Monday
Bo arrived at the cemetery, saw Benjy's dead body, and raged. Abe explained that Steve went ballistic earlier, then took off. Abe noted that Stefano was back in the hospital, so he'd posted a guard there. Bo mentioned the missing Roman when EJ arrived and said he might have a way to find him. Before EJ could explain, Bo showed him Benjy's dead body and noted that the DiMeras had killed him. EJ pointed out that the same fate didn't have to await a member of the Bradys, if he and Sami married to end the vendetta. Bo said that Lucas wouldn't let that happen and neither would he, but EJ said Sami had already agreed to it. Bo filled EJ in on the end of the Santo/Colleen story, namely, Colleen committing suicide upon learning Santo was married. EJ was stunned, yet insisted that he had to marry Sami or the vendetta would continue and Roman could die. Abe showed Bo something of Roman's that was found in the grave. Obviously, Roman's body was removed to make room for Benjy's. EJ noted that Roman may have already been released, after Stefano contacted Andre and told him the vendetta was over.
Sami tried to convince Lucas that divorcing him and marrying EJ was the only way to end the vendetta and save her family. Lucas refused to accept the idea and asked Sami if she really wanted EJ and loved him. Sami insisted she loved only Lucas. A distraught Lucas couldn't believe any of this and insisted that they shouldn't let Colleen, Santo and a 50-year-old vendetta affect their lives. Sami wondered if Lucas wouldn't do the same thing to save his family. Lucas said he wouldn't. He loved Sami too much. Sami swore she loved Lucas and promised the marriage would only be temporary until Stefano died. Lucas pointed out that Stefano never died, just continually rose from the ashes. Lucas vowed not to give Sami a divorce and left.
Kate arrived at Stefano's hospital room and asked about Roman. Stefano insisted he knew nothing, then gave Kate some good news. "What would you say if I were to arrange Samantha divorcing Lucas and marrying my son, Elvis?" Kate beamed, as Stefano explained the terms of the vendetta. Outside, Steve arrived, but the cop on guard sent him away.
Inside, Stefano asked about Kate showing her gratitude. Kate promised she would, after seeing the divorce decree. The pair kissed, then heard a ruckus outside. Kate opened the door to find Lucas, who immediately accused her of conspiring to break up his marriage. Kate swore she knew nothing about it. Again, Lucas vowed not to give Sami a divorce and left, as Kate went after him. Meanwhile, Steve returned with a plan. He called Bo and told him he was at the hospital. In the middle of Bo's tirade, Steve handed the phone to Stefano's guard, who heard Bo ordering, "I want you out of that hospital, now. Get your butt down to the cemetery." With that, the cop left and Steve entered Stefano's room.
Sami was sitting alone at the pub when EJ entered. She asked if Roman had been found, and he broke the news that he hadn't. Sami swore she wouldn't marry EJ if her father was not found alive. Suddenly, Andre arrived with a tied-up Roman. Sami raced over, embraced her father, and demanded to know what Andre had done to him. Andre chuckled and suggested Sami see for herself. EJ opened Roman's jacket to find a bomb strapped to his chest.
Tuesday
Kate barged into Lucas's car and begged him to let her explain her
visit with Stefano. Lucas accused Kate of finally getting what she
wanted: ripping Sami out of his life for good. Then, he told her to get
out of his car and his life. When Kate stayed put, Lucas declared his
love for Sami and his realization that Kate would never except it.
Mother and son bickered, and Kate admitted she'd made unforgivable
mistakes with Lucas. Lucas said he wanted the freedom to live his own
life and decide who he wanted in it. Finally, Kate left his car. Lucas
left Sami a phone message declaring his love, when Kate returned,
insisting she had nothing to do with Sami's decision to wed EJ. Lucas
turned a deaf ear, declaring that he was no longer Kate's son or Lucas
Roberts, anymore. He was changing his name to Lucas Horton.
Sami and EJ discussed how to treat the bomb attached to Roman, while
Andre assured them the timer hadn't been activated. EJ informed Andre
that the vendetta was over. Santo's terms had been met. Sami admitted
that she hadn't committed to anything, yet. She did promise Stefano to
marry EJ if her family was safe, but Roman being wrapped up in a bomb
wasn't her idea of safe. Andre phoned Stefano for confirmation, but he
didn't answer. So he gave Sami five minutes to says goodbye to her dear
old dad before he set off the timer. Roman urged Sami to leave, but
she insisted they call Bo.
