Monday
Thorne, Donna, Ridge, and Stephanie were all hard at work at Forrester, doing fashion type things. Over at Jackie M, Jackie and Nick just happened to be working on the exact same dress. As Jackie 'fessed up to a suspicious Clarke, Donna told Rick about Jackie's surprise (read: desperate) new line. Jackie was insistent upon previewing her collection to the press tomorrow. Nick was wary about doing it when he still didn't know who their mystery
benefactor was. Thorne and Felicia griped about the Forrester line failing just so they'd have an excuse to kick out the Logans. Jackie called Stephanie for lunch at Il Giardino — and a fishing expedition. Meanwhile, Felicia chatted up Nick, who wondered if she was there to dance on Jackie M's grave. Felicia said no, she's looking for a job. "How about we turn back the clock and see if the sparks are still there?" she purred. "I've always had designs on you, Mr. Marone," she noted, kissing him. She left him with a lot to think about. Back at Forrester, Rick came to see Ridge. He once again apologized for what happened to Phoebe and asked if there was the slightest chance Ridge would be able to accept him. Ridge said only at work. Not in his family. Seeing Rick and Steffy together terrified him and Rick would have to get used to it "once and for all." As Stephanie vented about the troubles at Forrester, Jackie's Spidey senses tingled. Then, Nick ran into a bitter Thorne having a liquid lunch. Later, Nick and Jackie converged with
their findings and the mystery e-mailer contacted them again. What did he/she want? The presidency of their company in exchange for the full designs. "Please, Nicky, this is our only chance," begged Jackie. "Accept. Now." So he did. Wreathed in shadow, the e-mailer sent them Eric's whole collection and then deleted the original file. Nick felt like they'd made a deal with the devil.
Owen noted to Donna that their surf line wasn't doing so well and he wasn't sure Eric was going to keep him on. When Donna left on an errand, he stared at the dress design on her laptop screen. Bridget came in looking for her aunt, sorry for interrupting Owen and noticing he was distracted. He admitted he's feeling insecure about his status at Forrester, especially his lackluster designs in comparison to her dad's secret collection. But enough about him! Owen brought up the subject of Bridget dropping by his place,
wondering if she'd gotten the wrong idea about him. When she sputtered about the bikini incident, he leaned in and kissed her. Rocked by the connection, they kissed again.
Tuesday
All soaps are preempted today, January 20, for coverage of the Presidential Inauguration. Recaps will resume tomorrow.
Wednesday
Jackie and Nick were grateful for the mysterious designer slipping them the Forrester original designs. Nick was worried what Eric would say "when he see his designs on our runway." Nick greeted Katie with a big fat kiss. Katie told Nick she wants to be a part of the big show. Katie thought she should resign from Forrester "to help you out." Clarke came in with some designs. Nick made it clear he didn't want Katie there. Katie looked concerned but agreed to leave. "Good luck captain," she said as she exited the showroom. Nick breathed a sign of relief. "Everyone at Forrester will
know those designs are theirs," an exasperated Nick told Clarke and Jackie. "We will get through this together," Jackie assured her son. The champagne flowed before the fashion show began. A reporter asked Jackie if the company
was about to go under. Jackie denied that charge. "I have every confidence in our seasoned designer," she said. Jackie guaranteed that "these designs will have the quality and flair of Forrester originals." Nick continued to worry about what would happen after the fashion show. Jackie introduced the fashion show. "Jackie M is here to stay," she declared. Nick looked worried as the fashion show began. Katie slipped into the fashion show. "That dress looks familiar. That's a Forrester original," she said, stunned.
Felicia thought Eric's need for secrecy re: his designs was extreme. Felicia, who was also in a grumpy mood, thought Eric would make her happy if "you divorce Donna." Felicia refused to bring the dresses downstairs. Eric told Brooke she was the best of both worlds -- the Logans and Forresters. "I
just wish that my kids were happier," Eric said wistfully. Brooke confirmed that it was hard for Ridge to have Rick around. Eric thought that their relationship eventually would heal. Stephanie praised Eric's designs. Stephanie wondered why he was still so apprehensive. Stephanie told him that Thorne and Felicia feel overlooked by him at Forrester. Viewers saw the same dress in the fashion show that was in Eric's office.
