Bold and Beautiful Recaps

B&B Week of July 7, 2008

Monday

Lovelorn Katie had an angsty montage as a giddy Bridget rushed in and told her Nick proposed. Elsewhere, Nick told Jackie he's marrying Bridget, "the one I've known the longest," out of the two women he lived with. He assured his mum that he loves Bridget. "What about Katie?" she countered. Katie admired Bridget's ring, pretending she wasn't choking on it. "You and Nick belong together," she said, though she clearly doesn't believe that anymore. When Bridget worried about Katie's feelings, she assured her niece that she's happy for her. Downstairs, Nick and Jackie were having a similar conversation. Jackie dubbed it a "recipe for heartache and disaster," and kept questioning her son about Katie. Upstairs, Katie told Bridget to set a date, cracking that she'd perform the ceremony if she could. Bridget asked her to be her maid of honor, citing the bond between her and Aunt Katie. They then came downstairs and told Jackie and Nick the good news. Bridget wanted a simple, lovely wedding. Jackie eyed Katie suspiciously. Naturally, Katie magnanimously offered to plan the wedding. "It'll be my gift to you," she simpered as Jackie watched her with mounting concern.

Out in the Forrester playground, Marcus found Steffy and asked her a work question. She teasingly hauled him towards the other building's "prop room,"
rather than trusting him to go on his own. Cue much adorable bantering and a superspeed montage of Steffy sneaking Marcus around the Forrester complex.
They tried on silly wigs and even passed a random garden gnome on their journey to the prop room. They even found some S.F. + R.C. graffiti in a stairwell from when Steffy was 10. Marcus teasingly wondered if Steffy was using him to rebel against Ridge, much like she'd used the 9-year-old R.C. Steffy leaned in to kiss him and then smacked him in the chest and he paid her back by pretending there was a spider on her shirt.

Tuesday

At the Forrester mansion, Brooke hollered for Donna to come downstairs so Bridget could make her announcement to her mom, aunt/stepmom, and dad: "Nick and I are getting married!" Cooing over her ring and congratulations ensued, but Donna looked a little wary. Also wary, Jackie praised Katie for all the wedding planning, "under the circumstances." Bridget reassured her parents, "It's gonna work this time." Donna then pulled Brooke to the terrace to discuss Katie's feelings for Nick. "She can handle this," Brooke assured. Yeah, but what about Nick's feelings? "He's committed to Bridget," dismissed Brooke. Jackie continued to hover over Katie, admitting Katie's emotional state was her concern. Eric plotted to design his baby girl a Forrester Original and throw a pool party for her engagement. Brooke was shocked to hear Katie is planning the wedding. An unconcerned Bridget thought it was "sweet," and assured her mom that she's not jealous or insecure about Katie's feelings. Donna went over to discuss that particular nugget in person. "You're in love with Nick!" she reminded. Katie said she was "so done" discussing it. Bridget praised her "lifetime commitment kind of love" with Nick. Brooke just wanted to see her happy. Donna suggested Katie needed to be the bride, and Katie got all defensive, insisting she wanted to see Nick with someone right for him and didn't want to hurt anyone. "It's not just right for Bridget, it's not just right for Nick, it's right for me, too," she declared. "Don't bring this up to me ever again."

Taylor and Rick awoke in bed after a round of passionate mattress tag. They talked about Nick and Bridget's engagement, and, no, Nick's ex-wife was not angry. They stayed half-naked and lazing around and Rick wondered, "Does it bother you that I can't get enough of you?" (Uh, no. LOL!) Taylor pointed out she has a lot of baggage and Rick assured her he loves her. Things got passionate again.

Wednesday

All of Bridget and Nick's loved ones were sporting bikinis and shorts at their engagement pool party, where Donna cited all their blessings...and spilled additional great news: It was Marcus' birthday! As Pam sneaked in unnoticed and Ridge and Thorne rolled their eyes, Donna welcomed him to the family. Eric then raised a toast to Bridget and Nick, wishing them a "lifetime of love and happiness." Ridge wished his stepdaughter/stepsister and Nick congratulations, too. Katie tried not to look like she'd sucked on a lemon. Owen stole through the palm fronds and looked at all the rich suckers. Off in a corner, Eric caught up with Beth, who praised her old boyfriend for making Donna so happy. Stephen scowled at the tête-à-tête. Then, he and Grandma Beth made Marcus' acquaintance. Across the pool, Aunt Pam hugged Bridget and then ended up trading snark with "hot tamale" Donna. Eric chided his former sis-in-law. Meanwhile, Brooke dragged Nick inside to ask him about Katie and he eased her fears. She thanked him for "putting such a big smile" on Bridget's face and hugged him, with no apparent Brick sparks remaining. When Rick tossed a Frisbee at Donna, it landed in Owen's hiding place, so she dragged him out to join the party and made introductions. Marcus, a newly arrived Felicia, and Pam all looked mighty suspicious. Felicia told Eric about Stephanie's depression and ended up giggling through her tears when Donna revealed Pam had just played a prank: she'd replaced the cocktail shrimp order with miniature hot tamales! (LOL!) Brooke then grabbed the floor to wish Bridget and Nick happiness and laud her daughter's ability to forgive. Moved Bridget talked about how she's older and wiser and has learned "true love doesn't limit us, it only opens up our heart." Nick and Jack had made her the happiest woman in the world. Aw! Nick promised to make sure their future was smooth sailing, with Bridget as his compass. "I am a very lucky man," he sighed, as his various paramours looked on. Naturally, the party couldn't end without Katie saying something all glowing about them (and pretending she wasn't bummed).

