Bold and Beautiful Recaps

B&B Week of December 8, 2008

Monday

The Forresters swung the night away at Brooke and Ridge's party, unaware
that anything was wrong. Except for Steffy, who doubled over in pain,
immediately calling Eric and Marcus to her side. And then Ridge walked in,
his face ashen with grief. As he sank to the floor in sobs, Thomas looked at
Steffy and they just Knew. Music played over a montage of Ridge confirming
the news for the children, Bridget crying in Brooke's arms, and Eric holding
Felicia. The whole room was awash in grief as Ridge clutched Thomas and
Steffy. Then, Thomas stormed out and Thorne stopped Ridge from following.
And a bloodied Rick limped in. "I'm sorry. You'll never know how sorry I
am," he whispered. "You're sorry?" echoed Ridge. "Phoebe's dead and you're
'sorry?!'" he said, launching himself at Rick and blaming him for the wreck.
The fight was quickly broken up as the Forresters continued to reel. "Dad?
What about Mom?" reminded Thomas. Nearby, Bridget and Brooke tended to Rick,
who wept and wondered what he'd done. "I never meant to hurt her," he
sobbed, haltingly revealing he and Phoebe had fought. Brooke assured him it
was a horrible accident but he continued to blame himself. Stephanie then
emerged on the balcony, wondering why Rick was alive and Phoebe was dead.

Taylor thanked Stephanie for being there for her while Brooke and Ridge's
party was going on. Taylor admitted her drinking had caused people a lot of
pain. Phoebe, for instance. Stephanie assured her Phoebe loves her and
they'd work through any problems they had. Taylor played
Stephanie a song Phoebe had written for Ridge and sent to her. "She has the
voice of an angel," sighed Taylor, not realizing how literal that
description is now. She then shooed Stephanie off to the party, sure she'd
have a second chance to "rebuild everything, make things right." Stephanie
soon arrived to the empty Forrester mansion, confused as to why the house
was empty. Eric was forced to tell her, "Phoebe was killed." Stephanie
struggled to process the news and Eric went up to comfort Thomas and Steffy.
Meanwhile, Taylor moved photos of her children around and put Phoebe's song
back on again. As she flipped through Phoebe's childhood scrapbook, Ridge
came by. He knelt beside her on the floor and then rose, his heavy silence
freaking Taylor out. As she wondered what was wrong, he told her, "Phoebe
was killed tonight." Her whole body seemed to absorb the blow.

Tuesday

Ridge sat alone and sad and was joined by Steffy, who said she should've
been there to help break the news of Phoebe's death to Taylor. Ridge urged Steffy to
give Taylor some time alone and father and daughter struggled with how to
deal with Phoebe's loss. "I felt her leave me," whispered Steffy, bemoaning
their time spent apart. Ridge talked about how he held Phoebe as she died. "She
was very peaceful," he assured. Steffy then wanted to see her sister "one
last time," and Ridge agreed to take her to the morgue. There, the attendant
gave them Phoebe's personal effects and a few minutes with the sheet-covered
gurney. As they sorted through Phoebe's things, Steffy sobbed. She was
inconsolable after uncovering Phoebe herself, wetting her scarf and cleaning
her sister's face. "She's beautiful, isn't she?" she asked Ridge. "She'll
always be beautiful," Ridge whispered, giving Steffy a moment alone. "Why
didn't I make you stay?" Steffy sobbed to her sister, saying, "I feel like a
part of me is dead." She begged Phoebe for a sign that she's still with her,
holding her and weeping. Outside, Ridge leaned on his mother, crying for his
"sweet little girl," and wondering how an "accident" had taken her life. "If
it was an accident," noted Stephanie, ominously.

Haunted, Stephanie continued to question Rick about the accident, unable to
understand why Phoebe was gone. As Rick tried to explain that Phoebe had
been angry at him while he drove, Stephanie fairly leapt for him, furious.
Brooke calmed the situation, noted they needed to be praying for Phoebe and
her loved ones. Alone, Brooke kept trying to comfort Ric, whose guilt was
boundless.

Wednesday

Stephanie explained to Ridge that there were "questions" about what caused
Phoebe's crash. Down in the morgue, Steffy continued to weep at Phoebe's
side. "I can't do this without you," she sobbed. Ridge soon joined her to
comfort her. Later, Steffy went AWOL. Ridge found her out on a ledge in a
bizarre, trance-like state, trying to "feel" her sibling. He dragged her
inside, holding her close.

