Monday
At the hospital, Stephanie's family gathered around her before she was taken into emergency surgery. Everyone listened as Stephanie attempted to name her shooter. All she could utter, however, was "Logan." That left Thorne, Ridge and Felicia to speculate on which Logan Stephanie was referring to. Meanwhile Eric insisted on staying at Stephanie's side during her surgery. As the surgeon removed the bullet, Eric wondered aloud who could have shot her. Felicia and Thorne kept vigil in the hospital waiting room, and rejoiced at the news that Stephanie made it through surgery. In recovery, Eric spoke to Stephanie when she regained consciousness, and reassured her that she'd be able to tell her children she loved them herself by tomorrow. For now, Eric urged Stephanie to rest and promised that they would speak when she has more energy. "Close your eyes. I'm not going anywhere," Eric reassured, kissing her on the forehead as Donna watched through the window of the door.
At Forrester, Charlie was checking for gun residue on everyone's hands, while Lt. Baker was asking everyone the last time they saw Stephanie. Stephen became annoyed as Lt. Baker kept questioning his family, and angrily told off the officer. Privately, Storm insulted Stephen by suggesting that he come clean now to improve their chances of a plea bargain. Stephen bristled at Storm's suggestion. Meanwhile, Brooke discovered the gun Stephanie gave her was missing. Everyone freaked out when they realized the gun was probably the one used in the shooting. Brooke went around the room and one by one, all of her relatives denied committing the crime . Ridge arrived and demanded to know which of them shot his mother. He explained that Stephanie said it was a "Logan" who shot her. Brooke became upset when Ridge pointed the finger at each of her relatives, and she ordered everyone out to speak to Ridge alone. "Not one more word," Brooke declared to Ridge, and denied that she nor any of her relatives shot Stephanie. But Ridge remained skeptical, so Brooke asked Ridge which one of her family he suspected. Ridge suggested Donna as Brooke's frustration level grew.
Back at the hospital, Eric asked Stephanie "which Logan" shot her. "Donna," Stephanie murmured.
Tuesday
Eric was horrified when Stephanie confirmed her comment to him that Donna was her shooter. He stepped out of Stephanie's hospital room and confronted Donna with the accusation. A shocked Donna denied it and expressed indignation when Eric pressed her for details on what happened. "You're asking me if I had an alibi?" Donna angrily questioned, as she recalled the sequence of events that led to her discovery of Stephanie. Donna recalled that Stephanie opened her eyes after she rolled her over, and surmised that's why Stephanie incorrectly believed Donna was responsible. "You have to believe me," Donna pleaded. Eric suggested she go home, while he stayed at the hospital to keep vigil over Stephanie. He tried to reconcile the conflicting info in his mind as he waited for Stephanie to wake up again. When she woke up, Eric asked her to clarify if she actually saw Donna pull a gun and shoot her, but Stephanie fell asleep again. After he left, an unknown figure entered Stephanie's hospital room. "You just had to steal my spotlight," the figure seethed — it was Donna. "Tell me, Stephanie, are you happy now?" a bitter Donna whispered to her. Stephanie woke up and recognized Donna. She told Steph she did not shoot her, and insisted that Stephanie was mistaken. Stephanie called for her nurse, but Donna took her call button away from her. "I'm going to be the next Mrs. Eric Forrester, and there is nothing you can do about it," Donna hissed, accusing Stephanie of perhaps going so far as to having herself shot to win back Eric. Stephanie denied doing so. Donna said if Steph didn't do it and Donna didn't do it then that means her shooter is still out there, so Stephanie "better be careful...."
Brooke and Ridge argued over Stephanie's shooting. Ridge insisted per Stephanie's comment that a Logan must be guilty. Brooke asked Ridge if he's asking her to choose between him and her family. He said no, but he was asking her to keep an open mind. Ridge asked Brooke if she still wants to marry him. She reaffirmed their commitment but suggested it might be best to postpone their wedding a bit until things settle down. Eric called Ridge on his cell and reported that he spoke to Stephanie briefly. Ridge told Brooke they'd speak to Stephanie themselves the next morning and get answers. Brooke reflected on the night's events and pondered who could have shot Stephanie.