Felicia visited Stephanie at the beach house and found her mother still in bed in the middle of the day. In the dark. "You don't look so well," Felicia accused, peppering her with questions and wondering if she had depression.
Stephanie assured her she's fine and just needed time to adapt to her new life. Steph loved her for caring, but this just wasn't necessary. The duo hugged before Felicia went off to the engagement party. Unfortunately, Stephanie went back to moping in her dim room and staring at a photo of her and Eric.

Thursday

All viewers saw were tight jeans and a shirt being tossed on the couch.
Then, a bourbon swilling, cigar-smoking Nick appeared, enjoying his last night of bachelorhood. If you guessed Katie showed up, you'd be right. Nick put out the cigar and the heart patient told him she was moving out. Elsewhere, Bridget was practically aglow to Brooke about her wedding. The duo had a heart-to-heart about Nick and Brooke swore she wouldn't interfere and would "never make that mistake again." At Nick's, he said Katie could stick around a while longer, until she was "good as new," but she wasn't sure that could happen. Bridget didn't want to rehash history, but she talked about how Nick had to get Brooke out of his system to be with her again. "You two are going to have such a wonderful future," Brooke trilled, before mentioning that nobody was happier for Bridget than Katie. Elsewhere, Katie cuddled Jack and freaked Nick out with her fatalistic attitude. She packed, and Nick reminded her not to forget her toy basketball hoop. They decided to play some one-on-one for money. Cue a silly montage of Nerf basketball and some near-kiss closeness.

At the Forrester manse, Felicia urged Eric to do something about Stephanie's depression and went off about Eric leaving Mom for a "floozy" like Donna.
Eric chided her for using such "epithets," and she insisted Donna would cheat on him. "You're selling her short," snapped Eric, saying he'd go check on Steph. He told Felicia not to go out in public with "that long face," hugged her, and sent her on her way. Then, his bikini-clad wife appeared, ready for a "private party with my Honey Bear." Too bad Eric was off to see Stephanie. Steph was alone in the dark (still!) at the beach house, looking terribly emotional. Meanwhile, bummed Donna ran into Owen out by the pool...terribly NAKED. His clothes were AWOL after a shower in the poolhouse. Owen clutched a towel and gave a compassionate bare shoulder to Donna. He flirted, too! Donna thanked him for finding Marcus and he spun a whole thing about wanting to help people. Donna offered to pay him what Marcus owed and he said it could wait. Naturally, Felicia spied the conversation. As Owen got dressed, she made his acquaintance. She told him to find her at Forrester in the morning before walking away with a sway to her hips.

Friday

Angsty Katie eyed her fading transplant scar in the mirror and stared at Bridget's wedding dress. Bridget rushed into the decked-out house from a secret errand and Katie put on a happy face. In the garden, Stephen reassured Beth that no one would expect her to speak and it was Bridget's day. They had new grandson Marcus come join them. Brooke and Ridge appeared for the wedding and made nice with Nick. Of course, Brooke warned Nick about how Bridget was important to Katie. Brooke then gifted Bridget with great-grandma's pearls for her special day. Back in the garden, Donna and Jackie discussed Nick loving Katie. "It's too late now," hissed Jackie. Beth, Brooke, Donna and Marcus all shared a cute family moment. Not so cute? Taylor arriving with Rick. Obligatory tension flared between her and Brooke. Back inside, Nick's best man, Stephen, praised his compassion.
Nick gave the Logan women credit for it. Rick wished his baby sister well on her wedding day and they shared exuberant hugs. Then, Bridget told Katie she had a surprise for her and Nick. Hmmm...

Brooke assured Nick she had no mother of the bride jitters and helped him with his tie. She didn't have doubts about his commitment to Bridget (or lingering feelings for him!). Bridget said that Katie's shiny fuchsia dress made her look "hot!" and then sprung the surprise on her: the justice of the peace was coming for Katie, not her. Huh? Don't worry, it was a fake out. Bridget wanted Katie deputized to marry her and Nick! Katie was floored (and disappointed). Naturally, she nobly agreed. In the garden, the wedding began. Eric walked Bridget up the aisle as Nick beamed. But where was the JoP? Bridget informed Nick that Katie would marry them. Everybody in the crowd murmured...even baby Jack! Nervous Katie bade everybody sit and started babbling and reading from prepared text. If you guessed she choked and said, "I can't do this!" you'd be right. "This is wrong," she murmured as the crowd shifted in their seats. Bridget looked heartbroken, while Nick looked stricken.
