Bold and Beautiful Recaps

B&B Week of August 18, 2008

Monday

Donna sat down at Eric's piano, all emotional, and Owen arrived in one of his numerous brings-out-his-eyes blue shirts (does he EVER wear another color?).
Donna kept insisting Eric would pull through. Owen then told her that Marcus was suspicious of him. Donna offered to make it up to him and he offered his shoulder as she waxed poetic about her marriage. "You're remarkable," sighed Owen, saying she had the power to wake Eric up, because she'd already done exactly that.

Taylor and Rick cuddled close as Rick worried for Eric and talked about Ridge shutting off Eric's ventilator. Marcus rushed over to see Steffy and tell her Owen was back. Pam and Brooke interrupted, and Pam was mighty snarky. Alone with Auntie Brooke, Marcus revealed Owen's "trying to get his hooks" in Donna. "The guy could be looking at millions," he pointed out. Elsewhere, Taylor questioned Steffy about Ridge's second favorite person, Marcus. "I love him," insisted Steffy. This mother-daughter chat was interrupted by Rick doing the Tarzan yodel and appearing from the bathroom in a towel. LOL! Rick turned right around and went back inside. "I'm glad that Tarzan makes you happy," Steffy told Taylor, who knew her daughter was buttering her up so she'd talk to Ridge about Marcus. When Steffy left, Tarzan emerged and got busy with Jane. Back at Forrester, Marcus theorized that Owen is responsible for Eric's condition. Nearby, Pam flirted with Earl, the Big Bear cabin caretaker. Marcus kept brainstorming with a baffled Brooke, remembering Owen giving Eric a bottle of gin. "What if gin wasn't the only thing in that bottle?"

Tuesday

Brooke found Marcus' allegations against Owen's baffling, and he admitted he didn't have "all the pieces to the puzzle." He rushed out, determined to put the whole thing together. Steffy asked him to meet her at the hospital but he had to "handle" something first. Restless Donna wanted to go to the hospital and Owen tried to reassure her. Furious Marcus broke up the powwow and demanded Owen leave. Donna was horrified by Marcus' barrage of questions and hunt for the gin bottle. He admitted he thought Owen poisoned Eric. Donna flipped! Later, Marcus went to the hospital and asked Bridget to check Eric's blood for traces of poison. Bridget was floored by Marcus' theory. Alone at the Forrester manse, Owen noticed how rattled Donna was and she covered. "We're in this together," Owen told her, passionately. Back at the hospital, Marcus told his comatose stepdad he was just trying to look out for his mom. Bridget then appeared with the test results...

Ridge visited Eric at the hospital, where Bridget reassured him about the whole ventilator snafu. Ridge then apologized to Eric. Bridget told Ridge to stop blaming himself and Brooke echoed the advice. Jackie came by to visit her old flame. She bitterly noted that "none of this would have happened" if Eric had made his life with her. At home, Brooke gave tense Ridge a shoulder rub and then they hit the sack. "Why aren't we married already?" Ridge wondered. "It will happen," Brooke assured. "Your dad will be right there with us."

Wednesday

Marcus was awakened from his slumber at the Forrester mansion by a knocking Steffy, who hugged him. She'd panicked after he disappeared. Marcus told her all about his Owen theory and his need to protect Donna. He called Bridget for a test result update. At the hospital, Bridget told Brooke they'd know very soon and her lab tech buddy, Carl, promised to rush the results. Brooke and Bridget comforted each other as Marcus paced. When Owen (making himself at home) appeared with coffee for Donna, he and Marcus sparred. "Don't get it twisted. I'm onto you," Marcus warned. Back at the hospital, Bridget sported her doctor glasses and asked for Brooke's take on the Owen drama. Marcus and Owen kept arguing and it turned into a shoving match that Donna had to break up. "This is crazy!" she gasped. Owen demanded they tell him what's going on and Donna shared her son's theory. Brooke's theory, meanwhile, was that Owen had a "rescue" complex and Eric had a heart attack on his own. Then, Carl appeared with the toxicology results. Bridget looked at the chart while, elsewhere, Owen was rocked by Marcus' accusations. "What do you have to hide, buddy?" taunted Marcus. "I guess we're all going to find out." Brooke offered to go over to a family meeting Ridge called as Bridget studied the tox results. Owen stormed off, claiming innocence, and Donna urged him to stay, reiterating her belief in him. Naturally, this is when Bridget arrived. "The report came back positive," she said, coldly, as all eyes fell on a baffled Owen.

