B&B Week of March 16, 2009
Monday
Taylor and Ridge held Steffy hostage at the cabin. Taylor inspected the sweater that Pam had made Thomas and wondered if Pam had really tried to hurt Rick. Thomas entered the living room. Taylor wanted to talk to her son.
Thomas didn't think aunt Pam could have done it. Thomas grew agitated when he talked about his feelings toward Rick. Taylor admitted that being back at the cabin reminded her of all the things that had happened to their family "not all of them good," she said. Taylor added that some of her
choices in men had upset Thomas. Thomas wondered what Rick felt "when he was fooling around with the girl whose sister he killed.” Taylor dropped the coffee pot when Thomas admitted he had done those things. "It was me," he told his
visibly upset mother. Thomas rattled off all the reasons he hated Rick. "I couldn't stand having him around," Thomas said as he grew more agitated. Taylor apologized. Thomas explained that he felt Rick had taken advantage of "Phoebe and then my own mother....How could this happen? I wanted to stop him," Thomas sobbed. "I just wanted to scare him," he added as he began to apologize. "I really screwed up," he said.
Steffy called Rick and quickly told him that she missed him. She explained that her family was worried for her safety. She begged him to be careful. "I'm invincible," he joked. He asked her not to let her family brainwash her. She told him she loved him and hung up the phone. Ridge had a tense conversation with Steffy. She wondered why Thomas had hit Rick. Ridge told his daughter that she was safe "being with your parents and your brother."
Rick called Brooke who was very glad to hear from him. She told him it was wrong that he had burst into Rick's house. Ridge explained he was worried about losing another daughter. He added that Brooke should be worried about
Rick. Rick came home and was comforted by Brooke. Rick thought Pam was guilty. Brooke begged her son to reconsider his relationship with Steffy. Rick reminded his mother that he and Steffy would be together forever. Rick was upset that Ridge and Taylor were still inferring with his relationship
with Steffy. Brooke wondered if there was still "a maniac out there wanting you to be dead."
Donna surprised Pam at the jail. "There's justice in this world after all," Donna gloated. Pam accused Donna of framing her "to get revenge. You did those things to Rick." Donna couldn't believe what she was hearing. "It was you Donna, you and that kid of yours," Pam added. Donna was very defensive of her son. "The police has made their arrest and it's going to stick," Donna vowed. Donna passed Stephanie who was on her way to visit her sister. Pam fell into Stephanie's arms. Pam begged Stephanie to get her out of
there. "I shouldn't be here," she said.
Stephanie insisted to Marcus that Pam was innocent. Stephanie, who was convinced that Marcus had set up Pam, begged him to confess. Marcus denied having anything to do with the attacks on Rick.
Tuesday
Thomas didn't believe his mother when she assured him things would be all right. Thomas explained that he never wanted to hurt Rick, he just wanted him to back off. "To make him afraid of something he couldn't see," Thomas said. Thomas was resentful that he was no longer the man of the house when Rick had become involved with Taylor. Thomas had seen the lighter fluid moments after catching Rick and Steffy in bed. "I was careful," Thomas insisted. "I only wanted to scare him," he explained. Thomas added that he
hadn't thought that aunt Pam would be involved. Thomas knew he had to confess but didn't want to go to jail. "You'll never look at me the same way," Thomas told his mother. Ridge walked in with Steffy. "What happened?" Ridge asked. Thomas wiped his tears. The family ate dinner and they talked about happier times, which included memories of Phoebe. Ridge noticed that it was getting easier to talk about Phoebe "without things getting quite so raw." Steffy said she wanted to go back to LA, "back to my life." Ridge said
she wasn't going anywhere until they "got that guy in custody." Taylor asked for a moment alone with Ridge; the kids went outside. Taylor thanked Ridge for such a lovely evening. Taylor didn't think there would be any more happy
nights however. Taylor thought it was time to go back home. Taylor said she knew who tried to set the fire and who put the explosives in Rick's car. "And now it's time for you to know," she added.
Steffy asked Ridge why he was punishing her for Phoebe's death. Ridge said he had only brought her to the cabin to keep her safe. "Help me not lose you," Ridge begged his daughter. "What happened to me being an adult?" Steffy asked her father. He insisted that her being with Rick was not safe. Steffy pointed out that Ridge would always think of her as just one of his daughters. "Maybe that means I should be living a bigger life, not a smaller one," she added. Ridge suggested they fill the time doing things they'd do if Phoebe was still there and gave her a big hug.
Rick thought Ridge was pulling away from Brooke. Brooke thought that was ridiculous. He hinted that Ridge was distancing himself from her. Brooke didn't listen to her son's insinuations. Stephanie arrived and asked about the police car outside. Brooke asked Stephanie where Ridge was, but she
refused to tell. Rick kept saying that he was no longer a target because Pam was behind bars. Stephanie didn't think that Pam was responsible and added that she thought Brooke and her children were all still in danger. Brooke insisted that she felt safe now that the police was there. Stephanie suggested Brooke pack up the children. Brooke headed to the kitchen. Rick pointed out that Ridge being with Taylor gave Taylor a chance to "walk down memory lane" with Ridge. Rick was annoyed to see Stephanie still here. Brooke asked if the police had any information that Pam was the wrong person. Stephanie pointed out to Brooke that "your children are keeping you and Ridge apart." Brooke pondered that remark.
Wednesday
Taylor told Ridge that Pam wasn't to blame for all of Rick's attacks. But before she revealed the name of the attacker, she explained that Thomas had always protected his sisters and that Thomas thought of Ridge as a role model. "You are not saying it's Thomas?" Ridge asked, clearly flabbergasted. Taylor put the pieces together for him. "He told me," Taylor confirmed as she tried to explain that Thomas only wanted to scare Rick, not hurt or kill him. Thomas re-entered the living room. "I'm ashamed Dad," he confessed. He grew more agitated. "Rick disgusts me," he said loudly. "I still think he belongs in hell. Maybe I do too," Thomas added. Ridge pulled his son into a big bear hug. Ridge told his son he understands his feelings toward Rick. Ridge made it clear that he wasn't ashamed of Thomas. Thomas was sad that he never "found the right way to protect us."
Still at the cabin, Steffy called Rick, who was eager to come and get her. Steffy said that wasn't possible but she was glad the police were keeping an eye on Rick. The two exchanged "I love yous." Steffy hung up. Thomas made it clear that he doesn't like Rick. Steffy told Thomas to chill. Taylor came
out and told her daughter that no one wanted to kill Rick. "Then why are we here?" she asked her mother. Taylor told Steffy that Thomas was behind the attacks. Steffy didn't believe her mother; she was convinced her brother was covering for someone. Thomas tried to explain his actions, but Steffy wouldn't listen. Thomas told his sister that she was sick to care for Rick. "You have no right," Steffy countered. "He had to be stopped from hurting our family," Thomas continued as he forbade her from every seeing Rick again.
Brooke informed Stephanie that she and Ridge would discuss the safety of their children when Ridge came home. Stephanie reminded Brooke that Ridge was now with Taylor. Brooke told her mother-in-law that her fantasy about
Ridge and Taylor was just that — a fantasy. Brooke pointed out that nothing had happened since Pam was arrested. Stephanie thought nothing had happened because of the police protection out there.
