Monday
At the beach house, Stephanie lurked behind the doorframe as Rick and Steffy
kissed. Brooke called Steffy to tell her that Ridge is having a tough time
and asked her to come by Forrester. Steffy told Rick, and it forayed into
them discussing Rick giving the designs to Jackie M. "It was a desperate act
of love," defended Rick of his decision. They kept kissing and whispering
and promising to be there for each other — as Stephanie listened in.
Realizing that Ridge still couldn't accept them, they agreed to stay secret
a while longer. Then Rick saw Steffy off and collapsed on the couch in
relief. That's when Stephanie emerged and scared ten years off Rick's life!
She accused Rick of using Steffy to hurt Ridge. Rick swore he loves Steffy.
"You're not capable of love," said Stephanie. When Rick realized he couldn't
convince Steph otherwise, he asked what she planned to do. Well, she wasn't
going to allow Rick to "take another daughter away from my son." She
promised she wouldn't let Rick and Steffy be together.
Ridge and Brooke wrapped up some work, marveling at how they were getting
out a whole new line in under a week. Ridge was haunted by a "signature
dress" he'd designed for Phoebe. Brooke comforted him as he shared how
haunted he was by Phoebe's death. Later, Steffy dropped by to lift Ridge's
spirits — and felt mighty guilty as Ridge waxed poetic about holding on to
the daughter he has left. Steffy gently tried to explain how stubborn Phoebe
had been and how the accident wasn't Rick's fault. "Rick's at fault here,"
insisted a stony Ridge. "I don't want him anywhere near you. EVER."
Tuesday
Rick insisted he's not manipulating Steffy; he loves her. Stephanie was not
convinced and asked Rick to stay away from Ridge's daughter. He couldn't
promise to keep his distance from Steffy. "How do you sleep at night?" asked
Steph of Rick's complicity in Phoebe's accident. "I don't sleep at night!"
he cried, insisting the guilt still plagues him. "How does anybody end
something so beautiful, so pure?" he mused of his relationship with Steffy.
Stephanie pointed out how Taylor and Ridge would react to Rick's forbidden
love affair. "Let Steffy go," she urged. She explained to Rick that his love
is "destructive," and that he'd be forcing Steffy to choose between her and
her family. Rick countered by explaining again that he hadn't meant to hurt
anyone. Nonetheless, Ridge would be "so consumed with anger," Steph warned,
pointing out Steffy wouldn't be happy or at peace with her father miserable.
Rick kept insisting his love was "right and real." Stephanie breathed a
heavy sigh, remembering how she'd loved Rick as a child: "You were the
sweetest boy...where did that boy go?" She asked him not to turn him and
Steffy into a "tragic little love story," and asked again, "Let her go."
Back at Forrester, Ridge swore to Steffy he'd never forgive Rick for what
he'd done. "Some wounds are just too deep," he said, as Steffy comforted
him. Brooke directed Ridge away to handle some Forrester business and then
commiserated with Steffy over Ridge's mental state. Steffy gazed at a photo
of her and her sister, and Brooke praised her for supporting Rick in the
wake of losing her twin. Steffy insisted she and Phoebe both understood what
Rick had done and neither blamed him. Ridge came back in the middle of
Steffy's love fest and reiterated his Zero Tolerance policy on Rick. "I wish
I could turn back the clock," he sighed, wistful for better times with his
daughters. "I'm always going to be your little girl," promised Steffy,
before leaving. Brooke marveled at Steffy's strength and then she and Ridge
kissed. Alone, a tearful Steffy pondered a way to be with Rick.
Wednesday
Bright and early in the morning, a shirtless Rick opened the door to
Stephanie, who wanted to make sure "that it's over between you and Steffy."
"You're unbelievable," sighed Rick, insisting he can't let Steffy go.
Stephanie and Rick went a few more rounds and Rick stonily said he's not
afraid of her. "You should be," she warned. Later, Steffy and Rick canoodled
and he warned her they had a big problem: Stephanie knew everything!
Stephanie, meanwhile, dropped in to see Taylor, who was having a rough day.
Steph hugged her and then gently broached the subject of Steffy filling the
void left by Phoebe "but not in a positive way." Back at the beach house,
Steffy flipped out, insisting she had to talk to her grandmother. Rick told
her Steph wants them to end things but he loved her too much to do so.
"She's going to tell my dad," gasped Steffy. "She doesn't bluff and she
doesn't give up." Rick comforted her, assuring Stephanie would keep their
secret but noting that Ridge would eventually find out. Steffy then hit upon
the brilliant idea of telling Taylor, who could surely handle both Stephanie
and her dad's reactions. Of course, Stephanie was already telling
Taylor about Steffy and Rick when the duo walked in. Gulp. "YOU and
my daughter?!" cried Taylor.
Bridget dressed up in mystery "Madame X" garb at Jackie M while Jackie primed
Nick for the introduction. "Can I please go back and live on my boat?"
whined Nick. When Katie walked in to smooch her fiancé, Jackie looked
thoroughly disapproving. Snark about the stolen designs ensued. Then,
Bridget showed up in her black wig and sexy gear and Jackie assured her that
nobody else would recognize the "good Dr. B" in the get up. Jackie trumped
up excuses when Bridget wondered what Nick would say and then raved about
the potential publicity boost from Madame X. As they went over some
business, Nick walked in. Jackie was forced to introduce Madame X. (Bridget,
who'd been both Italian and British since walking in picked French for Nick.