Hope arrived at the ceremony, where Bo filled her in on the latest:
they'd found Roman's badge in Stefano's grave, but Benji was in the
coffin when they dug it up. Hope was concerned for Steve. Bo admitted
his friend was bent on revenge against Stefano but noted that a guard
was posted at his hospital door.
Bo also explained that he'd ordered Steve to report to the cemetery.
Suddenly, Stefano's guard appeared, noting that he'd gotten there as
fast as he could. The cop explained receiving Bo's orders via phone to
get out of the hospital and to the cemetery. "That's what I said to
Steve," fumed Bo, ordering the cop to phone for backup at the
hospital.
Steve burst into Stefano's room pointing a gun and declared that he
was going to make him pay for his crimes. Stefano asked what Andre had
done. Steve said that Benji was dead. Stefano was stunned, insisting he
would never have ordered the death of his own son. When Steve refused
to let Stefano push the blame off on Andre, Stefano told him to shoot
him, but warned that the vendetta would continue. Steve went on about
how much he'd loved Benji and was determined to get some justice. Steve
ordered Stefano to get dressed. They were leaving. Steve had something
special planned for him. Steve's phone rang and it was Bo, imploring
him not to hurt Stefano. Steve refused to be deterred and hung up, as
Bo and Hope raced to the hospital.
Bo's cell phone rang and it was Sami, explaining Roman's predicament and
asking what wires to pull to diffuse the bomb. Roman got on the phone
and explained it was too late to do anything. Then, he begged Bo to
convince Sami to save herself by leaving the pub. Bo obliged, as Hope
gasped. On the TV, Steve was holding a gun to Stefano, promising to
kill him unless Andre brought Roman to him, alive. Andre watched from
the pub and pondered what to do next.
Wednesday
Stephanie and Chelsea attended another rush party. Morgan arrived and told the pledges they had work to do to make the cut as new sorority sisters. The girls would partner up, and whichever team raised the most money for Raven House's Women's Shelter would be automatically voted in. Steph and Chelsea headed to The Cheatin' Heart, which was hopping, to brainstorm. Adrienne explained that the big crowd was due to the college football game and bemoaned that her best waitress had called in sick. She asked Chelsea and Steph if they wanted to help out. The gals worked the bar and checked out the guys with Adrienne. It gave Stephanie an idea for a fund-raiser: the one thing every college co-ed would pay top dollar for was a guy. That's what they'd auction off.
Steve sent a message to Andre via live TV: bring Roman to him or Stefano died. As Bo and Hope watched, Bo explained that Andre was at the pub with Roman, who had a bomb strapped to his chest. Hope checked in with the Salem PD to see if an explosion had been reported. It had not. She and Bo prepared to leave, when Lucas arrived looking for Sami.
Bo explained that she was at the pub with Roman, Andre and a bomb.
Hope, Lucas, and Bo headed to the TV station, where Bo ordered the manager to keep the cameras rolling until the hostages were released. Lucas wondered what was taking Sami so long to get there and called her cell, to no avail.
At the pub, Roman yelled for Sami to get out before the explosion, while EJ implored Andre to diffuse the bomb. Finally, Andre did. EJ ordered Andre to call the TV station and tell Steve he'd exchange Roman for Stefano. Meanwhile, at the station, Stefano urged Andre to do as Steve asked and bring Roman there. The phone rang and it was Andre, agreeing to Steve's deal. But before he left the pub, Andre decided to put an end to EJ and Sami. Later, EJ and Sami sat tied up, back-to-back in the pub's kitchen, while gas filled the room. They worked together to inch toward the door. Sami and EJ continued to try to free themselves, as EJ reached for a piece of glass and attempted to cut the ropes binding them.
