Bold and Beautiful Recaps

B&B Week of August 17, 2009

Monday

Ridge's women demanded to know who he was going home with, and he
sidestepped the question by addressing some reporters and asking Taylor and
Brooke to meet him in Eric's office. Once there, he admitted he was getting
advice from James Warwick, who'd suggested group therapy: for Brooke and
Taylor! They scoffed at the very idea! James then showed up to sketch out
the idea in person. He pointed out Ridge has "one very large, dysfunctional
family" and that the women were at the epicenter of it. He wanted to take
them to Big Bear to work things out. The women reluctantly agreed to go,
much to Ridge's relief.

Bill and Katie flirted over a private, celebratory dinner. They reminisced
about the time Bill helped drunk Katie out and then Bill admitted how much
Katie had come to mean to him...in a flirty way, of course. He doubted
Katie's good opinion of him would last very long and wondered why she likes
him. "Do I have to keep throwing away multi-million dollar deals to keep you looking at me
that way?" he mused. She assured him he didn't, claiming he doesn't have to
change, because there's a good person inside him. Bill talked about how he
wants Katie differently than he wants anything else and expects to drive her
away and then "close up like a fist." Yet, even knowing that, he confessed
he needs her! After that husky declaration, he moved to her and kissed her.

The Jackie M gang came back to the office with mixed emotions about the
fashion show challenge. Later, Whip pitched a TV interview for Owen, based
out of his hometown of San Diego and he wasn't comfortable with the idea.
Clarke offered to accompany him. Bridget wasn't so hot about doing an
interview herself. "You sound terse; I sound breathy," she griped to Nick.
But it was clear she was actually upset about the challenge. He comforted
her about losing to her family. Later, Whip reassured Jackie about Owen's
interview and they traded compliments. Whip raved about how Jackie "took
command" of the stage and then leaned in and kissed her cheek.

Tuesday

James ushered Brooke and Taylor (now casually dressed) into the Big Bear
cabin and demanded they hand over their cell phones. Taylor and Brooke were
skeptical of James' mad skills as a therapist (despite the fact that they've
both slept with him). Later, with candles lit and sage burning, James tried
to get the women to meditate. They were still doubtful. James then got them
talking about the root of their issues: Ridge. After that, James thought therapeutic massage might be helpful in the "healing process." Yes, he meant that Taylor should massage Brooke. That went about as well as you'd expect. James broke it up before it turned into Wrestlemania, determined to have them be friends no matter what.

Whip gazed at photos of Jackie up on his corkboard as, downstairs, Owen
kissed Jackie and got ready to leave for his "first, big interview." He was
nervous and worried about saying the wrong things about their company and
their marriage. Then, he and Jackie had some hot sex against the kitchen
cabinets and in front of the fire. Afterwards, Owen didn't want to leave and
Jackie assured him she trusts him. Clarke came by to pick Owen up, but
before he left, Jackie wanted to reiterate how much Owen means to her. "You
have got all of me," she assured. "I truly love you." "I love you, too," he
said, on his way out the door. Then, he ran upstairs to issue Whip a warning
and some "ground rules" about staying away from Jackie. Later, Whip went
investigating and discovered that their lofts were connected by a set of
interior stairs. Convenient! As Whip hemmed and hawed about their
flirtation, Jackie said they were "moving on"! But Whip hadn't moved on, he
raved about her. She suggested he "tiptoe" back upstairs as she wouldn't
betray her husband. But alone, she was already feeling pangs of loneliness!
And Whip...? Well, he stabbed a photo of Owen with an X-acto knife.

Wednesday

A mystery person, possibly Whip but maybe not, sliced a photo of Jackie and
Owen in two as a nervous Owen called Jackie from San Diego moments before
his interview was set to begin. Jackie told him to break a leg. Later, Whip
noticed how exhausted she looked. She'd tossed and turned all night without
Owen! Nick and Bridget soon joined them to watch Owen's interview. Jackie
was convinced Owen would be a great success and great PR for the company. In the studio, Owen went AWOL for a while, worrying Clarke, but soon showed up. Owen started out talking up Jackie M's Indulge line but then things went
awry! He praised Whip for his genius and then said that the truth of his
marriage would blow people away. Even Nick noted how odd Owen was acting.
"Looks can be deceiving," he said of his marriage to Jackie, promising to
tell people "something that nobody knows."

