Monday
Ridge demanded Brooke tell Rick he and Steffy are unacceptable, but she couldn't stand in the way of the relationship any longer. Meanwhile, Thomas and Taylor visited Phoebe's grave, and Thomas wondered how Ridge could continue to deal with Rick. Back at Brooke's, it was clear: not very well! He flipped out, telling the kids to go so he could talk to Brooke alone. Furious and and frustrated, he told Brooke he loves her but he couldn't tolerate this. "I'm done!" he declared, walking out and then speeding away
in his car. He showed up at Phoebe's grave, where Taylor was, and ranted about the latest round with Brooke. "I've left Brooke!" he said, before walking over to Phoebe's headstone and fearing they'd lose Steffy the same way. Taylor comforted him and offered him an anti-anxiety pill to "take the edge off." Then, she drove him up to Big Bear, saying she'd take care of him. Up at the cabin, Ridge was trying to relax but couldn't get his mind off Steffy. Taylor asked him to let her help him heal. Brooke tried calling her wayward hubby and since Ridge had his back turned, Taylor turned off the vibrating phone. "I'm here for you always," she promised Ridge.
Eric asked Stephanie to come back to Forrester, saying she was missed there. "You miss me like a toothache," she cracked, reminding him he'd fired her. He offered to rectify the mistake, saying she created half the company and belonged there. "You made your choice: you picked your young trophy wife, and it has consequences," she pointed out. She couldn't come back and work side by side by Donna and she named off all the reasons why. When Donna interrupted, Stephanie walked out, leaving them together.
Tuesday
Taylor continued to soothe Ridge, even rubbing his shoulders, as he vented about losing his daughters. "You're exhausted," she sighed, assuring she'll get him through this just like they've gotten through everything else. He confessed he feels like Brooke betrayed him and thanked Taylor for bringing him to Big Bear. Back in LA, worried Brooke left Ridge a voicemail and Rick tried to reassure her. Concerned that Stephanie would get to Ridge about their invalid marriage, she bolted out to find her man. Steffy and Rick fretted what would happen if that occurred. Steffy called Taylor, who told her that Ridge was safe with her and then lectured her about Rick. "Please, Steffy, this is killing your dad," she said. Meanwhile, Ridge came back from stowing
the car in the garage and helped himself to more pills from Taylor's purse. He was already feeling much better and Taylor was encouraged. Ridge philosophized once again about Brooke siding with Rick. "There's a part of me that's actually relieved our marriage isn't legal," he admitted. Back
home, Rick told Steffy they weren't giving up. They'd make believers out of their parents. Back in Big Bear, Ridge told Taylor he trusted her and praised how she's there for him. "I can always depend on you," he sighed. "I just want to feel some peace and calm in my life." He took her hand and kissed it, before leaning in to kiss her lips.
In Eric's office, Stephanie told Pam about Eric's offer to come back to Forrester and the sisters cracked jokes at the Logan family's expense. Steph noted that Brooke's comeuppance was coming, and hoped Taylor would get
through to Ridge. Taylor called Stephanie to update her and Stephanie was buoyed by the news that he and Brooke had a blowout. She was practically giddy when Brooke slammed into Eric's office looking for Ridge and the two foes traded
barbs. Stephanie revealed she'd blabbed to Taylor about the invalid marriage and told an incredulous Brooke, "I think you were on probation and you failed." Brooke defended her relationship with Ridge. That's when Ridge called Stephanie to tell her he was at Big Bear — and that he didn't want to talk to Brooke right now. When Stephanie passed that on, with a dose of "Just let him be!" Brooke was stunned.
Wednesday
Ridge and Taylor pulled back from their kiss while, back in LA, Rick assured Steffy that Brooke and Ridge would work things out. As they kissed, lovingly, Thomas burst in and shoved them apart. Thomas was not happy to hear of their reunion but Steffy made her position clear and begged Thomas to get on board. In Big Bear, Taylor stopped Ridge from smooching her again, wanting him to be sure. He said being there with her had made all the difference to him. "There you were, like an angel," he sighed, praising her
support, waxing about the ups and downs of their past. When he noted Brooke hadn't tried to contact him, Taylor admitted Brooke tried but she turned off the phone. Ridge thought about calling Brooke but flashed back on Phoebe's death and put the phone down. He just couldn't understand how Brooke could support Rick. As the pills kicked in, Ridge got woozy and he wasn't exactly receptive when Brooke called him. He told Taylor that Brooke wouldn't forbid Rick and Steffy and bemoaned that Brooke would never understand. "It's not working," he said of Brooke, going back to appreciating Taylor and the fresh air at Big Bear. He didn't want to go back to LA, to all that angst and trauma. "I'm moving out," he decided.