Back at the TV station, Andre arrived with Roman and noted that he could still set off the bomb. When Bo asked where Sami was, Andre cracked that he'd forgotten her. Then, he taunted Lucas about his upcoming divorce. "Not a chance," retorted Lucas. Stefano reassured Andre that the vendetta was over and Sami and EJ would marry. Andre insisted there would be no wedding. Lucas ordered Andre to tell him what he'd done with Sami. Andre noted that she was most likely a "mere memory" by now. Lucas said he was lying, and Bo asked Roman if it was true. To their shock, Roman nodded and confirmed Sami was at the pub. Lucas ran off to save her. Stefano asked what Andre had done. "What you should have done months ago, when Elvis made his first mistake,"
responded Andre. Stefano scolded him, noting that everything he'd done has been for EJ. A furious Andre wondered why he even tried to save Stefano's life. A scuffle ensued and Andre grabbed Hope and put a gun to her head. Steve countered by putting a gun to Stefano's head, but Andre wasn't impressed. Stefano asked Andre to release Hope, noting this war was over. "This war is over when I say it is," countered Andre, instructing Bo that he'd be dealing with him, now. Bo surrendered his gun to Andre and had Steve release Stefano. Andre announced a change of heart. They could keep Stefano. Then, he took off with Hope.
At the pub, EJ managed to free himself and Sami. He turned off the stove while Sami ran and opened the door. When she returned, EJ was unconscious. Sami stroked EJ's face, begging him to wake up. She couldn't end this vendetta without him. Lucas arrived and couldn't believe what he was watching.
Thursday
EJ regained consciousness and told Sami how beautiful she is. Lucas was watching their closeness and left without saying a word. Sadly, he missed their spat, as Sami pushed EJ away and declared her undying love for Lucas. EJ wanted to take Sami to the hospital, but she refused his help. So he offered to head to the TV station to see what was going on there. "Like you care about my dad," retorted Sami. EJ swore he did.
Andre headed to the roof with Hope. Bo followed and warned Andre that he'd reached a dead end. Andre said he could always jump with Hope. Downstairs, Roman had the police arrest Steve. Stefano told the cops that Steve held a gun to his head and promised Steve he was going to the state hospital for life. "For what, wanting you dead?" asked Steve.
"Hell, that makes me the sanest dude in Salem." Upstairs, Bo and Hope tried to reason with Andre not to jump. Stefano needed him. Andre said Stefano had no use for him. He'd proclaimed EJ his heir. Bo suggested Andre get payback and offered to help. If Andre testified against Stefano, Bo promised him immunity. Andre wouldn't bite and hopped onto the ledge with Hope. Bo pointed his gun at Andre, and Hope told him to shoot. Bo fired, as Hope elbowed Andre and he fell. Bo pulled Hope to safety, and they shared a kiss.
Paramedics arrived and wheeled Roman off, while Steve and Stefano stayed behind and traded insults. EJ walked in, and Stefano demanded to know what Andre had done to EJ and Sami. EJ filled him in and reported that he and Sami were fine. Stefano couldn't understand why Andre killed Benjy, and blamed himself for failing his father and his children. EJ assured Stefano he hadn't. This was the beginning of a new DiMera dynasty. Sami was about to have twins, twins that would be raised as part of their family. Kayla rushed in to see Steve, who broke the news that Hope had been taken hostage by Andre. Steve apologized for upsetting Kayla. Kayla thought Steve's actions were brave, as the cops hauled him away. Meanwhile, EJ told Stefano that Sami's heart laid with him and asked for Stefano's assistance in separating Sami and Lucas.
At the hospital Sami found Roman, who was happy to see her alive. Sami explained that she and her twins were fine. Sami asked what happened with Andre. Roman noted that he'd taken Hope hostage. "That's not possible. The vendetta is over," whined Sami, insisting that once she married EJ, Stefano would never hurt their family again. Roman was against the idea. Lucas arrived and Sami sensed that something was wrong. Lucas admitted he was worried about the DiMeras raising their twins and asked Sami to leave Salem with him. Sami didn't want to leave Salem. Lucas worried that if Sami married EJ, he'd never let her be his wife again. "Or you won't take me back? Which is it?" asked Sami. Lucas accused Sami of planning something with EJ. Sami swore Lucas was her destiny. "Then don't leave me," he implored. Suddenly, Will appeared and asked if Sami was walking out on them.
