Bold and Beautiful Recaps

B&B Week of September 14, 2009

Monday

Owen reeled from the news of Jackie's sordid past and Jackie asked for his forgiveness and understanding. "I had a little boy...I did what I did for him," she said. Owen tried to process it all, noting "This changes everything." She'd dropped a huge bomb on him and he didn't know what to think. "Never forget that I love you," she whispered. Needing time, he fled. Elsewhere, romantic Steffy and cynic Thomas dissected Jackie and Owen's relationship. Later, Jackie angsted in her office and Nick came in with tissues and support while Owen ended up at the coffeehouse confiding in
Steffy. "Am I a fool?" he bemoaned. Steffy assured him he's a kind, caring man and praised his morals. Owen wondered if he was the only person in the world who believes in the sanctity of marriage (except for Donna and Eric's, apparently) and Steffy said she was like that, too. Owen looked at her with new eyes. Back at the office, Nick assured Jackie that Owen would come around. "I don't want to lose him," she whimpered.

Bill met up with his friend and executive vice president Justin for
pre-dinner cocktails. Justin asked Bill about the new lady in his life and Bill praised Katie. Elsewhere, Donna admitted to Katie she's warming up to the Bill/Katie idea. Katie hoped Eric and Bill could bury the hatchet, so she invited Donna and Eric to join them for dinner. Donna thought that was ludicrous but agreed to give it a shot. Back at Café Russe, Bill told Justin Katie can be good for him "in more ways than one." Justin reminded him Forrester was "ripe for a takeover." Katie then arrived and made Justin's acquaintance, telling the tight-lipped men that she and her sis were planning a Bill/Eric truce. Katie then hugged Donna in greeting, who admitted that Eric couldn't make it. Donna turned and locked eyes with Justin, and their mutual recognition was obvious! When Katie remarked on it, Justin revealed they'd gone to high school together. It was highly awkward and Justin excused himself before dinner. After Justin left, Donna looked positively wrecked!

Tuesday

Donna diligently Googled (except not on Google) Justin, catching up on his life. Marcus chose that moment to pop in and scare ten years off her life. She obscured her laptop screen as Marcus praised Eric as his father figure. Later, Marcus caught up with Eric in the Sky Lounge. Eric appreciated Marcus' contribution to the company and Donna's life. Back in Eric's office, Katie questioned Donna about her odd behavior and the topic turned to Justin. Donna immediately teared up, telling Katie that Justin is Marcus' father! She explained their high school romance and how she hadn't wanted to hold Justin back with her pregnancy. Would Donna tell Justin about Marcus now? She didn't know! Back at the Lounge, Marcus talked about how he respected Eric's talent and his heart. Eric admitted he thinks of Marcus as family and showed him paperwork to make it official: "I want you to be my son." Overwhelmed, Marcus mulled over the prospect. "You're the only father I need," he then concluded, calling Eric "Dad" and hugging him. Donna and Katie debated the Justin issue. Marcus walked in and Donna was clearly torn. Katie was shocked when Eric told her he was adopting Marcus. Her sis, meanwhile, told Marcus it was time for him to meet his father!

Jackie got off the phone with Nick as Owen arrived, looking grim. Jackie apologized again for all their various issues and wondered if the man she loves "so desperately" no longer loved her. He assured her that wasn't the case; just that he wasn't "there yet" in the understanding department. Jackie was encouraged by the fact that he'd at least shown up and also when he used the "l-word." However, despite that love, Owen still had issues with how the classy woman he'd adored had fallen from her pedestal. "I so cherish you," she assured, hoping that maybe one day he'd see her that way again. She asked him to forgive her one more time and he said he did. They hugged.

Wednesday

Marcus wondered why it had taken so long for Donna to bring up his biological father and she explained the mitigating factors. Up on the Sky Lounge, Eric told Katie he wanted to make Marcus an official Forrester. Marcus understood why Donna had given him up and added that he knew what Donna was trying to say: that Eric wants to adopt him! Donna was flummoxed, bringing up his bio dad again. Marcus wasn't interested, telling her, "Let's not open that door." He said he had everything he wants with her and Eric
and they hugged, joyfully. Eric walked in and joined in on the family moment. Donna beamed, but there was clearly some torment in her eyes as well. Marcus assured Donna and Eric that his adoptive parents wouldn't object to the adoption, and told "Dad" Eric that he'd make him proud. Later, Justin dropped by the office to see Donna. They did the awkward reminiscing thing, noting how they'd kept vague tabs on each other over the years. Moving on to their breakup, Donna assured Justin, "I adored you!" and he marveled at how she'd up and left the country so unexpectedly. "I was hurt," he admitted, before wondering if there was "something" that he should've known about her.