LOL.)
Thursday
Taylor went ballistic when she realized Steffy and Rick are together. "We're
in love," Steffy admitted. "Don't be ridiculous!" Taylor gasped. Stephanie
added fuel to the fire and then Taylor blasted Rick: "Do you hate me that
much?" And she'd be damned if she'd let him take her other daughter away
from her. Taylor channeled her shrink-y talents to analyze why Rick is doing
what he's doing. "This is not about revenge," denied Rick, claiming his
feelings are genuine. Taylor pointed out to Steffy that he'd told her all
the same things not so long ago. "It's wrong, it's unhealthy," she declared,
swearing she'd protect Steffy like she couldn't protect Phoebe. Stephanie
asked what many viewers are wondering: "What about Marcus?" Steffy dismissed
that as a crush. Taylor kept talking about Rick's destructive pattern and
then went off about how Ridge was going to react. Nonetheless, Steffy
wouldn't give up. She begged Taylor to accept her choice. More yelling
ensued and Taylor and Stephanie kicked Rick out.
Eric and Ridge fiddled with some dresses. "We're out of time...frankly we're
out of ideas, too," Ridge sighed, before griping about Rick. "That's
enough!" Eric cried, defending his youngest son. Ridge namechecked Sally,
missing the good old days of a rivalry with Spectra where Forrester always
had the advantage. They griped about Clarke being their only competition
now. Then, Jarrett arrived to get some quotes for his new story; he praised
"Madame X" to a baffled Eric and Ridge. They dismissed it as a stunt but
Jarrett showed them a sample design. Eric admired the "familiar" work and
asked Jarrett to let them know "off the record" if he learned her identity.
Jackie tried to drag Nick out the door before he spent too much time with
Madame X, whose accent was growing more atrocious by the second. She also
refused to take off her dark sunglasses. Jarrett arrived to conduct an
interview and Jackie ensconced Madame X behind a screen. Jarrett and Nick
boggled at her sexy silhouette. Jackie showed Jarrett some designs and let
him take one to print. "Jackie M has arrived," she whispered. Nearby, the
light began to dawn on Nick. Alone with the mystery madame, Nick peppered
her with questions and praised her work, dubbing it like a precise "surgeon"
or "young doctor." Yup, the jig was up. "Did you really think you could fool
me, Bridget?" he asked, taking off her glasses.
Friday
Rick told his mother he had fallen in love again. "I couldn't be happier,"
he said sheepishly. "I'm so happy for you honey," Brooke replied as she hugged
her son. She was stunned, however, to learn the woman's name was Stephanie
Forrester. "Ridge's daughter," she said, horrified.
"Are you trying to break up Ridge and me?" Brooke asked her son. Rick then
admitted to his mother that he had stolen the family's designs for a future
with Steffy. "I don't know what to think, except that you are completely out
of your mind," Brooke said. "I won't allow it.” Rick explained that Stephanie and Taylor were aware of the romance, but Eric didn't know
yet. Brooke grew more and more hysterical. "I do not understand this. You
were in love with Phoebe, Taylor and now Steffy. Don't you see how this is
wrong?" she asked. Brooke refused to support her son in this relationship.
"I fricking forbid you from seeing Steffy Forrester," she yelled.
Steffy told Taylor she loves Rick and doesn't want to give him up. Taylor
tried to convince her daughter that Rick was just using her. Enter Dr.
James Warwick. "Somebody has to make you see reason," Taylor said. Taylor
asked for James' help in getting Steffy to see the light. A defensive Steffy
called James' presence an intervention. James tried to get her to look at
all the women Rick had been involved with. "Rick is using you in the most
insidious way," James stated emphatically. Steffy jumped to Rick's defense.
Stephanie tried to explain that Rick was using Steffy to get back at Ridge.
"Can you choose to love a man that your father possibly will hate forever?"
James asked. James thought that Steffy would eventually resent Rick and that
she was going to hurt her father. Steffy sobbed in her mother's arms and
claimed that she would never hurt Ridge on purpose.
Nick saw through Madame X immediately. "Bridget is going to be our
salvation," Jackie told her son. Bridget explained to her ex that she has
design talent in her blood. She took a leave of absence from the hospital
and wanted to pursue her dream. She added that she didn't want to use her
name — that would be Forrester — to get into the fashion business. Bridget
made it clear that she wanted to stay as far away from Nick as possible.
Nick told her that they would be in the same building. Bridget wondered if
perhaps she'd made a mistake in accepting Jackie's job offer. Nick hoped
she wouldn't walk away from her dream "because of me" but he added that he
had to be hands on with the company. Bridget didn't think it was smart that
she work there. Jackie wouldn't hear of it. "Both of you are going to make
it work," Jackie insisted.
Clarke stormed in and wanted to get the dish on Madame X. He was stunned to
learn that Bridget Forrester was the secret designer. Jackie tried to listen
in on what Nick and Bridget were talking about and hinted that she wasn't
keen on the Nick/Katie relationship.