Chelsea and Stephanie discussed their date auction and perused a list of frat boys. Max joined them, noting that he was there to ask Adrienne for a job. After noting that she and Jeremy were totally over, Steph explained that she and Chelsea needed volunteers to spend a night with a hot coed. Max was confused, so Chelsea filled him in on their charity auction. Max got it: They wanted to auction him off. Max turned the idea down, then went about asking Adrienne for a job. She hired him. Adrienne brought Chelsea and Steph two beers and offered them The Cheatin' Heart for their bachelor auction. Max joined Chelsea and gave her good news about his job, when Steph raced over and said she had to go — her dad went psycho at the TV station. Max offered to give her a ride.
Later, Bo and Hope were down on the street, wondering if Andre would survive his latest fall. Bo assured Hope she was safe and they could head home. "That monster's still alive and Steve's going to jail...Does it feel like the end to you?" asked Hope. Bo had to admit things were far from over.
Friday
Sami was thrilled to see Will back in town, but instead of getting all warm and fuzzy with his mom, he demanded to know if it was true that she was leaving his dad. Lucas explained that Sami was going to marry EJ. Will freaked. Sami said that if she wed EJ, the Brady/DiMera vendetta would be over. Their family would be safe. Will didn't like the idea, but realized Sami was making this sacrifice to protect them and it would only be temporary. Then, he left to give his parents time alone. Sami was glad Will understood. Lucas was glad Will didn't know the whole truth — namely, that there was more to this thing with EJ than saving the family. Sami swore she had no feelings for EJ. Lucas said he'd seen Sami holding EJ at the pub. Sami insisted it was because she thought EJ was dying. Lucas accused Sami of having feelings for EJ. Sami noted that EJ had changed, but that was a long way from her being in love with him. He was a means to an end for her, and she would just be his legal wife. Lucas warned not to take the DiMeras' word for anything. Sami asked Lucas to assure her that he'd wait for her. Instead, he kissed her and said goodbye.
At The Cheatin' Heart, Adrienne chatted with Belle about Shawn's condition. Belle noted that he'd be home soon and went on about how he'd saved her life in the fire. Philip arrived and told Belle the search for Tyler was over. He'd looked everywhere, but it was hopeless.
Lauren swore he'd never find the child, and she wasn't kidding. Philip wondered if Tyler could be dead. Belle refused to believe that and urged Philip not to give up. They would face this together.
Adrienne went to chat with Kayla, who bemoaned Steve losing it again.
Adrienne called Steve a hero for holding a gun to Stefano's head. No matter, Kayla knew there was no jury that was going to let him go free. She explained that Mickey suggested Steve offer an insanity plea, claiming he was overwhelmed by Benjy's death and snapped. Kayla blamed Stefano for everything.
Shawn complained to his nurse about going back to his boring room. She let him go fetch a magazine, and he spotted Lauren. Shawn phoned Philip and told him that Lauren was at the hospital. He had her cornered, but Philip had to come quick. Lauren tried to get away, but Shawn stopped her. Lauren told Shawn he was wasting his time. Tyler was gone. She pushed him to the ground just as Belle and Philip arrived. Philip grabbed Lauren and demanded to know if she killed his son. Lauren swore Tyler was fine, then ran off as cops subdued Philip. Lauren ended up plummeting down the stairwell. Philip screamed for someone to get help.
A cop entered Bo's office, announcing that Steve had been booked. Stefano came in and said Steve was going to spend the rest of his life in jail. Bo left his office and ran into Kayla, who was looking for Steve. Bo said he needed to blow off steam, because Stefano was inside. Kayla urged him to take his time while she confronted Stefano. "Do what Benjy would really want you to do and let Steve go. Be the father that he always wished you could be," challenged Kayla. Stefano refused. Kayla reminded Stefano that she could have pulled the plug and killed him in Italy. Stefano laughed and said she should have. She won't get that chance again. Kayla begged to differ, since she was a doctor and he was a sick man. "You press charges against Steve and you better pray that you don't end up in the hospital, where fatal mistakes can happen so easily," she warned. When Bo returned Kayla said that Steve was going to be fine. She would make sure of it.
