Monday
A disbelieving Stephanie barreled past Donna in search of Eric. Donna continued her denials, but freaked out when Stephanie decided to look out the bathroom window. Donna was shocked when Stephanie didn't see Eric outside, then covered and admonished Stephanie for not taking her word for it. Stephanie called her bluff and told her a private detective tracked Eric to her place. She conceded that Eric stopped by, but only to give her a Valentine's gift. Donna insisted that both she and Eric are living up to her end of their agreement, and that it's up to Stephanie to get Eric to love her again. Stephanie was dumbfounded, but reiterated her threat to send Storm to the slammer if she and Eric are sharing a bed again. Meanwhile, outside, Eric was freezing his you-know-what's off as he stood naked on the ledge, covering his privates with his clothes and warding off errant pigeons. Stephanie's eagle-eyed detective spotted Eric, shot several pictures of him with a zoom lens, then uploaded them to a newspaper editor. The editor was pleased by the pics and stopped the presses to have them added to the next edition. Once Stephanie left, Donna frantically rescued Eric from the ledge. The duo celebrated outsmarting Steph by making passionate love.
Retiring for the evening, Ridge asked Brooke to share what's on her mind. Brooke said something was bothering her, but not anymore. She conceded she'd been worked about baby Jack and praised Ridge for his patience. Ridge said he was just fighting for their family and the life they all want together. Brooke said she hoped Ridge believed her when she said she wants the same things. The two made love. Afterwards, during pillow talk, Brooke covered her shock and worry when Ridge told her that Stephanie doesn't believe Donna and Eric and hired a private detective to track Eric's whereabouts.
Katie paid a surprise visit to Nick to talk to him about Brooke. Over dinner, Katie "suggested" that Nick steer clear of Brooke since she's happy with Ridge and since he's always ended up with nothing but heartache whenever he pursued something with her sister. Instead Katie lobbied for Nick to take a fresh look at Bridget as a possible love interest. Nick expressed his doubts at how feasible or workable such a reconciliation would be. Katie upped the ante by asking Nick a direct question: Is he really in love with Brooke? Nick hedged and kept a good poker face by responding that he'll keep that answer to himself. Katie thanked him for his time, urged him to think about what she said then excused herself.
Tuesday
By phone, Donna and Eric rehashed how lucky they were to escape being caught by Stephanie. When Stephanie entered the room, Eric "admitted" that he paid Donna a visit to give her a Valentine's Day gift but she slammed the door in his face. Eric conceded what a "fool" he had been with Donna. As Eric opened the morning paper he freaked out to see a picture of himself standing naked on Donna's ledge. He dropped his coffee and wiped it up with the paper to cover. When Stephanie went upstairs Ridge arrived with his own copy of the paper to ask what's going on. Eric asked Ridge for his help. Ridge flippantly suggested that Eric would have to send Stephanie to Tahiti to keep her from seeing the newspaper. Eric seized on the idea and scheduled a trip for him and Stephanie to Tahiti. Stephanie was surprised by it, but went along for the ride (no pun intended).
On the plane, Stephanie admitted she hired a private eye to follow him, and apologized for it. Stephanie said she understood Eric needed closure with Donna and was gratified that he's now willing to move on with their marriage. She thanked him for the trip and told him he was a true prince. Donna called Eric on his cell. Eric stepped into the forward cabin to take the call and told her about his plans to go to Tahiti with Stephanie until the newspaper stories die down. Meanwhile the flight attended gave Stephanie a drink — and the paper to read. Stephanie flipped the paper open to his photo and became enraged. When Eric returned she pulled the plug on his charade. "You betrayed me. There isn't anything you could possibly say to me to make it right," Stephanie declared. "In one night you have made us the laughing stock of this town." Eric didn't flinch at Stephanie's tirade. "I don't care anymore. I love Donna." Eric expressed his anger at Stephanie for being forced to hide his romance with Donna. "I'm so tired of living with this ax over my head. Our marriage is over, Stephanie. I'm in love with Donna. My future is with Donna, and you're just gonna have to accept it," Eric challenged.
Katie grilled Donna about why she blew off their family meeting and where she was. Donna stonewalled and raised Katie's suspicions. Donna continued to deflect Katie's questions. Donna freaked out when she opened her paper and saw Eric's photo. Katie grabbed the paper out of Donna's hands and was horrified. She admonished Donna and berated her for being so foolish and childish. When Storm arrived, Katie suggested that Storm go back to visit their dad in Europe ASAP. Donna backed up Katie. Storm decided to stay put in L.A., and asked Katie for an explanation. Katie said she'd prefer not to say anything, which seemed to only raise Storm's curiosity.
