Bold and Beautiful Recaps

B&B Week of June 9, 2008

Monday

Nick and Bridget remained determined to find Katie help — and give her a big surprise. Upstairs in her room, Stephanie kept her company and urged her to fight to live. Back downstairs, Nick told Bridget, Donna and Brooke about his and Katie's trip to Catalina Island. "She wants to die in peace," he said, adding that she didn't want to go back to a hospital. He made the gals promise to "let her die with dignity." Katie told Steph she was trying to be realistic and wondered what Steph would do. Steph talked about the love of her family, noting everybody (herself included) loves Katie, too. Back downstairs, Nick told Brooke, Donna and Bridget that he was giving Katie a perfect prom night. (Because that's just what EVERY grown woman who's dying
wants...) Jackie soon arrived with a Forrester Original. As she and Katie's sisters rushed off to supervise the decorators, Bridget praised Nick for making Katie happy. "She's in your hands tonight," she sighed. In her room, Katie said goodbye to Steph in case she croaks overnight and added, "For the record, I love you, too." Stephanie came downstairs and remarked on Nick's compassion. "You have feelings for her, don't you?" she accused, wondering "how many women in the rest of the family do you plan on sleeping with?" As Nick cracked up, Stephanie reminded him that Bridget is "completely in love with him." Upstairs, Katie signed her living will and then her fairy godmothers gave her an extreme makeover that made her look like she's not remotely dying. Despite Katie looking so fab and walking unaided, Bridget told her family that Katie had little time left. "I'm never going to forget this night," said Katie. When she got downstairs, it was to find the living room gorgeously decked out like a cheesy prom, complete with disco ball and her waiting date: Nick. "I didn't go to my senior prom either," he said before pinning on a corsage. Moved Katie almost said she loved him, editing to say she loves what he's done for her. The dying debutante then danced the night away.

At Forrester, Ashley, Phoebe, Thorne and Felicia all talked about Katie's health and Jackie mentioned a surprise dress that would make her feel like a princess. Felicia, who saw the dress, said it was fabulous and Phoebe wondered what Nick has planned. (Wouldn't it be nice if they threw some of this compassion Donna's way?)

Tuesday

Considering that she's a heart patient, Katie and Nick cut quite a rug at her fake prom. They took the requisite cheesy prom pictures and had punch and Katie remembered how popular Brooke and Donna had been in high school. She told Nick a prom horror story that was basically a cross between Never Been Kissed, Carrie and She's All That. It had taught her how "cruel people can be." Nick, who apparently hasn't seen many chick flicks, was very sympathetic. She thanked him for giving her a new memory and he gave her the last dance she'd been denied all those years ago. "I'm here for you," he told her, as things got very emotional. When she suggested they end the evening, he swept her up into his arms and carried her upstairs: "What kind of prom date would I be if I didn't see you home?" He laid her in bed, where she asked for more pain pills. "You're the most beautiful person I've ever known," she told him. But don't worry, the night wasn't over. He wasn't going anywhere...except in for a passionate kiss.

Frantic Bridget checked on Katie's tests again, not understanding why Katie was rejecting the heart. Steph and Brooke joined her in hoping Katie was having a good time. Stephanie mentioned Katie's feelings for Nick and Bridget said the feelings were exactly why she was going along with the prom: so Katie could be happy. Brooke told Bridget not to take on so much responsibility, noting it couldn't have been easy for her to share the man she loves. Brooke praised her giving Katie "one precious, memorable night." "It's probably going to be her last," whispered Bridget, as they hugged.

Wednesday

Nick and Katie pulled back from their smooch and Katie giggled, "I can die a happy woman now." He helped her get into Lakers pajamas, and she remarked that she'd be staying in them forever. (Morbid!) Elsewhere, Bridget was still hunched over her computer, researching away. She insisted to Brooke that she had to find the answer. Then, eureka! "This is it," she declared, calling Dr. Patrick. When he arrived, Bridget explained a potentially miraculous change to Katie's protocol. Brooke reminded her that Katie refused going to the hospital, so they could give Katie the IV at home. Upstairs, Katie's breathing grew labored and she got all chilly. Nick kept talking to her and holding her hand until she passed out. Assuming she'd kicked the bucket, he stared at the prom decorations and flashed back all angstily. As Brooke and Bridget rushed back with the magic protocol, they caught Nick crying like a little girl. "It's too late," he snapped. Bridget rushed upstairs with the stethoscope and declared that Katie's pulse was there but very weak. Nick tried to keep Bridget and Brooke from administering the IV. "Can you swear to me that this will work?" he demanded. Bridget wanted to at least try. Now, "we just wait and pray," she said.

