or connections with characters we care about. Maybe if they incorporated some more underused veterans, like Frank, Alexandra, more Buzz, Rick and Beth, for starters. I don't know what else could be done, now that Harley is leaving, but at least she is taking Rafe with her....

I've been watching GL for decades (back when the Bauer BBQ was at the Bauer's! and Nola/Quintan were the bomb). Jeez, the show is nearly unrecognizeable now. I don't necessarily mind the new format and I like alot of the out-door seens in NJ but sometimes that have scenes outside that don't make any sense! Why is everything outside now? Every conversation, every meeting? I remember when Harley first appeared on the show. I'm so sad that she's leaving but the writing of her character lately has made her nearly unrecognizable. The one bright spot is that she's taking Rafe with her though it doesn't make much sense. The actor playing Rafe is fine but the character is an angry whiny malcontent and was way before Gus died. I say good riddence to bad rubage!

Can they make the exit any more ridiculous? Why would Harley choose to go on the run with Rafe and leave her own kids? How stupid.....and on top of that.....being a cop and deciding that running will help the situation?!? Give me a break! One epidsode closer to turning off the TV!

I was going to say the same about Harley leaving her kids. But then this is not the first time Harley has dropped the ball on motherhood. It's just that the reason this time is soooo STUPID! Why did they give this character kids if she was going to live her life like she had none???The story line for Harley has turned me off to the point where I don

I realize that I am in the minority here, but I nver liked Gus. This is no reflection on Ricky Paull Goldin, who as an actor did so much for GL and its fans, but the character was never developed. Let's not forget (as mentioned on this post), Gus came on as a crooked FBI agent determined to bring down the Santos family no matter what (he even tried to frame Danny). Then we find out that Gus is not his real name, that he became an FBI agent under an alias because "Nick" had confessed to a murder when he was a child. (Seriously, this would NEVER happen. The FBI does not hire agents with records, sealed or not, and would not hire someone under an alias). Then he becomes a cop, but he's also a lawyer, and -oh by the way - he's also a Spaulding with an unmentioned family in Chicago. After all that was forgotten he became a pillar of the community, and now he may have been crooked again (or still? What's going on people?) When they put him on the force and partnered him with Harley (and then they fell in love), I kept thinking how much more I enjoyed that story when it was told with the original Mallet. No, I will not miss Gus at all and am so happy they did not recast this stupid role.

Absolutely, RPG did the best he could and my complaints are about the writing - not him. I never made it to a "Gus Bus" fan event, but always wanted to. I would welcome RPG back with open arms, I'm just glad it won't be as Gus.
