At the Brady Pub, Melanie asked Philip about Steph. He said she was okay. She indicated something more was afoot, then backed off and hurried out. Once outside she said to herself that "Philip couldn't know." He came out, overheard and asked her what he couldn't know. She said she had to keep her promise. "What promise? Stephanie made you promise not to tell me something?" he queried. Melanie advised him to ask Steph himself.

Stephanie talked to Father Matt about Philip at the church. She confessed that she worried he was "a liar, a thief and worse." She clarified that she loved him and knew he loved her, but didn't want to be part of his family. They talked things through. The priest pointed out that Steph was very moral, yet involved with immoral people. She began to cry, noting Philip wouldn't change. They talked some more and Father Matt said he didn't think he could help her because it seemed she had made up her mind.

Judge Fitzpatrick went to the DiMera mansion to talk to Stefano and EJ about the upcoming custody battle with Sami. Karen was unsure EJ had a slam dunk victory. Stefano reminded her how he had contributed to her political campaigns. She noted that she wasn't aware there were strings attached. EJ made it clear they were expecting her help. "Can we count on you?" Stefano asked. The judge didn't answer directly, but indicated that she didn't agree with what Sami did with Grace and left. EJ fumed to Stefano that he had wasted so much time with Sami. Stefano advised him not to look back, pointing out how loyal Nicole has been.

Rafe checked up on Nicole's claim that she met Mia while volunteering in a teen program and found out that she hadn't worked at one. He spied Brady inside the Java Café and chatted him up about Nicole and Mia. Brady covered that he didn't know of the teen center; he met Mia in a 12-step meeting and didn't know her relationship to Nicole. Arianna came in, so Brady took off. Rafe asked Ari about her interest in Brady. She played it off, but he kept teasing her. Ari abruptly left, but not before revealing that Brady and Nicole used to date.

On the pier, Brady ran into Philip, who was looking for Steph. Philip kept going. Ari approached Brady and asked if they could talk. She noted that it was obvious Nicole was trying to set them up earlier and she said it was embarrassing and made her uncomfortable. She noted that Brady was nice, but more of a friend type. "I'm not pushy or desperate," she added. Melanie overheard the last bit and said, "Sure you are, girl. You're pushy and you're desperate because you have it bad." Ari pointed out to Melanie that they weren't friendly enough for her to be making those judgments. "Yeah, I do know you're turning a pretty shade of crimson," Mel smiled. Ari left for work but returned to the Café to get her purse, which Rafe had for her. He asked what was going on with her and Brady. She insisted it was nothing, but Rafe added that he thought Brady was an "alright guy." He told her he was going to the cemetery to leave flowers on Grace and Emily's graves. Ari asked if Sami knew about Emily, but he said not yet.

Melanie decided to play matchmaker for Arianna and Rafe, but wondered who was going to set her up. She read her horoscope. "When do I get to be happy?" she sighed.

Nicole brought Johnny to Sami's penthouse. Sami was thrilled to see her son and thanked Nicole. She asked if Nicole had another reason for helping her. Nicole explained that she didn't agree with what EJ was doing. Nicole then added that if Sami wanted her to keep bringing Johnny around, Sami would have to get Rafe to back off of his investigating. She elaborated, noting that if EJ got wind of Rafe's poking around, EJ would beef up security and Nicole wouldn't be able to take Johnny so easily. Sami had a good visit with her son, then Nicole took him home and told him to keep their trip to Sami's a secret. Sami went to the cemetery to leave flowers for Grace. She spied Rafe and wondered what he was doing there. He put flowers on Emily's grave. Sami came over and asked who Emily was.

Bo dreamed of the vision he had involving Zack and Ciara. He woke up, startled, and called out for Ciara. She was sleeping in between Hope and Bo and Hope assured her hubby that their daughter was okay. Hope explained that Ciara crawled into bed with them during the night after they came home from their stakeout. She fretted that they had kept the babysitter late. Noting the alarm on his face, Hope asked if he had another vision. He admitted that he had and told her about Zack appearing to him and warning him about Ciara's stuffed bear. Hope was happy he opened up to her. Bo said he had to trust the vision because when Zack appeared to him when Theo was in trouble, he was right. Bo thought they had to put Tommy Bear somewhere safe in order to protect Ciara... At the Java Café, someone circled Hope's picture in the paper.

Philip desperately tried to reach Stephanie on her cell, but she didn't pick up. He spied her pill bottle and appeared confused.
