Monday
Jackie was rescued after being attacked by the cougar that was part of
Whip's ad campaign. Seems everyone wants to mate with her, "from boy toys to
wild beasts," snarked Nick to his mother. Alone with Jackie, a still-shaken
Owen admitted that today, someone else's life had mattered more than his
own. "I thought I was going to lose you, and I wanted to tear that cougar
apart with my bare hands," he told his wife. "You are my life.... With you
by my side, I'm the luckiest man alive."
Dottie, an old friend of Stephanie's (who was a ringer for Morgan Fairchild)
showed up at Steph's office to ask a favor: the entertainment had dropped
out of a charity fundraiser, and Dottie had come up with the idea for a
fashion showdown between Jackie M and Forrester. Stephanie was reluctant to
be pitted against her ex-husband. Think of the money that would be raised
for charity, not to mention the publicity, urged Dottie, leaving a handful
of mock invitations for Stephanie to consider. Whip was intrigued, but
Stephanie decided to pass.
Katie stopped by Bill's office to discuss her brain child, the Logan women
campaign for Forrester. "Good luck sweetheart, I think you're going to need
it," Bill smirked. Katie wanted to buy ad space in Bill's magazine and TV
shows for the campaign. What's the catch? Bill asked. She wouldn't want
Forrester ads alongside positive press for Jackie M, said Katie. She doesn't
want special treatment, just objectivity, clarified Katie, who was certain
Bill would pull through for her. After Katie left, Whip showed up to see
Bill, armed with one of the mock invitations Dottie had left Stephanie. A
fashion challenge could break Forrester if Jackie M wins, mused Bill. Whip
agreed, and asked for Bill's help making the event happen. "Both of us would
like to see the demise of Forrester Creations," explained Whip, who admitted
that Stephanie didn't want to participate. But if Bill published the invite
as a done deal, it would force Stephanie and Eric to go through with it,
pointed out Whip. "This could sound Forrester's death knell," grinned Bill.
Tuesday
Stephanie introduced her friend Dorothy to Bridget and Nick. Steph didn't
want to engage in a fashion challenge between Jackie M and Forrester, but
Dottie replied that she'd already told the press about it. Meanwhile, Eric
was horrified when he went online and learned about the challenge. Brooke
believed that Stephanie was forcing them into doing it. Eric called Steph
and demanded an explanation; Steph insisted that she wasn't the one who went
to the press about it. Dottie then took the phone and pleaded with him to
let Forrester be in the event. Eric agreed to have them come to his office
so they could discuss it. Katie feared that they weren't ready for this, but
Brooke was confident that they'd win.
Whip and Bill couldn't understand why Steph was resisting. Bill noted that
she still had a soft spot for Eric. After, Bill asked Jarrett to make sure
that Jackie M wins.
Eric met with Bridget and asked her not to hold back when designing for
Jackie M for his benefit. Bridget freaked out at the idea of going up
against him. "I may just have to take advantage of that," warned Eric. This
got her fired up to win.... Brooke tried to flirt with Ridge at the office.
She compared the preparation for the challenge to a certain sport and was
pleased to be working with him.... Steph again insisted to Eric that she
didn't want to do the challenge, but Dottie pushed her into it. They wished
each other luck; Eric was sure that the judges would be fair.
Katie told Bill about the challenge and he feigned ignorance. She wondered
how the news of the fashion show had been leaked even before they'd agreed
to do it. Katie stated that they'd beat Jackie M, but Bill kept quiet.
Meanwhile, Whip and Steph discussed the challenge. Whip was confident that
they'd win; Steph replied that their PR fell on his shoulders.... Jarrett
made calls to the judges on Bill's behalf. Later, Jarrett realized that Bill
had feelings for Katie, and couldn't understand why he'd want to ruin her
company. "This is a bout business; it's nothing personal," Bill said.
Wednesday
Katie arrived at Bill's office to deliver an invitation to the fashion challenge between Forrester Creations and Jackie M but walked in on a romantic dinner setting. Katie assumed that Bill was entertaining someone else but he revealed that the setting was for her. As they dined together, Katie asked Bill to be fair and write an honest review about their newest collection. She also pointed out how important her Royalty p.r. campaign is to her. They clashed over letting emotions get in the way of business. When he said that he still wanted to take over Forrester Creations, Katie got upset. He admitted to caring about her and they almost kissed.
