Is anyone really surprised by the reveal?? I loved today's episode!! And I am happy who the Balkan is!!! Hope they can keep up the interesting writing on this.
I was starting to get on board with hoping that Suzanne was The Balkan, but this is good too. At some point I will have to stop liking the guy and see him as a scary, ruthless crime boss, but, so far, I have just been amused by his quirkiness.
Jilly - I totally agree. I was on board with Suzanne as well. I'm just happy it's not Jerry! that would have been too obvious.
Quote:Since I am not going to watch...might as well tell me.....LOLMaybe it will lure me back if it is creative enough... Paul, I suggest you come on back for a minute. This is too cool! I am loving the Balkin and hope he wreaks havoc on Brenda and all those that think she is God's gift to Port Charles! I knew this guy was going to have a major role when he first wheeled up to the hospital and started raising holy hell. Loved the way he sided with Robin too. And then showing up at Alexis and Diane's law firm to work with them on Brenda's case.......awesome, awesome! GO BALKIN!!Come on back Paul before TPTB get dumb again
Sorry..the writers cannot be dumb again when they never left the dumb party. I just watched 2 weeks worth.....NOT worth the time!I think the angle is interesting, but they used a throw-away character! WHY should we even care that his son is dead? Why should we even care about his revenge on Brenda? Why should we care that Dante helped Brenda? At least with the Zacharra's, they built some story, showed some dysfunction, and showed some character. It would have been fantastic fun if the Balkan was Claudia~! Recast her with Tamara Braun! (wouldn't THAT have been funny) Have her have given birth to another Sonny child. THAT layer and connection would have made more sense than these strange people with bad accents running loose in PC!
From the very beginning of Friday's episode the writers may as well have pasted a sign on Theo saying "I am the Balkan". By the time of the reveal, everyone had to know.Paul's right about the "dumbnes". What was that stupidity of Theo walking into Diane's office and immediately being included in discussions of representing Brenda? What about client confidentiality? What about, we don't know this guy at all and we're going to tell him everything? Just plain dumb.
correct me if I'm wrong, but it seemed as if Diane knew him or was at least expecting him? If she didn't know him or wasn't expecting him, his walking in the office and immediately being included in discussions is no more surprising than the unethical happenings at GH.
According to the recap, he came in and said that the NY partners had sent him. I don't remember this from Friday's show, and I want to look at the episode again. In any event, it seemed odd. If he didn't actually work in the NY office, wouldn't someone have called to alert D & A?? With the case being so high profile, shouldn't they have checked him out before giving him all of the details? Seems strange, like a hole in the storyline that was being closed quickly.
I was trying to think of who the Balkan would have been and thought of Suzanne also. Theo seemed to obvious he just came on the show where Suzanne has been on for a while and would have been so good to go with her. Then Theo walks in and like you said is part of the communication about Brenda that is when I suspected that he was the Balkan. I also agree who cares who is son was not related to any in port charles right now
Very disappointed in Diane & Alexis for not checking with the NY office to make sure the guy even worked for their firm. I got the impression Diane never even heard of him & Alexis flat out said she never heard of him. Also, her jerk detector was blazing red & everyone ignored her. If ever anyone should know a jerk when they see one, it's Alexis! As for the Suzanne angle, there's still the possibility that she is the Balkan despite what Theo has said. A lawyer is a criminal's mouthpiece & he could simply have been doing the same thing he ordered Jerry to do- pretend to be the Balkan when dealing with the minions. Who's scarier? Creepy Theo or motherly Suzanne? Who would dumb Russian thugs be more afraid of? Or Jerry, for that matter? Theo & Suzanne could also be husband & wife. One comment to make re: Jax running around with his phallic symbol...uh...NO! I kept wondering if he was going to shoot himself in the foot with that thing. Maybe Spinelli can teach him. As I recall, when shooting himself in the foot didn't end his fascination with guns, Max was teaching him. One character I do not want to see waving guns around is Jax because he's full of cow flop. He'd point that thing at Jerry & either chicken out, dither too long & let Jerry shoot him or take the gun away from him. I mean there's always the chance Jerry'd pass out from laughing so hard.As low rent as Jerry's "assassin" was (up on a rooftop out of sight & has a perfect kill shot, yet shoots Jerry in the stomach? ), I did love the look of shock on Jerry's face & his comment, "Bloody hell?!" That was fun!

Since I am not going to watch...might as well tell me.....LOLMaybe it will lure me back if it is creative enough...