Elsewhere, Bill and Justin discussed business but the topic quickly strayed to Donna and Katie. Justin suggested Bill hire Katie away from Forrester lest the takeover become awkward. Bill then asked if Donna was as hot in high school. He assured Justin that romancing Katie hadn't changed his plans for Forrester. On cue, the lady arrived. Piqued, Katie began questioning Justin about his shift from basketball to business, and his past with her sister. "Everybody loved Donna," sighed Justin. "She was very special." Later, alone, Bill and Katie made out and Katie tried to pitch a Bill/Eric truce. She also went on a fishing expedition about Justin. Bill told her he's "honorable and trustworthy," and talked about how an injury had ended Justin's athletic career. Then, he changed the topic to having an"unforgettable" evening with Katie.

Thursday

Justin questioned Donna about her sudden disappearing act in high school and she tried to cover, apologizing for the pain she'd caused him. He thanked her for that, shrugging, "We were kids. What did we know?" Then, he asked about her life now. She talked about Eric and her mom's Alzheimer's. Justin envied her close family connections but noted his life had turned out for the best. Donna fished for personal info and Justin revealed he's divorced and childless. As for her, Donna noted Eric already has two families...and then Marcus walked in! Donna tried to introduce Marcus all casual-like, without giving away he's her son. She looked on like a deer in headlights as Justin and Junior shook hands and made small talk. Then, she hurried Marcus out the door and made her goodbyes to Justin. "There's a part of you that'll always be with me," he murmured. Their gazes locked before he left. Alone at Spencer Publications, Justin did a little research on Forrester. Meanwhile, Katie made distracted Donna jump out of her skin and she admitted Justin had been by -- and met Marcus! "It was actually beautiful...and frightening," she admitted, talking about how wonderful Justin still is. She was terribly confused about what to do, noting that Marcus seemed disinterested in meeting his biological father. Donna hoped Justin would go back to NY and this would be a moot point. However, Justin kept researching...and stumbled upon the news that Marcus was Donna's son, whom she'd given up for adoption as a teen. He reeled, murmuring, "Could it be? Is Marcus my son?"

Stephanie dropped by to visit Eric, who told her that he was adopting Marcus. Katie walked up on Marcus playing basketball at the Sky Lounge, and they shot a few hoops. Bursting with glee, Marcus told "Auntie Katie" that he'd found his father. Katie was taken aback, but it quickly became clear he meant Eric. Back inside, Stephanie boggled at the idea of adopting a grown man: "Have you really thought this through?" Eric assured her he has. Stephanie noted he might face opposition from their kids. She warned him that they might not be one big happy family. "Please don't cause any problems," said Eric, noting how much he wants Marcus to be a Forrester. After he left, Stephanie got a little woozy and disoriented and lost feeling in her extremities.

Friday

Donna didn't know if she should tell Justin that Marcus is his son. "I can't complicate things," she said to Katie.

Justin looked at his computer screen and wondered if Marcus could be his son.

Ridge entered Eric's office. Eric told Ridge that he was adopting Marcus. Ridge was stunned. Ridge wondered if Donna had been pressuring him. "Why now?" Ridge asked. Eric said Marcus deserves to be part of the family. "We should be proud to embrace him as one of our own. I hope you agree," Eric said. Marcus walked in. "I don't want to cause any trouble. But I already feel that this man is my father," Marcus said to a disbelieving Ridge. Ridge said he wasn't against the adoption. Eric thanked Ridge.

Katie showed up at Bill's door. Bill had a table set in his room. The two shared the desert. Kate wondered what was going on behind Bill's eyes. He insisted he was just interested in what was in front of them. The two started to kiss. "I've been waiting for this moment," he said as he began to undress her. The two made love and then talked about the first time they met. "I'm not afraid of you hurting me," Katie claimed.

Marcus looked at a photo of the Forresters and said "my family." Justin walked into the office. He was looking for Donna but when he realized he would have a moment alone with Marcus decided he didn't want to bother her. Justin hinted that he might be relocating. Donna walked in. "What's going on?" she asked nervously. Justin said he wanted to get to know Marcus. "Why didn't you tell me he was your son?" Justin asked Donna pointedly. The two men talked basketball. Donna became very nervous. They agreed to play basketball sometime. Marcus left to meet with Ridge. "You must be very proud of your son," Justin said to Donna. Donna confessed that she hadn't had much to do with Marcus' upbringing. Donna admitted that Marcus had made her so happy. "I see that. That's how I feel," Justin replied. Justin asked Donna how it felt to meet Marcus after all these years. The two talked about parenting. Justin said he now thinks he knows why Donna cut things off when they were teens. "Is Marcus our son?" Justin asked. "Donna tell me the truth."