Brooke told Ridge and Donna that she was confident that their designs would trump Jackie M's. Ridge was sure that Bill or Whip would resort to sneaky tactics and worried about Forrester's future. Brooke assured that there's nothing Bill can do to mess things up. Ridge gave Brooke a grateful hug. Meanwhile Bridget stressed big time over her designs for the fashion duel.
In the Spencer jet, Jarrett schmoozed the celebrity judges: Sergei (party planner to the stars), talk show host Rich Ginger and Melissa Rivers with champagne and caviar. The trio was rightfully suspicious that Bill Spencer had a hidden agenda. Jarrett finally explained that his boss wanted Jackie M to be declared the winner and in exchange, Melissa would get her own column in Eye On Fashion, Rich would get Bill's yacht in St. Tropez for two weeks and Sergei could plan Bill's annual charity event in the Hamptons. The judges gave in and toasted to their deal. Jarrett called Bill with the news but warned his boss to rethink his plan so he won't hurt Katie.
Thursday
Backstage at the fashion challenge was a hub of frenzied activity for both
Forrester Creations and Jackie M. Dottie thanked both Eric and Stephanie for
participating in the event. Eric then gave his minions a pep talk, while
Bridget continue to stress about her designs for Jackie M.
As the judges took their seats, Jarrett reminded Bill that he could still
un-bribe the judges. Bill wasn't interested in backing out of his dirty deal
and Jarrett mentioned how much Katie would be hurt professionally if
Forrester Creations lost. Bill looked a little conflicted.
Brooke and her sisters introduced their new Royalty collection and the
models began to parade onto the runway. As the audience reacted very
positively, Jackie admitted to Nick and Bridget that the Forrester designs
were very good. Sergei started to applause enthusiastically, then stopped
when Bill threw him a snarky look. For the finale, trumpeters heralded
Brooke, Donna and Katie as they sashayed out in fabulous gowns. After,the
audience gave a standing ovation although the judges adopted solemn faces.
Jackie M readied for their debut and the gang was revved up. Jackie came out
and congratulated Forrester Creations on a job well done but announced it
was time for the audience to "Indulge." As the designs came out on the
runway, the Eric, Ridge and Brooke appeared very worried. A guilt-ridden
Jarrett slipped backstage and confessed to Katie that Bill had fixed the
competition. As Jarrett left, Bill showed up and Katie confronted him about
what she heard. Bill said it would never be his intention to hurt Katie but
he wouldn't answer her directly. Katie became annoyed by his dodging and
demanded, "Did you do it?"
Friday
Katie demanded Bill tell her if the fashion challenge judges were in his back pocket. "This is just business," he would only allow. Katie blasted him for choosing business over her and rushed out in tears. Her words seem to have an impact on Bill.
The Jackie M gang was buoyed by the applause from crowd and the judges. For their finale, a bare-chested Owen walked out on the runway with Jackie, dressed like a dominatrix, whipping at him. The audience went crazy.
After the fashion show, the Forrester Creations team and the Jackie M gang came out as Dottie took the stage and asked the judges for their decisions. Sergei voted for Jackie M and Melissa Rivers chose Forrester Creations. It was now up to Rich Ginger to break the tie and he announced that Forrester was the winner. Katie was shocked by the outcome.
Eric took the mic and after thanking everyone, praised his daughter Bridget for being a worthy competitor. Eric then called Katie up on the stage to take a bow for her Royalty campaign. Katie lauded Eric and cryptically thanked a "prince" for doing the noble thing.
Afterwards, Ridge thanked Brooke for "coming through for us" with a hug. Katie wanted to rush over to Bill but her sisters dragged her away so they could celebrate. Jarrett approached Bill, who insisted he wasn't going soft but didn't fire his loose-lipped employee. While changing backstage, Donna and Brooke asked their little sister the identity of her prince but Katie wouldn't say. Stephanie and Bridget happily congratulated Eric. Whip asked Bill why Jackie M didn't win and Spencer would only allow that a
special young lady had an influence on the outcome. Stephanie scoffed to a smug Donna that Eric's designs won the competition and not the Royalty campaign. Brooke urged Ridge to "come home with me" but Taylor interrupted. Ridge said he has come to a decision. Jarrett toasted to the Forresters and Eric voiced his suspicions about Bill. Jarrett announced that the "dark prince" has lost his heart to Katie. Bill met with Katie and he admitted that he changed his mind "because of you" and they finally shared a kiss.