Steffy boggled when Ridge told her that James had Brooke and Taylor up at
Big Bear. She reiterated that she wants him to be happy but didn't think
Taylor and Brooke were going to be able to work things out. Steffy and Ridge
then settled in to watch Owen's interview. "He's a good guy," shrugged
Steffy. Up at Big Bear, James made Brooke and Taylor a very healthy, organic
breakfast but they weren't hungry. But wait, there was more! He'd had mud
from the Dead Sea delivered! Yes, he wanted them get into a tub of it,
because of its "healing properties." They did, but "the toxins are still
very present," Brooke observed. James urged them to make eye contact until
"you caress each other's souls." They ended up literally slinging mud at
each other instead.

Thursday

Everyone at Jackie M was on pins and needles waiting to see what Owen would
reveal. "Does it take Sherlock Holmes to figure it out?" he cracked cockily
to the interviewer, before talking about how he'd hooked up with "an older
hottie" connected to a fashion house in the rise. "It's a symbiotic relationship," he said, saying he and Jackie serviced each other's needs and that he didn't love her. "Surprise, Jackie! I had you fooled!" he said to the camera. "You got punked!" he guffawed. Jackie was stunned. Later, she showed up at Whip's apartment, swilling straight from a bottle of bubbly. "How could I have been so wrong about him?" she wept of Owen, insisting that there had been no sign that Owen felt this way. Whip assured her that it was Owen's mistake, not hers. Jackie then got a frantic call from Owen insisting he could explain everything. She tearfully hung up on him. Whip comforted her as she wept and ended up kissing her. Several times. Back in San Diego, Owen left Jackie a message assuring her that he loves her and was coming home ASAP.

James called Ridge from Big Bear, assuring him that he'd yet to give up on
getting Taylor and Brooke to be pals. All cleaned up from their mud fight,
the ladies awaited his next therapy technique: trying to talk things out,
with the option to swat each other with stuffed mallet thingies as a last
resort. There was more swatting than talking and then they thwacked
James...just as Ridge walked in. James washed his hands of them and stalked
out, while Ridge boggled at his women. They apologized and tried to talk to
each other more civilly. They found some common ground talking about the
kids. "We are a family here, forever bound by our children and our history,"
pointed out Ridge. Meanwhile, James came in, drowning his sorrows in booze
and dubbing himself a failure. "We're having a breakthrough," Brooke assured
James. "It's true," claimed Taylor. James asked them to prove that by
hugging. So they did! And they apologized for everything they've ever done
to each other, too! "Doesn't mean it won't happen again," Brooke cracked.
"It sure does keep life interesting," Taylor smiled. (Yes, you read all of
that right.)

Friday

Donna wanted to prove to Katie that Bill hadn't changed a bit. She asked
Katie to hide when Bill arrived. Donna lied to Bill and told him Katie was
working. Donna pranced around him in her bikini as Katie watched. Bill asked
if Eric would want another man putting lotion on her. Donna kept flirting,
but Bill wasn't taking the bait. Katie watched and laughed. Katie came out
and wasn't convinced that Bill was untrustworthy. Bill came out in his
bathing suit and Donna continued to flirt. Donna tried to rekindle what they
had had. Bill apologized for his past behavior. He said he had been
inappropriate in the past and added that because of Katie he was trying to
be a better man. Katie came out and gave him a kiss. Katie read what Bill
wrote about her in Eye on Fashion and smiled.

Owen came home to a very upset Jackie. She accused him of humiliating her.
He tried to convince her that everything she saw on TV wasn't true. "I am
committed to our marriage," he said. Owen introduced Jackie to his brother,
"my twin brother." Jackie was in shock. Owen explained that Casper had been
the man being interviewed. Owen explained what had happened. "I would never
say those things to you," Owen added. Jackie fell into his arms so happy to
learn the truth.

Jackie ran into Whip's living room. "Oh god, what have I done?" she asked.
She told him all about the twin brother. Whip couldn't believe she had known
nothing about the brother and just laughed. Jackie felt awful that she had
kissed Whip. "It was wrong. It shouldn't have happened," she said.

Owen told Jackie that he didn't blame her for what she said to him after she
saw the interview. He gave her a big hug. Jackie looked pretty upset
(because of the kiss with Whip). Jackie began to tremble, and Owen put a
blanket around her. Jackie fell back in Owen's arms but remembered the
passionate kiss with Whip.