Working late at Forrester, Steffy hugged Ridge and tearfully praised him for making a dress for Katie. He grimly related that it was probably "a matter of time" before Katie croaked. Steffy hugged him again for being so generous despite his Donna hate. Meanwhile, down in shipping and receiving, Donna caught up with Marcus and told him about Katie dying. Ridge then got a call about Donna giving "suggestions" to the Marketing department and kvetched to Steffy. But then he magnanimously decided not to "rag on her tonight." Talk turned to Stef's new job and she grinned about Marcus — which piqued Ridge's interest. Marcus sang Katie's praises just from meeting her briefly (of course!) and offered Donna his empathy. Ridge questioned Steffy about the hottie who had set her heart aflutter and she let slip that his hiring had been Donna's idea. Downstairs, Donna wanted to take care of Marcus, not the other way around...and to still keep their secret just a bit longer. Too
bad Steffy spied them holding hands through the window.

Thursday

Brooke, Nick and Bridget were all disillusioned when it seemed like Bridget's miracle cure wouldn't work. Donna revealed that Stephen's flight had been canceled due to bad weather. The Logans all got angsty and Nick held a devastated Bridget. Donna got the obligatory goodbye time with Katie first, talking about Marcus and letting the mascara run. Then, Brooke arrived, remembering their parents bringing Katie home from the hospital. "Storm is waiting for you, little sis," sighed Brooke. Then, it was Bridget's turn for the bedside monologue. After hers, was Nick's. "Thank you, Katie Logan," he said, kissing her hand. Meanwhile, Bridget got lab results e-mailed to her that said, "There's been improvement. There's definitely been improvement." Sure enough, Katie's eyelids fluttered and she began to awaken. As she saw Nick all backlit, she murmured, "Am I in Heaven?"

Ridge called the family — plus Ashley and minus Eric — in for a meeting about Forrester and its status. Forrester's sales figures had experienced "quite a dropoff," noted Ashley. Felicia and Thorne, naturally, blamed Donna marrying their father. Focus groups of their buyers confirmed their theory. Uh-oh. Felicia noted that there were conflicting "design philosophies" at work and they had to do something fast. "Donna does not belong in this company." Naturally, Marcus interrupted the meeting with a package for Eric. Thorne made the introductions and Felicia remembered Marcus from his turn as a waiter at Storm's funeral (ouch!). When they realized Donna hired the young man, everyone's Spidey senses went haywire. Ridge was more determined than ever to oust Donna and vote Stephanie back in, and the rest of the family — plus Ashley but minus Eric — was behind him.

Friday

Katie awoke, shocked to realize she wasn't dead. Bridget did a quick exam, noting Katie's fever had broken. Cue massive relief from the Logan ladies and Nick. Bridget explained the cool gene therapy science of how she'd stopped Katie's rejection, adding that Katie would still have to take her anti-rejection drugs and whatnot. Nearby, Brooke asked Nick about Katie's prom, but he was mighty cagey about it. She praised him for helping Katie put things to rest, clearly not realizing that her ex and her sis had played tonsil hockey. Later, Bridget noted that her professionalism could be called into question, but Nick thought she'd been "incredible" through this ordeal.
"I finally get what makes you tick," he said. "You would've done the exact same thing for some stranger...and I love you for that." He hugged her close. Aw! They talked about how much they'd done for Katie and the "feelings" involved. Bridget assured him that she was secure in his love and the only threat to them was she herself. Of course, as he held her, he looked at Katie with guilt.

Steffy did very business-like things, and reunited with Stephanie. Steph had brought lunch! Little Steph noted that the business had "turned out to be more interesting than I thought." (Meaning Marcus...) Downstairs, Marcus did very work-like things as Pam snooped. Steffy and Stephanie caught up on things like Taylor having Jack and Eric and Steph's divorce. Stephanie said she wasn't taking part in her kids' mutiny against Eric and Donna and advised her namesake to do the same. "This isn't Switzerland," noted Steffy, wryly. Meanwhile, Donna rushed over to tell Marcus that Katie would be fine, determined to tell everyone Marcus is her son. He actually advised against it, telling her how he'd eavesdropped on her stepbrats. "They want you gone, Donna," he warned. Brooke showed up at Forrester, hugged her sorta stepdaughter, and told both her and Stephanie that, "Katie's gonna pull through." Elsewhere, Donna reluctantly agreed to stay mum. Naturally, Steffy walked in on her and Marcus having a moment. Alone, Marcus called Steffy out on being a Forrester. "So I'm connected...so are you!" shrugged Stef, pointing out Marcus had Donna. Marcus underplayed the connection. Pam then enlisted Steffy in ferreting out Marcus' secrets. Back upstairs, Stephanie noted how fragile Brooke looked. "You don't always have to be the strong one," she told her rival, HUGGING HER. (Yes, we at Weekly are just as shocked as you.)
