Bold and Beautiful Recaps

B&B Week of September 29, 2008

Monday

Katie and Nick awoke all cuddly after making love. (Sadly, Nick still hadn't shaved, so Katie had better beware of beard burn.) Nick asked Katie to move in with him and Jack. Later at Brooke's, Katie was on Cloud Nine as she gushed to Beth. Beth warned her that she shouldn't assume Brooke would be thrilled for her, because of Bridget. Weren't Katie and Nick rushing this? Beth very smartly played the voice of reason. Too bad Katie was in no mood to listen. She was so ecstatic about her happiness, she was certain everything was going her way.

Ridge and Brooke awoke all cuddly after making love. Brooke was basking in the afterglow of Ridge allowing Jack to live with them. This earned Ridge another go in the sack. Afterwards, they discussed getting the paperwork in order. Ridge gingerly said they could go by Nick's to discuss it. They briefly discussed the Nick/Katie relationship and then went over. Cue Ridge and Nick scowling at each other. Nick wanted to make sure Ridge would be okay with Nick and Brooke co-parenting, and Ridge wanted to make sure Nick could deal with him being the stepdad. Ridge also wanted to make sure that Nick wouldn't pull rank and someday take Jack away from Brooke. As they headed for the door, Nick was left with a lot to chew on. He stopped them and agreed to draw up papers for shared custody. Brooke hugged him as Ridge looked on. "I am doing this for you and for Jack," said Nick. As they hugged again, Ridge looked on.

Tuesday

Ridge flashed back on Nick and Brooke making googly eyes as they talked about Jack's custody. "This is a huge mistake," he murmured, rattled. Upstairs at Nick's, Brooke cuddled a happy, giddy Jack and Nick told her he'd spoken to his lawyer about drawing up the papers. Cue major adorableness with the baby and many uses of the words "our son." When Katie found Ridge at Casa Marone, he informed her they were all going to be one, big happy family. As Jack gnawed on things cutely, Brooke remarked upon how this had almost happened with RJ and they all reveled in their new bond. Nick feared Ridge would get "worked up in a tizzy." And what about Katie? Downstairs, Ridge and Katie were pondering that very question. "Remember, he loved Bridget, too," noted Ridge. "In the end, that didn't matter." He warned Katie about Nick wanting Brooke in his life "for years to come." Katie translated this all to them being "watchdogs" to make sure Nick/Brooke didn't rip each other's clothes off and she insisted she'd trust Nick, thank you. Oh? Just like Bridget had trusted Nick not to bed Katie? (Burn! Ridge totally owned!) He asked Katie to be on alert for "weird vibes." Katie reminded him that he's the love of Brooke's life and told "Destiny Man" that they were solid. Upstairs, Brooke, Nick, and Jack had a very intense family moment.

Stephanie met with Owen at the outdoor café, wanting to know why Donna kept insisting nothing had happened between her and Owen. He wasted no time telling her that they never sealed the deal! He praised Donna to high heaven, saying all the smooching was on him and she was no cheater.
Stephanie, mighty sarcastic, didn't buy it and urged him to take the opportunity to love and guide Donna since her marriage to Eric was over. Donna spied the meeting and stormed over. She demanded the 411. Bitter, heartbroken Owen didn't like her thinking he'd betrayed her. He reiterated how in love with Donna he is. He begged her for another chance. "It is so hard being without you," he murmured, all intense and tan in the sunlight. Too bad Donna was committed to getting Eric back.

Wednesday

Katie flashed back on all of Ridge's warnings about Nick and Brooke's connection. Nick caught her talking to herself and she brought up Brooke and him being "bonded for life." She also marveled at Taylor giving Jack up. Nick assured her they'd all be "one big, weird family."

At Chez Forrester, Eric's doctor gave him a glowing review and Felicia urged him to take it easy. Eric was determined to go spend some time at the office
— and to call Donna without Thorne and Felicia lurking. Donna answered the call and hightailed it out of Brooke's to meet him. Thorne and Felicia tattled to Stephanie, who rather graciously let Donna in. (The kids were like, "WTH, Mom?!") Upstairs, Donna and Eric admitted they'd been thinking about each other and then began hashing out what happened while he was comatose. He showed her a photo of her and Owen together in Europe. She tried to explain her relationship with Owen. He still felt she'd gone "too far," insisting, "You betrayed me." Donna tried to counter this belief, but Eric stood firm, defining the different kinds of infidelity. Donna admitted she let him down, but "I didn't give him my heart." That has always been Eric's. Eric told her he'd made a decision, and she gasped: Was he leaving her? Going back to Stephanie?