Rick and Steffy kissed. Rick reported that Ridge had told him there was no way in hell their relationship would be repaired. "My dad's not willing to forgive you," Steffy confirmed. Steffy started to cry as she told Rick she didn't know if they should be together. "If something is worth fighting for
then there always has to be a way," Rick said as he kissed her. "I love you Rick," Steffy declared "but my dad means so much to me. I can't cause him any more pain." Rick understood but wondered how things might be if they didn't have to deal with Ridge anymore. Steffy looked puzzled.
Thursday
Katie couldn't believe she was seeing Forrester designs at the Jackie M. Fashion show. Katie confronted Jackie and Nick. "You stole them," she said. Katie was stunned when she realized that Jackie and Nick knew the designs were stolen. Nick tried to explain that he didn't know where the designs
came from. "I'd like the truth," Katie demanded. Nick said that he had gotten an anonymous email filled with the Forrester designs. "Someone at Forrester is trying to destroy the company," Katie said, horrified. "I did what I had to do," Nick tried to explain to his fiance. Katie accused Nick
of being a thief and Nick grew defensive. "It could tear Forrester creations apart," Katie said as she left Nick's office.
An excited Jackie gave the model the showstopper dress to put on. Meanwhile, Katie called Eric. "Our collection has been hi-jacked. They stole every one of them," she cried. Eric rushed over to the Jackie M. Fashion show and stood in the back, enraged as he watched his entire collection on the runway. Jackie and Clarke took their bows. Moments later, champagne flowed behind the scenes. One of the reporters gushed all over Jackie. Clarke referred to himself as a visionary. Nick watched as the gushing continued. Nick got an email from the person who sent him the Forrester designs and slipped away to meet him in his office. Nick turned around. "Oh my god, you," he said incredulously.
"You stole my designs," Eric barked. Jackie tried to calm him down and threatened to call a lawyer about slander. "How did you do this?" he asked. "All the patterns were under lock and key!" Jackie insisted those designs were "Clarke Garrison originals." Eric accused Jackie of stooping to Sally Spectra's level of stealing. Eric told Jackie he would have helped her if
she had just come to him.
Steffy assured Rick that she believes in him but... "I just want to have one normal day," she said. "Just you and me as a regular couple," she added. "But that can never happen and that's the hang-up," she sighed. Rick didn't think there was a problem in this world that "doesn't exist without a solution. I am a man who can make things happen."
Friday
Nick extended his hand to the saboteur of Forrester creations — Rick. Nick asked Rick why he did this. "In a word — Ridge. I've lived my life in this man's shadow. I can't take it anymore," Rick explained. Rick reminded Nick that he turned over the designs for a job: "I just want peace in my life." Nick said he'd hold up his side of the agreement. They agreed to keep this quiet and Rick left. Brooke entered Nick's office. "That was fast," he said. Brooke asked him to issue a statement to the press saying Jackie's designs were actually by Forrester. Nick wouldn't do that and explained that his family's livelihood was at stake. "Tell me who did this," she asked. Nick refused to tell her.
Steffy, Ridge and Brooke were enraged about the stolen designs. Eric stormed in. "We've got a big mess to clean up," he barked. "Somebody betrayed us." "Too many people had access to those designs," Stephanie added. Ridge reminded them that only a few trustworthy people had access. Thorne
reminded them that his computer system is iron clad. Katie entered and said she had nothing to do with the crime. She explained that Jackie and Nick had been sent designs from Forrester. "Where is Rick?" Ridge asked.
Taylor stared of a photo of her twin girls and sighed. "Something terrible happened and I feel really bad," Steffy sobbed over the telephone. Taylor asked for details. Steffy told her about the theft of the Forrester designs. Taylor felt awful for Ridge. Taylor sent her condolences to Ridge. "Who
would do something this cruel?" Steffy wondered. Rick called Steffy and asked to meet him upstairs. Rick started kissing Steffy. She made him stop and told him about the Jackie M. situation. Rick told her he knows who stole the designs but refused to tell her. "This person ruined our fashion show," Steffy said. Rick added he made it possible for their relationship to be made public. Rick explained that Nick offered him a job at Jackie M. "My first order of business is to hire you," he said. Steffy started to cry when
she realized that Rick had stolen the designs. "I did this for us," he said.