Brooke came home to her waiting sisters, admitting she and Ridge had a fight — and that she and Ridge aren't married. She put a lot of blame on Stephanie being a big cheerleader, saying she couldn't keep fighting this battle. Her sisters urged her to give it a shot, so she called Ridge. When she said she couldn't stop Rick and Steffy, he hung up on her. Donna and Katie urged her to give Ridge some time. She appreciated the "Logan Girls" love and support, blinking back tears and assuring them she and Ridge would survive this.
Thursday
Bright and early in the morning, Ridge came home to Brooke and pulled her
into a hug. He told her a night at Big Bear had been what he needed — and
told her Taylor had been with him. He reiterated that Rick's arrogance had
killed Phoebe and he couldn't get past that. At Il Giardino, Taylor raved to
Stephanie about the Big Bear trip. "He's leaving Brooke!" she revealed,
talking about how Ridge had found peace and realized he doesn't have to have
Brooke in his life. Back at Brooke's, Ridge noted Brooke chose Rick and then
talked about how Taylor had given him the peace he sought. "I realized
things can't go on this way," he told her. They went a few rounds about Rick
again but Brooke couldn't change that Rick is her son. "That's why I'm
moving out," said Ridge. Meanwhile, Stephanie urged Taylor to take advantage
of Ridge's situation but Taylor said she didn't have to. It was all
going her way naturally! "I know he's coming back to me," she declared.
Ridge explained his reasoning for leaving, even in the face of Brooke saying
she'd help him through his issues. He loved her, but, "I'm dying with you,
because of Rick." He'd felt alive again in Big Bear, and because of how tied
up in Rick Brooke is, Ridge had to get away from her. Brooke asked him to
look at things logically and reminded him of their love. "Don't take your
anger and walk out that door," she pleaded. "I'm not going to let you go.
We're going to stay together."
A blue bathrobe-clad Nick woke up Bridget, who wanted him to come back to
bed. The flirty hijinks were interrupted by Bridget's ringing phone. It was
Owen, asking her to talk to Nick and get him to back off. Bridget said she'd
work on Nick. Nick's schedule was clear this morning, right? Owen knew a
meeting with accountants was scheduled, but lied and said Nick was free.
Later, Jackie and Owen did a little canoodling and then Jackie ran off to
that meeting. Back home, Bridget wooed Nick with a teddy and some
strawberries. Cue the sax music and the rolling around in slow motion!
Back at Jackie M, Owen filled in for Nick with Jackie and the accountants.
After Bridget got Nick all nice and relaxed, she asked Nick to cut Owen some
slack but Nick wouldn't budge! Back at the office, Jackie told her
accountants that her estate planning would stay the same: all her worldly
goods would go to Nick. She then eyed Owen with a gleam in her eye.
Friday
Brooke passionately declared that Ridge isn't leaving her and their marriage
is forever. Ridge dubbed their problems "insurmountable," but Brooke kept
working on him. Just when it seemed she'd made progress, Rick left a message
on the answering machine about swinging by for dinner with Steffy! "This
just isn't going to work," sighed Ridge, in the face of her denials. "Please
don't tell me this is the end," Brooke begged as they embraced, emotionally.
Ridge kissed her tenderly, whispered, "Goodbye, Logan," and walked out.
Separately, they both broke down. Rick came over to Brooke's, where she told
him what had transpired and he tried to comfort her. Brooke appreciated
that, but noted there was Taylor to consider. Meanwhile, Stephanie found
Ridge all emo and alone in the Forrester guest house. She wasted no time
calling Taylor to come over and deliver some TLC. Taylor, being less overt,
went to Ridge, offering to leave him alone and "occupy" his mother. When she
left the room for a second, he reached for her pills. Stephanie walked in as
he put the bottle away and then Taylor came in with tea. Perturbed, Steph
tucked the bottle in her pocket and left them alone. Ridge, all loopy and
high, told Taylor she was beautiful and stroked her face.
Nick interrupted Jackie and Owen necking at Jackie M, shocked to hear he'd
missed a morning meeting — and unhappy to hear Owen had been privy to the
company's finances. Jackie said he was overreacting and Nick said she was
nave. Furious Owen noted Nick wanted him fired but it was Jackie's call. If
Jackie wanted him out, he'd go. Sadly, when push came to shove, a torn
Jackie had to side with her son. She fired Owen! He understood, but feared
that losing his job would lead to losing Jackie, too. He wanted more.
"You're getting bored with me," she surmised. No! He wanted a life with her:
"I'm talking about marriage." Down on one knee, he asked her, "Will you
marry me, Jackie?" "Oh, what the hell, I'll marry you!" Jackie gasped, as
they kissed playfully and embraced.