Bridget and Brooke caught up, with Bridget admitting she felt "like I dodged a bullet." They hugged and Ridge came home, being all wonderful and stepfatherly when Bridget joked she was moving in. Alone, Ridge and Brooke discussed Nick and the custody situation. Ridge wanted them to be honest with their "feelings and concerns." And he needed some reassurance. After all, Nick and Brooke had seemed pretty cozy. Brooke said she'd try to be a little more sensitive. "Nick is never going to be a problem," she promised. "He better not be," said Ridge. She assured him she loved him and would be happy to declare it in front of "God and everybody." To that end, he showed her the wedding outfits he'd designed for Hope, RJ, and Jack. A moved Brooke assured him she wants to be his wife "again" and "forever."

Thursday

Donna pleaded with Eric for another chance, insisting she loves him and he loves her, too. Eric said that love wasn't enough, so Donna kept making her case. "There has to be trust," reminded Eric. "Without trust, there's just need...habit." Oh, like why he'd stayed with Stephanie for years? Donna pointed out he'd given Steph countless chances. Didn't she deserve ONE? Talk then turned to how the Forresters had rallied around Eric. Despite that, Donna contended there was still hope for them. They touched foreheads and nearly snuggled, but remained at an impasse because Eric just wasn't ready and didn't want to be pressured. Downstairs, Thorne and Felicia were twitching while Stephanie was sure the tide would turn her way. When Donna came downstairs, silent and stoic, she told the waiting trio that Eric hadn't asked her for a divorce. Stephanie insisted the marriage was over. Upstairs, Eric stared at his wedding photo. Donna, meanwhile, told Steph she would prove her love to Eric. Cue much snarking! Donna swore that she wouldn't give up on Eric and stood firm in the face of Steph's vintage barbs.

At Brooke's, she and Ridge were all aglow about their relationship.
Naturally Nick and Katie arrived to dim the glow. Brooke raved about bringing Jack home to Hope and RJ and then Ridge whipped out a "parental declaration of intent." He wanted the antagonism to stop and had drawn up an agreement for them to sign so they'd all "do right by" Jack and respect each other. Nick was skeptical, but he signed the document. Then, the signing of the actual custody papers commenced. Brooke thanked Nick for his "generosity" and Ridge for his "understanding." Brooke felt like the luckiest person in the world. Nick still couldn't believe that Ridge had agreed to this. They bantered and Katie turned the subject to her pending bundle of joy. Brooke then kissed Ridge for "being you," and had high hopes for the future. Of course, that jinxed things — Katie suddenly doubled over with painful cramps!

Friday

Ridge, Nick and Brooke (and baby Jack!) rushed Katie into the hospital. Dr.
Caspary did an ultrasound and regretfully informed Katie she'd had a miscarriage. Katie began weeping as the doctor apologetically explained that the fetus likely wasn't viable. Alone, Nick comforted Katie with a hug. "We're going to get through this," he swore. In the hall, the doctor told Brooke and Ridge that Katie miscarried. Brooke clutched cutie Jack close. The camera lingered on his adorable little round face as Ridge and Brooke discussed Katie's terrible plight. In her hospital room, Katie blamed herself and noted that Nick had lost everything because of her. "You're free now. You don't have to stay with me," she said. He assured her he wasn't with her because of the baby and said they would start fresh and be grateful for Jack. Katie asked him to call Brooke and Jack in. Ridge told Brooke that Taylor was right, "You are Jack's mother" (slapping non-biological mothers the world over in the face). Nick then emerged to ask Brooke and Jack into Katie's room. Grieving Katie was buoyed seeing the little sweetie, asking to hold him. (The child reached back for Katherine Kelly Lang. LOL!)

Stephanie discouraged Felicia and Thorne from asking Eric about him and Donna reuniting. She wanted a moment to "think this through." But she assured the kids she wouldn't let Donna take advantage of Eric again. Stephanie didn't want to get into this whole Donna thing with Eric. Felicia offered to take the reins and then Stephanie got an idea about how to protect Eric.

Outdoors at Forrester Creations, Donna updated Marcus on Eric and then ran into Owen, who revealed he'd been fired. He was actually more ticked about losing Donna than his job. Donna admitted she had "feelings" for him but said that her heart was Eric's. Owen kept making a pitch for her love. "I'm not staying with him out of guilt; I'm staying with him out of love," she said of Eric, shooting Owen down. He accepted that, but was still worried because Pam is still out there. "I'll never stop loving you," he said. Later, Thorne ran into Marcus and got all huffy. He reminded Marcus the Forresters were back in action and barked at him to unload a shipment. Donna walked up on this and urged Thorne to support his father and give Eric space to make his decision. Marcus went off to unload the shipment as Thorne and Donna scowled at each other. Later, crazy Pam watched from a rooftop as Marcus and Donna looked at the crate. "Today you die," hissed Pam. As Stephanie approached, Donna got a phone call and Marcus opened the shipping crate instead of her. A ginormous cobra swayed upwards and bit the poor guy! Donna immediately knelt at her son's side, calling his name.