Bandaged up and changed, Rick gazed out the window. Brooke again told him,
"It was an accident," but he wouldn't stop beating himself up. He then
confessed to Brooke that he attacked Ridge at the Sky Lounge and had
manipulated Brooke and Ridge to break up. Brooke was floored by the details
of his nefarious deeds. After his explanation, Brooke caught up with
Stephanie, who told her Phoebe was thrown from the car after not wearing a
seatbelt. She was convinced it wasn't an accident, that the crash was Rick's
fault. Brooke was boggled. "He's going to pay for what he's done!" Stephanie
swore of Rick.

Thursday

As cops continued to investigate the crash site, Brooke insisted to
Stephanie that Rick didn't kill Phoebe. Stephanie said they could "do this
quietly" and drive Rick down to the police station and get him a good
lawyer. Brooke basically told her where she could stick it. Stephanie kept
insisting Rick was "trying to hurt Phoebe deliberately" and "get back at
Ridge." She vowed to make Rick pay and painted a vicious picture of the
crash site. "I've looked into Rick's eyes," shot back Brooke. "He is not
guilty!" She explained that Phoebe had gone into a rage and attacked Rick.
"This was nobody's fault!" wept Brooke. Stephanie just didn't buy it. "He
set this whole tragedy into motion," she raged, saying that if Rick was
blaming this on Phoebe, "then he's more of a bastard than I even thought he
was capable of being." Brooke tearfully pointed out they'd lost "an angel"
and that blaming Rick wouldn't bring her back. Stephanie's fury was
boundless, but Brooke wouldn't back down. "He's become you," Stephanie
accused, saying Brooke was responsible for everything. "You made him
into the man he is today ... YOU killed my granddaughter."

Ridge told a shaken Taylor that Steffy would be sleeping on the floor in
Thomas' room tonight. Taylor wanted Ridge to take her to the crash site. She
sobbed in Ridge's arms. Later, they went to the dark, desolate crash site.
They sank down with flowers, clutching each other and scattering petals on
the spot where Phoebe died. Back at Taylor's, Ridge urged her to rest and
try to "process" this. "Process this?" she echoed, stricken. She'd had no
idea her daughter was dying! Then, Madison from Forrester Creations called
the house looking for pal Phoebe. Haunted Taylor had to tell her she
couldn't leave a message and hung up. Ridge hugged her.

Rick was tormented by sweet flashbacks of falling in love with Phoebe. Then, Eric came in and
gently asked how Phoebe's death had happened. Poor Rick had to rehash it all
and Eric comforted him. Rick then went back to flagellating himself for his
sins. But he hadn't wanted to hurt Phoebe, Eric pointed out, holding his
son. "I just want to disappear," Rick murmured. Eric told him they'd deal
with this together, as a family.

Friday

Brooke flashed back on Stephanie's cruel accusations about her and Rick's
culpability in Phoebe's death. Ridge came in and embraced her. Brooke said
she hadn't been able to tell little Hope Phoebe is dead, just that they
couldn't have the wedding today. "Was that wrong?" she asked, bewildered.
Ridge noted he didn't understand the senseless death himself, so how could
they explain to a child? Ridge wondered where Rick was, contending to get
the explanation himself. Brooke related what Rick had told her about the
accident. Ridge didn't buy Phoebe was to blame for her own death. "There was
a fight and it ended in a tragedy. Let's just leave it at that," pleaded
Brooke, determined to work through this. Ridge worried that Rick was
manipulating her. Stephanie walked in to make her stance known. She wanted
to bring Rick to justice! She explained Rick made a pass at Steffy and that
was why Phoebe was furious. Plus, there was the faked paralysis and the
edited podcast. Brooke continued to defend Rick but Stephanie encouraged
Ridge to pursue having Rick arrested.

Rick went to Taylor's, finding her grieving in the living room. He
apologized for the loss of Phoebe and Taylor bemoaned all the great things
Phoebe wouldn't get to do. Then she asked Rick to run through the story of
Phoebe's death for her. Taylor asked if Phoebe had said anything about her.
"Phoebe did not die hating you," promised Rick. "If I hadn't gotten involved
with you..." Taylor began, but Rick told her she couldn't think like that.
"It was my fault," insisted Rick of both their relationship and the
accident. "I hurt my daughter, I hurt her!" wept a guilt-ridden Taylor.

Lt. Baker told Stephanie that there was nothing he could do: "Sometimes
accidents just happen." Stephanie was still out for blood, though. As Lt.
Baker left, Steffy came in. "This is all my fault," she whispered, hugging
her grandmother. Stephanie explained that, no, it was Rick's fault. Steffy
revealed that she'd told Phoebe Rick kissed her. "She was so upset," she
wept. If she'd kept silent, Phoebe wouldn't have gotten in that car!
Stephanie soothed her, assuring her it wasn't her fault for telling the
truth.