Wednesday
"Shame on you," Stephanie scolded Eric on the Forrester jet. "This is so pathetic." Stephanie admonished Eric for his machinations with Donna and the resulting scandal in the newspaper. Eric, in turn, assailed Stephanie for resorting to blackmail to try to get what she wants. "You cannot win somebody's love through blackmail," defended Eric, adding that Donna loves him in a way that Stephanie never did. Eric lamented having to walk away from their marriage and family, but insisted she left him no choice. Stephanie insisted that it wasn't blackmail, it was an "agreement" she had with the Logans. Eric said bottom line, Storm isn't going to jail. Stephanie vehemently disagreed, declaring that's the only bit of justice to come out of this whole fiasco. Stephanie said the photo in the newspaper proved what she's said their whole married life: he needs her to save him from himself. Eric insisted his relationship with Donna is not about sex. Stephanie retorted if you say something often enough you'll believe it. She admitted to being manipulative and controlling, but said she has tried to change and Eric doesn't want to hear or see it. He asked if the "new, compassionate" Stephanie was the one who set Brooke's rape into motion, or the one who wants to send Storm to jail. Stephanie deplaned and paid Donna a surprise visit to tell her that Storm is going to prison because she didn't keep her end of their bargain. Donna tried to cover about the newspaper photo but failed. Donna begged Stephanie not to send Storm to jail. "When you see your brother in jail, I'm sure he'll never forget that you're the one who put him there," Stephanie warned.
At Forrester, Ridge showed Brooke the morning paper. Brooke was horrified. In turn, Brooke dropped a bombshell of her own: Stephanie has been blackmailing Donna because Storm was Stephanie's shooter. Ridge was flabbergasted, and was annoyed that Brooke hadn't told him sooner that Storm had shot his mother. Brooke then explained the deal she struck with Stephanie. Katie entered and pleaded with Ridge to call Stephanie and keep her from sending Storm to prison. Ridge defended Stephanie and warned that Storm is a messed-up psycho who needs to go before a judge to pay for what he's done. Undaunted, Katie begged Ridge to plead Storm's case to Stephanie. Brooke also begged him, but Ridge apologized and said no — "Storm has got to go to jail!"
Thursday
Nick asked Taylor how she's doing. Taylor admitted leaving Nick was the hardest thing she's ever had to do in her life, but maintained it was the right thing to do. She pointed out that Nick convinced himself that committing to Taylor was the right thing to do, but it wasn't. Nick insisted that he's in love with Taylor and wanted their marriage and family. Taylor said she can't accept that if he has love in his heart for another woman, "especially if it's Brooke." Taylor put the blame squarely on her rival. Nick said it was Taylor's choice to leave, but she insisted Nick left her with no other choice. When Taylor learned that Brooke had recommitted to Ridge, she admonished Nick that this is what happens when you love two people at the same time — you wind up losing both. Taylor said the draw between Nick and Brooke was too powerful. Nick apologized. Taylor said it's time for her to move on a in a new direction, "and maybe finally find a man who isn't in love with Brooke."
Ridge asked Eric why he wasn't in Tahiti. Eric told him Stephanie saw the newspaper on the plane. Ridge said he knows about the deal to save Storm, and asked Eric how he could defend Storm. Eric insisted Storm wants to get better and is under intensive treatment. Eric asked for Ridge's help to convince Stephanie to back off. Ridge said sorry, but Storm is going to have to pay for what he did.
Storm met up with his sisters and asked them what was going on. He guessed correctly that Stephanie had a chance of heart about his freedom. Katie revealed the deal that Donna and Eric had made. Storm was happy to hear that Donna didn't give in to Stephanie's demands. He gave his blessing to Donna and Eric. "We're going to lose you, Stormy, and it's all my fault," Donna cried. The reality of Storm's impending incarceration began to sink in with him. "Oh, my God," he exclaimed in bewilderment.
Later, Donna begged Stephanie to show a bit of mercy and not send Storm to prison. Stephanie refused. Brooke and Katie arrived. Stephanie told them that Donna reneged on their deal to save Storm. Katie and Brooke pleaded Storm's case to Stephanie, but it fell on deaf ears. Stephanie vowed to send Storm to prison, "where he belongs." She phoned Lt. Baker and asked him to come to her house to discuss her shooting case. When she arrived home, she informed Ridge and Eric that Lt. Baker was on his way over so she could lower the boom on Storm.
Friday
Taylor told Nick she finally has inner peace. Nick lamented that they couldn't work things out between them. Each of them wished the other happiness. Taylor praised Nick for being a wonderful husband, but said she can't "share" him. Nick said he understood. Things took a sour turn when Taylor said she was going upstairs to get baby Jack. "You walked out on US," Nick said. "No, I walked on YOU," Taylor corrected, as she went upstairs to retrieve the baby.
Donna became upset when Storm suggested he turn himself in. Ridge attacked Storm when they crossed paths. Storm warned Ridge that Stephanie's power will be over soon enough and she'll have no more power over Eric or Donna. Privately, Donna and Eric sweetly reaffirmed their love and relationship. Eric vowed to mount the strongest possible defense for Storm. Donna said she was so grateful that Eric was willing to defend her family. Eric rejoiced that they're all finally free of Stephanie.
Stephanie admonished Eric for being an embarrassment to the family and causing a scandal for the company. Eric lambasted Stephanie for her hypocrisy. Katie arrived and demanded to speak Stephanie alone. Privately, Katie made an impassioned plea for her brother. She explained to Stephanie how their "less than perfect family upbringing" shaped Storm. Katie drew a parallel between Storm's actions and Stephanie's over the years, and asked Stephanie to find her compassion. "You have to try to find your heart," Katie cried. "I'm sorry, Katie," said Stephanie. When Lt. Baker and Charlie arrived, Stephanie told them the day she got shot was the scariest day of her life. Lt. Baker grew impatient and told Stephanie to just spit out what she knows about her shooting.
