Bold and Beautiful Recaps

B&B Week of January 17, 2011

Monday

On the Forrester jet, a confused Brooke woke up to Thomas hovering over her. She demanded to know why he'd kissed her. He blamed it on the trip. She asked him, point blank, if he had feelings for her. At the hospital, Nick came out of a physical to find Ridge waiting for Stephanie to come out of a check-up. The half-brothers made small talk about Brooke, Thomas and the Taboo line. Nick was curious if seeing Brooke and Thomas together worried Ridge. A dismissive Ridge insisted he didn't worry about Brooke. What about his son? Nick pointed out that Thomas was a lot like him, citing that Ridge had once made a play for Eric's wife. Nick offered to take Stephanie home if Ridge had to run to the airfield and check on Brooke and Thomas. "Brooke and I are unbreakable," Ridge stressed, saying that no man had come between them...even Nick! Back on the jet, Thomas insisted his feelings weren't inappropriate. Brooke did not agree, rambling about how Taylor's concerns were spot on. Thomas asked her not to mention this to Ridge. Given her track record, Brooke didn't like keeping secrets from her husband. Ridge took Nick up on his offer to take Stephanie home and left. Then, the doctor came back with Nick's test results. Everything had come back clear, except for his chest x-rays. There was a spot on his lung. As Ridge boarded the jet, Thomas again begged Brooke to stay silent. Ridge asked how things went, hoping that the "intrigue of Taboo" would have longevity. He picked up on Thomas and Brooke acting weird but was just glad to have them home.

Amber met up with her mom at Il Giardino. Tawny advised her daughter to
"hitch your wagon to Liam Spencer" just like Katie Logan had with Liam's
father. "No one scams Bill Spencer," declared Amber, telling Tawny that
Liam, Katie and Bill would never believe her and never let her into their
world. At their beach house, Katie and Bill cuddled. Bill joked about the
magic powers of the water in the Valley, given how it benefited the Logan
gals. "The vixens of Van Nuys?" cracked Katie. They talked about Justin's
thing for Donna, as well as Brooke and Thomas' shenanigans possibly bringing Forrester Creations back to them. Then they cuddled and kissed some more! Back at Il Giardino, Tawny and Amber mentioned Little D/Eric being at boarding school before hand-wringing over their finances and scraping together cash to pay for their bill. "You wouldn't have this
problem if your name was Amber Spencer!" Tawny pointed out. Amber just wanted to be cared for.

Tuesday

Brooke and Ridge admitted that they missed each other greatly while Brooke was in Paris with Thomas. The two then made love in their candlelit bedroom. While discussing the Men's Line, Ridge remarked that Thomas is just like him at that age, and it's the same woman who lit a fire beneath them. He offered a champagne toast to his wife and shared with Brooke the one question reporters ask him: What does it feel like watching your son romance your wife? Ridge believed Brooke when she told him nothing is going on, but had to mention what the story is doing for sales.

Taylor arrived home, happy to find Thomas in the living room. She interrogated her son about the trip and the plane rides with Brooke and then told him she actually found the press conference disturbing. Taylor offered to help Thomas with anything that may be bothering him. He retorted with, "I don't feel like being psychoanalyzed by my mom." She suggested that Thomas has an Oedipal complex and that as a child he fell in love with Brooke as his mother figure and still views her as his ideal woman. Thomas did not appreciate his mom's "psycho-babble" and asked her to please drop the subject.

At the hospital, Nick's doctor informed him that his chest x-ray revealed a spot on his lung. He scheduled a CAT scan to determine if the spot was caused by infection, inflammation, or a tumor. While waiting for the test, he ran into Stephanie and filled her in on his situation. She offered to wait with him and provide moral support. Post-CAT scan, a clearly worried Nick did not want to discuss the possibility of cancer. Stephanie respected his wishes but reminded him to stop smoking cigars and that early detection is key.

Wednesday

Nick told Stephanie about the spot the doctors found on his lung, and confessed he'd been smoking since he was a teenager, first cigarettes, then cigars. When Nick tried to defend his habit, Stephanie pointed out it causes lung cancer. "I take risks. It's how I like to live," Nick retorted, and got up to leave. Stephanie reminded Nick of all the people he has in his life, which struck a nerve. After she left, Nick reached for a cigar and tried to light it, but blew the match out instead.

Madison dropped by to see Thomas, but Whip explained he was busy. In fact, he was looking at photos of himself and Brooke on his laptop. When Madison lamented to Whip that her relationship with Thomas didn't seem to be going anywhere, Whip had an idea.... As Thomas lay in bed daydreaming about kissing Brooke, Madison entered his room. The two reviewed paperwork she'd brought over; Thomas assured her that she was gorgeous and good at things. When Madison started to flirt, Thomas leaned over and kissed her. Madison pulled away; Thomas explained he couldn't make any promises. "I never asked you for any promises," Madison replied, and kissed him goodbye. "See you tomorrow," she said with a smile.