Ridge gathered Felicia and Thorne in his office, hoping to make a "confession" to Donna. He wanted them to grovel and get their jobs back, "no matter who's in charge." It's what Dad would want. Thorne and Felicia were shocked by his attitude shift. "Eating that much crow in front of Donna is asking a lot," sighed Thorne. Steffy listened in as Ridge admitted they "owe" Donna because she had Eric's "best interests at heart." Steffy walked in and Ridge added that maybe they'd misjudged Owen. (Gulp!) Thorne and Felicia told Ridge to stop beating himself up about Eric's ventilator, but he couldn't help but feel "haunted." Felicia hugged her bro, reminding, "I still believe in miracles. I am one." Ridge asked his sibs if they were willing to apologize. They begrudgingly agreed and Ridge hoped Donna would accept the groveling "in the spirit in which it's intended." Steffy hoped this meant making peace with Marcus as well. Sure, Marcus and Owen, too. (Ridge is really setting up for a fall....)

Thursday

Donna reeled from Bridget's revelation that Eric was poisoned, and Marcus pointed the finger at Owen. Stephanie sat by Eric's bedside and got an update from the European expert she'd flown in. The doctor urged her not to give up hope too soon. Stephanie held Eric's hand to her cheek, looking vulnerable. Ridge, Thorne and Felicia met up with Brooke in the hallway at Forrester, saying they intended to apologize to Donna. Brooke told them about Eric's heart attack being induced. When speculation turned to Donna, Brooke fingered Owen. (And Steph was magically there for this.) The Forresters insisted Owen and Donna were in cahoots. Back home, Owen denied Marcus' accusations and fisticuffs ensued. The Detectives Baker arrived on the scene and questioned Bridget about the toxicology results. Marcus shared his theory with the detectives, noting Owen had suspiciously tossed out the gin. Baker Sr. pointed out they had nothing without proof. Brooke kept defending Donna as Bridget called to get her up to speed. Brooke shared the news and the Forresters were immediately out for blood. The detectives searched the house and Owen reiterated his innocence to Donna. Team Forrester then arrived to get their anger on. "You think I drugged Eric?" gasped Donna. Cue accusations flying. Charlie returned downstairs with capsules of potassium chloride from Donna's underwear drawer. Donna gasped and the Forresters clamored for Donna's arrest. As the Bakers dragged Donna off, Owen bade them to stop: "I'm the one you want. I tried to kill Eric Forrester."

Stephen and Beth arrived in Eric's office, expecting to see Donna. Stephen had an unpleasant flashback of Donna and Eric in flagrante on the sofa instead. He ruminated on what he's lost to Eric and Beth chided him for acting like Eric's already gone. Stephen pointed out that even if Eric recovers, he'll go running back to Stephanie eventually. When Beth got upset, Stephen apologized for being so bitter. Beth hoped Eric would wake up soon, for Donna's sake. Stephen told Beth about the scarring sight of the sexcapades, dubbing Eric a "bastard" for taking Beth, Brooke and Donna from him. They worked the "prime suspect" angle hard as Stephen took pleasure in Eric being unable to hurt his family anymore. Beth marveled at how much they'd changed and he assured her he never stopped loving her. The estranged duo melted into a kiss.

Friday

Owen told the cops to let Donna go, insisting he'd drugged Eric. Thorne almost tore his head off but was quickly restrained. Stricken Owen was unceremoniously hauled out. Tearful Donna called Stephen and Beth while Felicia took potshots. Stephanie soon took charge of the bashfest, stonily citing that Owen had likely done this for Donna. Brooke and Marcus jumped to Donna's defense but Steph wasn't havin' it. At the police station, the detectives Baker questioned a surly Owen, noting he'd confessed the minute they'd turned their eyes on Donna. Back at Chez Forrester, Bridget defended Donna, too, but Steph was on a tear. "Is Owen your lover?" she demanded. "Don't you dare question me!" cried Donna. Stephen and Beth finally arrived and were brought up to speed. Cue more yelling and Donna bolting out the door. Charlie and Papa Baker kept hammering at Owen, who claimed "greed" was his motive for attempted murder. Back at the manse, it was a Logan vs. Forrester free-for-all as Marcus told Steffy what was going on. Bridget told everyone that knowing potassium caused the heart attack probably wouldn't help Eric's condition. Donna, meanwhile, visited Owen at the precinct. She wanted to know why he had done this to her and Eric. He told her that he'd wanted everyone to think he'd done it in order to protect her. He insisted that whoever wanted to murder Eric was still out there, and the camera cut to various suspects' faces (Ridge, Stephanie, Pam, Stephen, etc).

Katie talked to Dr. Caspary about her pregnancy. She swore the doc to secrecy since Bridget worked in the same building, and then ushered in a ballcap and sunglasses-wearing Nick. Dr. C was shocked but rallied. Cue listening to the fetal heartbeat. Nick and Katie were moved by the rapid thrumming. "So far, so good," said Dr. Caspary, assuring that she'd been coordinating with Dr. Patrick. Dr. C warned that carrying the baby to term could jeopardize Katie's life and the child's. Nick and Katie talked over the "high risk pregnancy" pamphlet she gave them and hugged emotionally.