Eric returned home and caught the smell of pot roast in the air. To his surprise, Pam appeared with a home-cooked dinner in hand. Pam explained that Eric needed a home-cooked meal after the day he had. After Eric politely explained he wasn't really hungry, Pam insisted he take a bite. Eric did and then sat down to eat. She told Eric she was aware of Eric and Stephanie's separation, and told him it's not an issue with her. Pam told Eric she's happy to take care of him and the house while Stephanie is in the hospital. Eric reluctantly accepted her offer, but cautioned that he has someone in his life now and if she wants to stay she needs to respect his personal life. Pam downplayed all of that and sent Eric upstairs for a bath. As Pam began to sort the laundry she spotted Donna's thong and became quite perturbed.
Wednesday
At the hospital, Pam entered Stephanie's room and introduced herself, but Stephanie was sleeping. Pam whipped out Stephanie's favorite childhood bedroom pillow that she brought back from Chicago. "I will personally see to it that you get exactly what you deserve," uttered Pam as she stood over Stephanie's bedside clutching the pillow. Pam unloaded her resentment about how she was stuck taking care of their mother while Stephanie led a grand and luxurious lifestyle. As Pam continued her rant she grabbed the pillow with a tighter and tighter grip.
After examining baby Jack, Bridget had good news for Nick: Jack has a clean bill of health after the transplant. Nick said Taylor will be ecstatic when she finds out. Brooke entered and Nick told her about the transplant's success. Nick gave Brooke the papers Brooke had given to Taylor, establishing and confirming Taylor as Jack's mother. Nick explained that Taylor decided to sign them after all. Brooke said she knew Taylor and Nick would be great parents. Brooke bristled when she heard that Taylor wouldn't be breastfeeding Jack. "I think Taylor is doing something that could jeopardize YOUR child," Brooke stated. Bridget tried to tell Brooke that medically it's okay for Jack to be on formula. Brooke persisted until she annoyed both Nick and Bridget. When Bridget excused herself Nick told Brooke to drop it and spare Taylor any undue stress. Brooke made a Freudian slip when she referred to Jack as "their" child. Nick reminded her that Jack is his and Taylor's child. Brooke insisted that he can't deny that on some level Jack is still her child. Bridget admonished Brooke for her comments then left to return to the hospital. Brooke informed Nick that Stephanie accused "a Logan" of shooting her, and expressed her worry for her family as a result.
Eric and Donna argued over why Stephanie would have accused her of the shooting. Donna pleaded with Eric to believe in her innocence. Eric apologized and told Donna he did believe her. "I know in my heart that you could never do such a thing," he said as they hugged and made up. Donna said she was going to let him be alone to rest for the night. She bristled when Eric told her that Pam was at the house to look after him while Stephanie is in the hospital. Donna suggested that Pam is probably in love with Eric and wants Stephanie out of the picture. Eric insisted Pam is sweet. While he and Donna kissed, Pam spied on them through the cracked door and seethed with jealousy.
Pam went downstairs to await her "introduction" to Donna. The two women traded barbs immediately. Pam handed Donna her chewed-up thong and explained that her dog Tiny didn't care for it. When Donna tried to assert herself Pam whistled for Tiny, who was a ferocious Doberman pincher. Pam warned Donna that Tiny was very protective of her. Tiny snarled and barked at Donna, visibly frightening her. "You have no idea who you're messing with, tootsie. You stay away from Eric," Pam warned, before sicking Tiny on Donna. The dog chased Donna out of the house and into the courtyard, while Pam glared at her with a psychotic gaze from the doorstep.
Thursday
Brooke marveled at a picture of baby Jack. Bridget walked in and asked Brooke why she had the photo, and more importantly, why she was looking at it "that way." Brooke bristled when Bridget called Brooke on her preoccupation with baby Jack, and expressed her worries about Taylor as a mom. Bridget admonished her to not be so invested in Taylor and Nick's lives. Brooke remained undaunted and persisted in her suspicions of Taylor. Bridget accused Brooke of trying to compete with Taylor. "It is not YOUR child," Bridget told Brooke, warning her that she'll risk her future with Ridge if she persists like this. As Bridget and Brooke continued to argue over baby Jack, Ridge walked in. Bridget excused herself and Ridge accused Brooke of treating baby Jack as her own. Ridge said he felt compelled to draw a line in the sand where baby Jack was concerned, "for the sake of our own family." Brooke tried to allay his concerns, but not to Ridge's satisfaction. He told Brooke he's not going to "share" her with Nick or any of Nick's offspring. Ridge warned Brooke that baby Jack has the capacity to destroy everything between them if she lets it happen. Brooke promised Ridge to never look at baby Jack as her child again. "I don't want to let anything destroy what we have," pledged Brooke, as she pulled Ridge into a kiss and reaffirmed her commitment to him.
