Okay so Clay has finally confirmed what most people suspected and the is he is gay. My question really is, does it matter? Does it take away his talent? Does it make him any different than anyone else?
To me the answer to all the above questions is no. I think Clay did the right thing by coming out and for the right reasons. He is helping raise his son and doesn't want to live a lie and have his son grow up in that lie.
I know a lot of people would say that Clay was not being true to himself up until now, but I do not agree, he just didn't feel it was any of anyone's business it has nothing to do with his singing or any of his talents, and I agree, but with a son in the picture Clay is not only openly being true to himself but to his son as well.
Cudo's to Clay I still think you have an amazing voice and are a good person.

I agree with you that it has nothing to do with his talent but he should have just said it from the start. Why deny it? It is a part of who you are, doesn't change who you are. It is a shame in this day and age he was afraid to admit it. I don't think he was afraid to admit it, in fact if I remember correcting he was quoted as saying it really is none of anyone's business and has nothing to do with his career. I really believe he just want something in his life left private. To me that is not being afraid just personal. And I agree he could have come out sooner to avoid all the speculation and inappropriate press but now that it is out it will all probably stop and he can live his life the way he wants.Look at Lance Bass same thing and once he came out it died down. The press isn't happy unless they can speculate the worst in someone until the truth comes out then they have nothing.
That is why I think just put it out there and than it is over with. It may not be any one's business but in this day and age the media is crazy and will stop at nothing. Had it come out earlier think it would have made his life easier and people would have just payed attention to his talent and not his sexuality.
I agree that his preference really is none of anyone's business. It never mattered to me. I do agree that it is a shame If he felt he might have to hide it. Unfortunately gay couples face a whole different society all together than straight couples. Everyday they are faced with stereotyping and personal discrimination because not everyone is as accepting. I think the strength that Clay has to go on with his day to day life the way he chooses, despite all of that, is remarkable in itself ....and brave.

I don't quite agree, for one thing I don't think he was ready to put it out there as you put it, and the media didn't help much with the poking and proding into his life with speculation. I personal think he chose the right time to come out because he one was ready and had the most precious reason to do so and that was his son. I give Clay a lot of credit in putting his son before his inigma. And I truly believe that Clay will be much happier now that it is out, the press can focus on Parker instead of whether Clay is Gay or not.
Personally, I don't care if he's gay or straight. I think you're right, it doesn't change anything. I'm glad he came out for the reason he did. I think the media can be horrid sometimes in all the speculations and digging they do. How close they get to these people to take photos and how many there are... It's terrible what they will do for a story.
If it was a publicity thing so be it, there were personal issues involved that had to be dealt with. And ya he has a new album coming out in November and this just might help the sales but it was years in the making and it would be a good time for it's release.
I am just glad all the speculation is over with and Clay can live his life as he should a spend time with his son and enjoy him.
Sorry but was this REALLY that big of a surprize? I mean really....He came out to one of the girls on AI. Sorry but my Gaydar was in full effect on this one. And have you heard one of Kathy Griffiths routines? LOL I'm gonna leave this one alone b4 I get in trouble The press were already on the trail.......
No it wasn't which is why I never addressed it cause I liked him for his talent not for who he is. Just wish the press had left this alone like others, they tend to get involved where they are not welcome and tend to ruin lives cause of it.
And there are ppl that make their bread and butter doing it. That's really sad
Tell me about it. It is in very poor taste as far as I am concerned. I say if you can't say anything nice don't say it at all.
