Bold and Beautiful Recaps
B&B Week of December 24, 2007
Monday
Eric did his best to persuade Stephanie to change her mind about "canceling" Christmas, but Stephanie remained undaunted. Later, while in church, Stephanie experienced an epiphany about herself and her purpose in life. Meanwhile, Eric summoned his children to the family home for Christmas, disobeying Stephanie's wishes. Brooke told Ridge, Hope and RJ that she won't be attending Christmas at the Forrester mansion but promised to meet up with them later. The Forrester family got busy and turned their home into a festive extravaganza. Stephanie arrived home and was shocked to find her family reunited — with Eric as well — and the house decorated for the holiday. Stephanie was unhappy at first, but her Grinch-like attitude softened when Brooke arrived and extended an olive branch to her. In the spirit of the holidays, Brooke offered forgiveness, which Stephanie accepted. Everyone gathered around the piano and rejoiced as Eric played "Joy to the World."
Tuesday
Merry Christmas! B&B was pre-empted today.
Wednesday
Donna questioned Eric about Christmas until he was forced to tease her about her insecurity. He insisted sharing "a magical day with the family," Steph included, didn't "change how I feel about you." When talked turned to her father, she insisted he was innocent. They still couldn't agree on that, but she was touched Eric "respected" her feelings nonetheless. Then she got a text message from Brooke, who was with Katie and Storm discussing their father's sacrifice in taking the fall for Storm. "The important thing is I now know that Dad loves me and that he's proud of what I've accomplished," Storm shared, and he wanted to measure up to that pride. "I pulled the trigger, which is why I'll do the time," he announced. When Brooke and Katie tried to stop him, he compared his actions with something "out of Stephanie's playbook" and Donna arrived just in time to hear him repeat what he'd done. Storm started to defend himself, but then took the blame, so Katie told Donna their father had sent Storm over the edge by blaming him for Brooke's attack. Storm admitted he'd felt propelled to frame Stephen and she started crying as he rehashed his plan to turn them against their father. When she attacked him verbally and physically, he didn't defend himself, but their sisters did. Then Brooke revealed Stephanie "may just be the key to saving this family." Her plan was to have Stephanie tell the police Stephen wasn't the shooter and convince them not look for another suspect, but her sibs balked at the idea of trusting Stephanie. "She said she would do anything to make amends," Brooke reminded, and wouldn't be stopped.
Ridge took over trash duty after he caught Stephanie doing it and they rehashed the surprise Christmas. "Everyone came here because they wanted to and because we all belong together," she said, but Ridge wanted her to be realistic about Eric and Donna's commitment to each other. Stephanie called Christmas a "turning point" and reminded Ridge that Eric always comes back after he strays. She was determined to get him back. Concerned, Ridge stopped in to warn his father. Eric revealed he was going to ask Steph for a divorce.
Thursday
Storm insisted to Brooke that he needs to accept responsibility for what happened to Stephanie. Brooke urged her siblings to let her broker a deal with Stephanie and insisted she, Donna and Katie owe Storm. On her way over to Stephanie's, Brooke flashed back to Stephanie's offer to do anything she could to help Brooke. After Brooke left, Donna and Katie argued over what course of action their family should take. Storm tried to referee and play peacemaker. Katie tearfully apologized to Storm for them not recognizing how much he was hurt by their father when they were growing up. Donna also apologized for "not being a better sister," after Storm explained and apologized for how a lifetime of anger and resentment got the best of him and made him finally "snap."
Bridget told Stephanie her exam was okay, but urged Stephanie to still take it easy. Stephanie insisted she no longer needs prescription pain meds and can get by on aspirin. Bridget and Ridge excused themselves to go back to work and urged Stephanie not to overdo it. Brooke arrived and she and Stephanie exchanged small talk to break the ice. Stephanie thanked Brooke for coming on Christmas. Stephanie reiterated her Christmas day offer to do whatever she could to make amends. Brooke said that's why she was there. Brooke asked Stephanie to "show leniency" where Stephen was concerned. Brooke went further and asked Stephanie to commit perjury by claiming she's having flashbacks to the night she was shot and to claim that she remembers that Stephen was not her shooter. Stephanie became puzzled when Brooke promised her that she knew for a fact that Stephen was not the one who actually shot her. Brooke pleaded for Stephanie's help so her father would be released and her family can heal together. "Please, Stephanie, for me...set my father free."
Friday
Brooke tried to get Stephanie to let Stephen off the hook. When Stephanie wouldn't relent Brooke accidentally blurted out that Storm was the shooter. Stephanie was taken aback. After reflecting for a moment, she realized that Storm had the opportunity and means to be the triggerman. Stephanie surmised that Storm must really hate his father to do what he did. Stephanie told Brooke they need to tell the authorities, but Brooke begged her not to. Brooke said she doesn't want to lose her brother. Stephanie suggested he's already (mentally) "lost." Brooke reminded Stephanie that she lost control once when she tried to kill Stephanie up at Big Bear. Brooke offered to wipe the slate clean between them if Stephanie will protect Stephen and Storm. Stephanie said no, but Brooke wouldn't take no for an answer. "You owe me this, Stephanie. You owe me this," Brooke demanded, wagging her finger.
Taylor thanked Nick for his patience. Nick said there's nothing to thank him for. The two got cozy after she put baby Jack to bed and they went to bed themselves. After making love, Nick asked her if he's hard to be married to. Taylor joked that SHE is the "problem child." Nick apologized for the Brooke situation and for not being more responsive and available to Taylor and her needs. Taylor conceded that she always puts on a brave front even when she's a wreck inside. Nick asked her if everything was okay between them, and Taylor reassured Nick that everything was just fine. Nick got dressed and left for a meeting. Taylor broke Nick's wine glass when she went to put it on the table. Picking up the piece she got some wine on her hand and smelled it....
Katie visited Stephen in jail and told him that Brooke was trying to broker a deal with Stephanie. Stephen got upset by the news and warned Katie about any of them trusting Stephanie. Still, Stephen thanked Katie for the news. Katie opened up and said how naturally suspicious she is, unlike Brooke and Donna, who always have faith. She apologized to Stephen for doubting him and not having faith in him. Stephen told Katie she has nothing to apologize for. A tearful Katie offered her father a "deal" — she'll stop feeling guilty if he will. Katie took responsibility for herself and vowed to stop blaming her upbringing and his abandonment for her problems. She said she wants to love him but doesn't know how. Katie tearfully embraced her father as they experienced a bittersweet rapprochement.