At the police station, Charlie and Lt. Baker reviewed the list of possible suspects in Stephanie's shooting. Charlie was amused to learn from his dad that Eric and Donna are involved. Lt. Baker got a call that Stephanie is awake, so he and Charlie headed to the hospital to question her.
Eric held a meeting with his kids and told Thorne, Felicia and Ridge that Stephanie named Donna as her shooter. All three objected when Eric insisted he wasn't going to tell the police because he believed in Donna's innocence and assumed that Stephanie wasn't coherent enough to really know what happened. Donna entered and declared her innocence to all. She suggested they look elsewhere for a suspect — like Jackie...or Pam. Cue Pam's entrance, with dessert in hand. Pam politely put Donna in her place and then excused herself. Thorne and Felicia defended their aunt and became enraged when Donna accused Pam of being a nutcase and of possibly being the one who shot Stephanie. After Donna left Thorne and Felicia urged Eric to leave Donna and return to Stephanie. When Donna returned she asked Eric if he still loves her. Eric reassured her that nothing has changed between them, but conceded that he has to help Stephanie through this difficult time. Donna told him she understood. Eric suggested that Stephen might be responsible, but Donna became upset at Eric's idea. Eric just warned her just "to be prepared."
Friday
Ridge grimaced when he saw Brooke ogling her photo of baby Jack. Brooke claimed she was trying to figure out what to do with it. Ridge offered to help her return it. Brooke reluctantly surrendered the photo to him, and thanked Ridge for offering to help her. Then the pair debated Donna's innocence. Ridge called for a time out and suggested that the two of them find a way to deal with their differences of opinion about their families without it affecting their relationship. Brooke agreed, and the two became amorous. After making love, Brooke resolved during pillow talk to never pull away or say no to him if they ever get into a heated disagreement. "Never is a very long time," Ridge whispered before kissing her again.
Felicia, Thorne, Eric and Pam doted on Stephanie in her hospital room. Lt. Baker and Charlie arrived to take Stephanie's statement. "I think you should arrest Donna Logan," Stephanie said. Charlie and Lt. Baker tried to get "just the facts" from Stephanie, while Thorne and Felicia persisted in painting Donna in a guilty light and Eric persisted in defending her innocence. Stephanie revealed to a shocked crowd that she had given Brooke a gun and suspected that Donna used that gun to shoot her. Pam got the good news from the nurse that Stephanie could be discharged. Eric suggested that Stephanie come home to recuperate, and urged Pam and everyone to rally around her. Eric proclaimed that this is a time not only for Stephanie to heal, but for their whole family to heal. Donna told her family that Stephanie accused her of the shooting. Donna panicked, fearing Stephanie will find a way to frame her. Storm tried to reassure her. Katie blurted out that Stephen should just go away, pronto, and insinuated that he was the one responsible for Stephanie's shooting. Katie pointed out that Stephen refused to submit to the gun powder residue test. Stephen said nobody was going anywhere until the case was sorted out, and suggested that they brace themselves for Stephanie's "plan B" if she can't pin this charge on Donna. He expressed his gratitude to Storm for taking such good care of his sisters. Storm declared they must stop treating each other as suspects and stick together. Lt. Baker and Charlie arrived to question Donna. Storm insisted he be present in the official capacity of Donna's lawyer. Lt. Baker then said they'd like to look around. Storm said not without a warrant, but Stephen said go ahead, they have nothing to hide. Lt. Baker happened upon the suit Stephen wore the night of the shooting, fresh from the dry cleaners. Lt. Baker's insinuations angered Stephen, who ordered them to stop their search. At that moment Charlie appeared from the bedroom with what looked like the gun Stephanie gave to Brooke. Stephen insisted he hadn't seen it in his place before and declared someone must have planted it there. As Storm directed his father not to say another word, Lt. Baker informed Stephen he'd have to go downtown with them as they awaited testing on the gun.