Donna and Kate had a girls' night at Kate's, where they drank wine and played truth or dare. Katie asked if Donna missed Eric; Donna said yes, but added that they were totally wrong for each other. Katie suggested that Donna turn to Justin — "the one who got away," Donna remembered. Katie told Donna that tomorrow is Justin's birthday, and dared Donna to come to the party tomorrow. Donna worried that Justin was angry at her for keeping his son from him all these years. "He doesn't blame you," Katie insisted, adding, "He's never gotten over you.... Maybe he wants to love you again."

Thursday

On the Shady Marlin, Nick stared at Dr. Lewis' business card before Aggie
brought Jack down from a little stargazing on the deck. At the hospital, Dr. Lewis introduced Stephanie to another lung cancer survivor, Judy. They talked about genetic testing and survival rates and marveled at why people still smoke. Stephanie then checked in with Dr. Lewis, learning her oral chemo was "doing the job" and there was no new tumor growth. When Stephanie asked about Nick, Dr. Lewis revealed that Nick was blowing her off. Back on the yacht Aggie teased Nick about his choice in movies for him and Jack (The King and I). She was about to leave him and Jack to their popcorn and soda when she found Dr. Lewis' card. Nick shrugged off her questions. Nick and Jack were playing some high stakes card games for jelly beans, so Aggie left them to it. Later, Stephanie came onboard and found Nick having a cigar. She chastised him about not calling the doctor back and for puffing away. He shrugged that Jack was down below and not near the smoke. He stubbed out the cigar in a huff and kept being stubborn. Stephanie made him call Dr. Lewis to find out if he has cancer.

Marcus introduced Dayzee to Justin and Bill at a swanky birthday party for
Justin at Bill's beach house. Nearby, Katie and Donna beamed over their
hubbies being "proud papas," and Donna revealed that she and Marcus had
bought Justin a special gift. Then it was Donna's turn to officially meet
Dayzee. Out on the porch, she and Justin shared their approval of their
son's new gal and Donna jokingly cringed at the thought of her approving of
Stephanie by association. Inside, Bill gave Hope and Liam his blessing. "I
think he might be starting to like you," Katie smiled. Later, Justin and
Bill riffed and joked and Bill raised a toast to how he and Justin were now
sharing the experience of having families together. "May we continue
toasting our birthdays together in the nursing home...with hot nurses!"
toasted Justin. Hope added a toast for Bill, too. After the lovefest, Marcus
and Donna gave Justin their gift: a photo album of Marcus' life. Marcus'
adoptive mother had sent the photos and Donna wanted to share what they'd
missed. Justin was speechless!

Friday

Nick asked Dr. Lewis what the "verdict" was: "Do I have cancer?" Dr. Lewis said it didn't look like it. The spot on his lung had been scarring from a
respiratory illness. She still wanted to monitor him. Nick basically blew
her off and lit up another cigar to celebrate. Stephanie told him to stop
and he told her to "scurry on out of here." He didn't appreciate her
lecturing. "Iron lungs, baby," he crowed, slapping his chest. He defended
his smoking as a casual habit and shrugged off the possibility of developing
cancer. That's when Stephanie brought up Jack, and accused Nick of being
addicted to smoking. On cue, Jack came looking for his daddy because he
wanted to ride in the dinghy. And while Nick was speaking to the boy, he was
exhaling smoke! Oops. Nick winced. Stephanie lambasted him about exposing
Jack to secondhand smoke. Nick said the "key" was not to smoke around his
son. An infuriated Stephanie actually got on the Internet with her
smartphone and read Nick some statistics! She got so worked up, she began
coughing. A worried Nick admitted he's tried to quit smoking but can't.

At Bill's beach house, Justin was struck silent by Donna's touching gift and had
to excuse himself and go out to the porch. Donna followed him, and found him
being all stoic and contemplative. He loved the album, but wondered how she
could've kept Marcus from him all those years ago. Donna admitted that maybe
she'd been selfish giving the baby up without telling him. She promised to
make the rest of her life making it up to him. Justin didn't want to dwell.
He wanted to "focus on what's ahead" — as a family! Donna was so thrilled.
She wanted to erase all those years. And they got started with a passionate
kiss! (Much to Marcus' delight.) Back inside, Donna raved to Katie that
things "couldn't be better" and she and Justin made eyes at each other.
Nearby, Dayzee asked Marcus about his experience with the ladies, and she
told him she has no interest in being a "friend with benefits," because
she's not that kind of girl. What if she was more than a friend? They
grinned and kissed. A few feet away, Hope was relieved to not be thinking
about Amber and she told Liam she was seriously considering sharing herself
with him. And unlike Amber, "I won't settle for you being unconscious."
Marcus and Dayzee noticed Donna and Justin sneaking out again and marveled
at it. Out on the porch, the duo cuddled and Donna asked Justin to "go
steady."
